We consulted with Jim about several major home projects: a garage rebuild, replacing siding on our home, the addition of a deck, and expanding our back entryway into a mud room. It was great to talk to one person who could answer questions about all aspects of the projects. Response to my initial inquiry was quick and questions were answered thoroughly. Top priority was demo and rebuild of a new garage. Jim easily handled an issue with our property line/survey that had prevented us from moving forward with this project previously. It was great to have an experienced and knowledgeable builder coordinating this project, and the subcontractors involved were all kind and professional people. We are thrilled with the final result.
We hired Buskirk Construction to completely remodel our house—3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, family room. All interior doors, woodwork, flooring and windows were replaced. Exterior was painted and lights replaced. We were beyond pleased with the quality of the finished product and the professionalism of Jim’s team. Their attention to detail was exceptional. We would highly recommend them for any project large or small.
Jim and his crew recently replaced 2 second story windows and they are so much better than the builders grade that came with the house. We also had a patio door that the locking system had failed and we thought we would have to replace the door. Jim looked it over and pointed out to us that the door was not installed perfectly straight and that was why it was not working. They took the door out, replaced the frame and now it’s good as new. Jim’s honesty saved us a bundle and we appreciated it! We’ve used Buskirk Construction for several other windows as well and we are always happy with his professional work.
They were on site for approx. 14 months (by design) This was a 6 figure job involving extending the depth of our garage, re-modeling two bathrooms and decreasing the size of our windows. Their sub-contractors were top notch, matching 40year old brick and mortar is no easy task. Everyone showed up on time and the job site was neat as a pin at the end of every day. Recommended them to 3 of my neighbors and everyone has been very satisfied. Theyre welcome back anytime. I also highly recommend Loewen window from Canada.
I have had Buskirk construction do many projects in my home and my mom has hired them for multiple large jobs. 2 bathrooms, major kitchen remodel and now starting work in a sunroom. Work included knocking out walls, windows, doors, plumbing, tile, painting, wood and tile floors all of which I have to say were beyond more beautiful than we could have even imagined. I work with the public and it is always a challenge to envision an end result of a client but I can’t say enough about how wonderful the process was and how the end result in all of our projects has been the best experience: would highly recommend them and there team. Thank you for making our home dreams come true.
I have hired Buskirk Construction several times to do work around my house. From replacing patio doors, to installing closet units. Everything they do looks great! I would recommend this family owned business to anyone.
Jim came out of his car and walked over to us. He wasnt wearing a mask. When we asked if he had one, he said yes, then proceeded to get close to me to hand me a card. Still not wearing a mask. He asked what we were looking to do, and I asked if he wanted to walk around the house and look as we talked about it. He said yes. I asked if he would mind grabbing his mask so he could do that. Visibly irritated, he said he WOULD mind but hed do it anyway. Beyond it being unprofessional, it was childish and selfish. I told him not to bother and sent him on his way.
No masks were worn the entire process.Left a mess.Entire project was poorly done.Every attempt to re-negotiate what we wanted done was met with a “well, that is someone else’s fault” or “you are wrong and it is perfect” “that is the nature of the product”.Run if you are referred to them. RUN!!!
Buskirk Construction is fantastic. Ive used them on multiple projects. They are true professionals and their work is perfect. Good people to work with.
Had this company replace cabinets and counters and performed horrible work. Attitude was the worst and the company is run by a true jerk. Don’t believe the positive reviews this guy really is a true jerk talk to him and you will see for yourself. Anyone is better than this guy. Never again!!
Buskirk Construction just finished our beautiful kitchen. Every time we walk into our kitchen we can not believe it is ours. It looks like a kitchen out of a magazine. We can not say enough about the crew that works for/with Buskirk. A big “THANK YOU” to Jim Buskirk, Beth, Jim(carpenter), Morgan(carpenter), Len (drywaller), Kevin(painter) and Guy(electrician). All construction was done on time and on budget. You all did an outstanding job and we will be forever grateful for our beautiful kitchen. Great job!!!
Run don’t walk from this “builder”. I contracted Buskirk to replace a fireplace and associated work with it. WOW what a mistake he was on every level. I will say when he is trying to get your money, he is very nice and easy to work with. Unfortunately, once he get the money it goes down hill in the worst way. It did take some time between deposit and work being started. Although I feel like that is normal as I have had multiple contractors in and out of my house. First the fireplace was installed almost at floor level. This is a modern fireplace that should be installed almost to waist level. I explained multiple times and showed him multiple times where we wanted it. Of course this did not occur. When asked to fix every excuse imaginable as to why he can’t or doesn’t suggest he change it occurred. I even have his excuses recorded. I am 100% certain he will respond to this review and of course pass blame to the customer which is what he does. The stacked stone was installed with large gaps and it is not supposed to have any gaps. In fact some are 1/8 inch when there should be no gapping. Of course you guessed it this joker blames the customer again. The old gas lines were not removed and bang on the floor and a huge mess has been left everywhere. His response to everything is we just want to bash him. No we don’t want to bash him we just wanted the work done correctly. His attitude is horrible and is very difficult to work with. Please choose anyone else I hope you do not have to go threw what we did.(Updated 10/6/2020 from builder response. Lets be clear they have contacted me multiple times I agree to that, but that is because I contact them to ask them to do the job right. They contact me with excuses as to why they wont. THEY WILL NOT FIX THERE ISSUES I HAVE ASKED. Further if you want to fix your issues be my guest come and fix the issues. However, They wont because they DO NOT care about the customer! I have asked them 3 times for final invoice to give them payment and they refuse to even provide that. My guess because there ashamed of the work and they dont want anything in writing. These guys lie and lie and lie its disgusting. I just wanted a fireplace that was nice that I could appreciate everyday. This company made sure that would not happen. In my original estimate they stated the will take care of electrical and gas. If you come see my basement there is a gas line hanging and electrical hanging all out of the drop ceiling. )
In rec room the bar area removed and updated. what a great improvement working with Jim was a good experience
I feel boskirk construction is one of the top builders in South East Wisconsin quality is 100%, prices are fair and stayed on schedule throughout the whole project!!! A great local company.
