Joanns has such beautiful material. Prices might be a little higher but never really checked. But they have anything you need. Good place to shop.

Went and bought tie blankets for a eagle scout project and the staff was very helpful

I sent a friend to get embroidery or tapestry thread for a project I was doing for her. I gave her photos from JoAnns website.An associate told her they didnt have the item in stock (website showed 8 on hand, which I texted to my friend).They sent my friend away with some plastic coated junk cord that could not be used for embroidery.I had to take an hour of my time to drive to Joanns to get what I originally asked for. Most of the people who work for Joanns dont know much about the products they sell.When the consumer knows more than the employees, that is a red flag.In addition, I just wanted to exchange the item. Six people in line, one cashier and several associates wandering around in the store doing nothing more than wandering.When I finally got my turn I was given a plastic card (not an eco friendly solution, condidering I was not leaving the store til I got what I needed and would be spending the money anyway).When I got what I came for, I waited in line again, only 5 in front of me this time but only one cashier.I gave the cashier the plastic card with $3.00 and some change on it, made my purchase and threw in an extra dollar. Oh happy day....glad to be out of there.Any questions? :) teeheeI am happy that I dont have to physically frequent this business because its like this 90% of the time.

After shopping at the local Michaels I have a much greater appreciation for this store. The Joann employees are friendly and always willing to help. The coupons are decent and really helpful on some occasions. Everything is clearly labeled, and if it isn’t an employee clarifies it for you. You get quality for what you spend, and it’s worth your time to go in and look at stuff.

I ended up visiting JoAnns to buy fabric for a photo backdrop. The selection was awesome and prices seemed reasonable. The staff was super helpful and answered all of my questions and how things worked with buying fabric. Definitely recommend!

Horrible service at the register...employee was argumentative and very unpleasant. Wishing there was a closer store to Beloit that I could go to instead of the Janesville store...will have to drive to Rockford because Im never going back to Janesville!

I dont do crafts, or know much about it, so in the few instances where I must go to a craft store I rely on the staff to give me guidance; Ive received good advice on products here, and tips on what to look for.

Was a frustrating visit. I went because they advertized a big yarn sale. Im totally new at crochetting and dont know a thing about yarn. I went to that department couldnt find any signage showing what was included in sale. I asked a passing clerk. She was very exasperated in having to help me. I asked if there were flyers in the store to show me what was on sale. She said no, sales only shown online. I said the online ad says select items on sale I want the yarns on sale for $1.99 and $2.50 but without signage I dont know what is what. She said what is shown online may not be what is in store. She said to know what they have I have go online and sign up for a mail flyer, but warning if you dont use a coupon every 2 or 3 months you will get kicked off list. I dont care about future flyers.I said I came here because of ad I saw online on the Janesville location website. The online sale had a separate section of online only sales and one for in store ads. There is nothing here in store to tell me what are actually sale items, so I am asking you to help me or get someone who can help me. She said just a minute went in back. Came out with an actual flyer and took kind of took me to the sale items I was looking for. She just went to aisles, pointed and waved in the general directions. Saying there are some down there. Then she strode off yelling at other employees that they need to get sale signage up.I wanted to ask for a bit of advice on the yarns, but she made it clear, I the customer was inconveniencing her too much already, so I didnt ask. I picked out what I figured was on sale.I bought 18 packs of yarn and a hook and needles to make hats to donate. I said at check out I think I have the sale yarn. If not the $1.99 sale price I wont want it. Tgank goodness it was yarn on sale.The clerk that checked me out was very friendly, but interrupted my check out to, I think inspect a couple employees purses because they were leaving the store. That should have been done after my check out.Anyways, wasnt pleased with my first visit there.

The store is arranged in a way that everything thats there is easy to find. There are a lot of wonderful items to choose from, however, I do not like those signs that say Smile, youre on camera or something to that fact. It makes one feel uneasy while being watched and who wants to deal with that while shopping? Its just not a comfortable feeling when you know you are being monitored. There obviously must be a lot of shoplifters but that doesnt make it right for everyone else to be under surveillance. The huge monitor is big enough to get the message across but signs to be reminded ever few steps away is a bit too much.

Store is clean and neat. Lots of sales and lots to choose from. Customer service was prompt, courteous and helpful. All pros!But then- I hear two of the lady workers make a snarky comment about Jo or Joe. Im not sure who this is as I dont know all of the employees. While I was shopping I wanted another opinion on my color selection and one of the women I overheard walked by so I asked her. She was very helpful and explained why her choice and I agreed. Just then Joe walked by and curiously asked what I was doing with it. ( OH, this is Joe, hes always been so friendly and helpful to me. He has helped me with projects before and I just didnt pay attention to his name).Im purely speculating here but is the snarky comment because of his unique attire or hair color, his acrylic nails or has he worked there longer than you and knows what needs to be done?EITHER WAY,. NEVER SPEAK ILL OF ANOTHER PERSON, CO-WORKER OR CUSTOMER, IN FRONT OF ANOTHER CUSTOMER. VERY POOR WORK ETHIC!!!

One worker was VERY rude. Never going there again for how I was treated.

Extremely unhappy....I went in to JoAnn to purchase a Rotating Cutting Mat. When I got to the counter I was told my coupon expired. I said Oh then do you just match coupons. The gal said yes. I knew JoAnn had another set of coupons out but could not get it to come up on my phone in their store. (I take pics of the coupons as this happens A LOT In JoAnn with At & T) I show her my Hobby Lobby 40% off. So the manager comes over and explains their new policy is they must look to see if Hobby Lobby has the same identical thing. He asked If I knew I said no I do not I usually shop here first. He brings it up states that it is Not the exact same thing so they would not honor the match coupon. So I left there and went to Hobby Lobby and much to my happy surprise I got a rotary cutting mat with 40% off for 18.98. Sure beats the double price one they had at Joann.

Large selection of fabrics, crafts and decorations. Prices a little more expensive than similar places. Lots of people more than eager to help. They give detailed directions (if needed) and offered alternatives to save time and money. Also offered to help if having problems once home. Just call. Will definitely be going back.

Needed to put some fabric on a new swimsuit to cover my bust. Came in and was wandering blindly - Krissy asked me politely if I was finding everything okay! I explained my situation and she helped me so much! Then Joe came and gave me some really helpful advice too! I found a matching bolt of fabric and got advice from both of them on the color that would work, what stitches to use, and so much more!!Thank you guys so much for your help and expertise! I really appreciated it and will definitely come back again! You guys rock!

The store was incredibly neat and organized. Plenty of sales going, as well. I believe her name was Steph, but she was great! She cut my fabric quickly and was super polite when I needed to change one of the lengths.

The only problem, though it really isnt a problem, is that if what I really needed would have filled one bag, I nearly always leave with at least two or three extra bags because the store is filled with great finds!

The new racks holding fabric have wheels so it is off the floor. Its easier to see the bottom row now, I love it. Displays are lit and more at eye level. I feel its easier to find items with the over head signs that say what is down each aisle. I give the new store A+.

This is always my go to store for crafting. I usually can find what I need & they always have coupons.

New store so its cleaner but the aisles - particularly in the yarn area are super narrow - only one person can get through. This store is more handicap friendly but some of the people (including a manager) working there are rude and not helpful. There are a couple who are fabulous when you catch them but they arent always there.
