Dont try to get paint here. I have been to EListway ACE Hardware at Normandy two times and BOTH times the service was poor. I was there both times to purchase Benjamin Moore paint. The first time, the person who was filling my paint order told me she had to leave for a while to pick up her child from school. She said for me to wait. Since I was in the middle of filling an order for three cans of paint, I had no choice. I waited for 20 minutes for her to get back and another person began waiting for her too. The second time, there was no one at the paint counter and the manager (a woman) said for me to wait. I waited for a while, then another manager (a man) came out and I said this is bad service because I had a problem getting my paint order filled the last time. He said, Well, you can just leave then! The two people who seem to be the managers, a man and a woman, dont know how to fill the paint orders and are rude! They dont have enough help and now I know why.

Bought a new Stihl chainsaw here last weekend and I was totally impressed with the customer service and product knowledge. After using HD and Lowes for a long time this Ace will be my new go to store.

Clean store, helpful associates, well stocked and easy to navigate store.

We were so pleased with our experience at this Ace. I ordered a grill for my husband for Father’s Day. The owner had it assembled and delivered to me himself at no charge. Everyone was so kind and helpful throughout the entire process. We will definitely be shopping there again!

The store has just about anything you need in hardware and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. This particular store does not have a garden center but many garden supplies. If youre after plants and seedlings youll have to go to a ace garden center

I have only used this particular establishment for service repair on my Stihl trimmer (thus far). Mr David is extremely knowledgeable and helpful for me personally, I plan on bringing all of my service to him in the future

Tried to visit this store to support a local business, but they were closed, even though the hours posted on google and on the door say they should be open til 5:30 on Saturdays. One thing is for sure… that won’t ever happen at Home Depot. It’s hard to continue going out of my way to shop here if I can’t trust their operating hours to be accurate. Disappointed.

Employees polite, but did not have what I needed

You know at first it has an old neighborhood hardware store feel to it. Reminds me of hardware stores of the past. Not the cheapest guys in town, but just to trot in and grab what you need from a surprisingly large/small inventory, is okay. ... However, the owners spy/stalk you in the store. Looking at you suspiciously the entire time you are in the store. Aisle by aisle. A tad bit rude as well. I have been in there several times, same experience every single time. Its strange. Always rude and always stalking. You try hard to not feel like a thief, but they try harder to make you feel like one. Not much browsing with the owners stalking, constantly in your face. ... Next time, Ill drive the extra distance to Home Depot or Lowes. I have had it with Ace. I will go where the customers are treated like customers and not thiefs. Sorry for this bad review, but it is what it is.

When the store first opened they seem to be excited and caring about their customers but after a while the newness wore off. Sorry but I must agree with the post on here about the the way the staff stalks and spies on customers. Its not because Ace is the place with the helpful hardware staff. The Doctor who owns this Ace should have stuck with the medical field and ask the professional Ace franchise stores to come in to his Normandy location and train their staff.. I promise and do solemnly swear that I will never go to this location again. In addition I will tell anyone who will listen to me of my negative experience at Elistway Ace Hardware.

Only ones working are the cashiers, hope you know what you want and where it is. Because theres no one to help or no one offering to help.

I was doing some shopping in the area and the Lady at the registered ask me if she could help me and when I said Im just looking she got the manager who asked me to leave. I have shopped there many times but many things from there for my job and personally. When I call to speak to a Manager about one of their employees I was hung up on. I will never shop at this location again.

Recently was shopping for an air compressor when the very old man came an approached me rudely and told me if I don’t have any business here to get out. Looks like it’s a family own business because I noted to the lady who looked similar to the male (wife maybe) and all she did was nod her head. Plus he didn’t even want to give me his name. Advise the neighbor shoppers to not come here and if you don’t want to feel welcome.

This is a very peculiar store. But today’s experience could’ve been better. One of the owners locked the doors prior to the official closing time of the store. That’s bad for safety. I won’t being using this Ace store again. It’s a much better experience at Bennet’s and they don’t act like you’re stealing from them.

This place has the feel of a neighborhood hardware store. People working here are friendly and happy to show you to something you want to purchase. They have a great selection of items. Its SO much better shopping here then all the parking, crowds, no help, bad attitudes you get at the big box stores.

Great friendly helpful Ace Hardware!

After turning me away for not wearing a useless mask, AFTER shopping there 2-3 days per week...buying everything from new power tools to nuts and bolts: Ive decided if they dont appreciate my business, I dont owe them loyalty.Home Depot has better quality anyway.

They carry some things the big stores do not.

Dont know if the store is still in COVID time, but showed up at 5:15 and the doors were locked. Schedule says 5:30.

Extremely disappointed with the lack of common courtesy and decency with the manager of this business. My husband is deaf and was shopping today. While browsing, one of the employees came up and was very kind asking if he needed help. Next thing you know the manager is standing there staring at him with an angry face and mumbling something behind the mask which my husband couldn’t understand considering he’s deaf and needs to be able to read lips to understand someone which he said to the guy. The man proceeded to yell at my husband to get out instead of responding to the fact that my husband explained he was deaf and could not understand him.

Entered store and was followed around by the owner stealthily, he stood at the end of the aisle and moved to the next one as I did. I bought a can of spray paint for a project that I couldnt wait on and decided to buy the rest of the hardware somewhere else because of the owners creepy behavior.To the owner: The feeling of being watched is creepy so please back off a bit. If you are that worried that you feel the need to breath down your customer necks to stop potential theft then maybe dont open a store in a rough part of town. Or at the very least install more security cameras instead of following people around.

I told the owners I would never step foot in their store again! Such a shame as I am a huge proponent of supporting local and small business owners and over such a little thing. I tried to return water softener cleaner that I didn’t need. I had purchased this before knowing exactly what I needed for my particular water softener. It cost more than $30 and more than 30 days prior to me trying to return. The return policy is 30 days, full disclosure here. However, being the owner they could have made an exception. They know I travel A LOT and was unable to return within the 30 days. I used to spend quite a bit of $ here but not anymore since! This store is less than 5 miles from my home but I will gladly drive a bit further for someone who appreciates my business. I do not recommend spending your $ here at this location! The owners are horrible and rude as I always tried to be pleasant and nice while shopping here prior to this incident. Go somewhere else for your hardware needs!

Went to the store this morning to get something and the sign says 8:00 a.m. they open knock on the door its 8:14 theyre just they just shook their head and shrugged their shoulders and when you call them on the phone theyre waiting for someone to come in that can open the store will not be back.

I generally enjoy shopping at this Ace hardware. Its really annoying though that twice Ive been there at 10 minutes to 6:00 and they already have the doors locked. When I come in, Im in there for 2 minutes and I know exactly what Im getting. When you close early its a pain in the butt.

The owner is rude. If you order anything to be shipped to the store it will more than likely come in late. You are better off spending your money some where else. which is sad because some of the other employees there seem like nice people. If you are African American be prepared to be followed in the store as well.

I have place an order online. The manager/owner state that the product was advertised wrong. But I paid for the order of my needs. Besides he can grant me any discount or any good offer for their mistake, his words was there is nothing I can do about it. So I request to cancel the order [again he dont know how to cancel an order online].... if that its the way to manage your business then you are lost. I leave without product, waste my time, and now I have to deal with their costumer service that sucks. Bottom line avoid order from this stores.

Super fast and in and out store

Both online and store hours state they close at 5:30. I arrived at 5:15 and they were already closed up. Just needed one small item. Sucks my local hardware store decided to close early. I get cleaning for covid, but it seems like an excuse to close early because cleaning will happen regardless.

Please expand your stainless metric hardware. I have to go to other Ace locations to find the hardware I need which is annoying because I am in walking distance to this location. You know ace is the helpful place but the people at this store are amazing! They went above and beyond to make sure I got what I needed and when the owner saw I had my hands full with my 3 year old daughter he helped me to the car. Thank you all. Had quite the negative experience with this store. Frustrated enough to write a review. I live in a mobile home, and for those that don’t know, Ace is one of the only hardware stores that accommodate parts needed for the odd sizes and strange ways things are built in/on a mobile home. Around 1o’clock in the afternoon I go to get a plumbing piece to fix a water leak under my mobile home. The part wasn’t right, so I made my wAy back around 4:20 to exchange the part, only to see all of the employees ducking under the closing gate to leave and go home! My family and I had been without water for 2 days and the store wasn’t supposed to close until 5pm! I was told by the employees that “their system went down” when really everyone just wanted to leave and go home early! After reading other reviews, my theory is that these employees are not over bearing because they are trying to be helpful, they are over bearing because they want the customers out as quickly as possible!!! Rude, and I do not appreciate it! Thank God Home Depot was able to deliver, or we would have been 3 days without water!!! Will not get my business!

Bought a shallow well pump and found out I needed a deep well pump, went to return it 3 days later and was told that I was trying to scam them by returning a used pump, the words from the owners mouth, but he was there when I purchased the pump. A scammer and a liar, not a customer service business what so ever.

I went to the store and was treated like a criminal. Parts were more expensive than Home Depot and Lowes. When I returned a part. they were highly upset, they told me it was shameful, and told me not to shop in their store. I was within the return policy. I will not recommend anyone ever shop in this store. I wish I could give zero stars.

I ordered christmas lights. Got home was told they were the wrong ones called the store and they refused to refund the purchase. They dont care as evident by the fact the owner only resonds to possitive reviews. Do yourself a favor and go to lowes or home depot everytime you try to support a small business they screw you.

I walk in and are immediately bombarded by do you need help from at least three employees. I work literally across the street from this place, and was in full uniform. I work as a customer service manager. I had a NAMETAG on. I decline help as it made me uncomfortable to be attacked upon entry, and I’m just looking for pliers for my job ACROSS THE STREET. I quickly notice this man in a gator shirt walking back and forth as I’m looking for this tool, and he’s blatantly staring. I pause to look at light plugs just to make sure I’m not crazy, and sure enough There he is. Slowly pacing from left to right, staring me down as though I had intentions of shoving an entire outlet in my pants. Confused as to why I am being watched so heavily, I ask if I can help this man. He starts going off and getting excessively close to my person, talking about how he’s the owner and he can do whatever he wants and that I need to leave and I, as a representative of actual customer service was perplexed that an OWNER of an OVERPRICED hardware store would treat someone like this.It’s Sunday for Lords sake. I hope these owners get the blessings they so terribly need. I’m disgusted reading other people’s experiences here. I never planned to shop here to begin with, but after that encounter I certainly never will again! Shameful people run shameful businesses.

They dock our hours, us employees! Claiming the district manager said they could if a customer steals, I as a employee called corporate, HR, and Fair Labor division after being sent home because I said that is illegal. They cant legally take money out of our checks. On top of that I was sent home so more hours taken. Ive worked for two other aces and they would not treat their employees or customers EVER this way.

They have good prices and they have coupons this is where i would shop for my dad for Christmas
