I booked the Cape Porpoise Tour for my family of 4. The man on the phone convinced me that this was a lovey way to see the beautiful sights of the coast. He said it was a 3 hour tour and that snacks would be provided in a picnic style on the island.I was disappointed when it took almost a half hour to get to the launch site, and unload the kayaks. This should not be time that the customer pays for. In addition, there were no snacks. Our guide, Andy, brought the food with him but did not put it out for us.Also Andy wanted return to an hour before the 3 hours were up. I asked if we could stay out on the water longer. Only because I asked, we stayed out only another half hour. So we ended the tour a half hour early.Which means..... THE 3 HOUR TOUR WAS REALLY ONLY 2 HOURS AND DID NOT INCLUDE SNACKS!!!!If I would have known this, I definitely would not have paid extra to take a tour. I feel I was ripped off!

We were on the Cape Porpoise Light House Tour on Tuesday July 6th. I was trying to book this a few days before we left and Ross was incredibly helpful. Our tour guides were Theresa and Michael and both were outstanding! The weather was not great because it was overcast and drizzly but that did not put a damper on our trip at all. We kayaked at a nice pace in the harbor with lovely views. We went on Goat Island and were able to go in the lighthouse. Theresa had brought delicious healthy snacks that we enjoyed on the island. Both guides were helpful and enthusiastic and Theresa had very interesting stories about Maine. I would highly recommend this kayak trip we loved it!

This was the worst tour we have ever taken. We booked the river tour, and it was my husband and I and another couple who had all kayaked before, and a family with two small children who had never kayaked. The guide was 45 minutes late, and the young man in the office who was very nice finally said let me call her to see if she is coming. We had been told to arrive no later than 8:30 for a 9 am launch, and she didn’t show up until 9:45. There was no instruction for the family because the guide did not have the patience to help them. She just kept yelling at them. My husband helped the father, and the guide ended up towing the mother. We always take kayak tours in water we are unfamiliar with as we expect the guide to explain where not to go, interesting things along the way, etc. she suggested we paddle to the estuary which would have been extremely nice, however, she had no clue about the tides and when we reached one section, we all bottomed out. Not a big deal, we got out and went into deeper water. The guide however would not get out because she was towing the mother and child, and said we needed to head back. She then said people got upset with her all the time because of the tides, but it wasn’t her fault because she couldn’t control them. Obviously this has happened before. If you knew the tides were low, why take us that way knowing it was only 4 inches deep in sections? I’m sure people aren’t upset about the tides, they are upset about your lack of guidance on an extremely busy river. So we headed back and we were back at the launch an hour after we left. So out three hour tour that she was 45 minutes late to, and ended an hour early because she could not handle beginners on her tour, ended up to be a one hour tour. At $170.00 per couple this was absolutely the worst tour company we’ve ever dealt with, and the biggest rip off ever. We could have rented a kayak at the hotel for $30 but we enjoy tours and listening to stories about the area. NEVER will I do business with this company again. We visited the week before Labor Day.

Fantastic folks! I arrived in town with a flat bike tire, hopeful that I’d find someplace to have it fixed. Zoe, Russell and Al were friendly and helpful and had the tube replaced in less than an hour. The price was reasonable but more importantly, the service was excellent. Thank you!

We took a private Kayak tour of Cape Porpoise Harbor, today: with 4 adults and 2 children ages 7 and 12. Quite frankly, we didnt know what to expect. Would the kids make it or peter our after 30 minutes? Would the experience be educational as well as fun? Turned out the outing exceeded our expectations. From the moment we checked in, to our launch in the water and return to shore, the well tuned staff couldnt have been better. Our guide, Mike, was terrific. He seemed to know exactly how much we all could do, and he was spot on in judging routes and where/when to stop. Would we do it again? Yes, in a heartbeat. Well worth a visit and the price of admission!!! Thank you all for a great day.

It was really enjoyable to see the workers dance to the music as I was waiting to go out for the tour! All of the workers were super friendly and I can’t wait to return next year!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff for bike rental. Dont worry that they may not pick up their phone. They suggested a great path for our mixed youthful-old fart group. Good rates.

Great way to see the river and some of the ocean. I would recommend doing the half day (3 hours) if your looking to have arms when your done. Rates are reasonable and staff is very helpful.

The man who helped us with our bikes, Michael, was so friendly and helpful. He helped us plan out our routes and took the time to talk to us about bike gears (neither my husband nor I had been on a bike in a while 😊). The prices are fairly decent, $10/hr or $35/day, and worth it for the scenes around the coast!

Our guide was so good. We did the lighthouse tour with Justin. LOVED it. We got a little picnic on an island, saw jellyfish, and the harbor was like glass. Highly recommend.
