They take the time to make sure that you get what you need. Just cant hardly find old time country service with a smile anywhere anymore, but you can at Hemps!!!

A superb local meat market. Well staffed on a busy weekend. Our butcher cut our steaks to order, then trimmed them to deliver 4 generous steaks for our Memorial Day family cookout.

Amazing beef just so full of flavor that it only needs salt and pepper. Cooked back to back with grocery store meat, the difference is almost unbelievable. The service is great and if you buy in quantity they vacuum pack it ready to freeze. Im done buying meat at the grocery store or costco. Very friendly staff too. Its worth the drive!

The best butcher shop in Maryland. My wife and I make the trip at least once a week to get the best steaks and chicken around. Salt and Pepper and done. Value for money is extremely high. Dont forget to walk across the parking lot and get a donut on your way home.

This is the place to get meat in Frederick. As the owner of a local BBQ restaurant, I like to think that I know meat pretty well, and this is where I come for my personal cuts of meat. They cut everything right there, down to the asking the thickness of the steak you want. Select, Choice or Prime. For backyard grilling, this is the place to come to get your meat.

My favorite place for fresh meat. Its impossible to buy better tasting chicken than Hemps. They also offer fresh, shucked oysters, when in season, that are perfect for frying. From hot dogs to custom cut steaks, I have never been disappointed with Hemps.

The best place for meats

I am a local beef farmer. I took two cows here a year ago and I WILL NEVER COME BACK. the processing was overly expensive, poorly done. ( not cut or cleaned well) and they sniped an entire loin from one of my animals. total scam artists. Rude too. too bad cause you want the locals to do you right.

Hemps is about an hour drive for me each way.Its worth it.There is no place better to get your meat. The folks behind the counter are always so happy, the customer service is from an era that has been forgotten and is second to none.I have never had anything taste odd/off/bad or anything less that stellar from Hemps. They are hands down the best meat market on the East Coast.

Very rare to come across the type of customer service that is found from this family owned business. For the last month they have been so patient and kind with answering all my questions and calling me basically on a weekly basis to provide updates on our order. Their love for one another, their customers and the pride they take in the products they provide is so obvious once you arrive and as they walk you to your car with your order. They are a gem among gems!
