So I went to this place in Kent and the tortillas were so small, without exaggeration they were smaller than the palm of my hand! The coffee was like water with a brown color with no flavor, I asked the rude waitress why it was so clear and she was rude and didn’t even said anything so I order a soda. Prices and wait time are so exaggerated. Please look upon different options before you come here or you might just be disappointed.
I am Guatemalan but let me tell you, this place has the worst Guatemalan food (if we can call it Guatemalan), I ordered Pepian, I know what Pepian is and that wasn’t even 1% of what Pepian taste like. Also a waiter couldn’t even tell an American customer the name of Lago Atitlan (they have a picture), he call it lago Panajachel.
So I came in, wanting to get a quick lunch, and I asked one of the staff members if you were offering Dine In. She gave me a weird look, shook her head, and said next door. What bothered me about that is that I dont think its difficult to be courteous and polite, and say Im sorry we are not offering Dine In at this time, only carry out, but if you are only looking to dine in next door offers that. A little bit of politeness goes a long way.
The tortillas alone make this worthwhile, but everything was cooked perfectly! It did take a little while because they were super busy since we went at Sunday lunch time.
Food was great! Guatemala food is a first for me and by no means was I disappointed. Service was great food was great, will definitely be coming back with the family.

Love this restaurant!! Delicious Guatemalan food, helpful sweet servers and cooks. We drove over an hour to come visit, and we were glad we did. We had breakfast and we enjoyed it so much we came back for dinner. Well definitely go back in the future.Highlights were the churrasco Chapin (similar to Mexican carne asada), tamales, garnachas, and shucos, a Guatemala street truck food.If youre not familiar with Guatemalan food, its not American Mexican or even traditional Mexican food. Even our tortillas are different. If youre gluten or dairy intolerant, check with your server but most Guatemalan food is wheat and dairy free. You wont find cheddar cheese here except on the kids menu, most things arent spicy unless you add spice with jalapenos.We ordered family style so almost everything from the breakfast menu and many things from the dinner menu. Not everything was the way it was made traditionally where my dad is from, but it was all delicious, and even he enjoyed it. The only really surprising thing were the huevos rancheros that werent cooked in tomatoes, but only had a little tomato salsa on top. I can tell this place has so much potencial with the menu with most of the traditional dishes from Guatemala! I’ve been at Antigua 3 times for the past month an a half. I have enjoyed the items I have ordered such a pollo dorado, shukos and the chow mein and more. There’s always a pleasant experience with the food unlike the service. Restaurant is always empty or at least every time I have been there with the family. No music is playing the background so it’s a bit awkward. Servers don’t check on you after dropping the food on the table, no water is provided unless you ask for it. They drop the check on the table assuming you’re done ordering. I’ll probably order togo instead of dine-in next time if I’m in the neighborhood!
Sometimes the food tastes like real Guatemalan food, sometimes it doesnt. It seems they dont follow a consistent recipe. It is also way too expensive. Pepian is about @17.00. In a dinner for two we ended up paying $63.00. They need to adjust their prices if they expect clients to go back. The place is so emtpy all the time, I guess is for those reasons, food too expensive or because they dont keep up the quality of the food. Presentation of the food is nice and the place looks inviting too.

Im so glad I found this gem! A little Guatemala inside this restaurant. My friend is Guatemalan so of course when we saw this place, it was a must try! We got the Shucos which is a Guatemalan style hotdog, one word DELICIOUS! One critique would be that the sausage needed a little bit more salt, it was a bit bland, but luckily the sauces sorta help.
Very disappointed with the food, Food is very expensive and tasteless. We ordered a tamal and it was spoiled, the pupusas were very bland and small. If you are looking for authentic guatemalan food go somewhere else.

This restaurant left me saying meh. It started with being sat down with out menus, or being asked if I wanted a drink and with out silverware or napkins. After waiting about 15 mins not seeing the waiter I finally had to get up and ask for a menu.After receiving the menu I was excited to see some authentic offerings. I picked the tamales, which were the Saturday, Sunday special. My friends both chose the Guatamala breakfast. I say we chose because it was another long wait before we had to flag the server down again (there was only one other table of people in the restaurant at the time I was there). We ordered and started the third long wait. This time I understood the wait ( good food takes time and this is a new restaurant). Our waiting was not paid off however. The coffee we ordered when the menus were dropped off took 18 mins to arrive and it was watered down coffee that tasted like instant coffee that was too far diluted. Finally 45 mins after arriving at the restaurant we got our food. Underwhelming doesnt begin to describe this food. The side of beans I ordered came out cold as if they were in the fridge, the tamales were barely warm and didnt have the Traditional tomato sauce they were advertised to come with. Which left them wanting to be good but just missing the Mark; it was lacking in a way. Finally the service was the worst part is this experience. Above what I wrote about already, I flagged the server down a couple of times to get more coffee and was meet with rolled eyes or just ignoring. For a new restaurant they are missing some major marks. And after bringing them to light they still felt it appropriate to charge me full price for the meal. I will not be back and I suggest no one else go. If you do decide to go I hope your experience is better than mine.

Mi niece from Guatemala came to visit us for Christmas so we chose to go here to see how authentic it was. It was given five stars by everyone in the family. The star was the Churrasco! Wow, so flavorful and tender. The beans were so much better than a lot of other places that just open a big can of refried beans and reheat them. These beans are a rich dark, almost black color, not the pale sickly looking refried beans at most places. Great pupusas, cabbage slaw and red sauce...great guanacos, which are like small tacos but on thick fluffy fried corn tortillas. Great all around and very friendly. We were sad to have to eat it at a park in the cold, due to Emperor Inslees restrictions (this place is 30 mins from where we live so we didnt want to drive all the way home to eat cold soggy takeout, so instead we had warm fresh takeout in the cold, haha). Worth a visit, you wont be disappointed.
I don’t know why this place isn’t packed! I’m SUPER glad a friend brought me here, otherwise I would’ve continued to miss out. I am VERY picky when it comes to eating out because I love to eat/cook at home. But this place NEVER disappoints. Some of the best meat I’ve tried. The food was really good and the portion sizes were huge! We eat mostly Mexican food so this was a treat to try something different. I was able to er at the restaurant and take some home for another meal. I was surprised to see rice and potato salad on the plate but I’m not complaining. The customer service there was great! Very clean restaurant
The food was authentic and delicious - pupusas, kakik, tamales. I wish we lived closer so we could do takeout more often. When we arrived home the doblados were not as crispy which was in part due to the 25 min drive home, but I also was looking forward to the super crispy doblados I remember from zona 5. The only other feedback is that one of the cooks was not wearing a mask. Overall though, well definitely be back and look forward to the day we can dine in.

We have been here twice now and both times a great experience. Friendly service and the food is beyond incredible. last time I had the caldo de gallina and enchiladas. My wife has pepian. OMG, my mouth is watering just remembering. I think this weekend we will try and go back so we can try the ka kik which they only make on the weekends.
Very interesting and likeable ethnic food that was quite different than Mexico. They had a hot corn drink with several spices absolutely delicious and never thought about trading in my morning cup of starter fluid for the morning wake up but this would be it for special days like Xmas.

You can find authentic and exquisite Guatemalan food here. The food is housemade even the chorizo and they serve handmade tortillas. Now thats dedication! They took a while to get our order, but it was worth the wait! I 100% recommend. They have gained a new customer!

I came to this restuarant very excited because there arent many Guatemalan restaurants but came out very disappointed. They have the worst service Ive ever seen. We came in and asked for a table and a high chair for my baby but they only had 2 high chairs that were being used. Since its a new restaurant we understood and sat my baby on my lap. Our server gave us our menus and asked what we wanted to drink. My husband order a coffee that took about 10 minutes to get served. I ordered an orange juice. Which my husband had to remind the server that I had ordered because she didnt bring it with the coffee. We ordered the guatemalan breakfast, my husband ordered the chuchitos that were Sunday special with an enchilada. After 20 minutes of waiting for our food the server comes back saying that they are out of the chuchitos so my husband ordered the rellenitos instead. My husband had ordered his breakfast with over-hard eggs and of course the server forgot to put that in so they brought him scrambled eggs. Mind you we had been waiting about 45 already. My husband tried to order flour tortillas in which she responded, They are too big & I cant give it to you. She never came back to ask us if everything was okay. We had to ask for our tortillas because she had forgotten. She never brought napkins. If we asked for something it would take a long time for her to come back with it. My husband had to go get a high chair once the other family left. The only good thing that came with our breakfast were the fried plantains and there only 5 little pieces of that. My baby was at this point fussy so my husband took my baby and I stood up to pay. I could have literally walked out without paying. I stood at the cashier for about 5 min until the server came I asked her if I could just get the rellenitos to-go. Which she replies, We dont have anymore so I never put in the order. I got mad and told her why didnt you tell my husband after you knew that you didnt have any? Which she responded but Im not charging you. That is not the point. You cant have customers waiting on something you dont have. I understand this is a new restaurant but you have to have better service. I hope the owner reads the reviews and tries to fix it.

Bad service with No experience what there doing and the Churrasco Plate is so expensive for a little flat steak, Torrejas not even close how the flavor is, I think Manager or Owner need to put more effort and training your servers so they can do better !

Actually the food was not good, we ordered some popusas and they had no flavor, neither did the tanning, the chicken broth looked like Water with vegetables without salt, we will not return to this place.

What a disappointment in what they call cold cuts! They gave me a plate of cooked vegetables and a piece of sausage. Please do not buy cold cuts from this place that is not cold cuts !!!!
