Manager Needs to Work on his Management Skill ! Closes Isles and loads shelving with food at peak hours of the day.He refuses to let you down the Isle. Im a senior who cant accommodate him when he wants to load shelves and refrigeration at peak hours. I have trouble walking Can Not come back to the store when hes ready to accommodate customers.

Your typical neighborhood grocer owned by a higher corporation, but with the local feel where the cashiers get to know your face fairly quickly and will say hi. It could use some updating but other than that it’s always been clean with sufficient inventory for my needs. It’s a pleasure, not a hassle, to shop here.

Very good collection of groceries and other food items. They open up new counters as soon as they see queues getting longer than say 4-5 people. Overall a very good place. The prices are quite reasonable as well.

Fresh vegetables and fruits. They have best chocolate cakes along with ice cream cakes. Little more expensive, but love it.

Been shopping there for years but will not anymore. Unprofessional front end. Rude old Asian lady who works front end. Very nasty attitude and an unprofessional asset protection worker who works there also. Horrible experience. Would rather shop at Walmart. Stay clear from these small stores in the city area if you know what’s good for you!

Except indian grocery. You get all kinda foods here, the workers are too helpfull and food is slightly cheaper compared to other places.

Supermarket on Central Ave. Across from a Huge Park. Clean, lots of Soecials in store and on their App. Always Awesome staff Especially Barbara who always helps me and my Mom every Visit.

Good for a quick run. Friendly staff. Do watch out, though. On more than one occasion I have bought steakum with a good due date yet the meat was rancid. I let them know to pull it off the shelves and they have not. The same thing happened with breakfast style frozen meat. Idk of its from the delivery. However, being made aware and ignoring it speaks volumes on how much they care (or dont) about the safety of their customers

The shopping experience was good, however, youll have to wait in line to check out. Ive seen self checkout stalls in alot of shopping centers. This could save alot of time and energy.

Great place to shop. Their fruit/produce depth was great. I usually buymy salad bags in Trader Joes. Supermarkets have salad kits which I dont like. STOP& SHOP saved the day. I only go there occasionally and will stop in If Im passing thru the neighborhood. They have a lot to offer

The customer linda is lying mya was telling her to moved up and her husband gave mya an attitude, while they was walking up the lady turned around and started yelling at mya for no reason.. while they was out side she followed mya to her car and assaulted her. That lady is to grown to be lying on a Child… but over all I love stop and shop and I come here all the time, this store never gave me any problems..

I normally go to Supremo down the street, but I saw a lady throw a cup full of ice at a guy over a parking spot and then said guy kicked her car. 5 out 5.

It could use a good remodel for it being the only local supermarket and for it to be in this condition in a thriving area speaks loudly of corporate getting every penny can from neighborhood but wont bring store up to standards Im used to seeing at its other locations while being a longtime customer this store needs help 👍 employees helpful a courteous they deserve better working environment

Unfortunately i have to say tat majority of the staff are very rude and lack in customer service.(MYA) an employee at the stop and shop at central ave and franklin street is by far one of the rudest youngest employee at that store. (MYA) lacks in assisting customers and her choice of words talking to customers is very rude and arrogant. I had a very bad experience at this store and could not even complete my purchase. The manager (MIKE)on duty of the night shift on friday july 9th 2021 was on the same level she was. His lack of performance and professionalism approaching the situation was terms of dismissal. He disregarded our concerns and the fact we were trying to voice our concerns was neglected on every single protocol concerning customer assistance his arrogant behavior when he approached my husband and i was very rude and unprofessional. He disregarded my husbands concerns and told my husband in a rude way he preferred to talk to me instead. That further made the situation more frustrating and making us more uncomfortable causing us to walk out in full rage.When walking out the store. leaving the store i find myself with the employee (MYA) in the parking lot of stop and shop on central ave/Franklin st. She yelled out profanity and was sharing the situation with another customer who walked out with her. She then explained how she put her finger up at me while working in the store at me and how she was not beat to deal with anyones sh**!!She then attacked me. Leaving my husband no choice but to get in the center and separate her from my space she clearly violated.I will reach out to human resources /corporate concerning matter and hope that the resolution of the problem is terms of termination for MYA and Disciplinary action taken towards the manager (MIKE) on duty the day of this incident, on July 9th 2021.Wishing for a full on investigation on everyone in this store who lack in great customer assistance. Its a shame that i can not go in there to do my normal groceries as usual due to safety issues and lack of store protocol on handling and diffusing this situation. If no action will be taken i will definitely persue legal action.

Best part about this store is its a little bit smaller, so not an epic trip. Has a decent parking lot. Good selection of fresh produce although a little higher priced. Meat counter stands up pretty well. Limited selection of a large number of items. And I wish they would stop putting the ginger ale on the top shelf.

Shop here often. Its a good store. Most employees are nice. Just remember to check dates. I tend to check dates often because once I purchased a bag of pretzels and it was 2 months out dated. Another was a 12 pack of horizon chocolate milk and it was spoiled I checked and it was only 1 week away from experation date but it was curdled already. I went back to exchanges and that was the only one with a 1 week date left. The others had a few months out.

Its not a big suburban grocery store but it is a big enough city store. Youll find almost everything you need here. They lack a bakery or full service meat department but the meat section is well stocked as is the bread aisle. Im even surprised by how good the produce aisle is stocked throughout the year.Theyve got a lot of organic foods as well.

This grocery shop is a place for those who want to do groceries without much hassle in long lines queuing for payment. Always have a variety of goods to choose from. They got it all for you! Highly recommended!

This adorable, small old-timey Stop & Shop grabs your heart the minute you walk in the door. The fruits and vegetables are just piled so high full of all sorts of choices: organics, exotic fruits and vegetables, I even found fresh fennel, Napa Cabbage, French green beans, beautiful asparagus, organic lettuces, everything was gorgeous. As a retired chef, I can be hard to please. I found French Triple Creme, great tenderloin steaks, frozen shrimp on sale 1/2 price, organic eggs, Natures Promise Organic milk and uncured bacon all at fair prices. They had just about everything packed inside this place, even a few plants and a tiny corner with OTC meds and a little cubby with Italian bread from Brooklyn Bakery. The manager and the cashier were so nice, it was my first time there and I asked the cashier Ivan if I had to have a Stop & Shop card to get the sale, and he said yes but this time Ill take care of you, you can get it next time when you come. Ill be back even though there are lots of other choices around in Jersey City, this place made me feel like I was HOME even though I am new in town. Chef Eileen

Convenient location for a quick stop shop. Not a lot of options if you meant to look for variety, but for necessities, its good. Just wish the parking lot was bigger to accommodate more cars. You do have to wait to get a spot when its a busy time.

People work hard here. They care but they themselves seem downtrodden. Grocery stores are so competative I am sympathetic but I usually enjoy my shopping elsewherw better. Kinda like the non-perfect but totally fine fruit bin.

The staff here are always very friendly and I know that they do their best to stay stocked during this tough time. The veggies are always very fresh. I was upset to realize that one item I bought on the shelves had expired back in February but I realize I should have double checked that myself and not just assumed that the store would be able to check every single item they have. Other than that, Ive never had a bad experience here.

Customer Service is poor. One specific worker by the name of Mya was very rude and unprofessional. She mentioned that she had no patience in front of me the customer. If you work in a supermarket you should have patience. She made a scene for no reason, just because she got frustrated from a coupon that wasnt working and threw it on counter.. again very unprofessional. There were a few other workers there too who were rude, so my experience was really bad.

Small neighborhood store with a very small parking lot in a busy shopping district.

Most of the time, my experience is fair. Though, very often, both lanes in produce aisle gets completely blocked by stock carts. It seems like they restock all of the time, which is ironic because a lot of the produce isnt that fresh. On more than one occasion, I got spoiled shrink wrapped meat. Namely beef (different steak cuts) and lamb shanks. There is no way to tell if its spoiled without opening it. Since COVID, I was told that Stop & Shop wont accept returns. So theres money down the drain. I feel like the more expensive items dont get much turnaround. I dont buy their brands ground beef anymore because I almost always find bone shards in it. Otherwise, I find staff to be friendly and helpful. I would like to see some improvement because it is the nearest supermarket to me.

Workers were all very nice! Selection was of course low because of the pandemic and the store being walking distance for the customers. So the whole neighborhood goes there. Bathrooms were out of service for our safety and for there staff. So very understandable. Like I said go there every so often and all the workers want is respect. They have been working so hard to put food on our tables. The least we can do is not stress them out. Thank you for being on the front lines during this hard time and staying strong.

This is a great store for all products.it provide a good quality products. Everything is there, Whatever we need. Some time there is a discount on specific items a lower price or buy one get one free so people may get a cheaper products.

Not family friendly. They wont let kids or any customer use the bathrooms anymore. Apparently due to covid customers can no longer wash their hands or go to the bathroom.

This S&S is in a densely populated part of Jersey. Accordingly, its packed to the gills with merchandise, and, having a smaller area compared to its neighbour shops in malls throughout NJ, its sometimes difficult to navigate through the narrow, crowded aisles. (Taking a shopping cart is NOT recommended when you come here. Use a basket instead.)Conversely, you CAN always find what youre shopping for, and the sales staff is among the friendliest and most helpful Ive ever met in my entire LIFE. They know it can be an ordeal getting through the store, so they endeavor to make your trip as pleasant as they can.Thus, this is not a negative review by any means. One thing people would not know is that for rest room, one has to go straight all out of back gate and go upstairs. It also has flower bouquets and bunches. Its also popular for lottery. Its popular for buying bitcoins too. Its poultry and sea food section is also very nice
