Untrained and unknowable mechanics resulted in multiple trips back to this repair shop in order to have a road safe bike. They even damaged my bike and still refuse to repair/replace the damage part. Shameful business practices. Stay away!

My husband recently went through 4 rounds of intense chemotherapy at the beginning of this year and during the treatment he mentioned he wanted a bike. So I got him a 79 Honda Gold Wing to restore upon feeling better. He didnt finish chemo until April and we decided in February to have a shop take on the bike, that way he could actually enjoy it by the summer. He initially took the bike to Nakutis and 2 months went by with no work - So he found Combat Cycles. (Its fair to note that many other shops in the area turned down the project as the parts are difficult to find and they didnt know if they could deliver a finished bike.)On May 31st my husband dropped the bike off to Combat Cycles and they said they could have it done by July. This seemed extremely reasonable considering we supplied the tires, throttle tube and cable, new hand controls etc.So all in all, they were asked and agreed to do the following: mount the tires, install the new throttle tube and throttle cable, install new hand controls, rebuild the carburetors, rewrap the exhaust manifold... and then just a basic tune up and brake inspection. He also asked for them to check the bike for overheating. My husband works on Camp Lejeune so he drove by the shop twice a day for several weeks and noticed his bike was left outside the entire time after they had assured him they were already working on it (the bike had not even moved). After three weeks my husband emailed them and then again on the 20th of August. He was told by the front desk that the bike would be ready the following weekend. So almost a full month later he went in to pick up his bike and they said they had been trying to call and email him and acted like he had changed his number or ignored their attempts at contacting him. There was never a missed call or email sent from Combat Cycles. The starter solenoid seized up because of the rain, the battery was dead and all the new parts my husband put on himself were faded from being left outside. The rebuilt carburetors got clogged because they didnt recognize there was no fuel filter. After reinstallation they realized the manifolds were cracked. So that added additional time which is fully understandable. It got to the point where my husband was showing up two or three times a week to see if they were even working on his bike. He even acquired and brought in a lower manifold because they were having trouble finding one. Here it is, September, and now the bike actually has more work required before he dropped it off. The issue is that the wrongs should have been identified BEFORE any work was actually started. A full technical inspection is standard procedure for any mechanic shop. Then an estimate and then parts ordered. Not this guessing game that takes three months and is filled with continuous lies between business owner and client. They even messed with things that were 100% fine like the brand new electrical. Its not that my husband deserved special treatment because hes military (I mean, we are in Jacksonville.) And its not like he deserved special treatment because hes had cancer. He deserved basic honesty and decent business practice which was sadly not met with the unprofessionalism here at Combat Cycles.Maybe this is the place for custom paint jobs and unique mods but it surely is not the place for timely or even honest mechanic work. I wish they would have just said they couldnt take on the bike instead of wasting our time and our money only to return us with a bike in worse shape than when he brought it in. My husband was able to locate parts that they were not able to find with a simple Google search and will be finishing the bike himself at this point.* The bike was dropped off May 31st and picked up this Wednesday - September 5th.*** cancer has nothing to do with my review, parts availability, or your reply - its the dishonesty and unprofessionalism.*** and yes we were not charged for the work that was required for THE mechanics oversights or errors.

This is a busy little place, but they definitely take care of you when you walk in the door. They know you by name, and anything from a 5000 mile service to a full on custom build, theyve got you. I am all about supporting local businesses, and they have always done me right. Ive been going there for about 10 years or so now. I also go through them to buy my accessories instead of the big companies. Whether you are getting items from the Fat Book, Custom Dynamics or any of the books you usually see, they can get them in pretty quick. Support local businesses.

I initially took a bike to Lejeune Motorsports and they charged $500 to diagnose the problem. They ruled it out as an air leak. About 2 1/2months later of waiting I finally got a call from them telling me the initial leak was not it the problem and needed to add 3 more hours of worktime ($200) to diagnose the problem again. I tried my best to explain how I was under the impression that $500 was the total cost to diagnose the problem and not the first attempt followed by extra $200 every time they miss the problem. They “assured” me it was the carbs but could not “guarantee” me that was it. Afraid of being on the hook again I decided to take it back.I took it to Combat Motorcycles and told them I had the same issue. They also believe it was the carbs and charged $200. They called me a few days back, they did replace an o-ring that was causing issues but that it still had acceleration problems. They said they were going continue to check it and would get back to me. After about two weeks they called me back and said that the issue is in the cylinder and would require about $700 but they didn’t recommend for this bike (bike is worth about 2K). They didn’t charge me for that “extra” diagnosis OR the delivery fee to bring the bike to my house.I’m just glad I didn’t go through with Lejeune Motorsports otherwise I would have been on the hook with probably $400 of “extra” diagnoses (since the carbs was not it) and who knows how much more in parts. You might pay for “their knowledge” at Lejeune Motorsports but I rather pay for humbleness and sincerity at Combat Motorcycles. I will use Combat Motorcycle if I have any issues with my next bike. Thanks guys.

Absolutely awesome business. They helped me fix up my ZX1400 in a jiffy and charged a fair price as well. They went the extra mile several times by helping me unload the bike, teaching me things I didnt know, helping me reload the bike onto my trailer (I have a broken foot) and helping me find a suitable price range to sell it at. Absolutely cannot reccomend these guys enough for all your motorcycle needs and then some. P.S. their building is also badass on the inside.

Tony, and Jim are outstanding dudes that stand by their work. The guys at Combat Cycles helped find the parts I needed and saved me over $900 that Harley was going to charge for them. I brought my bike in, to convert it from a Super Glide into a StreetBob, and they crushed it! The labor was a great price and Jim isnt down to rip anyone off. Theyre above and beyond in the sense that they have the ability to weld, and modify pretty much anything you want. Great dudes! Highly recommend.

I have always had great experiences coming to this shop. I have had them work on both my bikes, 05 Yamaha and 2016 road glide. I have bought items from their shop and I have never had any real issues. The owner has always treated me and my buddies with respect and if we had an issue with something we purchased from the shop or if it was work done to our bike we called Jim and he would make it right regardless of what he had to do. Best shop I have been to hands down, thanks combat cycles for doing what yall do and keep it up.

To say that Jim is the best is such an understatement. I don’t know how he does it but the man exceeds your expectations and I haven’t seen a business yet that treated you and your entire problem with such enthusiasm, respect and sincere interest in fixing your car or bike and problem solved. It’s an awesome experience from beginning to the end; he makes you feel like family. He is a very kind person and his prices are more than reasonable, but please pay the man for his services because if he could, he would do it for free, and he did. I felt bad about it, but I’ll make sure to pay him for the work that he will do next time. He’s a wonderful person and you don’t get to meet someone like him at all. I can’t thank him enough. You need to go visit him because he will do you right for the work that he does. His place is one of the 7 wonders of the world. Go and discover his shop.

Great crew working here! Jim is always willing to work with you to get what you are looking for. My first time in there, I was getting new tires put on. Jim comes to the desk and asks me if Ive been experiencing any problems with the handling. Dudes a life saver, quite literally. He shows me that a spacer was missing from the back wheel, which was causing slight side to side shifting. He tells me he can make a spacer while I wait, and there will be no charge! The 2nd time I went there he was willing to squeeze me in for an oil change during my lunch break with zero notice.Great place, with a stream of clients walking in and out all day, but always take the time to get you what you need.

We were suppose to have our harley repaired here. We live 1.5hrs away. We hawled it in. They kept it for over 4 mths charged us a high price, as we pulled out the battery wasnt charged enough, 2nd time we pylled out we ran out of gas. We broke down at the store down from the shop. It was stormimg and nobody would answer cell phone or shop phone. We waiting to get help it took us 9 hrs to get back home. We recieved a used battery, nothing was fixed properly. It was rigged with a last minute quick fix, oil was leaking out all over motor. That was a new issue that wasntthere before. Causing more damages. Could of caused a terrible accident. Get it home just to park it again. We had a local shop in our town do repairs that cost over $1000 for the damages. I do not recommend combat cycles.

I bought an 09 Harley Nightster earlier in the month, and still learning about bikes and all, felt like something was off when I was riding it. Id ridden by Combat Cycles before and decided to give it a go. I walked in, said I thought something was wrong, a Mechanic named Spud came out front and within 30 seconds of looking at it he figured it out. It was the front bearing. When a front bearing goes out, it could lock up throwing you from the bike. He pulled it right through the front door, changed out the bearing and everything. Let me watch and ask questions, too. Showed me some other stuff about the bike and I definitely learned a lot. Ill definitely be coming back.

Worst experience of my life. They seem good at customizing but if you want you bike fixed this is not the place. They are guessing mechanics, they replace and try... replace and try.... until your money is dry, without ever actually fixing the bike. They had my bike on and off for a month. I read reviews and this place looked good but please Lord dont take your bike to get repaired here. 650 dollars later I still dont feel comfortable on my bike riding it because it jerks and pops and yanks. They did my carbs, spark plugs, oil change, baffles, throttle cable, replaced hoses and still have no idea how to fix my bike. I went to pick it up 3 seperate times and was told by the OWNER!!!!! Three different stories on why it may not run right or why it pops or why it pulls but still no results. He has the nerve to tell you, the customer, if you have an unlimited budget Ill get it running great, like isnt that what the other 650 bucks was for? I will never take a bike there, never allow a friend too, heck I wouldnt wish this place on my enemy. Here I am 1500 bucks deep in this bike and its not ridable for more than 20-30 mins. Thats just bad business. Now me as a person, abnormal person that has a job am out. What do they have? My money with no care in the world. Please please please never take your bike here. Thank you!
