If you want a company to install your $20,000+ floor and not stand behind their work, About Floors and More and Richard Scherzer is it. If you want a company that would prefer to give their money to a lawyer rather than do the right thing and make a bad install better, then Richard Scherzer and About Floors and More is the company for you. He will hire a lawyer before trying to fix the issue. Even a professional hired by Mohawk said it was a bad install but Richard chose to not stand behind his warranty.For over four years I worked to get Richard Scherzer and About Floors and More to correct their work where they did not perform any moisture readings and failed to install any moisture barrier…pretty basic stuff. As you can see from the pictures, our floor started discoloring, bubbling and falling apart pretty quick. This is not one room but in every single room and closet in the house.For four years we tried to get Richard to do the right thing. I finally hired a lawyer and Richard did too. At $175 an hour, I realized Richard Scherzer who lives in Queens Harbour would prefer to drag this out beyond the $17,000+ I had given him and no matter what, he just does not have it in him to do the right thing. Winning to him is beating down his once good customers rather than taking ownership of a bad situation he created and making it right…or even making suggestions for how to make it right but he just fights back. That is all he knows. He surely has a miserable life. I just have to move on from this and write Richard Scherzer off as a very bad investment and to never do business with them again. This will end up costing him a lot more than the resolution would have cost.

Everyone is so friendly and knowledgeable about the products offered in their store. I would recommend this this store when looking for floor coverings

Worst flooring & experience Ive ever had & this is my 8th home. Im embarrassed to admit the amount I paid and the quality I received. Definitely look elsewhere !

They were so amazing the first time that I went back a second time to have the rest of my floors done. From start to finish, the process was smooth. There was a big difference between what I wanted and what I could afford. But Valarie helped me find what I wanted within my budget. She was great to work with! After installation, I had one minor issue. The installers were back at my house within a day to repair. No issues since. Highly recommend!

BEWARE! I went to About Floors n More on Feb 15 to select tile for a project. I had a wonderful experience and found amazing tile. I was promised a sample within the week. I waited and on the 7th day called Valerie to get an update on the sample. She said the sample was there and stated the name of the tile. The tile sample that was ordered was wrong. So, I was assured the correct sample would be in shortly. Well needless to say it’s now March 11th, and after several calls and messages left for Valerie (who is apparently never in the office and does not return calls and no other sales rep could/would help) I have found the same tile for way cheaper at Dimensions in Tile & Stone. The lady there was very helpful and RETURNED my phone call as promised the same day. The moral of this story is do not use about floors n more because if they can’t even get a sample right or return multiple calls in a timely manner then I can’t imagine proceeding with purchasing tile from them and doing business with them. Go to Dimensions in Tile & Stone and save yourself the headache.

I am amazed this company has been in business so long. In my opinion, Richard Scherzer is unethical and has no business being in a customer oriented service industry. He has no clue how to treat a customer the right way. All he does is back-track, double talk and stare at my wifes cleavage. If it got me the service I should have had, I would not have minded. They do not stand behind their work. It might as well be a lifetime warranty because his warranty does not mean anything.

We worked with Donna, Valerie, & Richard. They were all awesome. It felt like working with family. They are incredibly knowledge & professional. When you walk in the store, they make you feel comfortable, at home, and as though you are making an informed and intelligent buying decision.They have a great selection of real wood, laminate, carpet and other flooring . We chose a beautiful and well madebeachy laminate flooring for our new beach condo. The installation was fast, professional, and solid. It looks and feels great. If I could describe the experience in one word, it would be value. You pay a reasonable and fair price for awesome customer service and a great product. If you need new floors and want the job done right, call these folks up and they will take care of you.

We worked with John in the office as well as another John, the installer. The communication was excellent and professional. John the installer was very knowledgeable and meticulous. Very impressed!

My wife and I stopped in and pick up some samples. We called and requested another color sample from a board we took home. It was supposed to be in last week. My wife called and was told theyd call back. Nada. She called again yesterday and was told she had to speak to the person who waited on us. Of course that person was out of the office (again) and the woman my wife spoke to asked if my wife wanted her to take over. We just want to get our color sample. No one knows anything. We havent gotten a return phone call. And its a 35 mile drive to this store. Weve given up. If they want their samples back theyre going to have to come get them. Its a terrible way to run a business.

We were very happy with our experience with About Floors N More in Mandarin. From sales to service, everything went well. Beth was very communicative and understood our needs; they worked with our schedule to get the job done. The installers were very professional and courteous and did a great job. We love our floors!

Ive gotten tile and carpet and it’s all been great. The service is unmatched. When I had an issue they came back and corrected it without any questions.

I went to both the Beach and San Jose location for our flooring needs. Both locations were excellent--friendly, helpful and thoughtful staff and a large selection of flooring options. Everything from measurements, quotes and ordering was efficient and timely. Overall a great, professional experience and I strongly recommend About Floors N More for all your flooring needs!

We were flooded by Hurricane Matthew and the floors on the first floor of our home were destroyed. A friend recommended Floors N More so I called and spoke with Valerie. She asked if we would like to come in and look at samples but I said that we were waiting for servpro and couldnt get away at that point. She asked if it would be helpful if they came to us. Within an hour, Richard, the owner, was at our door. He answered our questions, gave us some cost saving suggestions and calmly guided us at a time when we were very overwhelmed. Their crew came in, moved our furniture, removed the flooring and installed beautiful hardwoods and carpets. We highly praise the professionalism and quality of the work but we also want to thank them for their compassion at a difficult time. the deserve 10 stars!

Work was done on time and quality of work was excellent. We couldnt be more pleased. We plan to do more to our house in the future and will use them again.

About Floors N More would have been my choice for 4000 sq ft of business, but I was very disgusted by the comments made about my appearance, by whom I presume to be Richards wife. I am a woman in my 20s with nearly a full sleeve and I dress like a typical college student. I do not look like as financially well off as I am. I know this, but I do not expect to be treated any different because of my appearance. Upon walking in, the womans reaction was initially comical. She was surprised to see me, which is not abnormal. It was when I turned my back and went to another part of the store that she made rude and inconsiderate remarks. Later she insisted on checking up on Richard, maybe I was intimidating him (sarcasm). Richard seemed like a decent human being. He spared me the sales pitch, which I received all day, and had competitve prices. However, Id rather pay more and be welcomed than to go cheaper and be treated in such a disgraceful way.

Very shady and does not stand behind their warranty. About Floors and More is like doing business with a 5 year old kid that only thinks of himself, does not care about anyone else then takes his ball and goes home.

Terrible store, no customer service. If you have a problem they just ignore you. I have a garage full of tile I cant use because of poor quality. I just want my money back on tile I could not use. I tried to get them to come to jobsite to show them how tiles were warped and they just said they were in specifications without even looking. DONT GO THERE. Much better places.

I orderd wood laminate three weeks later it came in color was right but width and locks were not the transition was way off also they refunded my money with a 25% restocking fee out of 454.00 it was 113.00 I gave away for nothing I would not use this company again scared I would be ripped off
