A treasure trove of actual antiques. This is not a bric-a-brac store,nor is it an upmarket goodwill. They actually have real antiques and heirlooms.The staff are extremely helpful and the store is packed with gifts and collectors items with still enough room to maneuver between displays.Worth taking some time to browse.

Yours Truly is a fine antiques shop, and one of the best in Jacksonville. This is not a “vintage” relabeled new furniture store and it is not a junk shop. It’s a real antiques store, which is lovely and rare. Proprietor Gale is a joy to do business with and knows her stuff. The shop is worth the drive if not local. Lucky for us we live around the corner! Very fair in purchasing items from my mother’s estate. Recommend highly both for purchasing and selling.

Gale was wonderful and kind. I was selling items that my late parents had inherited and gathered over their 60 year marriage. I was pleasantly surprised that I decided to stop into this cool place. Enjoyed doing business with Gayle. If you have questions about things you may want to sell, she’s a straight shooter about what to do or what will sell etc. which is great since she’s been in this business for decades. Her store has beautiful, original items that are very fairly priced. Anyone on here that has complained probably didn’t really listen to her. I called and told the owner that I had some sterling silver and some antique tea sets. She told me to bring them in she will look at them. I went into the store and she couldnt even greet me hello how are you, very unapproachable. The owner didnt even look at my serving platter (which is clearly marked with the company and style) and told me my stuff wasnt worth anything I know my familys history and I know that in fact it is sterling silver. All she was looking for was the traditional marks . Im afraid she wasnt as hospitable as people are saying she is.

I ran into this place by accident, and I am so glad I did! Not only is the lady that owns the store a real sweetheart, but the variety of stuff available is really neat. Recently I brought in some stuff to sell as we are moving and all these antiques are starting to accumulate, not only did she take the time to look at everything I brought in, but she also paid very fairly for my silver items! Gayle was wonderful and very accommodating. I had some old china that was given to me by a distant relative. I had been moving it around from state to state and even though it wasn’t as valuable as I thought she still worked with me and gave me a fair price for it. Called and the owner Ms. Gail answered which I thought was very unique to have them so one on one with the customer. Told her what I had and she said bring it in and well take a look at it hun. So took in all kinds of stuff and she was very personable and sweet. I called to see about getting an appraisal on some items that were my great grandmothers and I also started to explain what some other items were that are over 100 years old and before I could finish my sentence she stated bluntly that she does not take nic nacs she only takes high end items and to send her a picture of what I have. It was not what she said but how she said it. Not very friendly, I would not do business with her because of her attitude. She really should re-evaluate her customer service skills.

Walked in with my son 13, daughter 27 and adoptive (mixed race) grandson 15. I was at the back of the line. Wed been out doing errands, had taken the boys for lunch in 5 Points at Crane Ramen (yes, its amazing, you should definitely go!) then dessert at Biscottis (grandsons first time and because, well, DESSERT) so in jeans, but decently dressed. Boys had hoodies on with the hoods pulled up as it was chilly. The woman behind the counter said NOTHING to any of us. Even after the boys and I commented to her on how lovely the shop is, she just looked at us like she was just waiting for us to do something wrong. A few other people entered the shop after we did and she greeted them all cordially. Now maybe she was constipated, or was having a bad day. But she really embarrassed herself and put a stain on The Shoppes of Avondale. Go to 5 Points instead, Fans and Stove is right off the main drag and just by Sunray Theatre is a wonderful little antique shop that doesnt care what color you are and will give your little one a piece of candy if theyre being sweet!! Skip this place. Seriously.

I have a beautiful set of vintage china, so I called to see what it would be worth and before I could get out the name of my China she cut me off and in a very rude voice said I dont take what you have! I said Im sorry? And she YELLED back I dont take that trash! My set is worth a couple hundred. Glad I didnt sell to someone that is so rude!

Great place to sell Sterling silver and gold. She pays highest in town. She is very knowledgeable and fair. I have tattoos it did not phase her. She does not care if you have a tatoo or what color you are. She cares about what merchandise you have and pays well.

Gale is very knowledgeable and purchased the whole estate. Theantiques were Early American mostly Sheraton and Cherry wood. Gale is truly a good business woman, if your merchandise is not of good quality she probably wouldnt be interested, I know I would not if I were in her business.

I have bought and sold gold, silver, and many different antiques here for over 8 years, I can tell youwhat I like most about “Yours Truly” are the professional staff and outstanding selection of antiques at great prices. I highly recommend this store as your first stop when your in the Historic Avondale area.

Would give no stars if possible. Horrible experience here. If you are black, do not go here. Gale is only interested in items from white sellers, no one with natural melanin in their skin.

Would not even look at the items we had which were specifically listed in their website including silver, 60s glassware, collectibles and dolls. Always buying they are definitely not.

Its nice to be able to walk into a store and be greeted with realness instead of fake flattery and hounded by someone who wants to make fast money. Someone who has no real concerns for the customers wants and needs. If you are going into an antique shop you are not looking for glitz and glamour. You want true authenticity or one of a kind pieces. Well that also goes for the owner also. I had some silver to sell and of course I called first and Gayle was pleasant and interested in what I had to say and sell. I think some of these bad reviews are from people that expected to just walk in and walk out with money in hand and that didnt happen for them. Cause lets face it, you probably already went to a pawn shop that is convenient and on every other corner in the city and they were not interested in your stuff. Im sure that in itself puts someone on the defensive side in representing their so called valuables to someone they want to buy or sell their stuff to. This store has not stayed in business for 30 yrs by buying literally everyones stuff that walks thru their doors. The store is not huge and it does house some big antique pieces of furniture. So think about it...where are all these great things that people want to sell to this lady gonna fit? Bottom line if you are reading these bad reviews just put yourself into the owners shoes. How would you run your business? Are you in business to fulfill a desire and make some money or do you just want to make everyone elses life easier because if thats the case you would work or start a non-profit.

Not sure who the owner of this store is, however I was looking for an antique shop that actually BUYS antiques as I had some antiques and vintage items that im sure another may value (the items i have arent just your average pawn type of shop to take to)First off let me start by saying I spoke to a woman named GAYLE, COMPLETELY rude this woman was. I called( a woman answered and said yours truly, not a welcoming inventation at all, the whole conversation lasted maybe 2 minutes and it was like pulling teeth!) to first check and make sure they would accept what I had and she agreed to take a look via text msg, so I sent her a few pictures... NO RESPONSE, so I figured maybe she got tied up or busy. I called a little later to see if the items would be acceptable, Im not sure if the woman who answered was Gayle or not because when she did answer she said yes, not even a hello, or a greeting. Which in turn I asked to speak to Gayle and she HUNG UP in my face!Very rude, very unprofessional.

As soon as you walk in to sell something as the sign says,always buying is a lie,it took 2 seconds for her to say NO,simply because I am black.

Rude lady at the phone,puts me on hold and then hungs up or answers my questions!

Although she didn’t purchase what I was selling the owner was very helpful and even advised me on the value of what I was selling.

Stopped by here to get some WWII antiques appraised/possible sell them and was treated rudely by the owner. She looked at me in disgust as I walked in because of my tattoos. Told me she wouldnt look at my items, even though this is a service they offer. I just hope in the future she doesnt treat others the way she treated me.

Was treated very well by the owner unfortunately forgot her name and older lady like myself but some silver from me gave me a fair price and if youre looking for some antiques I would deal with her again in a heartbeat
