Wonderful shop with variety in collection of pets like Aquarium fishes, Exotic pets like Phython, Scorpion, Spider, Lizards etc.. tropical sea fishes, tortoises, parakeets, cocktails, macaw, hamster, bunny, bettas, dog and cat accessories, food varieties of all pets, aquarium tanks and decorations. I went to buy a betta fish. The store person really care about customers and their pets. They are not minded on money or business. They give care for pets a lot. They give suggestions good. Please do visit this shop. I will surely visit again. 👏👏👏👏👏

Tried getting an appt over the phone, was told to call back on Monday or Tuesday. Called almost all day Monday and Tuesday but no one ever answers. Decided to go to the store itself but the store was locked even though it was clearly hours of operation. Was recommended this place, but obviously will have to go elsewhere.

This store is always great but lately they have just opening up the gates and leaving the front door locked! It was 12 I waited outside for 20 minutes left and came back 20 minutes later for them to still be closed! This is now the 3rd time the door is locked during business hours

Glad its there. Gabby is great. The fish guy and groomer are nice and patient. Other times clerks are handling too much by themselves and I dont have the patience on top of some overpriced items. I often use Amazon instead. One more person wld improve it a lot. Update: Had to go back for help with my fish...they really tried to gibe me their attention and expertise. They are growing on me.

Great store on central ave - jersey city to get fish, fish food and fish tanks.

Lily was very sweet. She helped me pick out a fish and educated me on all of the things I needed to purchase. She even engaged in my small talk lol. Great customer service. Would’ve gave 5 stars but the store looks a bit outdated.

Bunnies (males and females) are kept in a small cage which could result in breeding which can further result in more bunnies which then eventually get dumped and added to shelters. To further the issue, the bunnies are kept with absolutely 0 access to hay 24/7. Bunnies need constant access to hay as their GI system is very delicate. Lack of hay can cause GI stasis, and without immediate treatment, can result in death. Bunnies hide their illness very well and so it’s terrible that these bunnies do not have access to hay, a must-have staple in their diet. This was made aware to the pet store yet access to hay was not provided even after further inspection. Terrible. Poor bunnies.

I got some fish from them. They are pretty but little bit over price. The place got old and empty when I go visit for the second time. Lots empty tank sitting in the store which make it look like it is going to close soon.

Improper animal care ! I can speak more for rabbits/bunnies. Hay is 80% of a rabbits diet, they need hay 24/7. If not they can go into GI Stasis. Best to use a bowl with water and not their water bottle. They are also very over price, bunnies are $120 and cages as well (bunnies do not belong in cages any ways) . Just get an Xpen and save your money. Bunnies in the right environment is so rewarding you get to really enjoy them. PLEASE DO RESEARCH BEFORE PURCHASING AN ANIMAL

They have a bird that is clearly depressed. Plucking out his feathers and it’s really awful. I can’t even buy him cause he’s “not for sale” so he’s stuck in this cage his whole life. This place has no concept on how to deal with exotic animals

I would give it 4 stars only because they do t offer refunds only store credit... but other than that the help is great.

Their rabbits are very over priced at $120 each. I only spent $40 for a baby Mini Rex 2.5 years ago. Please adopt for a much more reasonable fee. Also I noticed the rabbits had no hay. Bunnies of any age should always have hay and water 24/7. Please get some alfalfa & timothy hay for these poor baby bunnies.

Very friendly service when it came to obtaining my fish for my water tank. They have a variety of freshwater fishes and saltwater as well. Fishes different sizes and great variety. Looking foward to returning to them in the future.

I bought a plastic cage for my frog but is incomplete part missing when I return the tilde maybe someone else took it??? Acuse me a took it but anyway she give the parts missing

This place has their bunnies in a small wired cage with no appropriate food. An employee says she fed the bunnies hay in the morning, but anybody who is informed with rabbit care should know that they need unlimited access to hay...this place needs informed and caring employees.

Unfortunately when I visited this place I notice improper animal care, I can’t speck for most but I saw bunnies in a too small cage with no hay. Along with other concerns with the other animals. I had to leave, couldn’t purchase from a pet store that doesn’t take proper care of their animals.

They treat their animals horribly and have no real education on them. they torture their rabbits by not giving them the proper care they need especially young rabbits who need constant hay and the workers refuse to give it to them. they have been asked to change their behavior and they refused. horrible establishment!!

Around my town we only have chain pet shops like PetCo and PetSmart, so that was the sort of treatment I was used to for pet animals. When I had bought parakeets from these stores in the past, we were often given animals that were hurt or infected in some way and it was very depressing. I came to Caribbean Pets this summer to buy a baby lutino lovebird. I had called the store several times before to inquire about the baby before going and the staff was always polite and answered all of my questions. My family was impressed with how the store was with its birds; all of the parakeets, cockatiels, and lovebirds were bright and healthy and we were told a vet comes frequently to check on them. We also saw bunnies and a ferret in the store that were very lively and healthy looking, not at all like the animals I would see in the chain stores. Aside from having the lovebirds, the store also had supplies for bird care, including more specialized seed mixes, cages, and formula for hand feeding. The prices on the cages were more than reasonable, we got a big ol cage for our baby. Two months later and our bird is still healthy and growing every day! A big thank you to Caribbean Pets, especially Lilly and Noel, who I can tell really care about their animals and were so helpful in helping us find a new fluffy friend.

I come here for all my pet needs. I have multiple fish tanks so i visit this place often. Extremely friendly staff, equipped supplies and fishes. The cost is pretty reasonable. They help and guide you for all your needs and concerns. The variety of fishes they have is pretty good.

Great Groumer this girl have great touch that’s my Concern about my puppy after terrible experience in Jersey City (paws) from the park 07307 they cut and burner my puppy. I was scared about to try but i field happy to try great job I recommend 100% my xena is happy ty Caribbean pets .

New to the neighborhood and today my family and I come to the store for the first time and I must say we was very impressed.. The store was clean and organized, a young lady named Lilly that was there was a little busy when we irrived but as soon as she was done with the customer she was tending she gave us her undivided attention was and helpful to us. This place is extremely over priced for the products they have. All animals have poor care, they’re ferrets are litterslly about to have heat strokes in the summer. And there’s one lady there that has a really nasty attitude. Seriously this place sucks. Convienent or not you guys really need to do something about that. All animals have filthy cages too. I would really like to speak to the owner about this. I know everyone has to make money some how and I’m not fond of people losing their jobs but this place has to get shut down. Animals are living their worst lives in there. Reptiles are kept in sand. Which if you know is bad. I’m sorry but its either this place gets shut down or loses its license to sell live animals because this is extremely ridiculous ++ the service. This one Hispanic lady has so much attitude, I asked her for crickets, she asked me what size? I told her large, and when I got them they were too big, so I decided to ask her if I can get smaller ones she gave me an attitude and told me no there’s no more. But if there’s no more why ask me for the size of them?? Or this place has to get completely restarted or new owners or something.

Today September 17,2016 I went to this particular pet store because they only have fish and birds and my daughter is severely allergic to cats and dogs. Not only is this place filthy but allowed a dog owner come in with his dog and the dog pissed all over the floor. My daughter was severely triggered and was taken in an ambulance. Before leaving I had purchased two black Moore and Pleco. One of the black Moore is sick with the gills over out and the dorsal fin bent. I didnt realize this in the store cause their tanks are not well kept and my daughter was complaining of I by throat. The snails are all dead and their selection of fishes are not of great quality. They look stressed. When I called they were rude and defensive when I explained about the Moore as if I would lie and what they sell is of quality. Even the parrot in the window and one the cage is stressed. Its pulling its feathers off due to how bad that pet store truly is. It stinks in there and they dont clean up after their animal. I think this establishment is beyond disgusting needs to be shut down.

OMG NO! JUST NO! A true pet owner would understand that this place should be out of business.I walked in there one time and looked at their animals and was disgusted. The animals looked like they weren’t getting proper care,, the bird looked like it was so neglected it was going to die. I ask myself how this place managed to stay open. Honestly it’s just not recommended to buy an animal from that place. Seriously why is it still open

Pitbull unfriendly. I waited for almost 1hr. for service, the Vet asked if my Pitbull was up to date with vaccines and I said yes. The Vet wanted to see proof of vaccination, maybe if they would of mentioned it when i called I would have brought the paperwork with me. I told the recepcionist they should of said something before making me wait for an 1hr. Their response was, oh is that hes a Pitbull. I am pretty sure the 5 dogs that were serviced before mines didnt get asked if they were up to date since none of them were Pitbulls. You need to keep the standards for all breeds. STOP discriminating against Pitbulls.

I was looking in there to stock up my new cycles 10 gallon tank and I decided to get 2 cherry barbs for now, I bought them and went to my car and then noticed there were tiny white wiggly roundworms all wiggling around in the water! I went back and they said nothing was there so I wanted a refund and they have me my money back. This place has filthy water and they have 50 fish in little 5 gallon tanks! Never coming here again.

Walked in here while walking around jersey city and normally Ill go into a pet shop and just check out animals and see the nice birds and reptiles... its the worse place I ever went into. They had a tank of small lizards that were all dead. There was a bearded dragon that was unrecognizable as such, it was raw looking as if its skin was decaying off its body while it was just left to rot in a tank. Places like this need to be shut down!!! Asap

Short on alot of dog items and cat items, decent but if you cant find a popular pet toy that majority of pet stores carry, it says alot about the convience of the store. .. Even when it comes to finding the Natures spray..Everything that is popular and widely recommend for your dog or cat... This place has a very limited supply... You are best off taking the trip down to Hoboken or even out to local petco/petsmart.

Terrible experience!! Took my dog there today May 16, 2017 and it was my very first time! And the reception i received was terrible, unfriendly and with such an attitude in the faces of the two ladies employees at the entrance who told me that it was too late for the clinic!! They both saw my dog shaking and trembling and did not had a clue of perhaps this dog was just doing her best to be calmed. I understand that they close at 7pm and that I got there at 6:26pm But really!! I was expecting a bit more of sensitivity for my dog; who happens yo be turning one yr old today!I wouldnt recommend this location and to tell you the truth those two ladies didnt seem to care and were just waiting to go home!! Mind you that I was responding to a flier that my daughter was given and I was coming from the other side of the city; but anyway I hope someone talks to these ladies and coach them to be more sensitive and respectful to potential clients and dogs!!!My visit there today deserves no starts and I would not recommend it!!!

Forget about it these people all 4 of them are to lazy to do anything you hardly get help and its always the same 2 girls and groomer boy there they dont do a thing besides help sicken animals. I thought this place was shut down awhile agoI dont know how this pet shop is in businessMy friends lap dog died after getting groomed there and many more dogs have had the same issue her poor little thing Brook out in blisters or hives turned red got sick and passed in the coarse of a few days he didnt even make it to a week after getting sick he was only 7lbs cost her a lot of money to get her pur bread dog to the vet but it wasnt any help pitch was already infected the instant he was cut up I told her not to go there this place is dirty they dont take care of there animals. All the fish that I buy there die in a few days and all the animals are deathly sick only this store and no other store is nasty dirty check your pants for mini hitch hikers from all the imported sick animals . The food poisoned my pets and The poor birds in the window are so sick and stressed they plucked all there feathers out, there was 2 but one died from poor care and stress theyve stopped eating and the store owner doesnt care for poop.

Overpriced

This place looked like an animal torture chamber. The parrot in the front looked miserable sick, he had clearly been pulling out his feathers and was not given proper care. There was a white rabbit that was laying sprawled on its side panting and looking very sick, as well as a dead turtle that looked like it had been left in its tank unnoticed for days. Places like this shouldnt be allowed to sell live animals.

Walked in there to get a couple of parrot fishes, asked a the black Male in the back if he had a minute and he said no walked right out poor customer service unprofessional if he cant help customers willing to spend money he shouldnt be working there .

To expensive, and the bird food has worms not as clean as a pet shop should be with the food for the bird,fond out for yourself and see what you think of the it.
