This store is the closest target to where we live and its really good. It has some good deals all the time and it was some good quality products at a decent price. The in-store pickups and exchanges are seamless and the cist service representative is kind enough to answer any questions unlike many other Target stores. Also compared to ShopRite you get a lot more organic options here which is great. The only thing messy is the wardrobe section where a lot of clothes are lying on the floor unattended. A good store in all.
This is definitely NOT one of the better Target locations. Merchandise seems to be in a constant messy state, shelves are empty quite a bit, and too often pallets are just left in the middle of the aisles for customers to tear open on their own. I understand being in an area where customers are wreckless, sloppy and rude, makes operating a department store more difficult but this Target needs better management in dealing with those issues. Prices are typical compared to other NJ Target stores
Dont go on a Saturday afternoon if you are in a hurry. Store cant handle the volume and ALL the queues go 3/4 down the store. And this is before the holidays!

The people who work there are fabulous and found items that I needed. The line was long but, it went fast and smoothly. It was a little messy but, on the weekends its understandable.

Unfortunately this is the closest target to where we live. This place is always in disrepair. I have never seen more staff standing around while clothes are disheveled, and merchandise is on the floor. Every time we go here I feel like I cant find what Im looking for because everything is so out of place.
I love Target! Sadly, this location is a mess. They are not well stocked, items are all over the place and some of the team members need to improve their communication skills. Customer service surveys don’t seem to matter at this location.

The target employee were so kind and patient helping me with multiple suggestions and eventually opened the boxes and took out the pieces so I could fit the smaller pieces to my car. I was sent an email that I had to pickup my sons bike by Friday. The bike was supposed to be ready for pickup on Tuesday. I went on Thursday evening to pickup the bike and it was not assembled. A supervisor came and spoke with me and told me that the bike just arrived at the store and was not assembled. I explained that the email stated that I had until Friday to pickup the bike. The supervisor promised me that the bike would be assembled and ready for pickup. I went the next day and waited for approximately 20 minutes before the supervisor I talked to on Thursday made sure the bike was ready for pickup. I was glad to see the supervisor I spoke to on Thursday. I wish I would have asked for her name, because she was great.
Customer service and cashiered in this store are great. The store is very nice, clean and organized.
Why do companies have phone numbers if no one is professional enough to answer to their incoming customer calls. My experience with the store has been a true nightmare in regards to making a call and actually getting a response from Guest Services. To make matters worse, there is no way to write the store because they have no email; how convenient!
I love target overall but truthfully, there are some locations where the customer service is not the best; however, I just feel like I need to mention how the service was at this location in downtown Jersey City. Germaine (the cashier who rung me up) was SO SO sweet, funny, and welcoming. I normally dont go out of my way to write good reviews but I just loved the way she greeted not just me but the 2 other people in front of me! It truly seemed like she loved her job and was not miserable. Sometimes the cashier could care less to start a conversation with you and I get it but Germaine was social and smiled :)Also I want to point this out: As I was shopping around, there were multiple times where I kept hearing the manager/supervisor/or someone hirer in authority (it was a female) praising her staff for doing a great job via the walkie talkie. I love that!! That is what motivates your employees/staff, I used to love when my manager would compliment my work, it made me feel good!

I am not one to write reviews so this means a lot. Lisa, the front end store manager, really helped my husband and I out with a check out. Her poise, grace and professionalism with figuring out the solution to the problem exhibited her problem solving skills. She is an asset to Target, especially this location. More employees should be trained with her ‘Four Seasons’ management.

The Jersey City Target is my wifes favorite go to store for the kids and household needs. They have a Great Selection and Affordable Pricing. The store is clean and well organized. We highly recommend a visit to see for yourself.
I am unsure of the employee masking policy, as I saw employees in the Ulta section not wearing them pulled over their noses. I was not impressed. The store was a mess and the stock was low in the nailpolish and bath sections.

Target obviously has quality products and selection, but I had such a positive interaction with an employee named Joyce in the Jersey City selection. I was there with my son; we were tired, hungry and shopping on a budget. Initially, she engaged with my 4 year old in a friendly genuine conversation. After coming well under our budget; we decided to go back and grab an additional item. Joyce told us with a smile that it was no problem and she would hold our spot. We were able to run back and grab what we needed, without any issues.
Love this Target. Its classier than Walmart for sure.One issue Indo have is that there are way too many employees here socializing and when you need help, they avoid you (they turn away from me when they realize I am approaching them for help).The technology department has a guy staff that is pro active and will approach you himself if you need help. He is an exception to the ruleSome departments are not kept clean while some are. Depends on the employees that manage these areas I presume.While Walmart has most of its items Made in Communist Peoples Republic of China (PRC), some items at Target can be found that are not from PRC, which is great for healthy safety reasons.

This Target, near the Holland Tunnel, employs Vanessa Wing who not only conducted herself like a model employee, but a caring and thoughtful person who identified and understood my needs as a person and a customer. She went above and beyond to look for my item in the back storage area, which is not something you can easily convince a Target employee to do sometimes. She checked the stock numbers - saw there was a slim chance and went right back and pulled out the plastic storage tub I’ve been looking for for weeks. She’s a pleasant, honest and hardworking person who I look forward to saying hello to next time I’m in the store.

Skip this branch. At 7:30pm on a weekday (March 15) they had ONE checkout line with a cashier. Ya there’s self checkout but that’s not really practical for a big shopping trip. Had to wait 15 minutes for the one cashier. She was doing her best, but management hung her out to dry. Unpleasant experience.Y’all can keep those labor costs as low as you want, but my future shops will be at the Acme up the road.

Always find what I need
I had a small problem while shopping on 7/12/21 (couldnt find what I was looking for, the cashier didnt tell me the total cost of my purchase and I had to ask), and after filling in a survey when I got home, the store manager immediately contacted me to discuss my problem. He invited me back to the store and made things right.
I’m 38 weeks pregnant and customer service did nothing to make my shopping experience more convenient. In fact they went out of their way for me to wait on 3 long lines. First, to make a return and then another line to pick up my online order ( even though they were standing right next to each other) and then another line to purchase items. I don’t expect special treatment. Just think a little common courtesy would be nice.

Made fun / talked smack about my having a service dog in front of my face while checking out for apparently “not knowing the rules”. Unkind and extremely uncalled for. Dog had vest on, as well as ID in my wallet.
Store was closing and an employee did say the store was closed I took a last glance at something and she said it again, I said ok and proceeded to walk to the line to pay. As I’m walking towards the line another employee was trying to get my attention “excuse me” and also told me the store was closed. All I said was “yes I know, she told me” and then another employee who was next to her said “well it’s our job to tell you over and over and over again” but in a rude way. The other said thank you to her for telling me that and they both laughed. If they wanted to take what I said in an offensive way then that’s on them. So unprofessional.
One can get groceries as well as drugs and clothes and other miscellaneous things under one roof at reasonable prices.
I know target isnt supposed to let pets in the store but I was there on Saturday and I saw 4 dogs in the carts while i was there. And no,they were not service animals. Employees didnt say anything about it, Im sure security saw the dogs thru the cameras but I guess nobody cares about health department policy

This Target has everything. The Target Circle App was introduced to me by a fellow Target shopper. The cashiers have helped me out. But LUE was the best at explaining how to use it! Im at Target almost every weekend!

Sophia, who works at pick up orders/returns, and Julio, who at the time was organizing cards like a machine, are so friendly and honestly, the best employees at target Ive ever come across. They made my experience at Target actually enjoyable. Julio felt like a friend and helped me pick out cards after I was exhausted looking for cards for over an hour. He went over and beyond and felt like he actually cared. Sophia was so friendly and cheerful that she lifted even my cold and deadened spirit up. She was so accommodating and took care of my other purchases as well. Both are so hardworking and kind people despite the pandemic. Hope management takes notice.
Not only was each member of the store that I dealt with kind and helpful, but I noticed a supportive sense of community amongst them. I could tell this was a positive work environment and provided me with an excelled experience in-store.
Amazing customer service here!!! Seriously hands down incredible service. My friend and I are two travel nurses here in New Jersey from Texas trying to help where we are needed. We thought bikes would be a great way for us to commute to and from the hospital without making are already sore feet feel worse. Only we couldn’t find any bikes, we finally got two ordered only problem was we needed to assemble them. The store manager brought us all the tools needed and allowed us to assemble them on site so we could ride them back to our hotel! Jeri, your hospitality did not go unnoticed! Thank you all so much for being so accommodating for us!

INSANE waits for the self checkout because half of the stands are STILL closed for distancing. For the record, NJ has been reopened for two months now!
I purchased a rather large box (the cat scratcher taco van) I did self-checkout, there were no large bags, I went to customer service, no large bags, I asked for a handle, there were no handles either, the young woman at customer service was helping people with in-store pickups and seemed perturbed that I asked for a bag/ handle and was not nice at all. I do not drive and was talking the light rail for a 30-minute ride home and then a 10-minute walk with a large awkward box, why do you not have bags to fit the items you sell or at least another way to carry them?
Target has gotta be making these reviews. This is the worst worst target I’ve ever been to.
Because is my favorite store
I had the hardest time trying to find baby gates. I went to so many stores only to find really cheap ones my kid could climb over. I found a variety here and they had gates with different heights and widths which was also a key factor. The shopping was easy and staff helped me find it right away. On the way out i even got a hotdog and Starbucks.
The store itself is really nice and updated but the service in the pick up area is SLOW. There were 4 employees standing around socializing while another customer and I waited for them to help us. They continued their conversation for at least 5 mins before helping us out and the store wasnt busy.
My husband and I have been trying to get use to the area since we are new to Jersey City and I finally found this Target. The young lady in the home cleaning department & the people at customer services were beyond helpful and patient with me. The only issue is the wait for assistance in the electronic area and the long lines and their website needs to be up to date because they say specific things are in stock but they arnt but other than that good experience. Will be coming back.

This is a average target shop by target standard. There are few checkout lanes service by actual people, so everybody has to check out by help yourself lanes. The problem is they don’t have enough self checkout lanes

OK so I had an issue with a brand new TV that I bought yesterday! My husband went to set it up this morning n it was broken see picture attached! So I called this morning spoke to Nick to replace the TV with no issues! Hes brought the new TV out… n that TV looked like it was mangled! So Nick again helped us get an even better TV!! He was so very patient and helpful!!

This place refuse to take return. Saying that it is NJ state policy. In that sense, how can other stores in Newport mall take returns of same types of items? They should at least say let know the customer that items are final sales before purchasing. Its no where in store. Disappointed.
The ease of the order and the ease of pick up. When I went to pick up the order this really educated young lady helped me, she was so courteous and friendly they should hire more people like her.
It was nice and easy. My order was ready before the time period. I didnt wait at all. I was in and out.

I came to the Jersey City location with a problem that Target.com couldnt solve, and the in store employees Aaron (ETL AP), Asia ( S&E Teamleader), and Christian (in Electronics) were gracious and helpful the entire time. We came in at around 2:30 and had the problem solved in no time. These employees went above and beyond and saved us a lot of stress. They deserve recognition for their customer service skills. Based on this experience I will have nothing but high praise for the staff at this Target location for years to come. Cheers.

This store is notoriously understaffed and the staff they do have is largely incompetent.If you come on the weekend, be prepared to wait in line 3x longer than the time spent shopping.According to the staff here, they get paid on Saturday, and then everyone calls out sick on Sunday.
They do curbside orders now. Download the app, pay for your stuff drive to the store and someone brings it out to your car.Great selections in varied areas and of course cartwheel deals! I never see the pizzas or breadsticks available though! But Starbucks is there!
