The atmosphere is truly down to earth and magical. I love everything the menu stands for and it seems to be truly unique. They sell authentic coffee and have some of the most delicious looking baked goods. I asked for something sweet and the barista recommended the honey lavender latte with oatmilk. He seemed to be a a little ticked off when I asked him a few questions regarding the menu and the girl wasn’t very warm compared to another customer. Since it was my first time here, I wanted to try something new but the barista wasn’t too friendly. Overall, the drink was great, tasted refreshing and rich. I hope to come back soon when customer service is better but it’s a very pretty place!
Hands down the best coffee shop in Jax. Amazing coffee & people. I know they’re veteran owned too which is awesome to support. They always make the best latte I can get. Definitely worth the drive.
Great coffee, pastries and atmosphere! Great place to hang out and enjoy a treat with family and friends
Great place to meet for a Danish and coffee. Everyone is super nice and the food and ☕ is delicious.
Super amazing staff, excellent coffee probably in my top fivr better than dunkin or starbucks!
Fantastic cozy atmosphere, great tasting coffee, great coffee bean, and decent pastry. Service is exceptional, all workers are positive and pleasant providing an even greater experience!Five star recommend it!!!
The service and coffee are fantastic. Plenty of outlets for electric devices and a comfy atmosphere. Love it.
Fantastic Coffee shop, best coffee in jax! Please expand!
We were working from out of state and wanted to try Social Grounds Coffee Company. I can honestly say it’s the best coffee I’ve had in a while. Great customer service with an excellent product. The man working was very friendly and genuine, we will definitely be back. Highly recommend!
Espresso is great. Not terribly overpowering. Just right
Such a delight each time I visit to order a hot green tea matcha with oatmilk, honey and lavender. My order is always made delicious and quick, the coffee house employees are friendly and very accommodating.
My favorite place to get an espresso. The cold brew is really good too.
Always love to support local but this place is amazing they are so nice and if you come often they remember what you order 🙂
Friendly staff, cozy setting and the owner is very personable. If you are in town for coffee with a great cause this definitely the place!
Me and my friend just had coffee here and it was AMAZING!!!!! Brit was a great, super friendly, and helped us navigate the menu. Would definitely recommend coming here.
Love the variety of coffees here. They also have fantastic desserts to accompany the coffee or tea or cocoa. Very friendly cashier. The place is very clean just off of downtown on main Street and great place to meet for a coffee and get reacquainted not a very big space but comfortable. I go here every so often and re-up on my gourmet coffee.
A quiet place to hang with friends or read a good book.
Best coffee shop in Jax - no contest. Staff are superb; after the first visit we were on a first-name basis.Veggie quiche is EXCELLENT. Cinnamon raisin bagel is great. Espresso is tasty,, not bitter. Additionally, in-house whole bean roasts are a great take-home option.Give this place a shot. You will be pleased.
Beautiful and comfortable inside. You have to ask your server for any condiment, butter, salt, pepper, sweetener or sugar. For the prices charged even for quality food, which it is, service should be more inclusive. Especially since you are expected to pay tge tip before you go to your table. Servers are friendly but appear to have little or no training.
Quiet place with very friendly staff. Your quintessential coffee shop with industrial styling
Small cafe with excellent staff, reasonable selections and prices.
Chill place, good coffee and super friendly staff!
Seems like a cool coffee shop.. nice employees, & they do have clean bathrooms! but the food is old and dried out! $20 for a super old dried out cinnamon bun, two donuts, frappe, a smoothie, and kids chocolate milk... and the frappe wasnt very good! Kinda over priced especially for the area! We wont be making the trip back! Also if you have to park down the road an walk to get there the people will harass you for money the whole walk there! Super sketchy area!
A little bit of everything, but not a whole lot of any one thing. Good sandwiches but only 2 or 3 types. Good tea, but only 2 or 3 types. Etc.
Good cause for vets. Expensive coffee though. Tbh Id rather just a chain place like Dunks. But ill take what I can get
Veteran owned, with a social justice mission, and terrific coffee. Smooth and well-brewed. Also some luscious treats. The cinnamon roll was perfect...enough icing but not overly sweet.
Great coffee and I love their business model to help homeless vets.
Super cute shop. There is parking and an entrance in the back! Thats great for me, being disabled.
Loved the honey lavender latte. Great coffee and service
10/10 customer service and coffee is perfect!
My fav jacksonville coffee shop!
Wonderful pour over selection and friendly baristas. Also does a lot for the community with the profits and is veteran owned which is a plus!
Great place to get coffee the owner has a great story of his journey through life really enjoyed my time in his shop plus the coffee has a great taste even better then Starbucks.
Super friendly batista, coffee and pastries were great. 5 stars.
Expensive coffee, but for a good cause. Pretty close to a lot of stuff in town
I LOVE everything about this place! From its location in historic Springfield, to the decor, to the quality of the coffee and the passion of those serving it. Order an espresso and watch how much craftsmanship goes into the process. Something you can taste and savor in ever sip. And if that wasnt enough reason to go, lets talk about there cause. Theyre deeply connected to helping the veteran and homeless community.
The cafe con leche is the best, and Ill never forget one day when it was pouring rain and the owner offered to walk me to my car since I didnt have an umbrella. All the staff are super friendly too!
Barista Lorenzo was awesome and personable. Coffee was fantastic and my wife loved their oatmeal raisin cookie. Love the vision and passion of the ownership.
A cozy little coffee shop in an area of town that is on the way up. The coffee is great, staff polite and respectful. Quick bites and snacks. The atmosphere is very casual and relaxed. No one being overly intrusive, which given the location, was a concern. This place is tucked away in a shop right next to the Vystar Credit Union at Main Street and 7th, you locals will know. This little Oasis is a welcome slice of paradise in the neighborhood now I dont have to go across town for decent coffee.
My first time visiting was very impressive. I was met with a friendly welcome and a brief explanation of the mission of this coffee shop. Helping Veterans to assimilate back into civilian life is always at the top of my list. Aside from that, my regular ground coffee was luscious and hot! The gluten free pecan maple muffin was off-the-chain delicious! Thanks Guys!!! Salute!
An overall good coffee shop. The prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is perfect to study in with large tables with outlets. You can mix a variety of flavored syrups in your latte which makes a huge difference!
Really good staff, coffee and ambience.
Pleasant barista staff member who listened to my request for my Vanilla latte. My latte is great. Will come back if I ever need coffee on this side of town! Thank you!
Absolutely amazing. I am impressed every time I go in there. They have great coffee and assorted drinks. They get their baked goods from a local bakery. Their staff is helpful, knowledgeable, and nice. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.
Pretty much my favorite place in the world.
Nice friendly environmentVeteran ownedProbably one of the best Cafe con Leché’sI have had in quite a while.
The employees were personable, knowledgable and worked hard to make me feel welcome
Gluten Free foodie alert. I absolutely love this coffee shop. The vibe, the staff, the coffee is one of the best on Jax and they have awesome pastries and a cinnamon bun that will keep you coming back for more those are not gluten free but everyone I taken there has raved about it. They do have a gluten free option usually a loaf or some kinda cake and its yummy. This is my go to spot to unwind and read or get in the zone on a project or meet clients. Really great spot highly recommend.
1st time visiting today, great little place. They are open on Sunday for part of the day. The sign on the door will be changed. I had the Black Eye, and a cinnamon bun that were both amazing. Lots of electric outlets available along the front bar for charging! Sound system was noticeably high quality. Great addition to Springfield! Well be back soon!
Food was so appetizing. The place has a nice atmosphere. Food is similar to a place in San Francisco I liked.
This place was my favorite shop to hang out in. Jacksonville definitely has an up and coming coffee scene and it took me a while to find the good spots but I finally did. I love the mission of this place and it was in the historic neighborhood. Low key and hip. Not fancy, not pretentious, not too cool...just right.
Pleasant baristas always. The atmosphere is good and its great to have a coffee shop in the neighborhood. Oh yeah, the coffee is great.
New selection of food is a real plus. 😁
Had my first commercially produced pour over and it was delicious!Naturally processed Ethiopian was smooth and flavorful. I paired it with the vanilla bean ice cream for a nice hot/cold treat.
Excellent customer service. Bought the warrior medium roast and my wife ordered a black eye. Excellent quality, the employees were wonderful, and the owner was very encouraging and great. Can’t wait to try the dark roast and return to support this coffee shop.
Great coffee.. Awesome Customer service!
As a long time customer of Social Grounds I can tell you that the staff, food and coffee is always top quality! I love getting an Americano and a cinnamon roll. I am so thankful to have this awesome shop in the Springfield community, adds so much to the area! The shop is also very involved in homeless and veteran outreaches, all of the employees seem to have a heart for the community and those in need!
The atmosphere was awesome. The Danish was yummy since the cafe con leche was great. But my favorite part is that it is owned by a vet who supports vets. Being a veteran myself it shows that theres always a connection.
This was my first visit to this coffee shop. My cappuccino was perfect and lovely. My husbands Americana was quite good as well. The shop was clean and comfortable. We will likely walk there again.
Social grounds has been my little spot for a while now. Since I moved to Springfield in December I’ve been coming more and more. I love the taste of their coffee, their espresso truly speaks quality. They also have fresh snacks like coffee cake, quiche and donuts. Very yummy. The owner there is super nice and compassionate, and you can tell he loves what he does and loves coffee. Abby and Allie are really cool and know me by name, as well as my order LOL. Very sweet girls and do a very good job at making lattes. Love this place. Prefer it over any other coffee (Even my free coffee at home)
Best place to chill and get a good coffee and delicious little cakes and such
Great place, amazing coffee, in a cozy part of town.
Great coffee, they take their time and brew everything to perfection. The best part is the vision of the place. It is veteran owned and when you buy from them you help out wounded warriors, homeless vets, etc.. They even have some food but mainly just coffee and the beans they use are from all around.
Amazing people, good hearted, and great coffee!
Brandone thank you for your amazing customer service and the morning smile. Its great to see being a new customer and the place have such a warm feel. Ill be back.
Neat little coffee shop nestled in Springfield! If youre looking for a coffee shop where the crew has a smile on their face, arent bothered to help you and seem to have a positive outlook, then this is it. Its a welcome attitude change from usual snobby hipsters shops that are too absorbed in themselves to help or make you feel welcome. Oh, and the coffee and hot cocoa are quite awesome and the fresh-made pop tarts are delicious. Two thumbs up!
Lovely atmosphere and yummy treats. It’s a bit of a hike for me but I love it and try to come as often as I can. I love supporting local business and you should to! Take the time to check them out! It’s well worth it.
I just discovered this awesome little spot while I was training for a new position at work. Ive come about 5 times in the last 2 weeks when time allows for a quick walk across the street or a stop before work. Everything is fresh brewed by the cup and the pastries are equally as good. Every time Ive walked in they call me by name and Sergi is great at what he does. Hes made every single drink Ive gotten. I also had the immense pleasure of meeting the owner and being able to have a conversation with him was amazing. I found so many small connections between his world and mine AND it was great to see a business owner so involved in the day to day operations. This tiny little coffee shop on main street in Jacksonville will blow your mind and really stands up for what their name promises. If youre ever travelling down main and decide you want a coffee stop at Social Grounds, make a friend while you wait for your drink. You wont be disappointed!
Incredible product. Espresso is expertly poured and rivals that of local Bold Bean and Urban Bean. They have some tasty treats, wide variety of drinks, gluten free options, and convenient parking. I also appreciated the outlets near the tables a lot. Staff was also observant and non-intrusive. Ill be back here... A LOT.
Nice to see a fresh new cafe on the Main; the coffee is excellent and the cinnamon bun is superb! The staff is friendly and accommodating to your needs. Well definetly make this our go to place when in Springfield. Brewed ice tea would be nice.On my return visit this fall I highly recommend the pretzel bagels! And the coffee still is the best.
My favorite coffee shop. Great quality coffee, nice place to plug in and work or connect and chat. Plus they have gluten free dessert and thats huge for me!
I really love this coffee shop. Its very quiet and they treat everyone who comes in like family. The baristas are very knowledgeable and have excellent suggestions. The coffee is really good. Not too bitter or acidic no matter if you get bold medium or light. All flavors have a smooth taste. The lattes are wonderfully made with a great balance of milk to coffee. A little lacking on the baked goods but thats not really why you should go in the first place. A little gentrification going on with this one but all are welcomed. Overall a great place to meet for coffee!
Favorite coffee spot in the neighborhood! It’s easy to get lost in work in here. The space is inviting, the music is on point, and the coffee is delicious. If you want to try something that will more than likely knock your socks off, try the Black Eye. Will definitely give you a good energy kick; just make sure to eat something before doing so.
Good to know a nice little neighborhood coffee place. Small but charming in a non big chain way. Hope it can continue to succeed!
I am so glad that Springfield has a unique coffeehouse in our neighborhood. Veteran owned and procured speacialty coffees from around the world. Fresh...made to order drinks prepared by talented folks who know what they are doing. They offer some sweet things to go with your coffee. The staff is friendly and caring . The place is clean and the music pleasant. My go-to place to read and socialize with neighbors. Soon, they will have sidewalk seating with tables. (we will be able to enjoy cigars again!)
Nice place. I ordered the coffee cake. The texture is nice and the flavor is good. The espresso is rich in flavor. The guy are the resguster was super nice and helpful.
I cant begin to put in to words how much I love this place! Social Grounds is everything that I love in a business. There product is second to none. I LOVE their Colombian coffee. I also love their lattes. You can tell that the owner knows exactly what he is doing when it comes to coffee! But what I also love about this business is what they stand for. They are all about giving back to the community. It is a veteran owned business who serves the homeless and poor of our city. And he does it every week and has been doing it for years. Some people talk and others walk. These guys walk the walk! If you want to spend your money somewhere in which you will get the best product and at the same time support an amazing cause. Social Grounds Coffee is that place. I live 30 minutes away but will find the time to spend my money here because I believe so much in what they stand for. Keep up the great work Social Grounds! We believe in you!
Nice calm atmosphere. Great coffee and great service. I definitely recommend the cinnamon rolls!
