Very well crafted sandwich. The roast beef was rare and sliced thin. The bun was nicely toasted, and the lettuce was fresh and crunchy. The horseradish cheese made the sandwich. Super good! Brought home a beautiful fruit tart to enjoy later in the day. Seating options were plentiful, with both inside and outside tables available.
Gourmet bakery, cafe and lunch sandwich place. You order at a window and the food comes in a takeout bag: you can eat self serve outside on the shaded tables out front or take away for a picnic lunch. Locals clearly eat here too. A bit pricey but we all loved our sandwich orders including roast beef and bagel and lox with tomato, onion and capers. Good pickles. Beverages include brewed ice tea, bottled root beer and coffee drinks.
Great online ordering system. Due to Covid restrictions, they are only doing takeout, but do have a few tables on the patio which can be used. Food is high quality and tasty. Portion sizes recently have gotten smaller.
One of the best burgers in the planet! Seriously- it surprised me! Fish naanwich and sweet potato fries are awesome! Consistently good food. Bfast & lunch only so plan dinner elsewhere.
Coffee was a little sub-par. Thats where they lose a star. The food was great, the service was cheerful, and the front patio atmosphere is excellent!
Delishous breakfast burrito and avocado toast! Their muffins are awesome too!Service is excellent!
Absolutely fantastic, feels like home made food. Excellent way to start a fun day in Jamestown or Newport
Unfortunately very good food is overshadowed by a lack of professionalism by the young help.We have all made challenges with COVID. But Slice of Heaven seems to exploit the situation. The nickel and diming of customers is beyond belief. Only outdoor dinning with “to go” containers. No available bathroom. What? Are you kidding me? You have to beg for extra sugar and napkins. The garbage receptacle was hidden. This is our second and last time there. Customers need to feel appreciated, not like restaurant help is doing them a favor. There are other options in Jamestown!
Nice setting and decent food. However, be prepared to wait an hour for a soup and salad. Food was not worth the wait.
I love this place, but as a breakfast sandwich lover Im pretty sure the person who made mine this morning has never actually eaten one! I ordered it to go, the bagel (which was tiny) was cut in half, but the rest of the sandwich (eggs and sausage) wasnt! So right off the bat, impossible to eat without a fork and knife. I also added hot sauce (which costs extra) and had a to go box literally swimming in cholula. To top it all off the cheddar cheese was a handful of unmelted shredded thrown in the hot sauce soup. My soggy breakfast bowl will definitely keep me away for a while.
The food is so good! Cant wait to go back.
One of my favorite breakfast places in Jamestown. I always grab a coffee and a bagel before heading down to the wharf.
Came highly recommended, but we were disappointed. They got our order wrong, and the sandwiches we did get were nothing special. I spent a week in Jamestown and much prefer the Village Hearth for lumch.
Slice of Heaven was so good, my family and I went twice during our two-day stay in Jamestown! While the food was delicious and just what you would expect from a cozy bayside diner (that is to say, comfort food), it was the service which really set them apart. Both times we went, the staff were friendly, accommodating, and looked like they genuinely enjoyed what they were doing. In my book, that says a lot about the type of business you are dealing with and makes the experience that much better. As far as food goes, out of seven people in our party trying a different dish each day I think we ended up testing at least half of the menu and loved everything. A couple highlights were the fish and chips (get the sweet potato ones!), the Grand Marnier French toast, and the veggie wrap. Also, if you are into that kind of thing, they compost, so you know you are supporting a business that cares about sustainability. And even if that isnt a big deal to you, just knowing that thought is going into their business practices says a lot about their commitment to quality. So give them a visit and enjoy!
Does it get any better than playing at the Jamestown playground then walking over to get chocolate chip pancakes for lunch?!?! Great lunch options as well. Awesome spot. Beautiful patio.
Good pastries and fresh brewed coffee. Would recommend for a quick bite and cup of joe.
They dont season their eggs, even a little salt and pepper would have made a world of difference.Pancakes were dense and overcooked, extraordinarily hard to cut with the plastic utensils provided.Staff was friendly.
Whew! Still processing the delicious breakfast I got from here. The salmon bagel [homemade sourdough] with cream cheese and capers is a perfect balance of flavors and the sourdough bagel just tied it all together. Their delicious and tastefully made fruit tart (not too sweet) coupled with a cafe au lait was the perfect post breakfast dessert. I am satiated without feeling overdone and my boyfriend feels the same about his breakfast (he got a breakfast burrito with a cocoa banana muffin). Definitely recommend this place!
Great breakfast choices across the board. Quality coffee products. Excellent salads and sandwiches for lunch.
Local Jamestown breakfast spot with a large selection of breakfast items including waffles, pancakes, omelets, and baked goods! Came here with a large group after a half marathon—the service was fast and the food was delicious. You order at a counter and pay before getting your food. Make sure to check out the outdoor seating!
Turkey wrap and pastry and ate by the sea.
Oh my goodness, the Venetian Cloud Cake is one of the best things I have eaten in recent memory. The raspberry and chocolate and whipped cream combination is phenomenal, Ill be dreaming about this cake for a while. I recommend splitting it with someone unless you are very hungry and have a sizable sweet tooth, though its not overly sugary and sweet. Heck, have it all yourself, youre worth it.
Good coffee. Bagel was also excellent
With a name like Slice of Heaven one would think there is pizza, but there isnt. There are pretty bad sandwiches. My brie and ham had soggy caramelized onions, and brie that was more like cheese wiz.I also found the experience confusing. On the outside it looks like a restaurant. On the inside, its a coffee shop / hoagie vibe? I think it just needs to make a call and put a bit of signage - seat yourself or wait to be seated...
This place is very crowded in the mornings. This is probably because there are only so many places to go in Jamestown. What was nice was that they have a water station for people to use while theyre waiting in line. Once you put your order in, theyll give you a number, and you can bring your number to your table to sit and wait. Despite how busy it was, it wasnt hard to find a table. They did forget my order, and they had my plate out when my friends were about halfway through their meals, but they were apologetic about it. They do have a vegan breakfast option, I got oatmeal and they gave me a side of almond milk to put in it.
Tasty sandwiches, salads, pastries and coffee with a small outdoor dining area. During covid ordering is outside with takeout only.
I just had the best panini of my life! Wonderful place! Wonderful food!
Delicious, fresh, atisanal cuisine. I crave the kale salad/dressing and the gluten free cookies. Healthy food never tasted so good!
Delicious food and pastries with great waitstaff! Order online and pick up or they have a few tables to sit at. So happy to have discovered this breakfast spot!
Lovely location and friendly staff
Went for breakfast, which looked really good on the menus. But decided it was lunchtime and ordered their soup of the day, mushroom asparagus & fish and chips, a house specialty. Soup was light and delicious. Fish were perfectly fried crisp on the outside and soft and Flaky on the inside. Frys where hand-cut fried perfectly and the cajun fries option was not overpowering.
Fantastic bakery with amazing coffee.
The best place for breakfast in Jamestown. Dont miss the sticky buns! We had the blueberry pancakes and waffles, served with real maple syrup. Yum!
Good food! Love omelets, cookies, egg sandwich, breakfast burrito
I dont go to James town often. This trip I was there early and wanted a coffee and something to eat. I saw Slice of Heaven. There where people there so I thought I would give it a try. I had a bagel sandwich and a coffe. Both tasty. I will go again next time I am on James town. Hopefully it will be a warm day in the summer and I can wait outside.
I recently moved to Washington state after living in Jamestown for 24 years. Ive seen this site go through several different owners and the current duo is the best yet. The two guys running the place now are culinary artists, unlike prior owners that just wanted to try their hand at the restaurant business with no formal training nor experience. That knowledge and skill shines through in everything on the menu. I came back to visit with old neighbors on 14-July and the food is still fantastic. You order at the counter and the main dishes are on placards over the counter (deserts are on the counter or in the chiller). Pick a table in the sunny interior or on the patio with a view of Narragansett Ave a and they bring your food to you. I was pleasantly surprised that there was no wait, given a sunny summer Sunday just after noon. I had the Gran Marnier French Toast which was superb with real maple syrup, whipped butter, and a fresh strawberry. Ive enjoyed the California Turkey Wrap and the Breakfast Burrito in the past as well. If youre in Jamestown or nearby its well with your time to stop by for breakfast or lunch.
Just had the Fish Naanwich and it was delicious! The naan is more of a pita, but still tasty. Enjoy!
Nice place and location with positive and friendly staff. Helped us setup a table of seven. Likely very busy in summer, and has outdoor seating for that. Place orders at walkup counter, then take your number-flag to table. They will serve you when ready.
Great food and cozy atmosphere! The fish and chip was excellent. Great selection of gluten free baked goods as well!
You can tell they use super quality ingredients in everything they make. Their roast beef sandwich with the horseradish is amazing and the carrot cake is a worthy finish up. My husband swears by their croissant French toast and he loves the carrot cake too. It becomes a dual of sparring forks.
Great food very clean great service
Loved it! I havent had carrot cake in a long time because of my gluten allergies and they had so many desserts to choose from that was gluten free. Plus they had other breakfast and lunch options as well. Love the location.
After reading the reviews I figured lets just try it. It was very good the liquer orange french toast, very good hit the spot. Ill order it again. Good breakfast spot
Hamburger was delicious - meat was flavorful, topped with 4 slices of bacon, and slightly spicy salsa. Yummmmmm! Sweet potato fries were to die for. Fish and Chips were okay. Turkey wrap was good.
Amazing food and a great staff. My kids were hopping around the place and the staff was hopping with them. Really friendly. I would recommend the breakfast sandwiches.
Lovely and delicious!
Great food. Five stars if it werent for the sliced panini warmed croissant. I wanted it oven warmed, it came secretly flattened and sliced. It looses allot served that way. It tasted ok. Ill be going back!
Wonderful menu of delicious hot items in addition to the wide array of scrumptious baked goods. And they had a variety of gluten free items! Lovely service and minimal wait for hot food. Will definitely be back!
Delicious food!
Stopped in for quick breakfast. Probably one of the most delicious waffles Ive had. Fast service too.
Very fresh and delicious!
Best breakfast sandwich i’ve ever had!
Fast service and great food. Enjoyed lunch with a friend here.
The desserts were remarkable, and some of them were very inventive. They could benefit from an extra staff person by the cash register when its really busy. Nice people watching from the front Courtyard
It was just okay. I had the breakfast burrito which was alright. And my fiance had The turkey sandwich. The coffee was great. If I wanted a sandwich for take out to go by the water I would go back.
Whenever I visit Jamestown, this is pretty much a go-to place. Good coffee and more-ish pastries. Summertime hint. Watch out for the sparrows in the outside dining area. They have no fear.
The perfect gourmet cafe. Wonderful food and cheery casual atmosphere. Plenty of selections for everybody even the pickiest eaters, priced very reasonably.
The worst eating experience I’ve ever had. Very expensive cafeteria food, of that’s what you’re into. I hope they go out of business. Terrible customer service. My food was awful and inedible, and they said if I wanted anything else, I’d have to pay for a whole other meal, after they’ve already charged me for food that no one in my party wants, and is going to have to go in the garbage. The woman behind the counter glared rudely every time she looked at me. Aside from that, the ambiance was awful, and I’d rather eat at a dunkin donuts. I can’t believe anyone enjoys this complete garbage. expensive prices for poor people food.
Great food and great service. The omlettes are super filling and the French toast is a unique twist on the traditional with some orange flavoring. I always come back here when Im in Jamestown.
A little pricey but good. 3 of us had waffles, 1 had eggs Copenhagen, 1 had bagel with smoked salmon, 5 coffees, and the dog had 1 scrambled egg, total was $75.
The pulled pork, BBQ, cheddar and egg wrap was so good! They have gluten free wraps!
A variety of delicious breakfast options -- omelets, french toast, breakfast burritos, pancakes. (Our only disappointment so far was with waffles.) Friendly, efficient service. Its hard not to eat too much!
Fantastic. Great. The grilled cheese and brie was delish! Good place to grab a coffee and lunch/breakfast!
Friendly and prompt service. Unfortunately the food is rather mediocre. We did not care for the clam chowder, heavy on dill and whole kernel corn. My egg sandwich was over cooked and the sausage was boring. May give them another chance.
Amazing omelets!!! The California with smoked salmon was the best Ive ever had
Very good, basic food. Service is caring and seems to take pride in their product. All bakeries should take notes from this place.
Fish naanwich was great!
Great locals breakfast sandwich and muffins on Narragansett Avenue. Indoor and outdoor seating.
Great breakfast spot. Nice seating outside. A bit more expensive but good food.
GREAT breakfast choices & very pleasant staff!
Everything we picked up there was delicious and well made. The coffee was excellent and the Staff kind and real.
Oh my. God. Outrageous baked goods, my lunch was delicious, a ham and. Cheese sandwich that was in the gourmet side of preparation. Would definitely recommend this eatery.
Quaint Atmosphere...Great Food. Pastries.
The fresh pastries in the morning are amazing. Get the pecan cinnamon bun guy! Breakfast sandwiches are also delicious. Dinner is also great.
Food was good, however, table service is not as good here. I felt rushed when my order was taken, and I ordered a salad and there was no dressing with it. Hard to understand the employees be as well.
Great food! Good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. I had blueberry pancakes with what appeared to be a metric tonne of blueberries in them!
Great carrot 🥕 cake!
Stopped here on a Sunday morning while heading to Newport. Great place to stop. Free street parking. Easy to get to. Browse the menu outside of it is your first time. The menu inside is on wall signs and will look different. Walkup counter service with delivery to table of prepared foods. Nice selection of fresh pastries on display for you to pick from. Inside and patio seating. Enjoyed the toasted bagle with salmon, cream cheese and capers. You could taste the flavor of each ingredient. Service was fast and the staff helpful. Took a few minutes after breakfast to walk down to the harbor just a block down the hill.
Great food and tons of amazing desserts and pastries. Gluten free bread and pastries/desserts!
The blueberry pancakes and waffles are heavenly. The staff was very friendly and even gave my 8 year old a complimentary pancake. We will definitely return when we are in the area again!
Good experience. Great location. Charming cottage just needed a little cleaning in the corners. I would definitely recommend.
They have the best breakfast/brunch that Jamestown has to offer. We visited here just about everyday of the vacation and werent hungry again until evening hours. Awesome and hearty meals.
Love this place ... Excellent food and just the pleasantess atmosphere
Awesome place. Great food and staff
Had the veggie Benny with an English muffin and it was really excellent
Not my favorite place for food, but great ppl and atmosphere
Went to this restaurant for breakfast today. Great staff and menu. Definitely make a return trip soon!
Really cute small town breakfast place. Great food.
Nice place to stop for breakfast on your way into Newport. Friendly staff and excellent food!
Awesome omelets and mocha coffee 😊
