Absolute worst company ever then a customer for 15 plus years got a little behind in the bill they turned me off transferred seven times on hold over and over 45 minutes later disconnected. You couldnt pick a worst alarm company if you tried

I cannot recommend protection 1/ADT after using them for about 12 years. My alarm system need an update and started beeping. The service tech came out for what I was told was the free appointment. The cellular battery needed to be replaced. Told I would pay about $35. They charge me $245. I am on my fifth call the customer service each time being told $210 of the charges being waived and getting apologies. It never is waived I keep getting letters saying I’m overdue. Customer service is not empowered at all. They will not allow you to talk to a supervisor. Every time I start from scratch because they do not have records of prior calls. All they have to do is keep the alarm system on and collect my money every month, but they cannot waive the charge they keep saying they’re going to waive that should’ve never happened in the first place. Too incompetent to stay with. I just hope my credit report doesn’t start reflecting at nonpayment.

Be careful when making an appointment with these people. Theyll call you to setup something when they dont even have parts on hand, cancel the appointment they made with you without telling you, and then reschedule without consulting you. Make sure your scheduler is not Tammy, she has no idea what shes doing.

BEWARE!!! Protection 1 (and ADT) will automatically renew a 1 year contract every year WITHOUT your knowledge or consent. When you go to cancel your service (in my case, 8 years later) they will charge YOU for every month that they dont get to bill you. I called the customer service people and they will NOT waive the fee. I just received a $431.04 bill because they renewed me (without my knowledge) and are demanding payment for the rest of the one year contract. I recommend finding a service provider that Actually Cares about their Customers.

We have two businesses tied to our alarm system. We are on a holiday schedule for Memorial Day Monday to be armed during normal businesses as we are closed. The schedule was entered incorrectly (we assume, as the technician who FINALLY showed up said he wasnt there to check our history) just our future schedule/holiday hours. Anyway, Monday the building was unarmed and the automatic doors were unlocked and Tuesday while we were open our doors were locked and our alarm sounded every hour (in both businesses). Protection 1 said they could not do anything or express compensation until a tech came out. They scheduled us for that afternoon, rescheduled us for the following afternoon, then rescheduled us to the morning, and a technician finally came Wednesday afternoon at 5:30 (an hour after we closed, 5.5 hours out of our arrival window). Fortunately my mother in law was there working late and able to let him in however she was unaware of what he was there to do so I had to speak to the technician over the phone. He was less than pleasant and even less helpful. I still have no idea if anything was resolved. The one thing I asked him to do was have a supervisor call me to discuss my experience. I wont be holding my breath. Worst of all... this is not the first time this has happended and I doubt it will be the last.Tech support over the phone is consistently good, Ill give them that.Will update if I ever hear back from a supervisor and see resolution.

I’ve been getting calls 2-3 times a day for 2 weeks from their billing dept. I had given them an updated card after mine expired and they didn’t bill it properly. I immediately fixed it, and they said they’d charge me for 2 months ahead of time to get it corrected. I’ve talked to 4 different people that have said they’ve corrected the problem, and I’m STILL getting calls several times a day to pay them. I don’t appreciate being harassed for your billing mistake, just because you didn’t put the correct card on auto pay. No one checks notes and I keep having to explain that I’ve paid up, and each time they’ll say I won’t receive more harassment calls. You’re supposed to keep my house safe, not give me anxiety!!

Customer service is excellant. The sales guy who was scheduled for our in-home assessment called half an hour prior to his arrival and he arrived right on time. The technician who replaced our system arrived right on time. Online Chat representat Ive was efficient.All-in-all, I am very happy with the Protection One.

Our business had an account with them for 15+ years and then found out that our system wasnt even working when a guy coming it for fix our phones told us it wasnt working. We then called a tech fro Protection One to look at our system and he said this system hasnt worked in years!. So we cancelled our account with them and they send us a bill for almost $500 that said monitoring for 2018..WHAT?!? Then they said it was for a cancellation fee. Why would I pay for a cancellation fee if my system has worked in 3 years & I paid $1,800 in 3 years without service!! When we talked with them on the phone they said well we were monitoring your smoke alarms so we had another alarm company come out and they also said our smoke alarms and our whole system was NOT working. So they werent monitoring anything!
