Not exactly pleased with my takeout order as i felt i didnt receive what was advertised. I ordered crab cake Benedict and because I normally love crab cakes and potatoes decided to get it. When i get to my resort i noticed the potatoes that were served wasnt the same in the picture. My wifes eggs wasnt cooked all the way so she decided not to return. You tell me if what i have in my plate is the same on their photo.
Its now my favorite place for breakfast in Maui. Kuala Pork Loco Moco is a must have! Very tender pork with savory gravy, perfectly running egg yolks, and pork fried rice(upgrade choice) is so good as a comfort food. Same can be said to French Toast with banana and mac nuts. Portion is very generous too.The only downside is the long line, and one staff was rude. When we trying to sit down by a table, and he shouted `there` and pointing to the bar seat facing outside.
Had the crab cake Benedict sub fruit for potatos and added fruit, with an iced coffee. Line was long at 9:30am Sat but wait was only about 30ish min and pretty well worth it. Can see the park across the street from most seats. Outdoor seating only. It seems best parking is to drive down the main road just past Kihei and pull right into the parking area after. There were plenty of spots when we went.
The line is worth the wait. It goes fast. Do not get discouraged by what looks like an endless wait for a table. It is not, but still give yourself about 30 minutes to wait for a table at peak times.Possibly the best breakfast in Maui. Excellent service and amazingly tasty food. Everything on the menu is great. French toast is exceptionally good. If you are in Kihei, stop for sure. If are in other parts of Maui, find some way to get here for breakfast. It will be a highlight of your Maui adventures.
Best breakfast in Maui! Don’t get scared about the line it goes fast! We waited less than 30 minutes. Use the time to read the menu and prepare also an alternative option. I wanted to have the eggs Benedict but they run out of the Hollandaise sauce. I ended up choosing the 2-2-2 breakfast and I am so glad I did! 2 eggs, 2 Canadian bacon 🥓 and 2 French toast. I added as extra on the toast blueberries and macadamia nuts. It was perfect. My husband ordered the loco moco and loved it! Do not miss out and go there at least once!
Arrived around 0930, waited approximately 30-40ish minutes in line. Staff were super helpful, line was partially shaded. Food came out almost immediately after ordering.Drinks : I had a guava lemonade (amazing) my friend ordered the fresh OJ ($5 for a very small glass but also amazing).Food : is pictured, all absolutely delicious. Don’t sleep on the coconut syrup! We will have to refrain from coming again during our stay so we can try other places too!
There can be a long wait between 8 and 10 (as their website warns) but it does move quickly. Someone brought out samples of iced coffee while we were waiting. The iced Coconut and Macadamia nut coffee with caramel is delicious! The NY strip steak n eggs was rare as requested, the Eggs Benedict were made perfectly, and the banana Macadamia nut French toast was just a treat. My daughter was happy with the turtle pancake. The portions are generous, so plan on taking some home.
Loved the food! The long line was totally worth it. We were in love with the French toast and the coconut syrup that was recommended !! God! it was out of the world. I loved the fish as well, it was well seasoned and soo fresh!Definitely recommending this place to our friends when they visit. If you are in Maui, don’t forget to try the delicious French toast!
Disappointed would be the word I would use to describe this restaurant. There is always a long line to wait for food that is mediocre. People rave about their pancakes and their dishes but the only item I could eat on their menu was a cut papaya with yogurt and a cup of coffee. My fiance did mention that the pancakes were not worth the hype everyone gives this place and not worth the wait in line. The wait staff is attentive and nice. Other than that, there is no other reason to eat here. I would recommend going elsewhere for breakfast. There are lots of great places to eat in Kihei.
Great breakfast spot in Kihei. Very casual, outdoor dining. More options than most places which is really nice. Having an array of choices is a nice change compared to a lot of the resort breakfast spots that tend to have a limited menu. Had the crab cake Benedict - crab cake, hollandaise and English muffin were great, poached egg was a bit under done. Breakfast potatoes are fine, but could be more flavorful/interesting, I would suggest substituting with the pork fried rice or grits which are both very good.
Visiting friends who recommended this place for breakfast. The food was amazing...though I wish Id ordered the pancakes after trying the coconut syrup. The wait wasnt that bad and we found a good place to sit. Wed heard they were cash only but it looks like they take cards now. Great location too and parking wasnt bad. Well be back!
Really great breakfast! We stood in line outside for about 30 minutes, but got seated right after we ordered, and food came very fast. We had a group of 10 which they were able to accommodate. My wife said the banana macadamia nut pancakes with the coconut syrup were the best pancakes she’s had her entire life!I had the moco loco which was OK. I probably wouldn’t order it again. It’s very savory and I wanted something traditional Hawaiian.
We got kind of sidetracked trying to find a restaurant and this place came up in the search results. We were looking for somewhere we could get in and out of fast, and thats definitely what this place is. We had to wait maybe 10 minutes to order and our food came out like 5 minutes later. I think the food was pretty good and the prices werent bad.A good place for a quick meal. Service is excellent.
Do it. You can watch the chicken dramas play out while you wait in line (it moves quickly).I ordered 2 meals since I couldnt decide. I dont regret a thing. They were so good, I didnt even get a pic. Ordered the crab Benedict and banana Mac waffles. Friend ordered the Kahlua Moco, which I did upload and it was also delish.
Breakfast here was absolutely delicious. Went here twice. First time I got a breakfast burrito which was wonderful. Their strawberry lemonade is also great. Highly recommend going here. Their 2-2-2 breakfast was fresh and amazing. I got it with french toast. Although there is a long line it moves so fast so dont pick somewhere else to go.
After a week in Kihei! My wife and I finally got up early enough (5:30am) to get there and have breakfast and still we werent the first in line when we arrived at 5:55am 😂 but it was great! My wife ended up getting waffle instead of the ham biscuits and gravy. It was too salty. Great customer service ! 👏 very kind and attentive
We found this on a list of top breakfasts in Maui and it didn’t disappoint. We had a waffle topped with strawberries which had great batter and perfectly made waffle with huge fresh strawberries; the fried catfish with scrambled eggs and cheese grits - crispy fish that wasn’t too salty. Grits came in a formed square. I haven’t seen grits like those before but they were still tasty; and finally the 2-2-2 - pretty good deal! We got it with the french toast topped with banana and macadamia nuts and wish we had tried the pancakes as the french toast wasn’t anything special. The bacon tasted really good and not overly processed.Plan for a long line to wait to order but we arrived around 8:45am and finished eating at left at 10am so they definitely keep it moving.Great service despite the busy-ness. We look forward to returning during a future Maui trips.
They staff was short and not the most friendly. My mom and I wanted to get to-go food and the process was tiresome. We waited to get in-line, and then we eventually got in line to order. The cashier wasn’t friendly. I even gave her a 20% tip because I know how hard restaurants work.My coffee came out right away, but we waited a good 22 minutes for a simple fish sandwich to come out. We stood in the sun with no help from the employees. I wish I could take my tip back. The fish sandwich was excellent and the coffee was really great!
The breakfast came highly recommended, there was a line and it was quicker than I thought it would be. The food came out very quickly too. Excellent food, definitely will go back again. When in line they handed out free samples of their drinks, very nice touch to let people know that they do care. The staff was very friendly and happy!! Highly recommend this place for breakfast!!
Food was average and the price was so expensive! The mango lemonade had no mango flavor. Save your money and go to the Dennys when it opens or save it for a good lunch.
Food was amazing! We had the fried rice with two over easy eggs on top, and also the French toast with fresh banana and macadamia nuts. Both were perfect! The line was long but moved fast, and food came so quick. Totally worth it!!
Well run operation start to finish! This is one of the best breakfast spots in Kihei so there will be a line, but be patient and itll move along quicker than you might think, usually 20-30 minutes or less. And the wait is worth it!!Portions and prices are spot on and everything is sooooo tasty!!*Pro tip* Pop over to Lava Java while youre in line for a delicious drink, nice to have while you wait and because you only get what you order from Kihei Cafe so dont expect coffee or other drink refills. They have good outside and inside tables, you order and then the Crew helps you select a table. No bathrooms, you have to use the public bathrooms at the outdoor plaza next door or the park across the street.Kiki menu is fun, our girls just loved their turtle shaped pancakes with chocolate chips!Cheese omelet with added meat and spinach was huge and filling, I had to help my Wife eat some of that and her potatoes and we still couldnt even finish it. I had the 2-2-2 with eggs, bacon and french toast and a mocha coffee, all delicious!Crew are all great and full of aloha!!!
Good: Chicken fried steak and biscuits and gravy. Bad: cheeseburger and fries. Not sure its worth the wait
Good food and classic spot, but they simply misinform you about the wait time and the wait is not worth it. On their website (screenshot attached to this review), they say If you come around 8-10 AM there will be a small line that moves very fast as this is our rush hour. Take some time to get to know your neighbor in line; don’t worry the peak line only lasts 15 minutes.Max wait of 15 minutes is a flatout lie. I timed the wait in line from my visit in May 2021... it took 58 minutes to reach the cashier and another 16 minutes to receive my food. Yes, the breakfast was good, but not worth 74 minutes just waiting for food.I came in May 2021 and informed the staff about this and they said they would change the language on the website. I waited until August 2021 to give them 3 months to change the website. As of now when I am writing this review, they continue to have this incorrect language on their website saying that the peak line only lasts 15 minutes.Anyway, check it out if you have an extra one hour to wait in line. Otherwise, try another spot. Also, Kihei Caffe Staff - please stick to your word and update the website to not mislead your customers.
Waited in line for about 20 minutes, line moved pretty quickly, they have a good system to keep it moving, you order and pay before being seated, then waited 21 minutes for food to come out, while waiting, did see others that were seated after me get their food before me, was a party of 1 so a bit surprised, esp considering my order was pretty simple, perhaps one off, but overall average, the food and service. Almost $30 for corned beef hash, 2 eggs, hash browns, and biscuit. 1 glass of strawberry lemonade was $7. Also did not love the asking for tip before being seated/served.
We went in the later afternoon around 12:30 so the wait wasn’t too bad. You wait in line to order THEN find yourself a table and they will call out your name and deliver your food. Definitely look at the menu beforehand so you are prepared!I ordered the macadamia nut and banana pancakes based on the reviews. They were good but the show stealer is definitely the coconut syrup as others have mentioned. However, if you’re hungry and good with savory, the moco loco is to die for! The gravy was everywhere and so good, the pork fried rice is worth the up charge and the pork patty was so tender it was literally falling apart. Absolutely delicious! The drinks were meh so if you don’t care I would stick with water. Also be prepared to see some roosters walk around and caw!
Excellent food! a quaint, local breakfast place that offers a wide variety of food and beverage options. fast, friendly service, with fair prices. well worth the wait, but the closer to open the better as the line gets long quickly
Kihei Caffe is always super busy. We went at about 6:30am and the wait was about a half hour long. Would recommend getting here early as the line only gets longer throughout the day. Also make sure to bring bug spray! Lots of flies and mosquitos while waiting in line if theres no breeze. As for the food, we got the Chicken Fried Steak (Supreme style, which adds gravy to the biscuit and swaps the home fries with fried rice) and the Pork Loco Moco. The gravy on the Steak was incredible, some of the best gravy Ive had. Everything else was good but not amazing.
Cute little caffe we ate at for breakfast on our honeymoon. The french toast was good, but the pineapple was from a can. I expected it to be fresh. It was still super yummy! The bacon was nice and think! My husband enjoyed his meal as well!
We got here around 6:30am (thanks, jetlag!) and there was already a wait to order. We ended up waiting around 15 minutes, but can say that it was well worth it. We had the moko pork bowl and the waffles with bananas and macadamia nuts and demolished both giant portions. Im already wondering how to fit another visit into our tight travel schedule.
Get here when they open! Otherwise, expect a long wait. Amazingly flavorful, delicious breakfast, huge portions, but equally huge prices. Two people eat for around $40.Super nice staff and cool island vibe, even though its right on a busy commuter road.We visited twice and will be back again. The picture is of the Catfish Breakfast and it was a fusion of flavors, crispy (fish and onion) vs fluffy (eggs and grits).Another time, we had a 2-2-2 (amazing) and Southern Bone-In Ham, Biscuit, Grits and Gravy (also delicious).
Ordered food to go- via phone (was put on hold and took a while to get someone on the line to actually order). Order took less than 15 min and pickup is literally at a small window on the side of the building; paid and was asked if I needed utensils. Loco Moco was delicious and hot (at at the park across the street); enough food for a snack later, could have used a bit more gravy as the last half of the rice was almost gravyless.
Kailua Pork Loco Moco is phenomenal! Dont let the line discourage you. It moves fast.
This was the first place we ate in Maui and it was great! I got the BST bagel, which was a nice light meal. To start the day before heading to the beach! And we got you food to go so we can eat by the water! The line moved very fast and everyone working there were very warm and friendly! Would definitely recommend!
Must stop for breakfast if you are in the area. The banana macadamia nut French toast was AMAZING! This is a popular place so be prepared for a bit of a wait to order and be seated. The line goes pretty quick so it’s definitely worth the wait. The staff works fast to get your order out to you! Top notch!
After a flight with a sub-par meal we were quite hungry! We looked up breakfast and tried several spots before finding that Kihei Caffe was still serving breakfast. The restaurant doesnt look like much but the food and service was excellent! My husband and I had had french toast. I had the strawberries and cream (a cream cheese mixture of heavenly goodness!). It was so delightful that I had to replicate it once I came home. It wasnt quite the same. As the afternoon heat began to beat down the host came over and rearranged the umbrella at our table. Such great attention to detail! We hope to come back to Maui and enjoy the great food and service this spot has to offer.
Don’t say you offer curbside on your google profile and then rudely tell someone you can’t order over the phone. That’s just not how you treat people. Fix your profile and make it clear on your website that your establishment doesn’t do phone orders for take out. Also be decent to people who call.
Best Food in Maui, Hands Down!!!This was our last meal before heading back home to Chicago. Im sad we didnt discover it sooner, but it was the perfect Aloha! The food was AMAZING! The customer service was was top notch! Our waitress Griselle was sweet and personable as was the owner Barry. He engaged in welcoming and relatable conversation.I love how he kept the standards of his restaurant. You must order first before seating. Unfortunately someone did not follow those rules and he kindly asked that she get up and in line to order and gave the table to the next customers who just completed their order. When I come across great service, great good ànd great standards, there is no question to leave a great recommendation. Kehei Caffe deserves more than 5 stars but that is all I can give. I HIGHLY recommend this spot! Thank you so much Barry for such a great experience!!! Many blessings to you, your team and your establishment !!!P.S. our food order: Chorizo Scramble, Cornedbeef Hash, Fried Catfish.
This place doesnt need any more good reviews, they are doing just fine. If you find yourself near Kihe looking for breakfast, this is the spot! Huge line? Dont worry. They can get you in and fed quickly but allow you to enjoy the abundance of good home cooking, pancakes, eggs bacon granola, you name it! Great staff is the icing on the pancake....or waffle!
I used to come Kihei Caffe every time I visit Maui because it has good reviews. Unfortunately, I’ll never be back after today’s visit for several reasons. First, their food quality got worse and taste not as good as before. If they want tourists keep coming to their restaurant, at least service should be good to compensate their so-so-foods (in my opinion), which is my second reason.I’d recommend my friends to go get foods from Foodland or local grocery store and eat on the beaches instead of coming to this kind of restaurant where offers low quality-high price items with horrible service (attitudes towards to tourists, but don’t realize tourists help their business) and expect to get tips for nothing.
Ill make it simple. If youre staying in Kihei, have breakfast here. Lots of tourists, and locals alike. Theyre open at 5:30 am, and with a three hour time difference for us, we were often there when they opened. We loved sitting outside for breakfast so early in the morning. Try it....
Food is average. We wanted syrup for our french toast but we were surprised that the server wasn’t friendly enough when we asked for the syrup. She sounded upset when she passed us over the spices set, then we realized what she passed us was ketchup and tabasco set, not the pancake/toast syrup even though I clearly said SYRUP for my french toast. I got what i needed eventually but it just didn’t come to me as a pleasant experience. View is nice though.
Surprisingly great pancakes! The loco Moco I had was pretty salty though but on the plus side our portions were huge! My sweet bread French toast didn’t taste like anything besides normal French toast.Pretty fast food service despite the long wait to order. The large portions are also great for sharing or leftovers later :)
Cute little cafe with decent local food.
Great food!Cinnamon rolls are my daughter’s favorite!Breakfast is amazing!
Lives up to its reputation. Excellent service from the moment you walk in the door, with a killer menu and wide variety of drinks. Prices are very reasonable especially considering the massive portions. I tried the special, a cajun shrimp omelette. My girlfriend ordered the, massive, breakfast burrito. On every detail the Kihei Caffe hits the mark, with the potatoes on the side cooked perfectly. If youre in the area do yourself a favor and eat here.
You know this place is good when there is a line around building at 8 am! Well worth the wait!Food was delicious and the staff was very efficient. We ordered the veggie omelet and banana macadamia waffles as well as a fruit smoothie. This was the best breakfast we have had while on our trip to Maui! Grabbed a coffee from across the street at Lava Java while we waited in line. Another great staple in Kihei!
If you come to Maui and dont get a Loco moco(available with corned beef!!) at either of the kihei caffe locations, you have done messed up! best breakfast on the island fa sho!
Don’t bother waiting in this line, the food was awful. Tourist trap, convenient location, and the hype from the reviews is what lured us here. The food is so bland!! It’s hard to mess up breakfast but they managed. $60 for breakfast for 2 people and there’s no table service either. Reviews may have led to higher expectations but never again.
This place had a line wrapped all the way around the corner and we got to it early in the morning. Food was very delicious for a great breakfast in Maui. Probably our favorite there. I would recommend ordering take out and just eating it across the park - looking over the beach. Was an amazing feeling!
