I needed some repairs done on my bike and I was having an awful time figuring out why I couldn’t get my bike to work. I made an appointment and brought my bike on over. I asked if I could explain what I have done and changed and whether I could watch. Casey and Dave were absolutely fantastic and very methodically went through my bike and found at least three things wrong with my bike. My bike is working flawless now. I have 11 gears instead of my nine. The service was fantastic! They went above and beyond what I asked and they didn’t make me feel too bad for my imperfections. Thank you soooooooo much Casey and Dave!!!!

I had some repairs that needed to be expedited. The staff didnt hesitate to get them completed and did the job well. I highly recommend this shop if you need bike repairs.

I brought a bike tire into them from a really old bike that I own I got it for free off the side of the road and when my bike tire wore through I feared the worst that it might not be able to get fixed or replaced so I took it into village bike shop and took my chances and I left a happy person. I got the best treatment I could possibly ever get the guy was very knowledgeable and even called out some dangerous problems with my back tire I had to tighten the spokes on my back tire and I also did my front tire. If their is any bike shop I would recommend it is Vilage bike shop they are hands down the best when it comes to repairing bikes and when it comes to customer service. I was very surprised they had the tire I needed to repair my bike and the tube on the inside of the tire.

Joe was extremely helpful in correcting an issue with an appointment that didnt make it on the books. I’ve done business with them before but the extra above and beyond for customer care is greatly appreciated. Thanks for making my trip up north a special one!

Bought three bikes from the Jenison store. Poor customer service following the purchase. The staff is desperately lacking soft skills. They make you feel dumb for not knowing something and our requests are met with resistance and attitude.

I dont know much about bikes and had to ask a lot of questions to figure out which bike would work best for my situation, and I was offered various options with helpful explanations. I LOVE the bike I bought from there, and Im thankful for the thoughtful reminders to get a free tune-up. They have also checked in weeks later to make sure that I am enjoying the bike and if Ive had any problems. I appreciate the attention to safety AND enjoyment!

Got me fitted for a bike that I ride everyday!

I have purchased 4 different bikes over the years from Village Bike and even though every time I felt I got a good honest deal on the bikes I can NOT say more about their service department going above and beyond again and again..I have had a few different parts go bad and they have managed to get them replaced on warranty more than once and they always have been free with advice and help but I would like to point out most recently I had a tube go bad on a Saturday afternoon an hour before they close and had no practical way to bring the bike in but the Joe the service manager at the 60th and Kalamazoo branch stopped by with a replacement tube and his tools and changed it out for me after hours. There were other circumstances but the fact he was willing to do this on a 90 degree plus day in my sweltering garage should speak volumes to anyone looking for a good deal and a company who stands behind what they sell.

He helped me test out a few bikes to figure out exactly what I needed to have a comfortable ride. He was also super informative on a lot of things which was awesome for me! He truly made my experience there today really great, so thank you Chris for all your help today! I am pumped to start riding on my new LIV.

I bought a new bike from the guys at Village. They were very helpful. They were attentive and helped me find what needed and I was out the door in no time. I noticed that the gears click when I petal, so I brought it back in. I told the guy the problem, he told someone else who heard pedals and replaced my pedals. He took the nice ones that came with the bike and just put some cheap crummy stock ones on, and that wasnt even the problem. Now I have a bike that still clicks, but with less nice pedalsThey also pedals they put on are so tight, I cant get them off

Lost my presta valve adapter. Bought one. Went home and tried to put air in tire. It didnt work. Went back and they took it in the back and tried it. Didnt work for them either. So went back up front he gives me another one and puts the one that doesnt work back for sale. So I go home with the second one. That one didnt work either. So I go back a different employee waits on me, he couldnt get the second one to work either. So he says sorry and never offers me refund or anything. Also the first time I went in, they sold me a tube that was not the right size. They told me it will work. I bought it for a spare. Now Im thinking when I go to use that Im thinking Im going to have a problem with that. Look I didnt go to walmartI went to a specific shop for bikes.

I brought my bike in to have the rear wheel trued this week. I was surprised and pleased that they could get my bike in and get it back to me in a short amount of time. I was also quoted a price of $20. The shop called me the same day and told me my bike was ready. I picked my bike up the next day and the first thing I saw was the chain hanging and not even put back on the bike. Then I spun the rear wheel and it was still not true. There was some confusion on what services were actually performed. They took my bike back and gave it another look. Another mechanic discovered that my cassette was improperly put back on and not tightened down. Also, the wheel was not true. At the end of the day the service that I brought my bike in for was completed but it cost me additional time ($23 more than I was quoted which was not communicated to me--not a big deal--but youd like to know if something additional is needed) and I left feeling like this was not a place where I would like to have my bike serviced again. Every mechanic in a bike shop should be 100% competent. Village in Jenison does not have that going. I could have left that shop with more problems than I originally rolled in with. The manager (I think) and the second mechanic did get me squared away, but I wont be bringing my bike back to Village of Jenison anytime soon because of the initial lack of service and incompetence.

Crooked, a simple respoke quoted at $200 plus$15 x2 spokes$25 labor (per reputable shop)$80....how did they come to a $200 quote....Well....up charging!They very much stepped over a dollar to pick up a dime.The repair was done to a nostalgic bike.My Ebike and road bike will be purchased elsewhere.

My experience with Village Bike & Fitness in Jenison was excellent! They took the time to really listen and find out my needs and to suggest the best bike that would suit me. They then measured me with some device to make sure to get the correct size bike.I dealt with Denise, Ron, Joe, Dave and Joel (on different days and at different times) and each one was wonderful. I wish I could put 0/5 stars. Very poor customer service. Have had a bike in the shop for a recall fix for a month. Have contacted specialized and they have said that the bike should be fixed since parts were sent out a while ago. Now, a MONTH later we are still getting told the bike has not been fixed and will be another week. We keep getting told next week.. Have been told that for 3 weeks now and still NOTHING. Between the two of us, we have purchased 4 bikes here and will never again buy a bike. So fed up. Poor customer service. Do not buy a bike here. Due to the fix being one they do not get paid for, they are dragging feet and not fixing it until they have time which obviously, is taking longer than a week like they keep telling us. Going on a month, and once again told that it will be done in a week.

I went in to buy a hex wrench to put my pedals back on. They didn’t have the specific size I needed. Instead of trying to sell me by ordering one or something, they asked if I wanted to just borrow one from their bike shop. Couldn’t have been happier with the experience, will be recommending to others.

Really great bike shop with a helpful staff! Ive noticed the service time takes longer with the new ownership, but you just have to plan your tune-ups and repairs more in advance. Ill still be coming here for all of my cycling needs.

Went there to get a couple bikes fixed and one of the mechanics (didnt catch his name) showed me exactly what was wrong and how to fix it. He also explained to me how the bikes worked which was awesome.

The folks at Village give you great service when it comes to buying new gear, and know what theyre doing when it comes to servicing your bike.They carry Specialized and Giant mostly, and have some good sales in the spring and summer. If you ride, youll want to head to Village.

Worked with Joe. Very friendly and knowledgeable. He personally enjoyed riding, so he could relate to what we wanted in a bike. Found a bike for both my wife and I in our price range. Did not try and sell me something I couldnt afford, or pressure me in to anything. We told him what we wanted and he had 2-3 good suggestions right off the top of his head. We also bought a few accessories and Villiage had them put on in no time at all and the bike was ready to ride. Very professional staff that are always able to help if needed. Great range of bikes for all ages and price ranges. I will be recommending Joe and this store to friends and relatives for anything biking.

I would like to briefly share a positive review. I am not an avid bicyclist, but have been into Village Bike on a couple occasions. The staff was very knowledgable and helped my young son (4.5 years old) get properly fitted with a helmet. We recently returned because his bike (which was not purchased at the store) was not working properly. The staff in the service center took a couple of minutes of their time to look at his bike and within a couple of minutes had diagnosed and quickly repaired his bike. It was such a quick fix that they did not charge us for their time and effort. Very friendly and customer-centric. Unlike a lot of companies today that are out to make a quick dollar, the staff at Village Bike truly cares about the customer and not the money in your pocket.

I visited Village Bike Shop in Jenison to find a mountain bike. I was helped by Alex. Though his badge said trainee he was an excellent salesman! I was fitted to the exact size frame and chose the perfect bike. Alex went out of his way to make sure I made the right choice. Thanks Alex!

Dropped my bike off for a tune up at the Jenison location. They were very helpful with explaining options on different tune up packages available. The bike was finished in a couple days and looks brand new. No complaints, thanks for the service.

BEST BIKE SHOP PERIOD !!!!!!Its know wonder they have been in business for so long there sales and customer service is bar none the best I have experienced. I took my tandem bike up the road on Chicago drive and after feeling like I was bothering every one in there and waiting forever I left and went to Village Bike Shop The staff was helpful, knowledgeable, and the price was right. I felt like they went the extra mile of adjusting my seat I did not ask they could see it was wrong, looked at my breaks could tell they where rubbing, showed me why my front tire was a little wobbly and how to fix it. none of these where the reason I brought it in they just took the extra time and effort to look it over, explain it all and really helped me out. They have made a customer for life.THANK Village Bike staff !!!

8/5/20 I Brought my bike in for service, they called me and told me it was done and ready to pick up. The next day I Loaded it up on my bike rack and noticed that the new chain that was put on was not routed correctly, went ahead and brought back and i waited 15 minutes, and then i head to head back to work, they called me and told me that my rear derailleur was stripped, pretty disappointed, since it was not caught before returning back to the customer. Its also disappointing because i had plans to go ride the trails as well. Gavin i believe was the technician who worked on my bike.

Wonderful experience. A bike mechanic asked if we needed help, he got some information from us and said let me get someone in sales to help you. They were so busy that they had pulled someone out of the office who no longer did sales. Dale was the best, asked us what we were looking for and didnt push anything. He gave us alot of useful information and he was an all around great guy. Was very nice and very helpful. I learned a lot about bikes in the short period of time my husband and I spent with him. I rode 52 miles on my new Shiv this past weekend! It was pretty sweet. I really, really like it so far. I didnt do any real speed work on it yet, but I cant wait to feel it more on the road! I said to my husband, Ross, a couple times, there were times where I felt like one with the bike! I havent had that feeling in awhile, but this what I wanted to achieve. There was also some good cross wind for a portion of the ride and it handled very well. I was so pleased. I feel so compact and powerful on that bike! The smaller frame size has to help with that feeling. The Shiv allows for a very precise fit, which has helped me get into the most powerful and aero position. Thank you Dale and Aron for the great service at the Jenison store. It was helpful to know I could get the bike so quickly! I cant wait to race on it soon.

After nearly 20 yrs of not cycling I revived my bike. I went to Village Bike & Fitness in Jenison. I believe my sales associate was Denise but dont quote me. I was treated with respect, courtesy and honesty. I was able to purchase the exact item I was in search of without pressure of upsale. I will be a happy return customer. A very relaxed atmosphere with a great selection and knowledgeable staff.

I was looking for a rack, trunk bag, and fenders for my mountain bike. All items were readily available online from Amazon, etc. at a lower cost. Whenever possible, I prefer to deal with a local retailer. Purchased a Topeak rack and later discovered that the price charged by Village Bike was 10% over list (confirmed with the manufacturer). Took the matter up with Denise who said that on some items they do this to stay in business. She offered a price match (requiring another visit). Paying retail price for local service is fine, but a premium over retail is exorbitant. Sorry to say I will go elsewhere in the future for my cycling needs.

Very poor customer service because they wont take there time to look at your bike theyll give you the fast fix price instead telling you what really is wrong with it.. Like West Michigan Bike and Fitness theyll take the time to look and ride your bike to tell you what the real problem is... So please do your business else where not here...

Went in there told me $170 to fix the bike told them I only wanted certain work done. they said it all needs to be done. West Michigan Bike on Chicago Dr fixed the bike for $79. I will not go to Village Bike again!!

As a beginner biker, Village Bike & Fitness proved to be a wealth of information as well as patient and encouraging.After losing 75 pounds, I wanted to purchase my first bike. I walked into the bike shop expecting to feel intimidated, but instead, found the staff to be very patient with me - taking time to explain things and answer all of my questions.Now, ten years later, having lost another 75 pounds, Im excited to be buying my next bike from them. Again, upgrading to a road bike this time, I had many questions and uncertainties, but they took their time to answer each one and made sure that I understood.I have referred many friends and family here the past ten years, and they all have been very satisfied with the bikes they bought and the exceptional service they experienced.Their bikes might draw you in, and their amazing service may be reliable, but their staff is what makes it a pleasurable experience that will bring you back again for years to come!Thanks Denise, Jeff, Zack, and Dale!

I called Village in Jenison yesterday, to see how backed up their service / repair area was. The woman on the phone was courteous and told me she thought they were relatively caught up and asked what my concerns were, with my bike. I explained to her that my bike wasnt feeling in-line, after having some work done on the headset and handlebars, and there was rattling in the handlebars while riding...all these items were new, after having some maintenance done elsewhere.She put me on hold to discuss my situation with Steve. She said they were caught up, so there wouldnt be a delay or need to schedule for a later date. I asked if this was true if I were to come right down then (about 3pm Friday afternoon), she said sure, and they may even be able to resolve the issue while I waited, if I had time.When I got there, it was evident she had explained my situation to several of the employees. I filled in some details for Aron (THE BEARDED ONE!), along with a few other miscellaneous items of note about my bike and he went right to work, even grabbing a demo saddle for me. He then handed the bike off to Steve who took the time to walk through each one of my issues, one at a time, to make sure I was satisfied with the way the bike felt and functioned (brakes, stem alignment, etc.). They really cleaned up a lot of little messy items over the course of nearly an hour, and didnt charge me much to do it.I have been going to the Jenison location of Village Bike & Fitness for several years because of this kind of service. I hadnt been there in a while, and this was the first time I had taken a bike bought elsewhere to them for service, but it wont be the last time.

We purchased a Yamika bike rack for 4 bikes only to find out it wouldnt fit small bikes or girl bikes without 40 dollar extenders (which they neglected to tell me about). Upon returning with receipt, box and only 1 time use they wouldnt refund full price. Over all poor time wasting, money wasting, and frustrating experience. These speciality stores are supposed to have good service and that was not my experience. Off to Wal-Mart.....

I have been a practicing physical therapist for the past 14 years. I spend my day assessing body mechanics and stressing the importance of correct mechanices to prevent and correct injury. So, when I decided to participate in my 1st sprint Triathalon I knew I needed a road bike that would fit my body correctly.I asked around and everyone I spoke with, novice or triathlete, said go to village bike and fitness in Jenison. I walked in and was greeted by the Manager, Aron. Initial impression: confident, passionate about his work, lots of knowledge. I asked question after question and he provided answers to each spending as much time with me as I need.When I got on my 1st bike he not only made sure the frame was the correct size but also measured seat height, saddle size and saddle position (explaining why each was important)...then I told him I was afraid to ride alone...guess what, he suited up and rode with me!!!Next, I shopped around. I went place after place looked at bike after bike, no place had the service or knowlege that I found at village, it was a BIG waste of time!!!!When I returned to purchase a bike Aron assisted me in choosing the right bike with the right fit and accessories for my needs. Again, spending as much time with me as I needed. Dale perfromed the fit ...which made perfect sense to my PT mind...allowing the bike to be adapted for me and my body mechaincs...meaning less chance for injury and more efficient cycling.This has been BEST experience!!! Aron and his team went far above and beyond!!! My recommendation:GO TO VILLAGE BIKE & FITNESS, dont waste your time anywhere else!!!!
