This is a really nice store however I went online to look for some tables and it said they had them in When I went there to pick them up they told me there werent any so I decided to stop for lunch and check the website again and I had to call the store manager just to find out that they had them in the back. The first employee when I was there the first time could have checked that thats why I gave them two stars.

Let me just inform anyone who is getting ready to go to this location, you will be waiting a long time for a worker to help with anything.. there was 1 person working when I arrived. She was overwhelmed, and clearly needed help. She stated that her manager was there but was doing a walk through with her boss.. yet at least 10 customers were standing waiting for help or waiting to be checked out..they also don’t lay salt down.. so walk slow.. I learned the hard way. Slipped and fell.. informed the “manager” and was told she would “lay salt when she returned inside”. Cracked my tail bone. Be safe. Spend money somewhere else

Called your store(early Saturday, May 8th) for a product check, as I was driving in to GR from another state. Janae?(spelling) answered the phone. She was obviously annoyed that I asked her to look for a decor product. Pshhhh...Well maam if you dont have a sku, telling me what it looks like wont help me any Clearly she is rude and doesnt have eyes to look for a very specific product that I described to her. She put me on hold. Melissa picked up the phone and was an absolute sweetheart. She was so nice and detailed. She not only quickly found the product but placed it on hold at the furniture desk for me.

Big Lots used to have such good deals but now a days most everything is priced more than the other retail stores(such as Target,Meijer,Wal-Mart ect...)when Big Lots used to be known as more of a discount store,so its very disappointing to see the prices so much higher & barely any good deals.

If you want to get good customer service DONT GO TO BIG LOTS ON 28th STREET IN GR. We ordered furniture a month ago and were told that we were next in line for the couch. Come to find out, 4 couches have come in and they’ve been given to others. They keep “promising” us that the next one is ours but then when that next one comes in, they give it to someone else. The manager straight up admitted that they keep forgetting to call us and that we are next on the list. When we ask if they can give us a discount for all the terrible service it’s a big fat no.I’m telling you, to hear a manager of a company admit they keep forgetting about us is a real slap in the face. Seriously, don’t go here. I’d give zero stars if it was allowed.

Walked up to the register with my items. Questioned if an item was really 50% off as it was sitting next to a bunch of 50% off tags. Instantly was being told i was tailgating and it was illegal.... Told her i didnt want the item anymore and she got frustrated and came and took the item. Rung my order up .. Asked if i had a big lots card. I said yes but wasnt able to dig it out as fast. She then said never mind and told me to come back in for the rewards at another time. I then said umm no and made her wait on me....

This is the best Big Lots in the Grand Rapids area. Clean, well-lit, and usually very well stocked and merchandised. Checkout staff are friendly and patient.Today was the Friends & Family 20% off sale. Everything in the store gets the discount. This is a great time to get furniture, curtains, a vacuum, cookware, small appliances, patio furniture, a grill or other bigger ticket items.

Big Lots have some very good prices on their items... It also helps that for being a reward member they will send you promotional offers through the email in free merchandise and/or discount coupon on your total bill... The staff are very friendly, helpful and pleasant to be working at this location...

A ZERO star would be best! We went in on 7.25.2020 to look at furniture for our sunroom, Big Lots is known for carrying a mediaoaker quality line, and thats exactly what we needed for our sunroom. My son and his friend were sitting on the recliners near the entrance, laid back testing them out when an employee told them not to mess with the recliners I figured the kids were screaming around, and we told them just stay with us. 20 or so minutes later they wanted to sit down while we decided what couch, chair and loveseat to go with. I was watching the boys, they were sitting on the chairs, and pretending to slide off like jelly, no big deal, not being loud, or doing any damage to the furniture, just being kids. The same lady came over and told then to stop messing around on the chairs again, never came to us and said, hey can you not have the kids do that. I wish I had a videotape of what they were doing, everyone except this old hag would just look and look away it was so minor of playing. Crux of this review is, we were about ready to spend 1200.00, but thanks to the lady who had to be rude to my son and his friend, we walked out! Went to Value City and spent $3000 because the lady was so nice, and helped us pick out other items to match. I hope the manager looks at the tapes and speaks to his worthless employee. We were in around 1PM. She knows she was in the wrong, you should value people trying to spend money in times like this.

Incredible prices on home decor, bedding, curtains & window hardware. They have discounted Yankee candles, discounted hair products - sometimes the deals on shampoo/conditioner/styling products are shocking. The OTC meds are cheap too - you can get a bottle of 365 generic benadryl allergy tablets for $5.50 - rather than the $17,000.00 youd have to pay at a drug store. I always check here first for household cleaners, air fresheners, Glade candles (super cheap!) outdoor decor, etc. Mucho Farmhouse decor if youre into that - and if you need towels/ bedding etc. for upcoming holiday guests check here first.

I like big lots, I went in search for keto friendly food and I found some. Its just always seem so empty to me. I hate the closed the big lots in rogerss plaza. I use to go to big lots regularly. Now I only go if Im in the area by one.

I would usually rate Big Lots very highly due to the location, selection and prices but today the manager Mike (tall white man with glasses) followed my girlfriend and I around the store. We even split up and he followed my girlfriend down every aisle, even when she doubled back to grab cat food he was there. When we walked up to check out, he was right behind us to watch as we checked out. We made the cashiers aware of what was going on and verified that he actually worked there and wasnt a human trafficker (you hear all those horror stories at grocery stores, im not wrong to say that). This experience made us extremely uncomfortable to the point that we do not plan on returning to that location while this man is employed. He made us feel very uncomfortable and unsafe while we were shopping. Would not reccommend any woman going there alone.
