These folks are THE authority on anything Volvo. We have bought parts from the for many years and seek advice on Volvo issues. I would give them 10 stars if possible. They are very nice, as well.
Best places in town for Volvo boat parts. Very helpful staff, that is friendly. They do close for lunch, so I recommend calling ahead. They will pull your order and have it ready for you for fast service.
Very personable people and they had what we needed in stock.
Fordham marine service is awesome. Will is 100% customer service oriented and goes far beyond the extra mile to please his customers
Best Volvo Penta dealer on the East Coast
What a great guy that Nelson Fordham is
Great people, great business and great service small personal, professional. No one else will work on my d6-350 volvo.maybe a little slow at times but GOOD THINGS COME TO PEOPLE WHO WAIT I drive from West coast to the east coast dragging a 12,000 lb. 28 ft Albemarle (no easy task) to have them do my work. Always have time to answer my dumbest questions about any problems Im experiencing. Again I cant recommend them enough!!Give them a try you want be disappointed.
Always good service
Nelson and team have taken great care of my boat over the past 7 years and do great work as well as take the time to explain how to best maintain the boat afterwards. Great team to work with.
Two brothers (Fordham) run this Volvo Penta Diesel engine service company. They are skilled and honest. We had routine 60 hour maintenance on newel installed D2-55. Prompt, knowledgeable and fair. Highly recommend them.
WARNING - THESE GUYS ARE SHADY!Fordham took 6 Months to even get to our Boat in for Service and then they had our Boat for over an additional 2 Months and NEVER even Started on the Repairs! Then they wanted a HUGE Deposit for Work to be Done...RED FLAG!!! The Funny thing is...they DID Manage to remove our Prop (which was in perfectly Good Condition) to send out for Re-Conditioning...and then they said they were going to replace it with a used Prop from another Boat...WRONG! These Guys are VERY Shady and Inconsistent, not to mention WAY Over-Priced! Save Yourself the Frustration and Heartache and Go elsewhere!
Best Volvo Penta guys in the biz
Great Service. We were trailering our Ranger Tug to the Florida Keys. I had done a complete engine service and winterized the engine in November. Just before we left Pa. on Feb 5th I wanted to make sure the engine would start and it did not. Once in Brunswick Georgia we called Fordham Marine Service in Jacksonville and they said bring it in Wednesday morning first thing. Nelson one of the owners jumped up in the boat found the primary fuel filter was not completely tight. He tightened it and primed the engine and it started right up. He let it run for a few minutes and we did a restart, all was well. I asked what I owed him, Nelson said you dont owe me anything thing!! I said how about 50 dollars and he said ok he would buy his guys lunch. This was not a major issue but they took us right in and go on it found the problem all this in about 20 minutes. Nice people.
Every time that I have needed a part for my boat, they are able to get it for me, I had a good experience with their parts ordering side of business. My issues with Fordham Marine came into play when I took my boat there for minor engine repairs. It took them three months to get my boat back to me, and they changed out parts that did not need to be changed out and charged me a fortune. They still did not fix the original issue and I picked my boat up and took it elsewhere to actually get it fixed. It did not seem to bother them that they took way to long to do almost nothing. I will never take my boat back to them.
They give great service and really work with a customer.
I strongly recommend against using Fordham Marine Service. They changed out the Volvo Penta sail drive on our 43’ sailboat in August, 2015, moving the existing prop from the old sail drive to the new sail drive. Thirty engine hours later (and about 10 additional sailing hours) the prop fell off. We were traveling out in the ocean from Brunswick, GA to Charleston, SC, and when we started our engine outside Charleston harbor, we had no thrust in forward or reverse. Once we got towed into a dock, we found that the propeller was missing from the sail drive. It had fallen off in the ocean. After being hauled, we could see that the sail drive was in pristine condition…no sign of hitting anything. The mechanic who installed a new prop in Charleston and the boatyard manager where the work was being done both agreed that there was no reason for that prop to have fallen off unless it had been installed incorrectly. I spoke with Nelson Fordham and he refused any responsibility for the prop falling off. The total cost to us for the new prop (including haul/launch and painting the new prop) was $5,000. This on top of delaying our trip!Further, don’t think that having work done by a Volvo Penta dealer will be of any benefit. Volvo Penta pushes the customer service responsibility down to the local dealers. So, if you are dissatisfied with work done by a local Volvo Penta dealer, don’t think you can go to Volvo Penta America Customer Service for any resolution. We tried and got nowhere.
Good service, great staff. Tight fit getting the boat in the lot, though.
Need Volvo penta parts for your boat, they are the place to go!!
