Dylan did an excellent job getting my set up squared away. I had a somewhat complex issue; it would have been very easy to fix it superficially then run out the door. Instead, he showed patience and knowledge to get to the root of the issue.Note - they do sell hardware but it is significantly marked up (which is fair considering that they can set it up for you right away). If you are willing to wait, I suggest checking out Amazon because you will definitely get a better price….

Took my mid2012 MacBook Pro to these guys as a last resort when I thought I bricked it trying to change the battery. I was expecting to have to buy a new computer, but they diagnosed and fixed my problem for about 1/10 the cost of a new one. I have a laptop that I only use when I travel and over the years it has gotten sluggish and problematic. I always managed to work around the issues it had and tolerate the bad performance. I was getting ready for a trip and I always get out my laptop early to get all the updates, make sure it will start, etc. This time it did not come on, no worry, I have seen this before and have managed to it to going … but not this time. It was not stone dead but had a “system” issue.First let me say personal computers have been part of my life for about 35 years and I have never taken a computer to a repair shop, but I knew I did not have what I need to trouble shoot my laptop.After a quick Google search, I found NerdsToGo Computer Service near me and went there right away. When I arrived, the shop was in full COVID-19 mode with a phone number to call on the door. We chatted on the phone and I was told what they needed and how to get my computer from my hands into their hands.About two hours later I received a text with a diagnosis and a course of action and the cost. We had already discussed the possibility of it being too costly to warrant a repair. The problem was a failing hard drive, the solution was to replace the hard drive with a two-terabyte solid state hard drive. The cost was reasonable and then I told them to make the repair. I purchased a new computer and was not comfortable transferring my data from the old to the new. I brought both to Nerds to Go on Kingsland and they did an outstanding job making the transfer. They also prepared the old for trade-in. The whole process took about a day & a half and I was given the pricing up front. In addition the whole process was of a non-contact nature. Had Dylan come out and troubleshoot my WiFi network in our house. He was able to identify the problem and give me an immediate solution and then can be done in a second phase to help boost the performance and maximize the speeds and coverage inside and outside the house. Nerds to Go duplicated my hard drive to a ssd then replaced the old hard drive with the new one. I went from a 10-15 minute boot up to less than 30 seconds! And they added extra USB ports to support more connections making my old dinosaur of a computer to a young, spry chicken again. All for a very reasonable price. In a month, not waiting on the boot time made the cost break even. I cant be happier! I love using Nerds to Go!

I took my laptop to be repaired because it had black screened. I received a report on the issues a couple days later and a quote for repair. I needed a new motherboard and battery. I felt the quoted price was fair and a lot less than buying a new computer. The service was very professional and my computer has been working like a charm since I picked it back up. My laptop began booting directly into BIOS and I had no idea why. I couldnt get it to follow the boot order and I was way out of my element. I took the unit in with an external drive to back up my stuff in case it was done. Tony greeted me immediately with a welcoming, friendly smile. He inquired and I told him my experience. So my son got a new gaming computer. Or new to him. It was refurbished which I was assured was a good choice. Within two weeks the hard drive just completely died. I was completely out of my element. I just so happened to call nerds to go because we were in the middle of quarantine and I needed help. They pretty much diagnosed the problem over the phone. I did a drop off on Friday and they had it back to me on Monday with a complete explanation of what happened and what they did yo fix it. Nerds To Go diagnosed an expensive problem with my Apple MacBook Pro that was a recall issue in late 2016. They provided me the information to speak with Apple about and I was then able to get my issue repaired by Apple at no cost. Prior to the NerdsToGo diagnosis, the Apple repair would have been a $550 repair vs the $60 (approx) diagnostic fee. Greatly appreciate NerdsToGo! Highly recommend!

My Windows 10 laptop began giving an error message instead of doing the urgent Windows Update I was expecting - very concerning! Would like to share a very positive experience with Tony of Nerds to Go on Kingsland in Katy. He checked out a monitor for me and found it to be “dead”. Did not try to sell me a new one even though he had one, but did suggest a place I might go that was having a sale. Very warm, courteous and helpful. I give the business an A+ and will use them again.

Tony and his team of nerds are a great connection to have. We do so much from home and we have the IoT (Internet of Things) so as our homes get smarter with Alexa, smart TVs and other smart devices and we continually depend on working from home, we need to have a connection with a provider that can help us when we call, assist remotely and drop by when we need it. We thought we had a virus on our computer and THOUGHT we had HP tech support clean it all up. Computer still wasn’t working right. I suspected a fan was going bad on my Alienware 17 laptop as it started making a hideous grinding noise. The nerds at Nerds to Go were anything but. Jennifer was the first person I spoke with. She told me upfront about the diagnostic charge and how, since were in the middle of a pandemic, it would be a non-contact transaction. I dropped my laptop off in the morning and Rafael texted me back stating that the fans were indeed failing and needed to be replaced. the repairs were not prohibitively expensive so I asked them to proceed.
