This is one of the best place to look for an ice cream in the campus plaza Irvine.They have a lot of interesting flavors around the world. Must try if youre looking for dessert. It is really good and it come with crispy waffer.

Definitely one of the best ice cream shops!!!!!! Ot has lots of amazing flavors, but for sure try its Saffron ice cream for the best ice cream taste ever!

The wafer that came with the cup almost had a stale texture, but I cant tell if that was just the recipe. The ice cream itself is fabulous, though. Its very smooth and creamier than others. Its a bit pricey, but I got the impression that this type of frozen treat is a luxury good. I just wish the wafer was crispier.

Loved their ice cream. Very exotic and different yummy flavors. Nice seating outside. Lovely customer service and very nice lady helped us choose our flavors and was very hospitable.

The texture of the ice cream was a bit strange and we I had clumps of ice inside the ice cream. The waffle cone was stale? Not sure if stale or if it was a different waffle recipe.The place was nice, and they had a wide variety of flavors. The cost.. it was a bit pricey but a different experience.

My husband and I came to get some ice cream at the Irvine location. My husband is gluten free/celiac, so we asked if any of the flavors were gluten free. There server did not know what gluten free was so he asked his colleague, Hunter. Hunter rudely said none of the flavors are gluten free. We told him that the other location does and weve read reviews on yelp that state that there are gluten free options. He stated that he only worked here for 3 months and today is his last day. He mentioned that he is going into real estate. When we asked for a manager, he stated there is none, im the one in charge. I mentioned that he is being disrespectful and giving us attitude. We left the ice cream shop so disappointed. We will not be returning here.

One of our favorite ice cream shops ever! My wife and I go out of our way to come here whenever we crave ice cream. It is velvety and not overly sweet, and the flavors are super unique. So good!

Delicious Persian ice cream! Flavors like rose water, pistachio, fig, date and more make delicious combinations. A small is the perfect amount of ice cream - you can go fruity or creamy & they offer lemon juice and sour cherry syrup to top it with. Sample away and make your choice; you won’t regret it! Pro tip: they will give you 2 free water crackers if you ask for them!

Tried the lavender, espresso, and saffron flavors. Friggin delicious. If you havent tried this place out yet youre definitely missing out!

Very interesting flavors. Saffron/Pistachio and the Cucumber flavors were good. But we did encounter a couple of chunks of frozen milk in the ice cream.

The OG persian ice cream right here, Saffron & pistachio ice cream is a must plus mix it with faloodeh to take it to a new level!!( Dont forget a bit of lime juice)

Tried it first time due to a free birthday ice cream offer. Tried the Saffron & Pistachio flavor and white rose flavor and they are delicious. Its creamy but refreshing. Its like eating sorbet but creamier. It doesnt stuff you like normal ice cream and price is decent. Will definitely come back

Great place, they have the Saffron&Rose signature, the tast was really good. I am picky about the food in general and the ice cream. The only thing I can say that this place deserves to be more than 5 stars! The service is great, they people who works there were very helpful and smiling the whole time! Love that!

The one star rating is for the customer service. There is no option for ‘no stars’ but this place deserves it. Never felt so belittled as I was treated in this place. He would not answer questions about the different flavors and was extremely impatient.The quality of the gelato is 2 stars. Shouldn’t call this an icecream shop since the consistency is too thin and melts into water. Some flavors are better than others. I liked pistachio but rose was underwhelming. Faloodeh was extremely sweet.I will never visit this place again.

Ice cream place took over for Stricklands, which was there forever. They have traditional Persian flavors like pistachio rose water, orange blossom and others. They have traditional American flavors like cookies and cream, strawberry, and chocolate chip, etc. They even have Asian flavors like taro. The ice cream is pretty much on par with Mashti Malones without the crazy drive to Hollywood. I prefer the pistachio rose water flavor but some people may not like it since it is too ethnic. The white chunks in the Persian ice cream flavors are frozen cubes of plain cream. It is supposed to be there by tradition. Not an error in mixing. They even have faloodeh (noodle sorbet), which I really dont care for but maybe some people do.

Great ice cream. The girl was working there alone and there was a super long line but she was friendly and informative about the flavors since it was our first time there. Pricing is very reasonable and she said everything is organic .

A quality of ice cream that cannot be matched. I’m a devoted customer of their original Westwood location from my UCLA days. It’s a staple in West LA and I’m over the moon that Irvine now has a location. Their exotic flavors like Jasmine and White Rose are so refreshing. Combine with something tart like fig/cranberry. My all time favorite is Amazing Almond. They also have mainstream favorites. My kiddos like mint chocolate chip and cookies n cream. Ironically, my least favorite flavor is the saffron one. Maybe I lack the Persian dessert palette. This place doesn’t disappoint

Every flavor we tried was delicious! The Saffron, Rose and Faloodeh were my favorite, but my daughter kept going back for the chocolate and almond flavor. The cucumber flavor is perfect for a hot summer day.. you cant go wrong here!

This was definitely, hands-down some of the best ice cream Ive ever had.I went ahead and got a combination of the pomegranate ice cream with the fig and cranberry ice cream. Both of the flavors were heavenly, but there was just something extraordinary about the fig and cranberry. There were bits of fig inside the ice cream that made it taste even better.The inside was clean and the staff was extremely friendly. I have literally no complaints and I will be back!

Make sure to try their Faloodeh with lemon juice. Their ice creams are all great! They have a very friendly staff.

Very disappointed ((We bought a jar of Saffron ice cream today. We started to eat and it was just unpleasant. In ice cream, we didn’t even understand what pieces ?! non-mixed pieces or fat, or something else ?! I won’t buy it for sure!

This is actually as good as authentic Persian ice cream will get. I saw a one star review that complained about “pieces” in the ice cream. Well, for those of you who are not familiar with authentic Persian saffron ice cream, those piece are frozen cream pieces, which are actually the sign of well made persian ice cream. If you don’t see them that means they cheaped out!If you’re going to try something other than what you’ve been used to your entire life, don’t complain about it, because it’s not exactly the same as what you’ve been used to.

Really liked the unique flavors here @ Saffron n Rose. Ive had the saffron n pistachio flavor with the caramel it was wonderful. Dont recall exact cost but I get the small for about $5.50. You can split and get two flavors. I really liked the mint choc chip and vanilla. I did get a mouthful of ice in my first portion.

Saffron ice cream was great

Saffron and Rose replaced a beloved family-run ice cream store. The quality of their ice cream is first rate. They have both Western flavors and Persian flavors, and if you havent tasted the Persian flavors, like rose water and orange blossom water, you might have a pleasant surprise. Their Western flavors are great, especially the Nutella and the strawberry. There are two caveats. First, the ice cream is expensive, which is understandable given the quality, but its still surprising if you look at what you get. Second, theres an associate, a woman, who is very stingy on the scoops. That little ice cream for that price made me mad. That notwithstanding, its a good place. Try the Persian flavors; just ask for a spoonful.

Amazing Ice cream. This place recently opened and is truly delicious. I’m not much of an ice cream person myself but this place got me. There are different exotic flavors that you won’t find elsewhere as well, including Nutella, Rose, and date. Be sure to visit this place.

This is one of the best ice cream shops I have ever been to. When I have the saffron white rose combo it is a 100% blissful experience. When I first brought my kids I was worried they would fight and ruin my icecream zen. As soon as the first spoon was I their mouth they didnt say a single word. It was a beautiful ten minutes of family silence. Dont pass this place up it is one of the true gems of Irvine.

A lovely place to get your usual ice cream flavors (Oreo, coffee, chocolate) and the more rare treat of Persian flavors (cucumber, saffron, rose). They do both well, but I cannot resist the pull of their saffron and white rose ice creams. The saffron is outstanding and singular, with a strong saffron taste, fat pistachios, and chunks of frozen cream. It’s got the stretchy quality that comes from, I believe, orchid root powder. Eating it with the rose ice cream tones down its heady, rich flavors with the fragrant (not soapy!), lighter rose flavor. Even though the cherry juice on the tables is for the faloodeh, I do like it with the saffron ice cream. A must-try, and a must-return after that.
