Gary has been a great guy to work with for decades as we have both been in business for a long time. He will take good care of you.Best wishes,Jeff SlynSLYN Systems
Curbside Service is Great! The prices will beat any of the big box stores by far. I have been dealing with Gary for 3 years of very good customer service Thank you, Gary! that makes me want to come back.
Have been going to Gary for 11 years. Always attentive and trying anyway he can to help. If he doesnt have what you are looking for he will order it for you.
The best place to get great quality and price with computer parts in Louisville. Gary is awesome, and has been running this establishment since the AT Pentium PC days. For them to be around for 20 plus years, they have to be doing something right.
The absolute best computer supply place around. Super knowledgeable, even being tech savvy myself, having very specific requirements and requests I can always get exactly what I was looking for, and the guy knows exactly what Im talking about, has it on hand, and I dont feel ripped off like everywhere else. 10/10 ... 100/100...
Absolutely terrible customer service. I called to inquire about availability of a graphics card and was told “No so stop calling here about it”. I asked to clarify what I just heard and in response was told “No means no don’t you understand that”. I then apologized and asked when the card could possibly be in stock and got hung up on. I was treated very rudely and will not be doing business here ever again.
Quick response to inquiries and quick to fulfill the order. Solid computer at a competitive price configured the way we needed it.
Great place to nerd out over some gear. Solid advice from the team. The systems they build can vary in quality depending on your budget - not because of bad workmanship but because of cheap tech. So plan to spend a reasonable amount for good tech.
I have been going to Computer Outlet for several years now and have had nothing but top notch service. Gary, the owner has been absolutely amazing and focused 100 percent on solving any issues that I experienced with my laptop....whether hardware or software. Just today Gary and Andy, the technician resolved a very difficult issue that I was experiencing with my laptop. All of the staff has been very knowledgeable, friendly and customer service driven. I highly recommend the Computer Outlet store for anyone looking for these attributes in any business, but particularly in an IT service business.
Best place to get your computer fixed!!!! Been going there for 15+ years! Trustworthy!!!
Henry below my listing do not understand the owner just try to help him not ordering the wrong memory. The owner told him check the model of his motherboard supports before he buy from Amazon. Not many desktop motherboard accept one single stick of 16GB ddr3.
Great customer service extremely happy with the product as well!
I didn’t even walk into the store. I called them and asked if they had 16 GB DDR3 ram that I could buy to install into the tower i built, as my current RAM is going kaput. When the owner or whoever picked up the phone, he was immediately very dismissive of my request, and told me that they “dont make 16GB Ram for DDR3” which isnt true because I was literally just perusing newegg for some, but decided i wanted to get it today instead of wait a few days by ordering online. So once i tell him that’s actually not true and that I was just about to purchase some online, he told me that I didn’t do my research well enough and also said if i “knew the model of my motherboard i would not be asking if there were 16 GB DDR3 ram sticks at his store”. This was funny because, I built my PC so i in fact do know the make and model of my motherboard, and I never once even stated what it was to him. As the conversation kept going, I kept trying to explain to him that I know exactly what i’m talking about and that I was just trying to give a local business some help rather than order online. All this man did was raise his voice at me and repeatedly kept saying “i just try to save you money!” even though from the moment he picked up the phone, he did nothing whatsoever to help me. The phone call eventually escalated into a shouting match, with him calling me an ignorant customer who knows nothing about computers and me completely baffled at how rude this guy is to his customers. I asked him if he gets many customers in his store each day and he said “no not really” and i completely see why. To anyone looking to shop here, save your time and order online or go to best buy. By far beats having some stuck up “computer specialist” scream at you over the phone in broken english talking about how you “dont know what you’re talking about”. Customer service gets a -10/10 from me. Good lord.
Received updated in reasonable time on what is wrong with my computer
The best computer shop in Louisville. Ive been to many different shops in the Louisville area, none of which have been able to serve my wide variety of computer needs as much as Computer Outlet has and for as long as they have. I began soliciting their services back in 1997 when I worked for my first tech consulting company. I was so pleased with the service Gary and his staff provided that I sent them everyone in need of computer service. I took their business to each new job over the years. I purchased computer lab equipment for the university, saving them a lot of money and gaining local support. Gary takes pride in his business and his employees. He is happy to serve if you dont dishonor him, his business, or his people. He and his staff treats people fair and I am proud to be his customer and consider him to be a colleague and friend. I hope to continue doing business with him for years to come.
My wife says Im not allowed to shop here alone idk 10/10 experience and arent credit cards good for your credit?
I Walked in to the store, not quite sure about what I would need.to fix my computer. This was a bad position to put myself in because I could have been talked into extra things I didnt need. With this place though, they didnt use my confusion to their advantage. At one point, they even talked me out of two items that I could use and would need someday, but most definitely did not need at that point. The new ssd in my computer works great, and Im more than happy.
Very impressed with the level of service as well as the vast array of varied stock. Was able to save me money by recommending a more efficient way to convert my cables twice over very happy will return again
Gary always had what I need for my business. Always very helpful with questions and options. Best computer store in town.
Gary is Great! Great Selection, Great Service. Good Prices!
Computer Outlet is my go to source for computer components and parts. They seem to have everything in stock or can get it within a day or so.They are friendly and extremely helpful. Prices are good and you cant beat the service.
Owner has been there for at least 19 years. Great service and lower cost peripheral items. Usually can order almost anything.
The Computer Outlet team has helped bail me out of a few different technology related binds including my most recent issue of a CPU overheating due to dried out thermal paste. They have a well stocked variety of different items you may need including credit card readers, touch screens & repair equipment like thermal paste. The team has even allowed me to test out a touch monitor before purchase to verify compatibility with my equipment. A+++
Decent amount of parts for a brick and mortar store. Prices are higher then online but not bad.
Nice selection I just wish they sold printer ink
I went to computer outlet to have a problem looked at on our laptop. The issue didnt happen until we took it to there Store to fix it. We had to get a new hard drive and in the process we needed to get a fresh version of Windows 10. When we brought the computer home the mouse wasnt working properly. I didnt have the time to immediately take it there so a month passed by before we brought it back in. We take it there and I told them that the cursor started doing this as soon as we got it home and turned it on. The lead tech then went on to tell me No dont tell me that, if it were to do that we would have spotted it. He said it in a rude manner and proceeded to tell me they could look at it for $39.99. To end the story I just grabbed my laptop and walked out. NEVER GO HERE.
Im not going to give it a one-star because the store did have a wide selection of items. The problem is the selection of items are very old and my allergies went haywire after walking into the store within 5 minutes. Its severely needs to be cleaned and dusted. The wide selection of items however are outdated. For example graphics cards that were ATI which was acquired by AMD in 2006 and everything after that has been labeled AMD. The pci cards had dial-up connectors, the security cameras were extremely outdated and lastly someone had walked into the store while I was in there asking for a Wi-Fi Bridge. The store owner had no clue what this was and upon leaving the store I walked up to the gentleman and told him where he could find one or create his own with a Raspberry Pi. Long story short if you have dust allergies I would not advise visiting or if you need newer technology, and by newer I mean within the past decade, not the place to go.
Very efficient, needed help diagnosing issue with charging of my laptop. Resolved this issue immediately. Resolved with the purchase of a new charger for only $40 :)!
The guy who works here is friendly and helpful. This is apparently the only shop in Louisville that carries AMD boards and processors. If you dont want to wait for an online order, he probably has what you need.
More pricey than Id like on most things compared to online shopping or places like Micro Center in Cincinnati. Generally, thats made up for by convenience of being able to pick it up locally today. Unless today happens to be a Saturday or a Sunday.. in which case its off to Cincy..
I thought my onboard sound had quit working. I went in to buy a new sound card and Gary said to reinstall the driver. I bought the card just in case. Gary said that if reinstalling the driver worked to bring the card back for a refund. Reinstallation worked and I returned the card. What a relief to know that Gary wants to help you get it right. I will always return for all of my computer purchases.
Ive bought easily over 20 computers for my business (Wishs Drugs). They are extremely fair in all endeavors. I think Ive used them for about 15 years now. I just got a new one today.
Some of these negative reviews are laughable. Im a PC tech with 20+ years experience and Ive purchased parts from Computer Outlet over the years. Not only is the staff knowledgeable, but very nice and helpful. Unfortunately; some of these self appointed computer experts posting reviews dont know nearly as much as they think they do.
Very helpful with finding universal charger for laptop that the big box stores didnt have.
Gary is a swell guy. Has a great assortment of products available at a reasonable price.
Depth of computer knowledge & helpfulness.
Great service for consumer and professional.
If youre in a pinch this place will generally have the computer parts you need without having to order online but unless dealing with the owner the others there have been of no help. Prices are comparable to a best buy but more expensive than Newegg but is best local place to get computer parts or repairs
Been buying from here since I was 14! Gary is the best and always has a great deal.
Fantastic service, they are great here
Gary Kong and company have always given me the best customers service and stand by their parts every time I go there for over 23 years now.
Decent selection of components if you dont want to wait on your favorite online retailer.
I have been exclusively shopping here for computers and parts since 1996, the best I have found, thanks to ETS for Referring them! :)
Great place
Dont take it to them... They will charge for a name brand hardrive and put a junk one. Had it die three times in less than a year third time it died they wouldnt honor their warranty and wanted to argue that they its not their fault that they put junk hardrives in. When asked what harddrive they put in he couldnt answer the question....
Great place. Gary is the best.
Pre-built computers offered at decent price but computer components are outrageously priced
Great for Tech guys when needing difficult to find parts when I dont have time to order them online.
This is a terrible place to buy computer parts. They seem to be willing to tell you flat out lies to sell their inventory. For example, they might tell you a certain part is the latest model, just because they dont have the latest model and need to sell what they have. This is what happened to me.I bought a video card from them and at the time it was their 2nd most expensive card in the store. You would think that less than a year later they would still have this card right? When I needed support I called them and not only do they not carry that card anymore, they told me it was outdated a year ago. Did they tell me that when I bought it? No, in fact they told me it was the latest version card of that brand. That was a bold faced lie. $340 on an outdated card, and the Owner was a complete jerk on the phone. When I mentioned that I spent over $2100 cash that day on a whole new machine, he let me know how unimportant I was compared to his customers that spend $21,000 a day. Good customer service, right? Wrong. In conclusion, If you want to overpay, want to be lied to, want to be treated like crap, and deal with terrible customer service/support, then Computer Outlet might be the place for you. For anyone sane, just shop online. Youre much better off...unless youre one of the ones who spends $21,000 a day at Computer Outlet, then I guess youll get good service.....maybe.Edit: In further research I found out the model card they sold me was over 1.5 years old. There had been 19 newer models, of which atleast 7-8 had better specs at around the same MSRP. They also sold me a motherboard designed for Overclocking and a processor that cannot be Overclocked. The prices on pretty much every part I bought from them were not competitive. They were high, very high. So if you do decide to go to this store, please please know what you want/need and how much it costs at other places, before buying anything here. The salesman completely took advantage of my lack of knowledge and there is no reason he wouldnt do the same to you. The owner is beyond unreasonable too, so if you buy from this place and have issues, good luck with that. You were warned. From one ripped off guy, trying to save the next guy, have a good day!
Ive been in the computer/tech industry for over 15years now. The first PC I built was an 8086. For years I was a consultant for may businesses here in the Louisville area, and when I needed parts or a pc, I went Computer Outlet.Need a stick of ram, they have it. Need a cpu, yep. Video card, heck yah. Need a hdmi to display port connector, they had them. I needed a micro-hdmi to hdmi cable, they had them. Saved my butt for a presentation.Gary(the owner) has always been helpful and fair. Hes even gone as far as doing the research for a monitor I needed for a project. He went out of his way to help me out, and he did.A friend of mine started his own business, he buys all his PCs from here. Hes had 0 problem out of them. You can walk in, tell Josh or Ian what you need, theyll work up a quote, if you wish to purchase it, they will have it custom built (at no extra charge) in a day. The builds are clean with nice cable management.Im now an IT manager for a local company, and I buy everything I need from Computer Outlet. Ive bought laptops, switches, access points, hard drives, power supplies, cpus, everything. The reviews from fanboys that feel the need to post their expertise, when honestly, the only knowledge they have is some opinions they read about on some blog. Ive bought PNY video cards and used them in cad machines. There is nothing wrong with them. They still have an nvidia gpu, just like an evga. While PNY doesnt have as good a reputation as EVGA, their cards are fine.In short -- Computer Outlet is an honest, good, local company. Owned and operated by a good, honest, man. Josh and Ian have always been helpful, and knowledgeable. Theyve gone above and beyond to help me in more than 1 instance... and for that, I will always support Gary, the staff, and the business.
Um... granted, I should have known better, but he told me his 8 dollar arctic silver 2 was the same as allegedly higher priced Arctic silver 5. Ill be spending about 4.99 and getting some of the latter.Oh... and their small dusty stone age used lcd monitors can be had for $380.00.They also think that a little old pny 970 they had was as good as a new EVGA 970 with maxwell and the ACX and all that jazz.Unless you are predisposed to love them, its pretty easy to see how dishonest they are. Not a cool place at all.
The owner Gary, always gives you what you need once he understands what your problem is...
My go to in a pinch! The only place in town now to get many adapters and odd parts!
Had exactly what I needed.
Outstanding!
Great Service
