He was very friendly and had the most diverse card selection in the area!I believe its hands down the best place for Magic The Gathering cards. I think you could find almost anything in there and the figurine selection is great too. Definitely recommend and will be back!

Great place to pick up almost anything related to table top games, pen and paper RPGs card games Miniature games comics and Graphic novels or Paper/hardback books and codex or rule book.

Amazed at the selection and superior Assistance, A lot of wonderful comics. It was hard to take my eyes off the wonders there. But luckily my trip was worth it, hope to stop by again.

Great selection of cards, dice, figures, comics, tiles/Mats etc etc. Im am impressed and like this shop the most over the others Ive visited so far. The prices are reasonable. The customer service is spot on. And the shop can try to order in items on request. Im a painter and LOVED their large selection of figures to choose from (large, small, different game genres etc) no reason to order figures online physically sight unseen anymore since Im from gatesville, Ill be returning.

Been years since I’ve actually shopped here, came back a few weeks ago and the guy that helped me had a bit of an attitude, i purchased anyways, thinking maybe he was just in a bit of a mood, come back today and was going to buy another pack that I “had to switch” because I told the guy the one I was getting seemed heavier then the others, so what if it seems heavier then the others and that’s the reason I want to buy it? then after the associate went and switched it for another pack, I was then told in order to use card you gotta spend $5, which of course one pack of Pokémon is just under that. If you guys just diddnt want my business just tell me. I was going to become a loyal customer and buy all my Pokémon cards from here because when I was a kid this place was awesome. Next week I was going to come back and spend a minimum of $500 on a few boxes of the next Pokémon set, however because of the lack of customer service I will gladly order online and pay for shipping then give my business to a company that’s being ran down. Do not recommend this place anymore and will make sure I tell everyone I know now not to come to this place. If you guys have rules that you can’t buy the exact product you want then make a sign for it. Otherwise you can’t enforce it

Owner was a really cool, chill dude who knew what he was talking about and was happy to place a order for me despite having been in there for the first time. Several of my friends recommended it and I can see why now. The place has a wide selection of comic books, miniatures, RPG books, etc. It may be small but its packed to the gills with good stuff.

Really love this place. Will be back regularly. Went around to 4 or 5 game stores in the area. Book Stan was the only one I truelly enjoyed. I enjoyed it. I didnt just shop there I enjoyed being there. Helpful staff. Wide selection of ttrpg goods. Minis, dnd, warhammer etc. Wide selection of comic book stuff too but thats not my thing.

Love love love love this place!! It is helpful that the owner is patient and willing to explain to people to dont know about the particular comic book series or card game. He even lets you observe other games so you can get really involved! This is one of my favorite places to be on any given day of the week, prices are fair, the people who run and work the store are respectful and helpful and if Mr. Stan doesnt have it, he may be able to find it for you!

Not kid friendly. Took my son there to have his first experience at a comic store since he loves comics. The owner was like a shadow thinking he would damage everything and was a bit condescending and rude in my opinion. Every time my son pulled out something to look at, he would say in a condescending tone, just leave it out, if you cant put it back where you got it, while he was trying to put it back. Also, he hovered us while browsing and it made us uncomfortable. It wasnt a pleasant experience. We barely touched anything because we felt uncomfortable to read a comic in the store or look at the back cover. Also, his signs kept falling down and he was blaming us. Very unprofessional, we will not be returning. After, we went to Americas Heroes Comics & Games, and had a lovely experience there.

My personal experience at the Book Stan was pretty awesome. Stan has a wide knowledge base on collectibles and games, he is a nice and welcoming owner, and I highly recommend this place to any D&D or MTG players. Found Core 2021 packs at a cheaper price than Wal-Mart and Target which is nice for anyone wanting to try their hand at a quick MTG Booster Draft match.

Book Stan is amazing. Ive been going here since I was a child. The owner is very helpful and very friendly. They have the best selection of games and game supplies in the Killeen/Ft hood area. I will drive 45 minutes from Gatesville to go to this store. I would never buy from anywhere else because they make the experience worth it!

I moved down here a few years ago, I didnt know anyone and struggled deeply to make new friends. I always loved playing Magic the Gathering though and I assumed from how great my last store was that most communities would be the same. However, when I first started going to Book Stan I did not feel comfortable in the environment at all. Stan (the owner) was a nice guy, but he is not the people that I spent my time and money to come make friends and play with. The people that play FNM here seem to have a very tight-knit group and dont care too much for new people. After a few visits and trying to fit in, I lost the love for the game and ended up quitting for about a year or two until I found a new shop in the area that I enjoyed going to. The 1 star has nothing to do with the quality of the shop. Stan is a nice guy and he keeps his store clean and has a great collection of just about everything us nerds and geeks could want. However, if you are new to town or the game, I would not suggest this store simply based on the community of people that go there.

The owner Stan is a really nice guy. I walked around inside with my children and he was always eager to help any way he could. Prices are always reasonable. Great little locally owned shop, knowledgeable about different role playing games and lots of materials for game play. Nice comic book and card sets for games like Pokémon and Magic the Gathering selection too.

I go here to mostly play D&D. Stan is very nice, and has a wide selection of comics, trading cards, models, paint etc. He also sells movie premier tickets from time to time for DC and Marvel movies at the Copperas Cove Theater.

I go here for D&D unpainted miniatures, they have the biggest selection of minis in the Killeen area. I have not purchased anything else or played any games here. If you are looking for miniatures this is the best place in Killeen

They always have plenty of copies of the DC Black Label material as well as awesome collectibles that I love. The owner is always accommodating and nice. He makes me feel welcome and his prices dont hit you over the head.

I love this place. The owner is so sweet and helpful. He really cares about his work and his shop. Hes very informed and involved in the community and getting people together. You can always find little obscure things there and hes very decently priced.

The staff is always wonderful! There are magic the gathering tournaments every friday that are always fun. The selection of comics is always up to date and there is a wide variety!

So much to look at and see, the collection was very large and varied. Had a small table set up but still had a couple groups playing. Staff was friendly and quick to any questions.

The newest comics.He does commander on Thursday and FNM and some standard or draft of Saturdays. Best selection in killeen copperas cove and heights are. Store just a little small so it can be cramped. But the selection of items makes this my go to store.

This place is nothing to write home about. other stores of this kind are better. I never truly felt comfortable while I was inside. I sometimes I felt like was being ignored until I would said I was ready to pay. I feel the store is too small have game tournaments. they dont do pull list.

Great dealer, owner, and player. Very customer friendly and a great personal character. I just got here and already feel very comfortable doing business there, and going there with my son. Even when I asked dumb questions, I received great respect and courtesy. As a Magic player since it first came out, I hands down recommend this place for experienced and beginners in all things comic and collectible related.

I have been to this Comic shop multiple times, only because I think it somehow would be different from previous visits. I am met with good customer service. However I think this shop tends to be a bit over priced on their specialty comics. Comics that average a certain price on sites such as eBay are sometimes double that in the shop. The back issue portion of the shop is not very well organized. As polite as the employee is I feel like I am not being listened too when asking questions or seeing if he can provide certain things. Id rather go an hot and a half out of my way into Austin to visit another shop than to go back to a shop that has little selection of comics.

Cozy lil shop

My husband and I really enjoyed browsing through the store. Upon entering we were greeted by the owner. Once we told him we were new to the area he welcomed us and struck up a friendly conversation. Needless to say we left we a few board games and some stuff to aide us in our D&D gaming that we do. The owner was super informative and invited us out to the board game night and the D&D night. He even said our kids were welcome to play, which is something I have found too many comic book stores to embrace. We cant wait to go by and experience the gaming nights!

I have tried this store a few times over the 4 years I have lived in the area and every time I have gone into the store, I have hated it. The owner makes any new customers feel as though they are planning on stealing something by following them around the entire time they are in the store. I will it to them that they have a very good selection of comics, MtG and tabletop stuff however I am never able to enjoy the selection because I am being followed and watched intently the whole time I was looking at everything. I have had other friends of mine mention the same feeling.Another downfall of the store is that it has much less space than some of the other store around town. I would avoid at all costs if I were you.

I am a avid Magic The Gathering player, and the place is great. Stan (the owner) is a really cool guy, and the atmosphere is really friendly the prices for the stuff there is good as well (better than battlefield Games) and I will definitely go there for my Friday night magic needs.

The owner Terry is so awesome. This place has HANDS DOWN the best customer service Ive ever encountered. Terry always tries to help you out anyway he can. He has been in the business for over 30 yrs and is VERY knowledgeable! Also hes good to BS with & talk comics. He has spoiled me, sadly I will be moving from Copperas Cove. Hope they have a great comic store like Terrys wherever I end up. Do yourself a favor, if youre a comic lover go see Terry. (And by the way that 2 star rating is a fake review...trust me its a total lie.)

Ive looked at some of the bad reviews and they are completely unlike my visit to the store. When I came in I was greeted and asked if there was anything I needed help with, and when I said I was browsing, the owner left me to my devices and talked to another customer. When I asked about some of the MTG singles I was looking for, he knew right off the top of his head where they were, if he had them, and what else I might be interested in that was similar. As I was buying the cards for a friend who uses a deck Im not familiar with, it was great to have his advice, and my friend was ecstatic when I showed him his new cards. The owner was quite friendly and talkative, but not overly so to where it would be annoying. As this was my first visit to a comic book/geek supply store I was pretty pleased, and Ill return in the future. And with due respect to the one star review I saw, considering the fact that some of these cards are worth well over $70, I do think its unreasonable for the owner to monitor customers, though he most certainly didnt follow me around

Ive been a customer at Book Stan for a little over a year semi-regularly and lately very often. Since I started playing Warhammer 40k Ive been going there more frequently and Book Stan has everything I need. If I want to substitute a model or do a conversion I can always find what I need because of the wide selection of miniatures and various tools. Customer service is great. Wish there were wargaming tables but all in all I highly recommend this store.
