I wish I could give zero stars! Im a long time ADT customer. Both residential and commercial. This was my first time dealing with Defenders. Never knew that when you called ADT for an install, sometimes they sub out the actual installation to a third party. In this case it was Defenders. The installation dragged on for days and I was beginning to wonder if our security system would ever be fully functional. Eventually I ended up having them remove all their cameras because they simply couldnt get them working properly. After that, weve had other technical problems and several billing problems that still persist almost 2 months later! Ive reached out to ADT directly but have been told that their hands are tied. There is a 90 day period after install that the installation company, in this case Defenders, is responsible for all support. So basically, youre stuck dealing with Defenders for the first 90 days no matter what. Defenders is one of the worst companies Ive ever dealt with. Most of the technicians are useless for anything beyond basic system installation. Most of the customer service people Ive spoken to are useless for trying to resolve issues. And their Permits department is obviously a phantom department because Ive called them 5 times and never reached anything but a voicemail, and they have never returned my calls. Interestingly, even their own customer service people cant get through to the Permits department. I know because theyve tried while Im on the line.As I said, Ive had multiple accounts with ADT over the years and never had the headaches I do now. My advice? If you call ADT for an install, make sure the guy shows up in an actual ADT truck. If not, hes NOT really ADT. Send him back. DO NOT let him do your install.UPDATE: Tried emailing Defenders as requested but the email address given below was undeliverable.

DO NOT GO WITH ADT!! I have made this mistake twice now, first they lied about the pricing. Then when you call in for support what they fail to tell you is they charge you for every support call even if you purchase the support package, and then when you complain to the Support Tech and tell them you want to cancel they will just transfer you right to the cancellation Department because they dont care. I was told they had two packages of $15 one and a pulse $45 one which isnt true there is no $15 package. The biggest issue is that they lock you in to a four-year contract but dont tell you its a four-year contract the salesperson told me I can cancel anytime but thats not true because I was locked into a contract so now I have a useless system that Im not paying for tech support that I already pay monthly for but that doesnt cover service. Do yourself a favor go somewhere else!

If I could leave less than a 1 star I would. We have only had our system for 8 days. All of a sudden a loud steady beep happens and theres a trouble code. We run to make sure no alarm goes off. We call and long story short we wanted out of the contract and stated we only had 3 business days to call and get cancel with no charge . But it would be close to 1300$ to buy ourselves out. How ridiculous.

We have been loyal customers to ADT since 2014 but the monthly cost of service is almost $80. We shopped around and found simplisafe was 1/3 of the price with more coverage. Adt is extremely hard to cancel with an additional month payment just to go so. Its punishment to cancel and they will squeeze you for eveyvlast dime they can. So run dont walk and go elsewhere as these people are very hard to get out of your life.

12 long hours to install expensive 6 contact sensors, color touch panel and video doorbell.Cancelled promptly during the required time. Offered massive discounts to deter me from canceling. Still waiting for them to retrieve their equipment. Installer was pleasant.

Technician was very nice and thorough. I just didnt like the fact that I had to pay for some of the sensors to properly secure my house. But the technician did everything very efficiently.

Our installer was great and very personable. I didnt have questions at the time but of course have a few now but he did good be us his number for any questions. I would highly recommend him.

Previous owner of my house had ADT. I went with a less expensive company.E very where I look are boxes saying ADT. That is bad enough,BUT an alarm goes off at random intervals (ding,ding,ding) relentlessly. have to get up and push a button to shut it off. Have asked ADT to remove their equipment. THEY REFUSE. Will only send out a tech to set it up. Im 73 years and not well. They want me to climb on ladders to remove batteries ..SHAME ON THEM.

Horrible experience. Technician worked out of his trunk. Didnt install the equipment they promised. Was supposed to come back to install cameras. Now they deny they were part of the deal. Part of Defenders national Corp. Stay way from these guys. Spend your money with a local company.

CJ was extremely knowledgeable about the products adt offered, the best way to implement them, and only made suggestions to me about protecting my home, but wasnt trying to push anything on me and allowed me to make all final decisions... hes definitely coming to the next cookout!!

The technician was on time; he was good to explain things to us; gave us his phone number and told us to call him if we needed to and we did have trouble downloading the app to a smartphone after he left so we call and he was very helpful in helping us with the problem.

I signed up for two years and now they insist it’s three.I’m having trouble with one of my zones that sometimes beeps when the door is opened and sometimes it doesn’t and if someone comes comes out and it beeps I will get charged for a service call. Pretty bad customer service for a company that claims to care about people!
