This coliseum of comics has a decent funko pop collection a large amount of comics Didnt see any war hammer figures but they did havea smell amount of d&d figures Is a little smaller than some of the other ones here in Florida But it makes up for itself with the atmosphere friendly staff Also if you do decide to stop on by make sure to look up as soon as you walk in cause apparently myself included missed the ceiling when we walked in and you will be surprised with what you see

Good store, lots of graphic novel and comics. Jonathan is very knowledgeable and the customer service is great! The other card store next door is wayyyy over priced so do your business here. Will be a return customer.

Small shop.. decent selection of comics along with a few other items as well.. for example, I am a Gundam (model kit) builder and they had a few items of youre new to the hobby and want to get into it

Dont know much about comic books or even the superheros but took my son here to look around and he loved it. All the cool action figures really caught his attention. Lol nice people and bigger than it looks from outside.

I went into there place of business hoping to sell some 1980s comics that had been left to me by my uncle who had recently passed away. When I asked if they bought comics that were of significant value there response was yes. Now Im no expert or even a novice regarding such matters however I had done some research online about how prices are determined and what the comics I currently possessed would be worth given their current condition. After speaking with there employees I was told that the best they could offer me was approximately 2-4% of what, given there condition and certificate value was after my own evaluation from several reputable online establishments online. At this point my partner and I are taking our business elsewhere. We get on their member pull list and never get called. We never get the comics we want, so there is just no point of staying when it’s obvious they don’t want our business. We had such high hopes. If you want you comics the day they’re out for first prints, go somewhere else.

Not much into comics but stopped in with my boyfriend and found so much more. Board games (crazy good selection for nerds and families), figurines and POPs and the staff were great as well. Very friendly and helpful and gave great suggestions. Definitely going back for the Black Friday sale... Spotted some great Christmas worthy gifts for the nerd in my boyfriend 😄

I get all of my comics here and painted a ceiling tile for them. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and great selection.Edit: i used to really like this place and gave it 5 stars. Since it got bought out i hate going in to get my pulls. The staff doesnt really know anything about the comics i read or what im interested in. The whole experience is cringy and uncomfortable. I think its time to start buying comics online.

The staff here is amazing! They’re so helpful and very knowledgeable. Awesome inventory as well. We’ve come week after week from out of town for this place. And with every visit, it keeps getting better. Can’t wait to get back!

Ive been to several comic stores all across Florida, and this one persists to trump the rest. Not only do they have the widest collection of paperbacks/graphic novels Ive been able to find, they also have an amazing selection of single-issue comics. The range in reading material is excellent, even having a bookshelf full of manga which I didnt expect but was elated to find.The staff are very kind and the overall atmosphere of the store is a great one. Additionally, the store itself is clean and also (seeing as we are still in the midst of a pandemic) maintains the COVID-19 guidelines, which I personally appreciate. Though I cant speak to selling comics at this store, I definitely can say that their overall selection of comics and manga alike exceeds my expectations every time. I highly recommend this place.

This is a reliable place for direct subscription comics, bound editions, and back issues, which is all I buy there. They have expanded their selection of toys and tabletop games in recent years, but I dont buy those things. For years and for three previous owners there have been two main booktenders Jonathan and Amber, who are comics people who get it. They know their customers, make suggestions, have conversations, provide a bespoke comics shopping experience. They are the reason I still shop here, despite the fact that the shop was acquired by a company that owns 9 stores around the state. Many of the changes have been welcome, but not all. The place is losing some of the things that make it unique. Ill still go there as long as Jonathan and Amber work there. I love the service they provide. Its my go-to for comics.

You got to love a place that lets you indulge your childhood. Jonathan and Amber are the icing on this comic book store cake. Youre in good hands when they are there! How can you not already be there, why are you still reading this? Also, they offer purchase stamps for every $10 you spend and back issue bucks for purchasing new issues.... you should be a subscriber.

Friendly staff and great selection of comics, trades and Funko Pops. Indie Back issues is something left to be desired but they plenty of Marvel and DC back issues. Talk to the staff and they will do the best they can to track down any issue.

Miss it being black hive. But great employees great atmosphere..great selection both new releases and back issues. Not to mention statues toys funkos etc. Have some decent keys pinned on the back wall easy to see and priced fairly. Probably my second favorite comic book store in Jacksonville.

Outstanding service every time I go in there. I work at Subway inside of St. Vincents hospital right around the corner, so before and/or after my shift, I always go in there. Whether it is Amber or Jon, theyre always staying busy and doing something, and greet every customer with a welcoming smile. I honestly feel like part of the Coliseum of Comics family. It has come to the point where I only get my comics from this store and this location. Today, I walked in when Amber was busy and she still made time to get what i needed. I swear she had a million things going on, especially since I walked in a few minutes after they opened. Jon and Amber are both great when theres a lot going and extremely patient. The world needs more workers like them.

I liked it better when it was locally owned and operated. New Staff is impersonal and new management is very annoying when theyre in the store; spamming me with up-sells after Ive already said No to everything except trying to get my Pulls.

I love the staff at this location. Amber and Jonathan are always really nice and really helpful. Plus, since it became Coliseum of Comics, I love the new, bigger layout of the store and the increased selection. I feel like theyve kept the soul of the smaller, personal comic book shop now with the benefits of a larger store behind them. Win-win.

They have all the new comics. All of the back issues you can think of and many popular trade paperbacks. All of the product is easy to find and if you have a problem the friendly, knowledgeable staff will help you. The store ordered what wasnt in stock for me. I have lived all over the place in the military and seen many shops, and this is one of the best.

They have greatly expanded their graphic novel selection. Good back issue and new comic selections. Now that House of Comics is closed this is the best comic store in Jacksonville, with maybe the exception of Mystic Mountain. This town is way too speed out.

I have been looking for 2 specific comics for the last couple months and this place had both of them! Didnt catch the girls name but she was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about comics (go figure) and knew exactly where everything was. I highly recommend this place. The rep in the store is rude. Reminds you of the comic book guy from the Simpsons. They cancelled our pull due to the fact that we had not been in the store for a while (because of medical issues) before we would get a call from the nice young lady there she would remind us to come grab our pull. We asked why no call and the guy said it should have be a call we said there was not. We ask why have contact info if it is not used. Store reps response was it is not my job to keep track of your pull. That was not called for you could have simply apologized and seen if they could have ordered the back issues for us we would have paid the difference. We only bought from the store because we liked them and wanted to support our local store. We have been customers for 10 years before this was Coliseum and spend $60 to $150 when we come in. They have lost a customer for life. We use to recommend this place and say yes you can get it cheaper online but these guys are awesome not anymore just buy it online not worth the experience anymore.

I decided to start my 12 year old and 9 year old on the road to Comic book collecting, so I Googled the closest one. I am so happy that this is the location that came up. The staff are so knowledgeable and made awesome suggestions of which series to start my kids out on! I rediscovered my own love for comics while going through their selection. They organize them by publishing company, then alphabetical by character/comic series name, then in order they were released in. We now go every weekend. They have also gone above and beyond to help my wife (who is a teacher) find appropriate comic books for her to give to her students.

I was disappointed at the amount of product that this store carries compared to its much smaller sister store not to far away. They have much more space but not a lot of inventory. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

I’ve been coming to this store for years. I’ve been a customer through many name changes and new owners. I’ve stayed a customer strictly because of the team of employees. They were the dynamic duo. Friendly and caring to everyone that came through the door. They remembered everyone’s names and always had your books ready for you as soon as you walk in. But today I go into the store and they aren’t there. I learn they had been let go. I guess that’s what happens when you take a small local business and go corporate. It’s a shame. They were the heart and soul of that store and you’ve lost my business because of the decision to get rid of them.

Not everyone was happy about it, including myself at one point. But, I gave them a chance and stuck with them . I do miss the old duo, they had become friends. But business is business and I am very Happy that a comic store is still open and running in Riverside. They have worked hard to keep my business and have succeeded.

I live in Saint Johns county and the drive to this shop is worth the trip! Tons of inventory and the staff is super friendly and helpful. This is such a neat place in one of the coolest areas of the city!

I love a good comic book store, and this plaxe is great. They had some great optuons for my daughters. The only suggestion I have is for them to separate the adult stuff from the kids stuff. While my kids were scoping DC girls stuff, they were close to some stuff they are not ready to see.

Have been a regular for three years and the parent company that has taken the reigns is running it straight into the ground. Theyre removing indy comics from prominence, significantly inflating prices, and becoming less hospitable by the day. The individuals that ran the shop and made it feel like a local community hub were unjustly let go and now it feels more like an overpriced tourist trap than a place that welcomes the community it exists in.

A lot of neat things to see since Coliseum took over. However, their back issues are now seriously overpriced. I was surprised to see the new pricing since I had bought back issues from this shop for years, always very reasonably priced. Stuff that is in the 50 cent bin in other shops is priced over $4 per book here. Hopefully the new owners will adjust to the new area.

Great shop with a huge selection and tons of great comics. Also had Manga and minis in the back. Tons of other figurines and even had movies playing on TV. Would definitely recommend a visit.

There is a wide variety of comic books and even board games and figurines. It has a very welcoming feel too.

The shop is beautiful and well stocked, but the young lady working the register very obviously needs to be retrained.I wanted to try to sell a couple of Funko pops, some friends had reccomended the store, so I decided to go check it outAfter finding out they didnt buy funkos I still wanted to buy something so I started looking around. The young lady obviously thought I was trying to steal something because she made a point to come to the back of the store where I was perusing board game stuff and stand there (while faking a phone call so she could see what I was doing) I let it go and kept looking.A few minutes later I found something I wanted and went to pay, the young lady was almost surprised and her tune changed from annoyed and suspicious to annoyed and seemingly frazzled.There are plenty of shops in Jacksonville that wont treat you like a criminal for looking around. I highly suggest those shops and avoid this one.
