Lovely place. Clean, excellent and friendly staff, and lots of great choices for coffee, ice cream, food, and more. The portion sizes are HUGE for ice cream, so keep that mind when ordering. Worth a stop if youre in the area!

Oh my, if you ask for a large ice cream, you get something so large, it must break the Guinness World Records. Excellent parking and great outdoor seating. Staff at the take out window could not be more friendly. They also sell burgers, etc.

The staff is so friendly. They have a lot of high school students who work there. Food is good and ice cream is better.

I just ate here last weekend with friends. I got a regular small vanilla cone and it was great. Everyone else was pleased with their choices as well. We got here right before it closed at 9pm on a Saturday and they were out of a couple of the more popular flavors but that is kind of to be expected.And believe what people tell you about the size of the cones. My small soft server was about the size of most places larges. If you dont want a ton of icecream you should probably order a kids size.

We stopped off here after seeing the sign along the highway. They were doing orders just from the outside windows and we got just ice cream though they have other food and drinks. They have ice cream both from Hershey as well as South Mountain Creamery and also soft serve. I went for the grasshopper mint which was fantastic my wife got some chocolate. Friendly staff and a fair price. A good stop off.

The Little Red Barn has great ice cream from Hersheys and South Mountain, as well as soft serve, but they also have great sandwiches and other real food. Its one of our favorite places to grab a bite and sit outside to relax.

I had a craving for ice cream that would not go away. I avoided the temptations of the sign on 340 for nearly 4 months before finally giving in.The cashier was super friendly and nice to the customers, even dealing with a few who were frustrated at the wait — it was very busy. When it was my turn, I asked what was gluten free, and she directed me to go inside as the flavors were marked on the freezer! I did just that and came back to order my treat.I got a peanut butter swirl ice cream. It was delicious. Well worth the wait!I will definitely be stopping by again later in the summer.

Quaint little place. Just had the kids cream with the kids after kayaking. Great price and portions! Nice red picnic tables and inside looked very clean and well decorated. Like you are saying at your grandparents. Thumbs up! Well be back next time for some real food too..🙂

Line was long, but fast moving. (And a good indicator that they were selling something worth waiting for!) Ice cream was delicious and I cant wait to go back. I dont get to visit Jefferson, MD often; but on my next trip that takes me over that way, Ill make it a point to stop at the Little Red Barn Ice Cream Cafe!

Got 3 sandwhiches from here first time they missed 1 whole meal from the order, went back a second time and they didnt put lettuce on my sandwhich like i asked and like was on the receipt, i give them a 1 star. felt more like they just wanted to get me out of their face opposed to providing good service.

Having recently moved to the area, this red barn caught my attention. I have sampled a large majority of the menu and every time the food was fresh, tasty and at a great price. The staff are very helpful, patient, and friendly. The diffrent ice creams they offer are in my opinion absolutely delicious. I highly recommend Little Red Barn you will not be dissapointed.

Little Red Barn ( Jefferson, MD) is a cute little ice cream place that offers more on its menu with sandwiches, soups, chips, etc.We called in our lunch order “for pick up”. The sandwiches were fresh Turkey, ham, with garden fresh tomatoes, and lettuce, on our choice of 7 grain bread, or wheat toast, or ciabatta bread! They pack a wonderful lunch with pickles & chips!The Hershey Ice Cream is the reason to stop here for old fashion hand dipped scoops piled high with a variety of sauces. I recall Giffords Ice Cream back many years ago, wonderful memories swirl about like the Capuchino crunch in my wifes cup!South Mountain Creamery is a local farm that provides the fresh ingredients for this great tasting ice cream. Theres about 20 flavors of ice cream that most people will appreciate . . . I prefer the mint choc chip, and roadrunner flavors covered in butterscotch, but alas I had to swirl my scoops in chocolate fudge instead ( like thats a terrible 2nd choice).Heck, come in during Christmas time with the decorations up, or summer time under the patio table umbrellas. . . anytime of the year for great Ice Cream! Thumbs up 👍🏼 4.80 rating!One suggestion: On busy days, an extra bathroom or two would help.

Ice cream is great and the food is great. Family friendly and the staff is polite. The service is quick and the interior is welcoming. Is Ben a long time since I have seen a ship like this and I wish there were more of them. Great place I highly recommend.

Great little spot in Jefferson. They have a nice sized dining area and an extensive sandwich menu. I came for the ice cream. Many Hersheys flavors to choose from and a few from the local South Mountain Creamery. My two scoops was much larger than Id anticipated. The polite young man behind the counter offered me a lid in case I couldnt finish it all. Turns out I didnt need that lid.

Yummy ice cream and loads of flavors - their local specialty, I believe. I got a chili topped beef hot dog with cheese and onions for about $7 - delicious. Lots of parking including accessible. Order and pick-up at outside window. Worth the stop! Beautiful countryside nearby if youre out for a fall drive like we were. Oh, and very friendly as well.

I got a chili dog and 2 scoops of ice cream (blueberry cheese cake and tasty mystery scoop — it wasn’t what I asked for). I think it’s hard for them to hear through the little microphone and masks, but I’ll leave my review at 5 stars because it was all delicious and I appreciate the COVID safety measures very much.

Update - went today and had great ice cream again. Unfortunately, my motorcycle was kicked over in the parking lot. Not sure if the kickstand sank into the pavement or if someone helped it! But the truly saddening thing is that it was kicked over for more than 15 minutes with patrons walking by and no single word from anyone. Not a bike friendly area, at least for sport bikes it seems. Word of caution to other riders!Cute place with great ice cream. Had dark chocolate raspberry truffle and was hands down one of the best i had! Clean place with nice outside seating and plenty of parking.

Service was extremely slow. Almost didnt get our order until we asked about it. One couple was turned away because it was closing time, even though they had been waiting at the window for service. Horrible experience. Doubt Ill go back.

Was here for a fund raiser, so it was very crowded, but the staff was on point. Friendly and worked hard to keep things moving. Tge food was really good - i had the Turkey sandwich. Then moved on to a coffee milkshake- that was fabulous. My friends had grilled cheese and the veggie sandwich, all were very good. Thet said the peanut butter milkshake was fantastic.

Waited for 37 minutes and my husband said it was the worst sandwich he has ever had. Our pooch enjoyed it though

Last fall I was returning home from a trip to Northern Maryland and needed a rest stop - Maryland has thoughtfully omitted them from the part of I70 I had to use. Pulled over intending to stop at a gas station and saw this place 200 feet down the road. A rest stop AND ice cream? No thinking needed.I was impressed. Sandwiches, soft serve, or Hersheys ice cream. Very nice premises with a farm theme in decoration. My wife and I visited a friend in Maryland this weekend so 2wd stopped again and she wad as impressed as I was. Would recommend to anyone who likes ice cream. PS. They also have sugar free for those with restrictions.

Really cute little place. we typically only get ice cream, but then stopped in for sandwiches that were really tasty. they also brewed a fresh pot of coffee for us, could have been stronger, but it was really nice of the young woman to do that for us.

Great place i love it! Me and my kids went here a few weeks ago and we loved it better than our store bought ice cream.

The ice cream here is absolutely amazing and the flavor they gave me when I asked for their favorite was one I was never expecting, blueberry cheesecake, I would come back to this place, especially when a medium feels like an extra large and its only 7 bucks!

Neat, clean, cheerful, tasty yet inexpensive. Not cheap, rather its reasonably priced. I stopped by with a few friends I had some chili and ice cream cone we sat outside is a gorgeous day. . the lady in pink tails behind the counter is very cherry and when my roommate indicated she had problems get gluten suggested the chili which was very tasty without being spicy hot. the layout was nice and wide open easy for me with someone with disabilities to navigate. will be back as we enjoyed ourselves there.

Very disappointed in our visit last night. Normally love it here but feel as though we got ripped off last night. My husband bought one of their pint deals and they only filled the container halfway, my kids each got a twist in a bowl and asked for rainbow sprinkles which we were charged $1.50 for and didnt even put them on and this is not the first time to be charged but yet not receive. I ordered a banana split and mine was complete liquid.

SO GOOD! And even if there arent many soft serve flavors they are delicious. Quality over quantity.👍

Great Ice cream. They have both softserve and normal ice cream. They are currently operating through a takeout window so you cant go inside.

Really cool place with a nice menu that goes beyond ice cream... there are some sandwiches, coffee and tea, and so on. The cost is a bit high but a single scoop turns out to be a small cup just about filled up so be sure to check the actual sizes before letting your stomach talk you in to a large! Plenty of parking and easy to get to. Outside seating is available although it seems to fill up quickly on those nice days forcing you back inside for seats or off to the side in the parking lot. Friendly staff and excellent desserts!

My kids favorite ice cream, my favorite BLT 😁 Great place, yummy food, fantastic staff. *Was my initial review*Initially, I gave them a 5 star rating but the last few times I went, there was an older woman there who you could tell was trying to be friendly at first but quickly lost it, ya know, cause you may have changed your mind mid order one time or something. She was inpatient and a little pushy. She just had a crappy attitude. I get that its summer and you serve ice cream and its busy.... but its summer and you serve ice cream, of course its busy. So get over it or dont work there. There is another girl there who acts like were bothering her every time we come in. But theres a couple of really sweet friendly guys there who I applaud for working with such nasty women. I used to really like going there and kept going after the last 3 or 4 attitudes I got there, because everybody has a bad day. I wont hold it against you. But I keep running into these 2 and now its just not worth it. And Im very nice in return to their attitudes, which is kind of messed up. I will just respond with not giving them my business anymore.
