Saw this place on Tripple D a few years ago and always wanted to go. The food was excellent. Giant portions. Definitely worth the money. Cant wait to go again. We drove an hour just to enjoy. So happy we did. We had the garbage plates with pancakes. There was enough left over to feed the kids for lunch. You will not leave disappointed.
Its a landmark, local fan favorite, popular TV destination. I figured the wait would be long, it was a beautiful Sunday morning. I was not wrong. We opted for outdoor seating and I am glad. The fella that waited on us had a personality befitting a man of his stature. He entertained us while we ordered and waited on our food.I had half a Garbage Plate while the other two had French toast. Our server even comped us some cinnamon rolls lathered in sugar goodness due to our wait.Memorable, delicious and worth the calories.
Franks has the BEST BREAKFAST IN KENOSHA HANDS DOWN!! Their signature garbage plates are great and fulfilling. Its REALLY tight, narrow and small in their but adds to the original decor. Downtown kenosha WisconsinEnjoying a wonderful and delicious breakfast after working 3rd shift @franksdinerkenosha !Happy #fridayeve #POLARIZED#match1session_ent
I came here this morning to have a quite birthday breakfast to myself and may I say the French toasts potatoes and omelette was 10⭐️ hands down! As I was warping it up I told them I would like to pay for my breakfast and the 2 lovely best cooks in Kenosha LAND TOLD ME IT WAS PAID FOR❤️❤️🎊 told them it was my birthday and thank you guys so much for enjoyable breakfast I really appreciated that from the bottom ❤️💪🏿 to the 2 lovely cooks I’m so sorry for not getting your names but you guys are the best💯🥳💪🏿❤️
Cute little place that has amazing food! Make sure you get toast! Home made bread. Delicious
What can I say that hasnt already been said? This place is a piece of Americana. The staff was super Midwest friendly. It was a hot day and our server made sure people waiting had ice water and put out benches in the shade. There is a wait- hey its a small joint and very popular- rightly so. The food is worth the wait. Plentiful and delicious. Get the homemade bread yall. The garbage plates are no joke! Loved every bite and my strawberry milkshake was fantastic. Would absolutely go back.
We stopped by here for lunch and had to wait about 10 min. for a seat at the bar. It is so unique and tiny. The food was really good and large portions. If the diner is full it might take a 1/2 hour for you to receive your food but it is worth it. Definitely would return again.
First time here and it did not disappoint. Food was fantastic and service was great. Pretty busy, but they work together as a team to ensure your experience is a good one. Awesome place. Will definitely be back
Thank you kevin and your beautiful wife! As always a breakfast full of sunshine and wonderfully delicious! Always worth the wait!Had half of garbage plate and brought a friend that had never experienced the Franks amazing diner!
Super cool vibes. Neat that you feel your eating on a train. Unbelievably good food. N Huge portions. Reasonably priced. Long wait but worth it.
We stay in Kenosha from Chicago sometimes and the only place we get breakfast when we do is Franks Diner. Franks is a cute little diner that has home made brunch. They made their bread in house, the dump plates are great if you are looking for a hearty breakfast, and the pancakes are as huge as your plate! The cook(s) are amazing and we will always come here for our breakfast on the lake. 10/10.
This morning was my first Frank’s Diner experience and it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The food is definitely cooked with LOVE! It was as if I cooked the food for myself or my family ( and I’m a Southern so…..lol)! The service was exceptional as well. I can’t wait to go back 😊🤤
Tiny, eclectic, and amazing. Come to Franks like youve never eaten before and leave like you just sat through four thanksgiving dinners. Snappy service with a smile, well be back whenever we get a hankering for wit and great food!Had the veggie omelette with spinach, mushrooms, cheddar and bacon. This thing was stuffed full of fresh veggies and melty gooey cheese. Homemade bread so fluffy youd think you were eating a pillow, and hash browns with crisp all-around the important bits.
First time eating there. Was awesome. Definitely will go back
This place always delivers! Order what you want, Eat what you get...
Great spot. Not sure what I can say that others have not already covered. There is a tenant in the restaurant business that if you do classic straightforward food you must do it flawlessly. Franks does this: they make great diner food very, very well.
First time here! It looked so cool inside! Everyone was nice! The food was good!
Wasnt for us. Really small and noisy inside. We ate outside. People were extremely nice and the food was good. You get a good amount of food for your $$. Order error was fixed quickly. Definitely a historical & neat place to stop for nostalgia.
Theres very little I can say about this place that just requires you to experience it yourself. Its quite the time! Attentive-hilarious staff, great food and drinks, and the ambience is out of the world adding so much to the over all experience. We had a garbage plate and pancakes -- out of this world and on another level than just your typical diner. Be prepared as the diner is cash only but theres an ATM available. Would love to go back and highly recommend.
Very cool experience.Very friendly staff.Garbage plate was great.Loved the signs on the bathroom doors. Not telling you what they are you will just have to go check it our for yourselves!
Pretty decent breakfast place and reasonably priced. Worth checking out if youve never been if for nothing else than the novelty. Staff is super nice and friendly, and they serve HUGE mimosas. Definitely in my top 3 fave breakfast spots in Kenosha.
Great food and service always popular, just put name on the list and sit in car until they call you to come in
Usually we love our garbage plate but this time around the food was only mediocre. Asked (and paid for!) Green peppers and jalapenos and onions and none of them make an appearance in my food. The food was lukewarm. A disappointing visit.
Best place to eat downtown Kenosha if you want a good home cooked meal. Go early or else you will be waiting for a while.Be prepared for great, greesy food. They have inside and outside seating. Due to the sugary foods, there are bees lurking around.
My husband and I went there for the first time today for breakfast. I got the half garbage plate with veggies, and my husband got a half garbage plate with bacon and corn beef hash. Wow it was awesome. To top it off the homemade bread 🍞 is Soo good we bought a loaf . Definitely going back!!
Delicious food in a historic diner! Homemade bread, biscuits, and cinnamon rolls (smothered in cream cheese frosting).
This place is incredible! The Garbage plate is a must along with the homemade toast YUM! Great staff, always a pleasure
They are open like 5 minutes a day and do not cater to those who got out the night before and are hungover, and just want a darn garbage plate!!! But other than that, foods great, staffs great. But there’s another 23 hours and 55 minutes in a day guys....🤑
One of my favorite places in the US. Ive been away for 20+ years and it was exactly as I remembered.
Go during the week if you dont feel like waiting. It gets crazy during the weekend but in either scenario the food is consistent delicious. The home made bread and garbage plates are my favorite. Franks Diner is a Kenosha staple, that is for sure.
Still an awesome Kenosha destination. Great group of younger severest and cooks. Lived the food and service.
I really wanted to like this place. We came from Chicago and even talked to the owner. Food took a long time and when it came it wasnt that flavorful, my hash brown was burnt. We had the chorizo garbage, turkey sandwich and a kids grilled cheese. I had a side of pancake that came ahead of the rest which we all shared and i dont know if we were super hungry but everyone said it was the best pancake they had.
First time going there. Our waitress was funny and sweet and the food was fantastic. Somehow somebody put sugar in a salt shaker and I kinda ruined my hash browns but it just made for an even more interesting first time lmao. Will definitely return!
It was very busy when we went but the food and service was amazing! All the workers were busy but they would frequently stop and make sure we were taken care of. They were super helpful with helping us order and didn’t make us feel like a pest. Food was good and affordable as well. If I could give it more stars I would! Will be back!
Staff and food was excellent You get a lot of food for the price. Highly recommend
We got the half garbage plate. So fresh and delicious. Friendly staff.
This is one of our favorite places to eat! We love the staff, the food is nothing exceptional, but good old fashioned greasy spoon diner fare that cant be beat!
Great place to eat, very nice people, but thr only thing that was bad. Was the flies.. but overall. Great place to eat
Great Service!! A unique place to eat and their Captain Crunch French Toast is OUTSTANDING!!
As someone who really has a thing for breakfast, this cute little Diner takes the cake. It has a very hearty atmosphere and everyone was hilarious. If you’re having trouble deciding on what to get, I highly recommend the garbage plate. You can never go wrong with that choice. I do plan on coming back to tackle those pancakes! Also, it is cash only but there is an ATM. Who doesn’t like the feeling of handing over crispy dollar bills though, am I right?? 😉 But love it, willing to catch a flight for a bite. Looking forward to heading back over there all the way from Seattle!
Can I say busy? But their food and service is consistently good! Even during busy times, staff always are willing to answer questions and never seem to rush customers. A destination for a day trip to kenosha should include Franks.
Their customer service is phenomenal. Always checking with you to make sure you have everything and are doing well. Personable and compassionate. Highly recommend
This place has always been great. 5 stars all around.
Great food and a fun experience!! It was my first time and I was very pleased!
Service was friendly the garbage plate and homemade toast were awesome! Cant wait to go back the next time Im in Kenosha.
BEST BREAKFAST IN KENOSHA FOOD AND PRICEWISE. THEY ARE ALWAYS BUSY SO PREPARE TO WAIT!
We stopped in with out of town family as part of a downtown tour. They ordered shakes and a malt. The drinks were pretty big and worth every penny.
A 4.5 & Always Good Food. You never really know if theres a wait because people come back so check. Its often worth the wait. Good people work (&/or own) Franks.I drive 24 miles east to Franks. My family loves it. Its small with big time meals. 😛
Classic dinner food. Very enjoyable- great food and service. And terrific value for the money.
Theres very little I can say about this place that just requires you to experience it yourself. This is the cutest dinner, built in an old train car, the food is homemade and delicious to boot. The Garbage plate is memorable, so memorable in fact that I wake up in the morning randomly craving it. I highly recommend.
Such a nice diner. Loaded oatmeal was excellent. Service staff super nice. Definitely a must go to place to eat.
Food was delicious and we had plenty on our plates great service also
Great food, space is a little tiny and seats are uncomfortable. But definitely would come back. Great breakfast.
Amazing food and very friendly staff a must go place definitely worth the drive will not disappoint it was truly amazing in there.
Great food and super fun atmosphere!!Franks diner is one of those places you just have to go... Consider it a life experience..and well worth it..
Meal was great even though I didnt get my side item. They credited my bill on their own accord.
Stop making the most fantastic breakfast maybe one could get a seat slot quickerOn second thought, good things do come to those who wait..Hi everyone at Franks! Your doing Gods work..Long live Frank!
Best food ever. Worth the money and very filling.
So small you can barely move. You will smell when you leave. If you dont eat certain foods, dont eat here bc it will be mixed in with your dish. Owner is extremely rude. I will never go there againSo professional to respond. Yea such a joke it was. Grow up.
Great homemade food. Staff great. You may have to wait for a table. Bring cash. Pancakes, garbage plate, toast really good. Kids have fun.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The food is well above average, and the atmosphere is lively. I would caution, plan on spending more time here than a traditional diner.
My wife and i ordered a hakf stack of pancakes and a half garbage plate (a garbage plate is egg, potato etc all mixed in together). It all tastes great. l almost couldnt walk after. Its a crazy little place, but a must see in the area. The railway car setup is a lot of fun and the staff are very friendly.
Waited 2o minutes to get a seat and wasnt even thst busy. Then waited 30 minutes for the food all while everyone else after me received there food when I asked whats going on they said they missed it was told it would be right out. 10 minutes later still no food and was told it was coming well after a few minutes I walked out and the girl with zero personality at the door says have a nice day. I will never go to this place again or recommended it to anyone
Still a great breakfast. Glad they open at 7 on the weekend. Great food and service. The owner is a gem.
Adorable decor, good food, fun servers, reasonable prices. Very interesting place.🌝
Classic place. I had a cup of chili, a tuna melt with cole slaw and pickle and a beer. Everything was good. The cole slaw could use some more seasoning, but the tuna melt was the best Ive ever had. They got the bread nice and toasted with butter. Friendly service, too.Attached is a shot of the menu with the history of the place, going back to 1926.
Arrived here on 7/19/21 at approximately 9:30am.I was only going to give this place a one star because of one really rude individual but owning a business myself I decided that it wasnt fair to the business and rest of the crew.I didnt catch any names but she was a very young/white and had her hair in a bun with black nike shoes. She was very rude before we even sat down and got worse as we were trying to order, rolling her eyes at us and acting like we were a inconvience to her day, we almost walked out.The only reason you are getting five stars is because of the rest of your crew and the older gentlman going table to table making conversation. As a business Owner I wouldnt want a bad review over one bad apple but I would like it to be brought to my attention...
My grandkids took me out to breakfast. I had the homemade French toast. Id eat there every morning if I could. Can they open one in Florida?
The food has always been great. The amounts huge. But the service, its hit or miss. After 1.5 years of not going due to Covid, my last visit left a lot to be desired. New waitress with zero social skills, supervising waitress too busy to notice. Sat for a loooong while before they noticed we were finished, and never did offer the bill and/or any to-go boxes.
Had a great experience at Franks. Ordered two garbage plates as well as a cinnamon roll. Prices are so reasonable, in portions are generous. Definitely a staple in the Kenosha area for breakfast or brunch
Great did, long wait... But they provide Drinkk service even when waiting
People complaining about the rudeness of this place are whats wrong with the world today. Theyre all awesome people working here trying to be light hearted and trying to make people laugh. Hide in your home for the rest of your life if youre easily offended, that would make all of us normal people super happy if we didnt need to deal with the likes of you. Food is the bomb and and its even better warmed up later. Thanks for the vibe. My friend said wed have to come here everytime she visits. She would love to bring her mother there just to see the look on her snooty face when her pansy a-- cant handle the humor. Keep it up Franks
Amazing place but could not eat. It was over an hour just to place your order.
If youre looking for the greasy spoon to outdo all other greasy spoons, Franks Diner is the one for you. They are unapologetically who they are and will never change. The food is simply ridiculous. Their Garbage Plates are the signature dish and theyre appropriately named - theyre greasy, messy, cheesy, and delicious. They offer up a bunch of other standard breakfast goodies that Im told are also awesome. The atmosphere is unparalleled and cannot be replicated - its akin to stepping into a time capsule. This establishment is cash only and the wait staff is fast and demands action.Get to Franks and eat your way through a Kenosha landmark!
Iconic and unique. Great food.
My favorite greasy spoon. The day I went, they were closed. They are never closed. The owners needed a break, and closed for 3 days. I will go back!
