Ive been coming to this place for years, but only for emissions check and occasional oil changes. When I got a new used car this year I came here for a diagnostic check up and what not (the car is a 2008 Lexus RX350). They were great at explaining to me what was going on and what needed some care. I appreciated that because Im not a car person. Not only that, but they werent pushy on any of the services. I was given honest opinions on things that needed repair and things that should be serviced soon and things that I should observe in case I need to come back.Im so satisfied with the work they did, my car feels brand new! I wish I found them years before! I let them hold my car as long as they need because I know quality takes time, you should never rush someone at their job or else you wont be happy with the results. The mechanics there are great! Friendly and easy to talk too it shows that they have a good work environment. There were somethings that I saw they did not charge labor for to help me out and I really appreciated that (even though I would be happy to pay them)! Gio and Gio run this place well! They are definitely my go to mechanics now! Treat them well!!

Professionals par excellence. I’ve read some bad reviews here, don’t buy it. I came to get my summer tires put back on and had a few rims straightened.This place will assess your car, make a diagnosis, and spell out options. They are neat, organized, and concise. They are not the cheapest place in town but you get what you pay for.I’ve entrusted my new Tesla to them multiple times. They showed me and my ride respect. Long history in the neighborhood with ethical behavior. All their people are focused on the job at hand. Clean bathroom and WiFi to boot, what more could you want. All my best to the Ginos’

Excellent service. Can highly recommend.I needed tires installed on an exotic vehicle and was quite nervous when selecting someone to perform the work. Tony handled my vehicle and he was immediately able to pick up on my concerns. He took excellent care of it, and took the time to explain things to me to help assuage any concerns I had. I was very impressed by Tonys service, and would not hesitate to recommend this shop to anyone.

I had a great recent experience with WestSide Tire & Auto! They performed my state inspection and fixed a leaky tire. Service was done on time, and the staff was professional, thorough, and very courteous.

I was in and out for my state inspection. I was treated fairly and with respect. As a female going to any auto mechanic place they are sometimes not as nice and respectful to females and treat them dumb. Not the case here. I did have a guy with me too so idk if that helped lol but nonetheless the service was good and speedy. Thank you.

These guys for a fact took advantage of me. I had a timing chain issue with an Audi that they couldn’t fix but still charged me $300 for lol. Also they apparently did an engine oil flush and filter replacement to ‘try’ to fix it but I know this has nothing to do with fixing the timing chain because I work on cars myself...

I came here a few days ago to get one of my tires patched because it had a nail in it. The guy tells me that it’s 35$, if I use cash, 37 if I use card. I pay in cash, which is a price that is already over what is usually charged for this kind of service. I then ask for a receipt, to which he begins to Hand write out, then he asks for an additional 2$ for a receipt, claiming that it’s “tax”. How do I have to pay tax on a receipt after paying for the service? Ridiculous. Thank God I didn’t come here for a more serious issue with my car. Beware, seem very money hungry if you ask me.I understand tax is charged for services in this country. But never have I had to pay “tax” just for a hand written receipt 😂 that’s ridiculous.

I love this place, they always go above and beyond for their customers. I came in the late afternoon to have my car checked, turns out I needed an alternator and battery, because I no longer live in town they had their best guy work on my car. I came in @ 2:30 and left at 5. Thanks you guys for always taking care of me & my car!!

In last 3 weeks I have gotten two flat tires. First time, I found these guys on web. I went to see them, they said no problem and it was fixed immediately. Today same thing, different tire. I went there hoping last time was not just good luck. Again I was taken care of immediately. The Guys are friendly, owner always around and without a doubt... my go to place for auto repair.

This is possibly the best place to have your car repaired and maintained in Jersey City.I had my tires mounted on new wheels at Mavis Tires a week ago, they did a horrible, wouldn’t help me install a spacer on my wheels, damaged the interior of my rims and ruined my entire month.Enter Gino and his team, they provided phenomenal service. They fixed my tire balancing, installed the wheel spacer and even gave me future recommendations. They made me feel welcome, and they are now my go to for any repairs or maintenance.If you want your car handled right, with professionalism and experts this is the right place to go!

After getting into the car one afternoon I saw the brake light was on. I opened the hood to check the brake fluid and it was completely empty. I took the car to their shop and they informed me the brake lines were rusted which caused a leak. Their pricing is great and definitely worth the money. Had the car back in a very short amount of time and the brakes are in top shape again.I completely recommend them to anyone having issues with there car. Will return to them if I encounter any other issues in the future👍🏽

Just recently, I had an issue with my car that was causing the entire car to sway left and right whenever I was driving on the highway and also had a ABS issue that was severe and my alternator was about to go. This is by far best service Ive got in the area. Got flat tire one day, tried several places big and small, response was - we cant do it today, we cant do 21 inch size rim, this is not fixable, we dont have this big patch size, etc, etc. Only West Side Tire and Automotive without any hesitance did the job. Tire holds well, price is very good, professional staff. Got in and out in 90 mins. Would definitely come back if other service needed!

Techs do a great job, although pricing is all over. They charged me $60 to swap 4 tires + balance, which was great. But the second time I came in, they charged me $240 to swap 4 rims + balance...Same car too.

I pray the work that I paid for was done properly.. Labor cost is ridiculous. I should have went to grand street as suggested by triple a. This place was closer. Never...again. Two tire plug, oil change and 2 wheel stud replacement cost $283. The labor states $168. Dealer mechanic is way less. I really paid for convenience. 😒

Don’t bother letting them “try” to mount a 335-20 tire. Three wasted hours of my life never coming back.Probably good for ham and egg cars. Anything slightly exotic, look elsewhere.

Went to Gino for a 150k tune up and some major repairs. The crew did a fantastic job. Car drives so much better and feels so much nicer. Would definitely recommend anyone to come here. Ask for Gino and he will for sure answer your questions.

I cannot thank Gino and his team enough. I was driving with me two daughters when I drove over something on the road. I thought at first it was a flat. The noise increased as I continued to drive. I met a man who suggested coming here. What a blessing. They took me in right away. The damage to the car was far worse than a flat. With a diagram they explained what happened and what needed to be done. They were supportive and straight with me. Team was very nice, professional, place looked clean and new. Had squeaky breaks on my BKW 328i xDrive, came in 9am on a Saturday for inspection of the noise. As expected, I needed new brakes. Westside did a great job getting me a full brake service same day (car was ready by 130pm same day) and much, much less than the BMW dealership. This was the first repair I needed on my car but I am comfortable going back and was very happy with service.

I was looking for a nearby place for New Jersey State Inspections and found West Side on Google. My vehicle was seen within 5 minutes of arrival and I was out within 20 minutes. Very expedient and great customer service. Thank you for being convenient and expeditious, West Side!

I was stranded 5 hours from home with two damaged wheels and flat tires. I was told by pep boys they could not help me. Gino and his team at West Side made sure I got home. They fixed one wheel and sent workers out to find me a replacement wheel for the other. I was worried not having a car and being so far from home. Felt stranded and alone. These guys fixed everything for a great price and had me on my way. I learned not to fall for the chains and their flashy stores and commercials. These guys took me in last minute and got my car inspected and fixed up within days.I’d like to edit this review: I got a new car that needed new inspection stickers and they had it inspected and ready in AN HOUR this time. cannot recommend these guys enough!

Ive had work done twice here - alignment and tire mounting. The work in general is fine, but some attention to detail is somewhat lacking.The first time I went for an alignment, I came home and found a vice grip still attached to one of the tie rods. I returned it the vice grip.Second time around was to get tires mounted. I left the shop with a pulsating brake pedal. The rear drum was improperly aligned after removing and mounting wheels causing the pads to contact at an oblong rather than a circular motion. Owner ensured fix before leaving again.Shop is generally kept clean, owner is very nice and the work seems fine, but a little more attention to detail might prevent these things from happening.

These guys charged me for unnecessary repairs when the car couldn’t be fixed. Watch out!

I was unsure who to use when my car needed repair. A friend suggested West Side Tire & Automotive. They are great. The work was done on time and they gave me a fair price. They didnt try to upsell or do other things to my car. Good honest service what more could I ask for. I highly recommend them. They are my car guys now.

The place engages customers with contradictory advice/technical double-speak in order to get you to purchase more services from them than you need. Later on when you argue over the work done, they tell you that you told them you wanted both services when you made it clear you only needed one. Then as a gesture of good faith they say that theyll discount the additional work that you never wanted in the first place in order to get you to agree to pay for it.Left the place feeling like I needed a shower. Im out an additional $90+tax for repairs I didnt want; Id ignore the reviews describing this place as honest. Typical tire shop BS.

DO NOT COME HERE. I came in because my wheel bearing was going bad. At the time I did not know what the issue was so I brought my car there for a diagnostic and oil change while at it. Gino told me they would figure out the problem and call me back in the afternoon, mind you this was in the morning. Almost 5 o clock closing I called them and he says oh yeah its finished. So much for the phone call. I head back to Gino to inform me that his guys had to build a stability cover and it took his guys all day whatever that means. I ask him if the noise is gone and he says yes. So I look at the bill and its a whopping $375 job. After asking him to show me exactly what it is he did he brings me back and points to a couple zip ties under my car. I drove the car and the noise was gone, so I payed and left. Day after my car comes back with the noise. Went back three times for it to go away, to the point where Gino already showed his true side. An old man who angry and likes to rip people off. I went ahead and called my bank to reverse payment on them. DO NOT COME HERE unless you like to get ripped off. I went to another mechanic and all I needed was a new wheel bearing then the noise finally went away. Gino and his family did not seek to help they only saw an opportunity to rip off when a young man with little knowledge of cars walked through those doors. -ye

Bad customer service! I had a nail in my tire and I called to ask if they had a used tire for my car I gave him the measurements and he said to come in. So I go and I cant find the key to my tire locks the guy takes it off and he was very nice. He goes to talk the manager and they come back and confirm I wanted a used tire then tell me they dont have a used one. Only a new one. I ask him the price he said $125 + tax (used is $50 as per our phone convo) I got so upset because I called first I didnt just show up! I couldnt spend $125+ at the moment which is why I called! He didnt offer me a discount for the new tire for the trouble. I said you already took off the tire. His response was we can put it back on like no attempt to keep me as a customer no care for the trouble at all. Then I had to pay for the removal of the lock. ( it was not a big deal really only $10) but after all that you cant even say Im really sorry for the trouble dont worry about the lock. I left there so upset. Never going back.

A Very disrespectful establishment!!! I came here to get my tire plugged they ended up patching my tire and charged me more than I expected. they also made me wait an hour and somehow managed to scratch the hood of my car these things I dont complain about but what I do have a problem with is them disrespecting my Bible and throwing it on the ground cover down. My Bible sits in my passenger seat. Theres no excuse for anyone touching or removing anything religious from its original place in my car. The work needed is to be done on the outside of the car not the inside! Very disrespectful!!!

My car, a Mercedes sedan for a month or so developed two problems. A strange noise and an issue with the check engine light, which prevented me from renewing my tags, didnt pass inspection.I settled on Westside tire and auto. Right away after a short explanation from the shop owner his name is Gino, he explained that they would check the cars noise trouble and then after that go to the check engine light issue. They said that electronic diagnostics was $75 If I didnt do the job, but if I did then there was no charge for checking the issue.To make a long story short, it ended up being a right wheel bearing the noise issue and they replaced a sensor that had to do with the engine pollution control. The final tally, $489 plus the State Inspection fee of around $50 bucks. A drastic difference from the dealer numbers. What does this say, find yourself an independent repair shop that you trust and stay there. I trust Westside Tire and Auto with my car. I dont want to buy a new car and I dont want to pay dealer repair charges. Its that simple. Mi

They stand behind their work and will make it right. The problem is, in my experience it was never done right the first time.My first experience with West Side Tire & Auto was simply to put new tires that I bought from Tire Rack. Gino suggested doing wheel alignment at the same time. I was impressed with the new wheel geometry machine they just installed and Ginos knowledge of the craft, so I decided to buy that extra service. Unfortunately, after the realignment the car was over steering and the steering wheel was off-center. When I pointed that out, Gino personally took the car for a test drive and although he felt there was nothing wrong with it he agreed to redo the alignment at no additional cost. Thankfully, it was done right the second time.Our second experience was replacing break pads. Once again I got persuaded to replace rotors and breaking fluid at the same time, which would triple the price of the job. To me the rotors were thick enough to keep going, but Gino pointed out a lip that formed on the outer edge of the rotor and claimed that just putting new pads in would make the breaks squeak. He promised to put high quality stuff in, so again I bit the bullet and did the whole thing. Sadly, another disappointment. At least one of the breaks was making rustling noises and a rubbery residue was accumulating on the rotor. After a week of driving and no improvement the car had to spend another four hours in the shop when they discovered that the rotor was uneven or something like that, and had to order new ones in. So, I am doubtful about the quality of the materials and I am thoroughly disappointed with only superficial quality assurance on part of the owner.If you promise top quality it is not enough to make it work, you should make it right and the first time around.Update: I actually forgot one more very positive experience where they spent a good hour to find a very elusive leak in a tire. Fixed it perfectly where another shop gave up after three attempts. +1 star. I want to love these guys, but I hate wasting time.

The tire alignment is so bad. The guy cant do alignment properly. While driving the car was pulling over to the right. I needed to replace the whole crank later and costed me almost 500 bucks. I had gone to change new tires and they did alignment. Never ever go to thus place for tire alignment.

I went to them because service engine soon light in my bmw was ON, and since it was close to my place I thought I would give it a try.They said they will do the diagnostics and will be adjusted the diagnostics cost in the repairs. After keeping my car overnight and performing supposedly diagnostics, they said something was seriously wrong with the emissions and my car will not pass the inspection but I had done the inspection just previous day. That point it confirmed that there is something wrong with this service center. They said the repair cost would be around 1k.Today I went to the bmw authorized service center (since my bmw was running very rough after the service here at westside automotive 2 weeks ago) and they said the last time where you had done serviced they unplugged some pipe which would seriously cause damage to the car. There was no issue with the emissions thing at all. After the service at the authorized service center my car is running smoothly without any issues.I dont recommend this service center at all. Please save yourself from hassle, save money and save your car. Dont go here.

Woooorrrssssttt ever!!!! I went there with the diagnostic codes from NJ inspections I was there to find out how much it will cost me to repair the issue . You know what happened they charged me with diagnostic fee of $96 !!! It’s redundant I already have the report and codes that needs to be repaired ! And they charge double!! My first time and I will not return!!! What they did is the same as what the NJ inspection did and still they charged u!!!!

Do not come to this place!!! Brought my Jeep for a wheel allignment they adviswd me that I a tire rotation so I agreed. While driving my rear tire fell off and side bumper WISHED I could have recover my wheel because they refused to replace tire and tried to claim my tire rims were damaged. Now Im stuck having to buy a new tire out of my own pocket.

These guys are pretty good I try to avoid the shops such as Firestone complete auto care and Pep-boys because they do not hire real techs lol as, for this place they are good at what they do and they also have reasonable prices that are not completely marked up I am sure somethings are expensive, but overall they are what a mom and pop repair shop should be local dependable and reasonably priced and they manage to get the job done right the first time.
