Pretty good supply store for those who participate in the outdoor life activities. I went there looking for an item which they had a good supply but not the particular item I was looking for. Sales people were very courteous and friendly.

I went into this gander mountain looking for a dog training shock system, called in advance because I had a hour drive from my home. When I arrived I was greeted with smiles on faces, I asked the associate where to locate the dog systems and him & another gentleman pointed where I could find what I needed. Very friendly! Looking at the dog systems there are red tags everywhere discounts because the store is closing, we see $89 $99 $109 and even a 45$ sign and we get extremely happy that we have found a system in our budget. We pick the one for 89$ trying to get one of the better ones, get to the register and it rings up $260. I work at Dillards & am very familiar with retail stores in general, I asked the lady to come show me which ones where at the price I needed. She went with me only to have her rip the tags off that I saw and tell me that the liquidator must have put those tags there ... all 4 of them? In the wrong spot completely? I asked her if there was a manager I could speak with to try and see exactly what was the price we needed it at and she refused and said she was a supervisor and her manager would be there tomorrow. I just wanted to share my store in hopes that everyone will watch the prices at the register during this closing sale I believe they are trying to sell it with you not being able to return it at more expensive pricing than the liquidatior prices it at. Michael, at the firearms counter was a tremendous help for me. Being a first time gun buyer Michael gave me great advice about what I should look for in a gun. He even took the time to show me ammunition and holsters and safety boxes that Gander Mountain supplies. He described the Gander Mountain firearms warranty and how much it would benefit my new gun and give me piece of mind. Michael is a great asset to the store!! I will for sure recommend Michael at Gander Mountain to all of my friends and family if they are in the market for a gun!!

The store is great but the prices are too high. Also, customer service needs to be worked on. We were pretty much the only people in the store and not one employee came to check on us.

Prices are better than the old Gander Mountain. Youre still paying big box store prices, but overall its reasonable. Selection is slightly smaller, but not bad.

This is my go to place when I need some equipment fast. Hunting or fishing, I can usually find just what I need! Also clothes and camping gear.

Better than when it was Gander Mt. Id suggest being a Good Sam Member. Its saved me quite a bit of money and their exclusive sales are next to none. Bought a stripped Aero lower for 35 bucks.

Nice store and really nice staff. Went in to look at fishing gear and wasnt expecting this much selection. Very impressed.

If I could give a review of zero, I would. I looked at purchasing an Aero Precision barrel that was priced at $102.99. When I got to the register, it rang up for $179.99. When I questioned it, I was told “we had a sign error, I can take $20 off.” I asked to speak to the manager. I watched several employees shuffle into the aisle where the barrel was located and begin correcting signage. I approached the manager because he wouldn’t come to the front and told me that he’s “only allowed to take $20 off, because it was too much of a difference.” After working retail for many years, both as a sales associate and in management, I’ve learned that the customer should always be taken care of...especially when the manager admits that it was an error made on the store’s part.

I had one of the best experiences walking into this Gander Mountain. At the end of June I went in to purchase a hunting rifle. Purchasing another previously, this by far was the best experience Ive ever had. The associate, Lee, was beyond knowledgable about every gun I had a questions on. Ive never left a store feeling so good about a purchase but also learned so much about my rifle that was purchased and about Lee himself. This man was wonderful and beyond helpful. I recommend anyone that goes into this store ask for Lee if youre looking to make a firearms purchase. Thanks again!

Took 5 minutes to take the security device off the reel I purchased. Nobody greeted me and not very friendly except Alex. Alex was very nice!

Theyre closing the store advertising 60% off and they are only offering about 25% off most of everything. Its still more extensive than academy even with sake prices. Wonder why theyre going out of business...

Fishing lure selection is about average. Prices are also. They do have clearance items and some really good deals on some items.

The staff is always helpful, and they have a lot of great outdoors products and reasonable prices

I give 5 stars because theres hardly anyone there besides employees. Quick service. Ask anyone where something is and they walk you to it. What a concept!

Just bought a handgun from them and was helped right away. Most people complaining for bad service. Did you even ask someone for help? Also could be better since they were bought out. Either way ask for help if you need it instead of acting like your fine and complaining on here later? How do you expect to get helped if you didnt ask???

I bought a fishing pole for my son and it broke in two different places the first time using it. They refused the refund or store credit because I didnt have my receipt. I didnt argue, I will just give my business to someone else that stands behind their products.

Really like this place. Didnt make it in the door, and already employees saying welcome, good morning. Went to firearms, even on the way thru the store,others saying welcome, can I help you. When I got back to firearms, employee, Matthew, helped me with a gun that bass pro,Wal-Mart, as well as academy didnt have a clue with. On the questions I had on the gun he didnt know, he told me up front, instead of answering what i wanted to hear. He told me he would check, and sorry I had to wait. This employee helped, and needs to be recognized. All the other employees as well. I didnt see the first one doing nothing. Everyone working together, and helping others. Great store.

Bright and open floor concept, especially for the disabled. They dont sell bulk rifle ammo, but the price of ammo. is competitive with the area.

Becky (the area manager) is a great asset to your store!!! She went above and beyond in helping us find and buy what we needed.. She is a keeper!!! Because of her, I will return to the store again!!!

We went to Gander Mountain to look at purchasing a very specific handgun. They had it in stock but the sales associate NEVER APPROACHED US AT THE SALES COUNTER. He never acknowledged our existence. We waited for over twenty minutes before deciding to leave and never come back.

I came in on 1/29/17, at about 10:10 a.m., to purchase some ammo that was listed in a flyer and the sale was to start on 1/29. I couldnt find the ammo and asked one of the clerks, who was apparently annoyed. After directing me to the ammo, he then said: If there is some still left. I told him that ammo I was looking for was going on sale this day and that it was about 10 minutes after store opening so i would hope that was still some left.On the other hand, the gal at the checkout asked if I had gotten the ammo I was looking for. She apparently overheard my conversation with the first clerk. It was nice that she checked to make sure I was satisfied. I just got a Gander Mtn. credit card, but if I am not treated better on my initial contact, my Cabelas card will be getting more use.

Nice weapon choice and cool customer service but I wish I couldve gotten my background check before handing over all my money waiting an hour and having them tell me to come back in a day or 3. I hope Im able to get my purchase cause Im not illegal at all lol.

Purchased my first handgun here and I have to say it was a very unpleasant experience from start to finish. If youre lucky enough to find an employee, they do not give you much attention, nor do they seem too enthused to help. Now I have shot dozens and dozens of firearms as a child, but this was my first purchase myself, and was pretty much a blank slate, not to mention its been almost 20 years since I went shooting. The associates made me very uncomfortable, confused, and they made me want to just walk out and NEVER come back! The only reason I even give a 2 star review is that they have ONE cashier that was very helpful, funny and witty. I want to like Gander because of the selections etc... but I dont see myself going back for my 2nd firearm unless I know exactly what I want and I will just order online and pickup in store.. but if that is the case, I mine as well find another company! On top of all this they didnt have the color Firearm I wanted (just decided on because I couldnt get ANY HELP OR ADVICE from ANY employees), So I paid for EVERYTHING then had to do the background check, I live 30 mins away, so one hour round trip. Well with all said and done it took me 3 trips to get my firearm home. VERY poor experience here at Gander Mountain in Janesville Wisconsin!

I was not very happy with my last experience with Gander. I came in to buy a new handgun. The guy I spoke with seemed pretty knowledgeable and recognized I knew exactly what I wanted. I paid for the gun and started the background check. This is where my experience went from good to bad.I was told the background check would take some time. I didnt have a problem with that. The clerk said I could go to some shopping in Janesville then come back later. This was at about 4pm. I went out to dinner and killed some time. I came back to the store about 2 and a half hours later. I was told by a different clerk my background check was still pending.I wasnt all that happy but I was real angry when he told me if it wasnt done by that time it wouldnt be done until the next day. I live about 20 to 30 minutes from Janesville. So not only did they waste my time one day, I had to come back the next day if I wanted a gun.I would have been ok with the clerk telling me at the original purchase that the background check might take a day, but he made it seem like a quick process. I felt like after they had my money they no longer cared. Ill go somewhere else next time I want to buy a gun.

Very disappointed with the store. Each year it gets worst over priced and nothing for the true out doors person. If you want candy, ice scrapers they have it. For one example l need spring bobber for ice fishing NOPE. I have talked to the managers more than one time nothing changes. Lets go back to the catalog and Wilmot Wi. Make Grander Mountain great again. I will not shop there any more.

Going out of business sale is a sham...most prices r the same. Guns might be the only thing truly on sale.

They told me gun transfers were no problem...Purchased a gun out of state and had it shipped there. I received a call that my gun had come in. I went to pick it up and the two counter men had almost no idea what to do....The big authoritative one said where is the proof you purchased this gun? I said well the paperwork from the FFL holder should have all the information...They couldnt find the paper work.I said well the gun shop would not ship the pistol if it wasnt paid for...I was informed that without proof of purchase he didnt know what to do and that transferring a non purchased firearm would result in a $250,000 fine...I assured him that I had paid for the gun. I felt somehow distrusted or like I was trying to pull a quick one on them...After a call to customer service and 2 cell phone calls to the manager somehow now I was cool..They couldnt figure out how to ring me up...finally rang it up as a shoe sale????? GO FIGURE Hey Gander MTN how about some basic training for the gun counter personel?

Poor Customer service, When a Sales Associate is finished helping another customer they immediately walk off completely ignoring the fact that other customers have been waiting on assistance. You could stand in the same spot for hours and never get any assistance.

Good selection great atmosphere but never take ur rifle their to get it bore sighted! Rail bolt was finger tight and my $200.00 buck Nikon nearly fell off and hit concrete wen I fired it I wasnt to happy! Gunsmith shop is inept!!!! Wud go somewhere else for boresighting!

I do not like the help I get from there archery Deptmentmy bow has been there for 3 months and no one will tell me what happend to it and the dont call me back like they say they will..... I will never buy a bow there agian or get my bow fixed there very upset
