We received good customer care from Hunter. The explanation of various guitars and associated amps was very helpful when determining our selection. Hunter played several guitars for us, enabling us to hear more from the guitar and our own ability currently allows. While I understood the role of the amplifier, I was not familiar with the different types. To achieve the sound we wanted, we selected a modeling amp, and the nominal bump in price was determined to be a good investment to meet current and future aspirations. The staff was very helpful, and we receive a good experience from each employee who offered to help us.

Spent a fair amount of time here over the past 5 days. Lots of trade-in, buying a guitar, returning a guitar, and finally, ordering a different one. Stock is very light but to be fair, its a relatively small store. Still light, though, with only a few high-end options to choose from as far as electric and acoustic guitars. Sure, they can order whatever for you, but you have to personally order it in full, and you have to wait for it arrive. Small inconvenience, yeah, but regardless, itd be nice to be able to test some higher end stuff.Employees were helpful throughout the process, and pretty knowledgeable about the stuff I was dealing with. I didnt really feel that at any point an employee offered to help me pin down what I was looking for, I was kind of just told where the stuff was and left to my own devices. Doesnt matter so much to me, personally, because Ive been playing a long time and know what Im looking for but my feedback is coming from a point of empathy to someone completely new to music. Id hate for someone to potentially lose motivation to pick up an instrument at all because theyre overwhelmed with choice and could use a guiding hand. I think conversations with the customers about what theyre trying to do, what they need, budget, etc. would go a long way. Other than that, decent store, especially for the area.

Regardless of some of that employees being very young theyre still respectful and dont pretend to know something about their product that they dont know very courteous not all of them you pick your poison I guess still not good prices after the scare of bankruptcy

Very welcoming environment and chill attitudes across the board. Employees answered every question I had and were very polite and relaxed. They have tons of inventory and dont mind grabbing a guitar off the top shelf for you. They have an e-drum kit on the floor that you can test out, and I think that is a really nice plus. I honestly dont have anything negative to say about this place at all it was a really great experience.

Ive never played an instrument before but wanted to try so I came to the best and got an electric guitar. They helped me understand how it operates, they tuned the strings for me. Showed me how to maintain equipment. Made me feel very well informed about my purchase definitely will come back for more purchases when I want to try something else for an instrument.

I went here to look for a keyboard for my 10 year old. The lady who helped me was very knowledgeable and helpful. She listened to my concerns and gave me options that would be helpful for him. She didnt try to push me into buying a super expensive keyboard or the super expensive electric piano. The reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because it took a while to get any help.

I was surprise to see what they had on stock. It blows my mind I almost went crazy cause of that. They have everything when it comes to where to buy instruments! Jose needs to understand the mask policy currently in Texas. The mask order was lifted on Wednesday and it is now at the guest discretion. He interrupted my guitar purchase to rudely have my husband and myself leave the building. Not only did you lose a sale, you lost two return customers. He needs to learn manners, professionalism and how to speak to customers/guests.

I witnessed an employee by the name of Jose treat a woman poorly as he had her leave the store for not wearing a mask. (The mask mandate has been lifted in the State of Texas as of last Wednesday.) She asked if she could speak to his manager regarding his behavior, to which he laughed and stated I am the boss. I would like to believe this is NOT a company policy to mistreat customers. Such a demeaning and disrespectful attitude should not be condoned.This associate should be trained and demoted if he is indeed a manager.The store was a disaster and the staff is rude and unprofessional. Pathetic.I will not be returning.

In my opinion, Guitar Center saw better days back in the early 2000s. I play piano and I could never find good keyboards, particularly on this branch. Every one of them seem to be budget ones, and Yamaha is the best they offer. Their Roland section is completely empty. I went not too long ago looking for a simple FP series or even a Nord keyboard and I had to order it in order to test it. It might not be their fault (politics with Roland) but if they are attracting serious musicians they should have congruent product. Aside from that, the facility is a bit small and if I had Sam Ash (California competitor) in Killeen I would rather go there. I know stores like this could do something about it, since online shopping is cannibalizing local stores, but theres something about being able to feel and listen to an instrument that online sales cannot provide. Even Best Buy understands this and theyre still on business while everybody else is gone. Cmon Guitar Center! You are the oldest player. You can do it!

This store is a musicians dream! Its also clean and the employees rock. Strict mask enforcement also and accessible to wheelchairs. Everybody will find something to like there.

Ive been to this store on multiple occasions. Always a pleasant experience with knowledgeable staff. They have also gone the extra mile to keep myself and my kids safe. They continue to enforce mask safety even though state doesnt mandate it. I think its a brilliant decision as most of these people running around without masks havent even received their shots. Now im sure not everyone is on board with this idea but its a step to lessen the impact COVID has on the local population. Way to go.

Its always fun to go there and ask a question and they have no idea of the product youre talking about, you show them is on the GC web page and they go: oh! Most be new... good guitar gallery for beginners and intermediate players.

Thankfully Im moving away from this town, and wont ever have to deal with this store again. The guitar tech scratched my Martin when I first bought it, but I dont have any way to prove that. Theyve locked up most of their inventory in the acoustic room, making it pretty inconvenient to play anything of value. It seems that all you need to do to get hired there is know how to play a G chord, and know maybe 3 guitar brands. I shouldnt have to explain to an employee how a popular guitar humidifier works.

Drove 45 minutes after work today to get to the store, my daughter and I walk in and a guy pops out from the side and starts saying we have to have a mask on. Well I dont have one and there is no one else in the store, told him just need answer of strings. He said not with out a mask, then when I pointed out no one was there he said oh yeah I closed a minute ago. You can come back tomorrow at 12. Nah cupcake, I wont ever go back to that store. All the cool people that used to work there are gone. Service has sucked the last couple times in there. This was the last time.

I like visiting this store. I bought my son a 5 piece Rogue drum set and it was a very smooth transaction. They actually price matched it and got me a great deal! And the drum guy was very helpful at that time. Pretty much most of them are helpful.. and also what I like about this store is they kind of leave you alone after they asked you if you need any help and you said no youre just looking around. Im actually one of those shoppers that goes to a store without knowing what I wanna buy so I appreciate that they let you walk around the store without bothering you or tailing you around unlike the other store that keeps their eyes on you the whole time like youre trying to steal something so it makes the store hunting kind of uncomfortable.Keep it up guys!

Bought new Akai MPK249:because they where on sale.. the shipped me a used one upside down, screws raddleing around inside keyboard and keys are all scuffed up. Should have just got a refurbished one for 199

A man by the name James or John I believe who works there recommended some guitar equipment such as Capo, Tuner and and new guitar strings after purchasing a Rogue Acoustic for $80 great deal-! Especially for a beginner. Welcoming and attentive also very Informative and helpful and not ripping me off on some cheap knock off sales. Definitely coming back since I can count on a guitar guru enthusiast.

This place is def. for the music person in your life. The sales guys in the store were knowledgeable and friendly. They let you play the instruments in store. The prices are some what reasonable, but it is top shelf stuff and a really cool store. Musicians should come and shop here for all sorts of good and cool stuff in here!

Super nice. Clean. Helpful. Needed a ukulele case and was helped right away. I was sold on the nice case and it was on sale too! I liked the fact that the guy who helped me asked me several times if that was the right sized case (which by the way it was a perfect size). Two thumbs up.

I did not have a good experience. The sale rep. Was disrespectful I had to keep my distance from him. He became hostile when I stated I had store credit. He wanted all kind of id in a hostile manner. I never had that problem ever at the other guitar centers I visited. When i asked to speak to the manager he refused to speak to me the customer but to him only. Almost Everyone left the floor to attend to the baby. I would never do business with them unless he is no longer employed there. I called another guitar center in Austin who were willing to help and apologize for that store behaviors. I feel people such as him think America is only for them well its not.

Good sales service, but they would not setup my new Taylor, said it was to factory specs and they would not do anything outside of that. Set it up myself though.

The last visit, we needed a certain size set of drum sticks. The manager went out of his way to search ALL of his inventory until he found the correct size! He went above and beyond and gave such great service!

Very knowledgeable staff that was friendly and helpful. Was impressed that they were child friendly. Hard to find a good staff like this in Killeen. Will definitely have my business in the future. Every person I had an interaction with treated me great. The guitar tech was very knowledgeable and was able to point me in the right direction for help with my Bass guitar outside of Guitar Center.

The clerks are very knowledgeable about the products, helpful and friendly as well. I have purchased several items from them on several occasions and once had to make a return; each encounter has been easy and courteous. I will continue shopping with them in the future.
