They have pelmeni. I was lucky enough to get the last few bags before selling out. Only place in hundreds of miles where Ive found pelmeni. Without pelmeni, I move back to NYC, its as simple as that.

This place is extremely overpriced and unkempt. The owner is nice, but it doesnt make up for the cost. If there is another Russian/eastern Euro place, please let me know.

I love this place! The owner is friendly and helpful. The focus is primarily on foods from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania etc. and they sell some absolutely fantastic cheeses and sausages, which they will slice for you (having allowed you to taste first!). They also sell some great rye breads. I often choose the selection of German pastas (i.e. Spaetzle) which I have never seen on sale anywhere else in this area. Highly recommended.

Ive had first discrimination experience in my 21 years life in this store!! I shocked because there are still some people like that in the world!! Today, I went with my family this store because we would like to buy and find some Turkish foods. There was an old lady in the store. I explained three times we are looking for from Turkey foods but not chicken one, the country foods which is from the mixed country in between Eastern Europe and Middle East! She was very rude and very angry and she said that What do you want? Some Turkey foods? Follow me then. I followed her because I thought that she will show me some traditional food but she showed me turkey-chicken foods! And she said there you go, take it Turkey/turkey. Im very sorry and Ive cried for couple hours, why people so hateful to innocent people because of just their ethnicity?

I was born in Ukraine and when I moved to New Orleans two years ago for graduate school I resigned myself to only occasionally eating the food I grew up with when I visited my parents. Thankfully a class mate told me about this place and now I can get most of what I crave whenever I want. This store has an excellent selection of Eastern European foods - for anyone that grew up with a polish/Russian deli theyll find their favorites and for anyone that wants to try something new you can find some great stuff here. I recommend picking up some herring, picked tomatoes and pickled mushrooms. The store is hard to find - its behind the Taco Bell (in the back of the closed Rite Aid) if youre going down Williams Boulevard but its worth visiting. The owner Leon was incredibly nice. I cant wait to return for all my future specialty needs!

I tried 3 separate times in the last 3 years, each time at hours when they advertised that they were open. They were closed for emergency each time. I guess they just dont want customers, or maybe theyve been out of business, but still kept the building, the website, and the signs outside for no good reason.

We call this store Russian store for short. The thing is that in America it is a country where the bulk of people are immigrants from many countries and continents. Everyone once had a tradition to lead their own way of life and eat in their own way. And when an immigrant is deprived of the most important component of his life (the chemical composition of food, and therefore blood, it is then that the immigrant can feel uncomfortable - with a lack of chemical elements of the area in the body. It is in this matter that the store helps - there is a large selection of food - seeds, sausage Doktorskaya, Moskovskaya. Before the sausage there is Korean carrots and tomatoes in the marinade. There is also condensed milk and gingerbread. There were no dumplings this time - we were on April 24. The service is excellent and everything is fine.
