Shopping here is always a good experience for me. I can find international foods needed for my familys international palates. We love Asian cuisine and preparing them at home instead of always ordering take-out. It is clean, the aisles are clearly marked, and Covid-19 protocols are enforced for safe shopping.
Sells expired stuff! Make sure you check all expiration dates carefully because clearly there is no oversight from the store itself.I didnt realize until I got home, opened this yogurt and saw how watery it was, that it was over 3 MONTHS past its expiration date. Shocking and proves no one is doing a sweep through the store periodically to clear out old items, just leaving it there indefinitely.I saw a lot of old, rotten looking fruit and veggies in the produce section too. Disgusting and a health hazard.Update 2 weeks later: I went back out of curiosity and the same expired yogurts on the shelf are STILL there even after I informed the staff when I asked for a refund on the ones I got. Unbelievable.
Very fresh fruits and vegetables and I love their roast duck. Though sometimes theyre randomly missing some common Chinese staples.
This is a store I used to go every week. However, Im not sure about it in the future. The stocking is not enough and some of the product shelves are empty from time to time, and especially the vegetables are not fresh, even rotten. I know this happens so I dont blame them; the thing I dont like is the way they CHEAT. Theyd mark down the prices, say, for certain vegetables, however the prices at the register are a lot higher. This happened to me many times. Last week when I went there, I said let me test if this was still the case. The same thing. Then I brought it out to the casher. She called somebody to checkout the price, then adjusted it for me. Hope all customers pay attention to it when going there.
Various can choose! Cheaper than Korean and Japanese supermarket for some items. Vegetables are fresher! Love it!
This is the best Asian grocery store I have been to in NYC. I lived in Brooklyn before, so I usually went to those stores in Manhattan. This one is so far the biggest, cleanest. The prices are pretty good too. I got everything I needed - besides almond milk and oat milk. Not sure they were out of stock /simply not sold there. I also got the lunch combo and the bbq combo- they are pretty good and cheap. The auntie that served me today was very friendly as well. Highly recommended! I’m so happy to have found to this close to my new apartment.
Its a 99 Ranch, what more do you want? The only proper Asian supermarket in downtown JC. It even comes with a bubble tea shop! This is the Asian dream.
Bright, clean, best place for Chinese grocery shopping.
Everything is good except seafood department need to be improve.Stinky smell when pass by .dead clam dead crab dead oyster and expire fish still on shelve make me stay away from the fresh fish section. I will buy only salmon, live and frozen seafood.
99 Ranch is good but this location is the worst.Cons: - Dirty vegetables, expired items, no restocking schedule. Its hit or miss when they have certain items. Asked the manager and she said they dont have a schedule, whatever comes in at a certain day comes in. What a way to run a grocery. The Cashiers are rude and unhelpful/unknowledgeable and dont help bagging.Pros: They have some hard to find items but double check the expiration dates
Full of mysteries, but always a fun experience shopping here for ingredients I cant find elsewhere. The staff is usually pretty helpful, and the checkout is always quick too.
Lots of choices, very full of groceries. Wide variety of Asian food. Parking is very easy. Carts have disinfectant spray when you enter. Everyones very nice inside
Nice place clean, service is great. They have a place for dine in too and the food is good
Sometimes veggie is not fresh. Go before weekend hit, I think that’s when they restock for the weekend rush. I got expired shelf product few times. Better check the expiration date. Other than that, good variety Asian food selection and affordable bake goods.
They are threatening to tow cars of families that park in the lot to drop of PS3 students BEFORE the store opens. Truly appalled to see this behavior as part of our Jersey City community.
Lovely selection. Quick service. Bakeries n food in store. Clean bathrooms
Seafood always fresh.. Best in town
They have fresh produce and a big variety, seafood so fresh the fish 🐟 lobster 🦞 crab 🦀 will jump at you lol👍🏼highly recommend shopping here.
This place is amazingly clean and organized. Perfectly labeled items and awesome service at every station. Prices and products are at great too
This is not their flagship store. I found this location a bit disapointing. I wasnt going to wait on such long lines for the three items that I wanted.
Able to get veggies and meat at good price.
Love this place, super clean and great selection of produce. 99 Ranch is our staple go-to for fresh veggies and within convenient walking distance. This place is huge and well stocked I even have friends who drive all the way here from Queens since this is the one Asian Market where you find almost everything.
Very large and well stocked Asian grocery store. However, there is nothing on the outside signage which indicates this is a specialty store, so I was rather surprised when I went inside. Couldnt find what I came to get, but found lots of other interesting items.
One of the best asian markets ive been too! This place is always heavy stocked
My favorite asian store and buy my fresh seafood and fish there. They also clean and fry your fish. The produce is outstanding, with the kind of variety youd expect in a Chinatown market, with only slightly higher prices. Theres everything that you would expect in term of hard to find ingredients and supplies. The food court is similarly outstanding, with lots of Chinese staples at a reasonable price.
Great selection of groceries, fresh produce, and consumer goods
Open on 4-21-2017Is the exact copy of Edisons 99. Grocery, vegetables, seafood, fruits, beverage, meat Department. And food shops with dim sum, ready made hot food, bakery, bubble tea and cosmetics selling shop. Almost anything you can think of.Aisles are narrow and crowded, elbows to elbows, heels to heels. Get ready to sweat during weekend shopping.
Great place for Asian food.
Great place to get local Chinese food and rice
My go-to asian market. They have tons of varieties and I just love how accessible I can purchase my childhood Filipino snacks.
Great Asian food grocery store. The store was neat and clean and very well organized. The seafood market was vast. I love the food court, and their prices were affordable. I really enjoy shopping at this location. The staff was pleasant and friendly. This store was too busy on weekdays. Highly recommend!!!
MICE,MICE,MICE !!! These people leaving 5 stars are only payng attention to what they have available to sell. But fail to realize the mice problem they been having since they opened. This shouldnt be a factor in 2021. Disgusting !
Great grocery store. Vegetables are good and the seafood/fish is delicious. They even fry it for you if you want.
An abundance of variety in 99 Ranch. The store is very clean and organized. Prices are very reasonable and I love the small add on restaurants such as the bubble tea location in here to close out the experience.
Avoid the weekend crowd by going earlier in the morning. Big asian food market with lots of variety: harder to find fruits and vegetables, meats for BBQ, and freshly prepared foods.
Great supermarket with all sorts of groceries (spices, snacks, dry stocks... etc). Seafood, meat, fruit and vegetables are all reasonably priced and good quality. Some of the imported, limited time snacks are a bit pricey, but Id happily pay the premium just to get my grubby hands on them. Pastries selections are limited but super cheap.Tip: They give you $1 coupon for gourmet/prepared food and pastries for every $20 spent. You can instantly apply those coupons at check out. So pay for your groceries first and then work out those pastries/gourmet/prepared food items.
Large selection of interesting and high quality products
Crispy Pork belly and Roast Duck special. $8
Good store for lovers of asian grocery and fresh sea food. I like big vedgy, fruits option as well.
Dirty. It smells like rotting food in there.
Large Asian focused supermarket with a broad variety
The biggest Asian supermarket I have been to here in the East Coast, until I update you when I get to visit a much bigger one somewhere else (lemme know where at least here in the East Coast). I think I recall going to one of their locations in Southern California at least 4 years ago. I enjoyed the shopping experience.
Clean & well organized, live fishes, fresh meat, vegetables and various spicies from Asia can be found here. Nice!
Great produce and baked good section.
I had been researching where I could find all of the ingredients I use for my favorite Korean, Japanese & Chinese recipes, when Nix pointed out 99 Ranch in Jersey City. This place is super packed with all our asian food cooking needs and all the snacks our girls love. Looking forward to trying the food court area on our next visit. The only minor complaint I have is the language barrier with some of the employees, so be prepared with proper names of the products you are looking for or pictures.
Ive given this market a few chances because it is conveniently located by my house and IM DONE! There are MICE everywhere in this store running back and forth between shelves in full day. I walked by the meat case and smelt a terrible foul stench that made me almost vomit! The cashiers are the RUDEST to customers. One lady cashier was yelling at an elderly lady because she wasnt loading the groceries onto the belt fast enough. When I politely said that that wasnt necessary she told me IM NOT TALKING TO YOU! Horrible sanitary conditions HORRIBLE customer relations!! Dont go here!
If you want a real asian .market that is clean with great prices this is the one for you. Have been going to 99 ranch since I was a kid on the west coast . They literally have anything you need . Even forgot my beer under the cart and I called them back and someone returned it for me and they heald it for me .. I really appreciate it .
Great place to shop for Asian foods and products. And the prices are reasonable. Great customer service as well.
Except for everyones recommendation on fresh fish, variety of grocery and clean environment etc, I come here to give a big praise on its 1 hour priority shopping time for elder and pregnancy even now since pandemic starts! There is not many other markets doing it but 99 Ranch is still on it with empathy and consideration. Business is not only about money, thank you for it!
Has a good selection of everything Asian, however 75% of the fruits that I buy there are tasteless and never ripen properly. Sure, they might not be perfectly in season but 99 shouldnt be selling poor products.
This place is great for vegans and vegetarians given the variety of fruit, veg, and clean proteins. They have tofu in all possible forms, tempeh, curry bases, and tons of frozen vegetables dumplings.
I Enjoy the variety and hot food options but with soo many others markets as this one I would go elsewhere. It’s very very expensive
There fruits and vegetables are fresh .... they just not to friendly
The reviews really hyped me up for this experience, but I found myself really disappointed and only left with about 4 items in my bag.The bakery case was half empty at like 11am, only the same 3 flavors of cake over and over. The egg tarts were pre bagged, tiny and not fresh, cracked on the top.The hot food section was half closed, with very small variety, nothing like the pictures in the reviews, I was very sad because thats what I came here for. I wanted all the nice pretty dim sum in the pictures but there was nothing. The dumpling section was kinda small, nothing really appealing. The whole frozen section was kind of a miss really. The thing that really stuck out was the absolutely abysmal produce section. The vegetables were wilted and wrinkled. A pint of strawberry was $7 dollars shocking 😳 and they were old and leathery. They had pink pineapple that was completely rotten with green mold on it FOR $11 A PINEAPPLE! That is criminal, and they should be ashamed.I was able to find Taiwanese pineapple cookies which was nice, and I bought raspberries because my grandmother wanted, but when we ate, they had rotten flavor and we had to throw them away.Another disappointment was the instore bubble tea shop. They have the worst selection of teas and NO POPPING BOBA only tapioca. So what to put in my fruit tea? Tapioca? Yuk!I made a special trip from 3 towns away to shop here, never again! The pictures are a lie, they have changed since those pictures.
We buy seafood and some fruits. I like that they have a lot of variety.
This is the main spot for asian groceries in Jersey City, were talking mostly Chinese but also some Korean, Japanese, and the other guys. Plenty of spices and sauces, veggies, noodles, dried fungus type of stuff. Also a Cocos milk tea, a ramen spot, and cafeteria style Chinese kitchen. Bring your own bag cause they charge per bag. The meat is fine except the chicken which always looks yellow like it died of cancer rather than a butcher. There is a little park a couple blocks away if your wife kicks you out while she enjoys shopping.
HAS WVERYTHING I EVER NEED DUDE. As a asian food enthusiast this place is heaven for eaters and cookers
Nice large clean asian supermarket for all your grocery needs. You can pretty much find everything you need here.
Pretty good produce, lots of Ramen. Snack section a little bit lacking, but theyve got lots of good dumplings to make up for it. Also, there is a great coco bubble tea spot in gere.
One stop shop for Asian ingredients and cooked food. Prices are also competitive.
Excellent seafood. Was waiting in line when an attendant came and told us to check out at customer service. Was out the door in 5 minutes
This place is heaven. They have everything under the sun. The fresh produce gives Whole Foods and Trader Joes a run for its money. You can buy a massive bunch of scallions here for only 60c, whereas its $2+ for a tiny bunch of old scallions elsewhere. Lots of desserts and snacks to try. Theres also a fresh bakery which makes the best Chinese mochi. Lots of parking if you want to drive. Highly recommend!
The only large Asian market in Jersey City that I know of. Its pretty good too.
Price is higher than other 99 ranch markets in NJ. almost double those prices in Elmhurst or flushing
Pretty good place have everything!! Also offer student discount which helps me a lot in grocery savings!!!
Great place to get all your Asian food bought a hotpot cooker from here and I love it
Perfect Asian supermarket. Everything under one roof. And yes they have bubble tea as well.
I love it here they should make more stores around my house my favorite thing from here is the ramen store the Bubble Tea Store and the lychee coconut jelly
This is the only place I buy fresh veggies and seafood for the week!
I love love love this place, they have so much of everything, the produce section on its own is humongous. Great variety of Asian products and great prices on everything. Their bakery section is huge was well, they have a lot of already made for to choose from as well as baked goods. The bread pudding is delicious :)
A lot of great Asian finds!
This was my first time going here and it was great. I couldnt find chili oil at any of the other stores in the Heights, so I came here. They pretty much had an entire aisle dedicated to it. Its a really big store thatll pretty much have anything that youd need. Ill be going back fer sher.
I had good experience! If your looking for any Asian products Im sure you can find them here. Prices arent bad, good sales here. The cooked food is good, I always pick up a whole roasted duck $21, my family loves it! My only problem right now is at this time with Covid 19, they are not cleaning shopping carts between customers use. I suggest you at least bring a disinfecting wipe to clean the the handle of the cart. Enjoy!
I love the asian market here. They had great deals
Nice store to buy Asian foods.
The have a wide variety of seafood my favorite yum!
Great selection of fresh veggies.
