I did a take out order of catfish today. Everything was yummy and plentiful. Best restaurant in town! Dont tell anybody tho. Its way too busy already.

Such delicious and high-quality food for such an unassuming place. If I’m ever passing through this area again I will definitely be stopping here. The pork chops were delicious, the chicken dumpling soup was delicious, the Buffalo chicken wrap was delicious and the staff was very nice.

Didnt get all of order, several items missing. Used to love taking Mom here, but their food and service is really going down hill!Hope the next visit will be better or well have to find another place to frequent! And that will be sad!!

First time ever here as I was invited to have breakfast.Ever hear the phrase, Dont judge a book by its cover? Well, I had judged this joint incorrectly!The cafe was jammed-packed and for good reason!I ordered the (country) ham breakfast. For the price, the served portion of ham was huge! The meal had eggs, hashbrowns or cottage fries, and toast, or pancakes! It was cooked nicely, and again the plate was more than I could eat. The price was very reasonable - far less than mainstream breakfast places that immediately come to mind!I will definitely return soon!

Me and my family waited 30 minutes before our order was taken. Extremely rude waitresses, one of them snapped at my mother for asking for pancake syrup. A different waitress actually got her nose an inch away from our soft drinks to smell them because she forgot who ordered what drink and what they were.

Ate here for the first time on March 14 for breakfast and was not disappointed. There were 12 of us and they were pretty busy at the time. The service was great. The food came out timely and the drinks were kept full. The portions are big so bring your appetite (had to get a couple boxes to take home). Everyones food was delicious and hot. We had everything from - omelettes (try the Joplin omelette), pancakes, french toast, biscuits and gravy and even a double bacon cheeseburger. Would definitely recommend.
Great restaurant, in fact, my favorite for good Ole american food. Prices are pretty good, the service is excellent. If you leave their hungry Ill be shocked stunned and amazed. They have the best chicken fried steak!

Not anything special about the setting, just has an ol time café feel to it - like a mom & pop restaurant. The cost of meals are quite reasonable. Not only is pricing fair, but the portions are huge. I typically have to take 1/2 of my meal home with me to eat at a layer point in time. I have not tried any menu item yet that I havent enjoyed (I have been known to be a picky eater).Breakfast is served all day & they offer lunch & dinner meals as well. A little bit of everything is offered from heavy, stick to your bones meals all the way to light meals such as soup & salads The service is quick & the waitresses are very quick with their services as well. They keep on top of drink refills and anything else that a customer may need. I usually get refilled before I have the opportunity to ask for anything.To sum everything all up:- cost of meals are reasonable- portions are large- food is delicious- all day breakfat. Lunch/dinner menu also- variety in types of meals- great serviceI really love to patron this restaurant.
We visited on Labor day, and much to my surprise they were open! I have heard great things about Joplin Cafe and have been meaning to stop in for breakfast. I ordered the Manco which came with 2 eggs, 2 pancakes and 2 sausage links. I requested my eggs to be made over easy and they were cooked to perfection. The pancakes were large, but not as fluffy to my liking. The sausage links were not the ones with the casing and I would have preferred to have sausage links with the casing for a home style breakfast place like this one. My son ordered the French Toast kids meal. Initially he wanted pancakes, but since i was getting some, my plan was to swap one of my pancakes for his french toast, but before I could make the swap, he ate the French toast! The service was excellent from the wait staff to the lady clearing the tables. Food was prepared well and in reasonable time. Prices were also affordable and I will definitely go back!

I do not recommend. Lot of inexpensive food, poor tasting white gravy, poor service. Waitress got my order wrong, failed to apologize for it, made a face when I advised her I would like to have what I ordered. Sad to say service there has gone downhill. Also, when the hostess asked was everything ok, I said no and she obviously didnt hear me or didnt care.

Best homemade food in Joplin. Ive been a long time Granny Shafers fan but a friend told me to try Joplin Cafe. Portions are huge and staff was very friendly. Prices are around the same as other restaurants. Definitely worth trying!

You get the feeling this place is going to serve good old fashioned made from scratch home cooking when you look at the menu and see what they offer. However, after several visits, Ive been disappointed after ordering what i thought would be good old home cooking only to receive food imposters that have been taken out of a frozen package and taste like theyve been served straight from the microwave. The breakfast is better than the lunch and dinner choices but if you are wanting to sit and eat food like momma used to make then you will want to look elsewhere

Lets start with the warm greetings, good cup of Joe, their country fried steak, with omelette, hash browns, chili, pancakes and the country skilet with eggs, hash browns mix with bacon, ham, veggies and all that good stuff, plus pancakes. Did I say a refill of good cup of Joe and excellent service? They are open M-F 6am to 2000, Sun 6 to 1500. For those truckers in the area its a good place to stop by.

My top10 place to eat in Joplin. Huge variety of selection. Has breakfast, lunch and dinner possiblity all the time, all day. Love to try something new. There are amazing meals that I am sure its been a while since youve had it. The fish sandwich is my favorite.( I chose with mayo over tartar.) Lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Price is great. Honestly. Three way to pick sides. Plain, regular, or deluxe. My way is deluxe. Thats with a appetizer.
