Sue makes the most incredible nap mats! We have had ours for 5+ years and have washed it 100 times. It still looks new! Sue has also done all of our alterations over the years...she is truly phenomenal.
I have ordered infant blankets, bedding and curtains. Also, I have ordered masks and quilts. The product is well constructed and of high quality. The service is always excellent. I have recommended this business to many individuals!
I have gone to Made by Sue for so many things. She has made numerous personalized baby gifts for me and altered several pieces of clothing. Sue is professional and attentive to detail.
Great place! I needed an indian top altered last minute and the ladies at this place made it happen so fast. The top was altered amazingly and fitted so well. GREAT PLACE for all your alteration needs!
Had some scrub tops embroidered. Very pleased with the work, price was right. Will definitely return.
Came in with a hockey jersey and 3 patches to be sewn on to the sleeves and front, respectively. Fair price and decent turnaround time, and 2/3 patches were done correctly, but the one on the front looked just awful (see picture). Not straight, fabric was bunched up behind the patch, and overall misaligned.Giving 2 stars for the patches on the sleeves, but I can’t believe anyone there let such shoddy work leave the shop. Disappointing. Got it fixed at another shop that got it right (actually measured to ensure it was straight and level) and back in the same day.
Highly recommend. Made by Sue fixed the poor quality alterations from other tailors on my suit pants and would never go to another tailor. Easy to communicate with, great price, and fast turnaround.
Sue is absolutely amazing! I had ordered a dress for my 6th graders formal dance. It arrived 2 days before the dance and we knew instantly it needed to be altered. Sue was able to make the alterations in less than an hour. She knew I was in a bind and she saved us! Amazing service! Also, a wonderful assortment of baby items! Bedding, clothing, burp cloths, nap mats, pillowcases.... Moms, go check out Sue’s store... you won’t be disappointed!
Love everything in her shop and her talents are endless!!
The turn around time is VERY long for mediocre work. I try to support local small businesses but recommend looking elsewhere for your embroidery needs.
As a Postpartum Doula and Newborn care specialist I find that Sue is my new go to when it comes to gifts for my clients. Her blankets, taggies, sleeping bags and cut bloomers are good quality and cute designs. Life time gifts for my little ones. She embroiders names and dates which adds a special touch.Oh and she is now making masks !
There isnt a nicer and more professional lady and her employees she does excellent work!
Would it be possible for you to start making fabric face masks. I cannot find any for sale locally. I ordered a mask online from a company in CA and it will take weeks to receive it.
After I had a bad experience at David’s Bridal with wasted time and alterations that were not right, I decided I needed a second opinion on my wedding dress. I was referred to Made By Sue and my experience was so great.Sue listened to my complaints about what happened at David’s Bridal and what I wanted to do to make my dress fit me better. She immediately made me feel relaxed and confident that she could fix my dress. I felt I finally got a consultation and valued her suggestions that she felt would make the dress lay right and fit better all over. After she pinned everything up and told me the price for alterations, I was blown away by how fair she was. I had gone to a few other tailors and their prices were unreasonable (in my eyes), especially because I had already paid so much for alterations at David’s Bridal.Four days later I got a call that my dress was ready. I went to the shop for my appointment and left the with my head held high and ready to get married. I wanted to hug Sue I was so happy. She exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend her shop for any alterations.
I always recommend Made By Sue . Ive been a customer for nearly 15 years and have always been satisfied with each transaction. I take all my alterations and monogramming to Sue. She always has a great selection of gifts, especially for babies.
Sue came very highly recommended to me by a very good friend who also had her wedding dress altered there. Today was my initial fitting, and Sue was so helpful and engaged, I felt I needed to leave a great review even before I get the dress, especially with some of the other reviews left...Im a half size, so dresses are challenging for me, let alone one as important as my wedding gown. Sue worked with me and discussed the options I was wanting, i.e. a corset back to ensure a perfect fit. She was also happy to incorporate a colored sash as the lacing for the corset to give me a splash of color that matches my maid of honors dress. I was also very happy that she agreed my train is light enough for a single bustle point. The price I was quoted is extremely fair for the work I know is involved with what she will be doing.Ill update when I receive the gown (quoted at 2 weeks, giving us plenty of time to make any changes before the wedding date). Stay tuned!
Just frustrated. Brought two jackets in for patches to be sewn on. Was told that it would 2 weeks max. On week 3, I called to reach out on status to be told it would be another week maybe 2. Communication would be great since the jackets will be used for pictures this week. Now, I am left to reschedule pictures or find another person to sew patches. Customer service was great in store, and understand busy seasons, just communication would have be appreciated.
I believe this place does decent work, but needs help with communication and time management. Went in for a few patches to be put on a letterman jacket. Called almost a month after bringing the jacket in, was told they could give it to me tomorrow. When I went the next day, Made by Sue told me they only had 3/4 of the patches on and they needed 30 more minutes. If it took 30 minutes to put on 1/4 of the patches it should have been done in no more than a week. Would not recommend this place to anyone in a hurry to get a job done. Happy with my jacket, but will never turn here again.
I went to Made by Sue to get my dress altered for a wedding. I informed her that my zipper doesnt seem to go up and I didnt want to rip the dress. Sue ends up forcing the zipper to go up and RIPPING it. She states the dress was defective and that I needed to return the dress, not holding any accountability for ripping the dress. She gave me a quote to fix the dress, which was the same price as the dress. I went to a tailor down the street Lees Tailor that offered to fix it for half the price she quoted. I do not recommend to come here because although the zipper was defective, she ripped my dress- something I could have done myself and but tried to prevent. This forced me to reset and purchase a whole new zipper at a different tailor for a lesser and more valuable price.
Sue has always done an amazing job, the most recent being my daughters wedding dress. She knew exactly what to do just looking at it and the results were great and the cost much less than we expected. 😀
Sweet Sue is the best!
Long story short...she asked me to find pillow inserts for pillows I needed re stuffed. I found the inserts and brought them to her and she resttuffed my pillows for a nominal fee! And she did a great job! Would recommend her and will use her again!
We were referred to MBS by another friend, and now for almost 3 years she has been our go to for many projects! We have always experienced courteous & knowledgeable service from Sue and her entire staff, and never a complaint on promise times for our drop offs. The ready made offerings in her shop make for both the well planned, and also the last minute gifts! Every Baseball season we have my son’s pants hemmed into the knicker style, and can say they ALWAYS are meticulously stitched, and never have we experienced crooked, rushed or any kind of poor workmanship. In reading the other reviews here, it seems the people leaving them are unreasonable folk, who were either in a hurry because of their own poor planning, or went into their project with unrealistic expectations. We will continue to support this thriving local merchant for all of our needs that her business encompasses. Thanks for staying true to who you are Sue!
I highly recommend!! What a find! They do amazing work, quick turnaround and at an affordable price. Very hard to find anymore.
Rude customer service. Do not recommend. Unwilling to assist with hem on military uniform. Did not care.
Warning! This person WILL overcharge you!!! Thought it would be okay to bill $10 to sew on a small patch half-inch in diameter. Very disappointing to be cheated. Work quality was merely adequate. No customer service skills. Will never go back.
Lady was nice and apologetic but I was given a date and it was totally disregarded. Excuses were made by the people but if you give someone a date, stick by it. This was supposed to be gifts to my parents for my wedding but I guess thats not happening now. I am highly disappointed and will not be back. Also, based on your reply, you dont know the date that was given, which was the 29th of November. I called on the 30th of November to see if they were ready and I was told that they would not be ready until the 12th of December. I do not have any questions so your number was definitely not needed.
AwfulTerrible experienceMy husband called and asked if I can come in to alter 2 dresses since it was already after 5They said it was okI got in and this old lady said that their dressing room closes at 5 !!!After my husband just called them to ask if it was ok!!!I’m surprise they have businessI shoulda follow my instincts after I read the reviewsTerribleThat’s what I get for trying to go local !!!
Absolutely recommend! Sue was easy to work with, came up with a great outside the box solution for my too-small bridesmaid dress, and had the work done in a day and a half for a very fair price.
I was told when I dropped off that they could blind stitch hem, but they cannot! They straight stitched the hems, something that I could have done myself on my machine at home. It was a waste of money on my part. The basic sewing they did was okay.
Great service, polite, and have yet to have any problems with their work.
RUDE and overpriced for average quality of work
I needed my suit jacket sleeves shortened and guess what? I was told that Made by Sue couldnt handle it because It would take too long. aka go someplace else. One less incompetent junk shop business I have to deal with. Incompetent reply from Susie.
Very kind, and great work!
