Great Place. Got me right in for a flex pipe exhaust leak. Straight up prices. No surprises. Id recommend.

Hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had dealing with any car service place. I came in for a simple muffler delete, was charged $370 which at the time was acceptable.Upon finishing it was quick to realize that it did not look like a $370 job or like any care was put into it at all.. muffler hung 6+ inches away from the car frame and was dangerously close to the ground. It was so out of this world bad that i had to fix it myself right out of the shop. Also, the pipe hung out another 5 inches from the back as well, further proving that they do not care about you or the work they do.I wouldn’t recommend this specific place to my worst enemy. I know for a fact there was a manager working closely with my car so I’m not gonna even bother coming back to tell them the truth simply because they already know.The only thing commendable was the polite desk lady that was able to answer any questions i had. Other than that, this place is borderline criminal, will do what’s easiest and cheapest for them and NOT the best for you and your money. DO NOT COME HERE.

I have been using the Muffler Man in Jenison for over 30 years with excellent results. Today, August 25, 2021, I went in for a full service oil change. As usual, I left my car there and had a ride waiting for me. Within an hour or less I got a call from a lady stating I needed a new oil pan and gasket as it was leaking and the oil plug was not able to be removed as it was stripped. I am not a 100% sure, but I believe I had the plug replaced some time ago. She told me the cost would be $266.34. I advised her I did not want the pan replaced. She said I would have to sign off before I could pick up the car. I returned to Muffler Man shop within 1/2 hour. When I went in I asked if the manager was there. She said she was the manager. I asked her if Rich was there. She said I run the shop, he is no longer with us. I asked her for the owners name and phone number. She said her father was the owner and he does not want his phone number or name given out. She told me I had to pay them $4.36 for a quart of oil they put in. She then told me I would have oil all over the place. I have a carport that does not have a drop of oil on it. I told her I would not be returning to the place. Our discussion went on a little further and she told me to leave the place. I told her my vehicle was still there and she again told me to leave and if I did not she would have an employee remove me. A male employee came to the front desk and he told me to leave as well. I told the male employee to not put his hands on me. She said she would call the cops, I encouraged her to do so. Other customers were in the waiting room as well. What a disgrace!! I left, got in my vehicle and returned home. No oil leakage as yet. I have recommended more than 200 customers to Jenison Muffler Man. Most of them I will be calling this week to advise them of how rotten I was treated. The lady told me not to come back. I wont.August 27, 2021 Now that you responded, I believe you still dont understand the issue. You did not then in the office space nor do you now. My complaint and still is, I did not authorize you to put the one quart of oil in my vehicle. Now you are saying that is your policy. Some times when people dont seem to understand another person situation, I tend to raise my voice to get your attention. If you feel I was hollering, you should hear me if needed. I am still making my phones calls to people I had recommended to Muffler Man. I have spent several thousands of dollars at your shop. Now I will give someone my business.

Ive been going to Muffler Man in Jenison for many many years. I use them too repair our fleet vehicles for work, and my personal ones. Rich, Nicole, and the technicians are awesome. Friendly, informative, fast, great pricing, and they do amazing work that they stand behind. Cant say enough good things about them.

We had a flat rear tire because we hit something on the highway. We took first exit and ended up at the Muffler Man on Main. Matt was so kind and actually removed our flat tire and put on our donut. He could not have been more kind or gracious! What a great place and a great man!! Thank you!!

Great service. I brought my car in on my lunch break and it was finished by the time I got out that day! I had to get the catalytic converter replaced and it was super reasonable price wise.In contrast, everywhere else in town would have had to wait to even look at my car until 3 days out. Very friendly staff. Got me in and out and about less than 30 minutes. Reasonably priced too, and they dont try to add on a bunch of extra stuff to get you to pay for either. They also told me of potential problems I might have coming up with the car. Will definitely be coming back

My nephew paid them to change serpentine belt. The car broke down a couple days later and the serpentine belt hadnt been changed.

Love these guys. They keep my old junkers running. Strangely, Ive never gotten a muffler from them but Im sure they do just as well with that as they do with water pumps, starters and other mechanical stuff.

Had to get a muffler hole fixed for my old Honda Civic, I got to see the underside and it was a GAPING rusted tear in the muffler bit, and they replaced that and a bit of the tube above the rear axle. Whole job cost ~$160, which was a bargain according to people I know. It took about an hour from the time I walked in, and I got a lifetime warranty on the muffler, good for the Muffler Man chain (which is quite a few locations, even out of state).Very straight forward and no headaches, which is impressive considering that one guy seems to run the place, help with repairs, do check-ins/outs, and answer phones.Sure they might not be very engaging to talk to, but they were never insulting or anything, and they did their job well, which is what is most important. Would definitely go there again.

They got me in the day of my tail pipe falling off, got me a quote, did the job, and came in under original quote within the span of 4 hours. If it can be done better than that I don’t know how.

Ive taken my cars here for years, mostly for oil changes and brake/rotors. Had a problem with my heater and it wasnt easy to diagnose. They kept at it until the problem was resolved and now Im nice and toasty! Ive always experienced fair prices and upfront explanations.

If I could give them a lower rating I would. We have taken several of our cars here for oil changes and brakes for years. On our last visit we asked for (and PAID FOR) a full service oil change - which is supposed to include topping off all fluids. Well, when they brought it to us we asked if the transmission fluid was OK (we thought there was an issue with it). The guy said I dont know, I didnt check it. [Red Flag #1] He was sent back to check it. When he opened our hood the hood mount broke. The guy in charge apologized and said they would fix it the next business day. Checked the transmission fluid, which was OK. Sent me on my way.Next business day - and the following FOUR business days - no call about the part being in. During this time (lets call it Day three) the washer fluid ran out after being used twice!! Guess they forgot to fill that one too!! [Red Flag #2] Called on day five. Forgot to order it. Ill do that right away. [Red Flag #3] ONE WEEK later, still no call. [Red Flag #4]Took it in today to get the part replaced. THEY CHARGED US FOR IT!! They said it was broken already, you just didnt know it. Really?!?!? My husband asked them if they were willing to lose a customer over the cost of that part. The guy responded with well I HAVE to charge you something! [Red Flag #5]Well, the part was paid for EVEN THOUGH THEY CHARGED US FOR A FULL SERVICE OIL CHANGE THAT WE NEVER GOT and it is the last money they will ever get from us!!

Had a little bit of exhaust work done to my late 90s chevrolet pickup. They were very reasonable on the prices. As a mechanic myself, I can say I hate working on any kind of exhaust, because its always rusty and stubborn. I dropped my truck off, and got a call within a hour with a price . the truck was done a few hours later. (Repair y-pipe, and 1 exhaust gasket) $120ish . truck sounded very good

Love the fast service! Unfortunately I couldnt believe they didnt take American Express. I had to transfer money from savings to pay for this. I can understand if a Party Store or a small Pizza place wouldnt take AMEX but a auto service place which is busy all day every day?? Especially when some people dont have a choice of where to get the work done on their car. I had my car towed there because it was the closest.I know they used to take AMEX because I have been going there for 7-8 years, I guess they decided to be CHEAP. Lost a customer unfortunately, not opening a different credit card to come here.

A few years ago went to Muffler man for an oil change. Shortly after that oil change I had car issues and brought it in to my regular mechanic. They discovered that the wrong filter was used in my oil change which stripped the engine block, causing that to be replaced for a few hundred dollars. When I contacted Muffler Man they replied that I changed it myself after I left there. They will not stand behind their work and the $20 they save you for an oil change will cost you $300 to correct the damage they cause.

This place will rip you off, more so the guy who work the counter not the shop guys. I am very knowledgeable about vehicle repair. This guy tried to tell me that my axle boot was torn and needed to be replaced. When the guy raised my car off the ground i went in and looked at it and there was no damage in sight. He didnt initially see me leave the waiting area and enternthe shop area. Once he did notice me looking at the axle with the shop mechanic, I saw him run to me very quickly. I then confronted him right there about his lying, he then tried to cover it up by saying that he thought he heard the shop mechanic say the axle boot was torn. The shot mechanic then looked at him strange as though he was telling him I never said that!

It was pleasant I brought my car there to change the exhaust alittle bit they did exactly what I wanted the price was really fare and I would go there again

I take my work and personal vehicles here. Great and friendly service. The manager knows what he is talking about.
