Every time I have had to find a specific lighting item, I end up back here. I make all the rounds to local stores that have home decorator departments, hardware stores with lighting & other speciality lighting retailers. After doing my appropriate due diligence, I find what I am looking for at a reasonable price at Valley Isle Lighting Co. Next time I will skip all the due diligence efforts and just take care of business because I know I am going to end up there anyway! Perhaps my efforts may help others save their time and money as well.

Overpriced and disingenuous sales staff pushing what they have over what you may really want. Dont have much of what is on display and this is misleading.

Driving to the Valley Isle Lighting Company we had no higher expectations than an overstuffed boutique staffed by a disinterested high schooler with one stock reply...“let me take your number and have the owner call you...”It couldn’t have been more different.First, to make it good with all high schoolers working part-time in retail, none of you were in evidence. Instead, two or three fresh energetic faces fielding calls were, but over there to the right, his gaze deep in some catalog, answering a customer’s call, was Erik, the store owner.We took our turn, asked our questions as best we knew how and were rewarded by a huge grin. In a few moments he led us back into the stockroom, opening boxes while opening us up to alternatives.The world of residential lighting isn’t particularly arcane: it’s been brought to life by online calculators, plentiful product data and hundreds of new products fueled by new lighting technologies. But that isn’t to say, you don’t still need an actual human being to help you confirm you’re on the right track.Erik was attentive and responsive to our questions. Having put in a nickel, we got a quarter back. He has a personal penchant for what we came in for - contemporary stuff- and at least half the showroom reflects it.He quickly connected with what we didn’t yet know and led us round from this display to that catalogue, to this idea we hadn’t considered. In twenty minutes our heads were reeling.Sure you can find a gold-plated monkey raising it’s backside to a conical lampshade that 9 out of 10 Granny’s will find irresistible.But by the time you go there, Erik will have that sold too.The Valley Isle Lighting Company is raising the bar for residential lighting sales and service.When the time comes to ditch Pinterest and get on with it, start here.

I had broken a fancy glass bell light cover and these guys saved me. Friendly staff. They sell upscale light fixtures as far as i could tell by looking in the showroom.
