I took my 2021 Kia K5 for just an oil change a couple weeks ago. I moved to Florida the following day and drove continuously until I arrived. I realized after I was down in Florida for a bit that my car was leaking oil on my driveway. I checked the oil drain plug and it was barely on and not tightened. My car was almost completely out of oil when I checked. I drove over a thousand miles to Florida with oil leaking out of the drain plug. I feel very disappointed and embarrassed.

So we told them to just change the oil. After we took the van to the dealership to get reinspected. Turns out my shocks where fine and my breaks are good for another 8 months. They also never reset the oil gage after the oil change. This is unexceptable. Ill never take any of my cars here ever again. Ill also make sure no one I know does too. Decent guys working there but they will upsell you. They do a pretty thorough inspection which is nice if you have all day, but the prices are insanely high for any recommended work. The work they recommended was legit (aside from my cabin air filter which was new), just pricey. They missed the fact that my rear drum brakes need to get done though. They quoted front disc brakes, battery, marker light bulb plus air filters for $800. Overheard a guy get quoted $700+ for an alternator.I just wanted an oil change, which I scheduled beforehand. It took an hour and 20 minutes from my scheduled time to get it all done. There are much better shops around; I just had a coupon and they were open on Sunday. I still had extra fees! I feel bad because I’m sure they’re under corporate pressure to push products and services constantly, but ultimately that erodes consumer trust. Don’t be fooled by brand names. Go to a mom and pop.Bottom line: won’t be coming back.Edit: Actually, I don’t feel unreasonable for calling them frauds now. They told me my front brakes were almost shot with 2mm remaining. Not true, my neighbor mechanic said there was more than half of the life left and I passed inspection without any mention of issues.

The serpentine belt on our Aveo broke and had to stop at a tree place and they pointed up in the direction of Tires Plus. Tires Plus said they could get the belt but would have to wait till tomorrow BUT!! They also said it would be 225 dollars and could cost up to 440 dollars because they had to dismantle parts of the car. First off, Im an X mechanic and said come on, youre replacing a belt!! So, we noticed the MIDAS MUFFLER 2 doors down. They did the belt and I had them put on a new pump belt right away. They did. They sent for the belts once they got them, it was in and out. The Manager was very friendly and we had some good mechanic chats while waiting. Hopped in the car and drove off. We figured since it was a chain store it would cost a bit more than our regular shop but $ $190.00 was a heck of a lot better than 440$?? Great service, friendly atmosphere! Even the other customers were friendly. Good job, we made it back to reading which was a heck of a lot better than waiting for a tow truck and paying that expense back home plus having to call someone to come pick us up!Thanks guys....and it was almost closing time but they got us in!

On Tuesday, July 7th, 2020 I needed an oil change. I called, and was quoted $80 for oil change. Spoke on the phone with Chris.I arrived half an hour later. I was told that the wait would take no more than one hour. During the registration process, I noticed that I was quoted the highest possible grade of oil. I requested to change it to mid-level, which was done: high mileage as opposed to performance, for $60 or so.45 minutes later Chris come back, with the up sales tactics. He pulled out air filter and cabin filter, and told me a light bulb for license plate if out. He also quoted replacement of struts...Without the struts, the work amounted to $162.I agreed to light bulb because of safety. I agreed to replacement of the air filter and air cabin filter out of respect to Chris, because he already pulled it out and I didnt feel like having me put it back.75 minutes after the my arrival I was told the car is ready. I said my goodbyes, but decided to check couple things before I leave.A I checked the light bulb, aI discovered that the housing was loose. I called Chris, he said he is sorry and taped it in using electrical tape.I said goodbye and left. However, I realized that check engine light, tow light, and traction control lights were displayed. I called Chris, he apologized, popped the trunk, and attached the housing, leading to the air filter. He told me it is now OK. I attempted to drive, but the lights didnt go away. He brought the car back into the stall, ran the codes and reset the codes.I said my goodbyes, and left. As I opened the glove box compartment, the box fell off. At which point I called Chris. He apologized, fixed the handle arm, supporting the tray, which he forgot to put.Prior to saying goodbye, I asked him whether the car is safe to drive, since all three things that he touched required my personal intervention to correct. He said it is fine, because he did not take my car apart. And hes just having a bad day.To summarize: I do appreciate taking my car in on a short notice. But that where the kudos end. All things considered, it is a remarkably poor service, which includes upsale and plain negligence. Without getting deep into root causes, it appears that the staff is overworked and / or negligent. I hope the management takes adequate measures, and the markets invisible hand will speak for itself.

If I could give no stars that’s what the rating would be.... This is a horrible place... I took my car for the 60,000 mile service back from n July... they gave me a quote for $542 (maybe a little off)... I dropped my car off while at work I was called and told I need new brakes because mine were terrible and that I shouldn’t try to drive off the premises with them because they are that bad... I even told the tech I didn’t hear any grinding or feel the brakes sticking.... he insisted they need to be done... I asked the total price for everything and he said with a special manager discounted not that he would give me it would cost a little over $800... I got back there to pick my car up only to be told they couldn’t do the transmission flush because they order the wrong oil... and that they quoted me the wrong price because the oil that is needed is much lore expensive then what was quoted... then they presented me with the bill and it was over $800... I asked how could that be if they did it do the transmission they said it was for the brakes... then I went back and forth with Andrew and he even spoke with Josh the Tech who worked on my car... he then finally agreed that when I bring my car back for the transmission to be done they will do it for $340 plus tax.. for all of the inconvenience I experienced and the misquotes and misunderstanding... He put. The amount on a card signed it and put transmission service on it.... I went today for them to do it and was told they would not honor it because it’s below the price that the service suppose to cost... The Regional Manager even threaten to call the police on me if I did not get out his store after I started failing the 800 number for customer service... he even said it didn’t matter abt calling customer service because he is the Regional Manager and he has final say.... these people are horrible and unscrupulous... and apparently there is a racket when it comes to them saying you need brakes... look at some of the other comments and you will see they experienced the same thing... I am waiting for Corporate to call me back...

I was out of town for the weekend and unfortunately broke down in the KOP area. It was a weekend, and open/available repair shop options were very limited. My AAA tow driver recommended me to Midas, and I was lucky enough to be seen/repaired right away. Thank you for that. The compressor in my 2001 mustang had blown, seizing the A/C pulley with it. When I started my car, the resulting tension from the seized pulley, tore my serpentine belt in half. This meant no power steering, alternator, water pump, A/C, etc. Bad news.Midas quickly diagnosed the issue, replaced my compressor and belt, and subsequently recharged my A/C system. I was happy with the work they did on these parts. It was an emergency repair, and a franchise store, so the cost was far more than it needed to be, but I was lucky to get in and out as I did. For that, Im thankful. The next part is not particularly Midas fault, but is at the least an oversight in the repair job they performed. As I drove back to Baltimore, I began to experience drastic voltage drops from my battery upon letting off the gas. Right away, this is a clear problem with either the alternator providing charge to the battery, or the battery holding a charge at all. Unfortunately, this meant I that I eventually broke down AGAIN on my drive home, as when I came to a complete stop in traffic, I had no option but to pull over and let my car die. Now, I will forfeit that Im not a mechanic myself, but I am an engineer and have an extensive education on automobiles/combustion engines, and have performed many of my own repairs in the past.Technically speaking, the alternator/battery had nothing to do with the actual repairs they performed on the compressor, however, there were no such voltage drop issues before the repair. In my world as an engineer, due to the fact that the alternator is driven on the same serpentine belt loop as the compressor, a thorough repair would include an operations check on all subsequent systems. Perhaps in a mechanics world, this is above and beyond, but if I were a lesser-informed individual in this situation, I would have surely assumed that my resulting break down was a consequence of faulty repairs.A simple load-on/voltage reading of the battery across the alternator would have deduced that my car wasnt suited for driving. Upon my own measurements, my battery only had about 11v across it, and far less when loads like lights, radio, and A/C were applied (around 7v actually).Luckily, I was close enough to home that I could buy a new alternator and battery and replace them myself, but for this reason I cant give a full five-star rating. The manager, Jim, and his mechanics were informative, pleasant, and friendly, and the shop was in good shape.Again, thank you for the quick and convenient service, but please be more thorough for all of customers in the future.

I did not feel the price was right so took the car to Pep boys to re-do the inspection- they said the brakes were fine and would be okay for another year or so. The car passed the inspection. Not only do I fee Midas was deceitful regarding inspection, their price was also much higher than other mechanics for break replacement. Pep boys quoted front breaks and rotors at $600 as compared to the $1,100 at Midas. When I called to discuss this with manager, he was very disrespectful. Will never be going back to Midas.

Absolutely unprofessional mechanic. Thinks, him raising voice against the customer is going to let him fly and make him look super cool.If you are the owner responding here, why dont you spend more time training your employee than responding to reviews. If you had good service inside, you wouldnt have to spend so much time on the internet responding to reviews.Long story short, the inspection special price is a joke. You will still end up paying close to $45 including all taxes and fee and 4 customers before me left unhappy because they were trying to upsell a bunch of services to them. So $45 inspection, no issues all year and you go to midas, you need $1500 in parts and services. I have more to say but will talk about it on my channel .

Selected a tire from their website and requested an appointment to purchase and install. Site said I would get a call within 30 business minutes. I got a call about 16 hours later. The call was to tell me they don’t have those tires, nor can they get them. I asked to find something comparable. I was told I’d get a call back with comparable tires. I never got a call. CJ’s Tires got my business. This place doesn’t want you as a customer.

First and foremost, thank you KOP Midas! I was experiencing issues with my tires and the team at KOP Midas was able to repair my tire and also check all others within about 1 hour. Not only did they repair my tire, but they took the time to explain to me how tire air pressure works and “do’s and dont’s”. I am extremely grateful for you all and your service! I will most definitely visit again for my auto needs. Thank you and Happy Holidays!

Stay away. I came in for an inspection. They suggested replacing shoes and drums that had passed inspection. They failed me for a pinhole leak in my otherwise new exhaust. It seems theyre just looking for work to do. When they put the wheel covers back on, they didnt even line them up with the tire valve, so I had to remove them just to uncap the valves later.

I have had my Nissan truck serviced here, they follow manufacturer recommended services to keep my warranty intact. The mechanics are very knowledgeable in finding a small leak in my windshield that was repaired under warranty.

Jim noticed I didnt have state inspection stickers on my windshield, because I got my windshield replaced a while ago, and told me I could get fined for this. I was surprised when I got to my car he did not put them up...probably because I declined to do other business with them. Thanks Jim, you sure won a customer in the future! Catch my sarcasm.

I couldnt have worse things to say about my experience here. I booked my appointment online for an oil change and state inspection between 730-930 am. When you book it says they will contact you within the hour to confirm the booking. 4 hours after booking, they still had not confirmed so I called them, discussed that i wanted an oil change and inspection. the gentleman on the phone confirmed this was all set and told me to drop the car off the night before so they could get to it first thing. the next day at 1030 I went to pick the car up and they still hadnt even touched the car. with barely an apology they said i was next so to kill time i went to a store next door. i get a call about 15 minutes later asking where my lock is for the wheels which was easily visable in the car. finally at 1130 I go back to collect the car, no oil change was done and i had an extra bill for $10 for a three second phone call. I will never again give this company my business.

One of the few places that were open on Sunday, during Labor Day weekend. Brought in a used car I just purchased that was over heating. Justin and his staff were awesome. Since they knew I was traveling, they jumped right on it and spent as much time that was needed to narrow down the issue. Even though it was bad news, it was obvious they were honest and gave me clear options.I was then able to take that detail back to the dealer I purchased the car from. The dealer was able to confirm the diagnosis and agreed to buy the car back. Without the detailed diagnosis Justin was able to provide, my bad weekend would have been much worse.

Just took my wifes Honda Civic in for an inspection. They called saying we needed our front brakes repaired and the rotors changed. As someone whos brakes have gone out on the road before, I dont mess around with them. When we went to pick up and pay they said it was $1059! Outrageous! They didnt replace just the front brakes but the rear brakes as well. We never gave them permission to do so and when we called them out on it all they said was, we told you about the rear brakes. There is no way that both of our brakes were going to go fail and not pass inspection. Completely and utterly SCAMMED US and RIPPED US OFF! Never ever using Midas again. They dont care about you at all and all they want is to take your money.

No courtesy + overpricedI went there to repair a damage. I asked why they thought this damage had happened to my car and heard back: We dont do research on why things happen to your car.and was charged almost $100 to top off fluid, half of which labor, for a one-minute job.overcharging is one thing, being rude to a customer who is paying for your service is something additional!

Ima start off by Saying i was forced to change my review 9 months ago from jim no im not scard of no man i just didn’t want something spiteful done to my car so i did.I been to this midas 7+ time get got tooken advantage of for over $3,000 for a problem they never fixed. I had a problem with my car swerving when i break they told me it was my front tires them told me it was my right control arm (they was close to fixing the problem) but could not figure it out. When they did the right control arm i asked was it depending on the left (like do it need to be replaced to ) the first time i ever heard them say my car didn’t need something! They told me my car needed full around suspension job quoted me about $1600 at this point they told me it would 100% fix the problem and it didn’t I never felt so tooken advance of in my life last but not least i came back one more time because I figured i just spend $2400+ On this car they can’t be nothing that more expensive to fix it when i went back to midas the manager jim (dm manager ) this the world evolves around him i never met a white guy this tuff in my life so he all ready kept a attitude because I wrote a review while i was in the store (He asks like a child! With his lil temper tantrums 😂🍼)but the last time i been here jim looked me in my eyes 👀 and told me the only thing it could be is the brake caliper i was like yes it should be a easy fix when he was done showed me a papped that said $480 when the mechanic pulled my car infront of the store i asked is the swerving fixed he said not really i told jim I wasn’t paying for that and this is were jim had another tantrum trying not to gave me my car keys so i payed and never came back so i took my car to a mom and pop shop called deleo’s auto sale in Norristown the most honest mechanics around told me i that my car need a left stut and control arm and quoted me 260 to fix it lets just say my car never drove so straight and drives perfect i never been back to that midas. I called the number that they had as corporate to try to get a refund on at least the caliber they person on the other side of the phone just really didn’t care about anything i had to say! This company have no corporate structure!!!!!!! I will never be returning so yea guy you can see how i can say its a scam ! Also google midas scams

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-------------------------my worst car service experience . I visited the shop in May 2018 when I was new to the area to get my state inspection done. It was good experience and there was a minor note on tire threads but that was on acceptable limits so the inspection passed and I was very happy for the service .With the same confidence I went in April 2019 for the state inspection renewal . The inspection was done and there were lot of observations and it was all just to get extra money . The guy at the counter said my tires thread are bad and they advised to change but i said No and then he added I could face an accident on highway . He then said Car battery is very poor it could just be a matter of days it would last, i said no . The price they quoted was $150 where in costco gives for $80 . AC filter needs to be changed i said No . He then said windshield wipers have to be changed to pass inspection i said ok . They get spares from NAPA when i reached home and checked the bill i was charged $40 for 1 pair wipers but NAPA online says $9 and even walmart has for $10 .After a week i went back stating i get a sound from Wipers that they changed he did not even mind to check he said i need to get an appointment and i would be charged an amount of $150 for service fee and additional cost for motor . I said Thanks and left .I took my car for service at Honda and they said the Car is all good and just did an Oil change. I took it to Auto Zone and got the battery inspected they said it is in Good condition .Better to Say No, never i will visit Midas at any location.

This is a great location. The shop manager Mike is very personable and will always check for any coupons/discounts that the company is running. I used to have an older Audi that was falling apart and always received good quality prompt service and very fair pricing here. When a lot of work was needed, they always showed me exactly what they needed to do and why. When it was time for me to get a new car, they gave me advice on easy maintenance makes/models to consider and even took a look at the car to make sure I was getting a fair deal. Highly recommmend if you are in the KOP area!

I got into an accident on Sunday May 27th the worst day because of the holiday and it was a Sunday. Hardly any garage was opened that day. Therefore I took my car to the closes place from my accident, which was Midas. I took my car there in confidence hoping that they would fix my car. Well they did not Take Care of Everything like their slogan says. When I drove it off the lot while hitting the accelerator my car shakes.I took my car to a trusted Garage to see what the problem was. He told me that It wobbled while driving, that it makes noise and wobbled when accelerating. That the previous repair that MIDAS did when they put the LF inner CV joint damage with Excessive play. The CV joint is the bent axial. The guy I trust thinks Midis did not road test my car to feel the wobble after they put it back together. He recommended that it needed an RF turn socket which Midis should have caught when they had the car apart. So I took it back hoping Midas would fix the problem. They look at my car and told me that the axial was bent. Hello!? it was bent during the accident. Why didnt your certified technicians catch this while they had the tire off and apart. The corporate manager told me that the axial got bent after they fixed it and I drove it off the Midas lot. Yeah right, that is a load of BS. They would not fix my car or even work something out with me. The corporate manager told his people to back it out of the garage and told me to have a nice day. Now my car is unsafe to drive because of the wobble and the bad job Midas did to fix my car.DONT WAIST YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY AT MIDAS Even if it is convenient and you need your car fixed. These guys are a bunch of idiots and jerks. They are not out for customer satisfaction and their well being. They have no integrity and cant admit that they made a mistake. They are out to make money off of a person in need of their car fixed because it is convenient. DONT LET THEM TOUCH YOUR CAR! They cannot be trusted to handle your precious car! I am not giving the Midas hand a High-Five and neither should you.

My sister and I have been going on 4 years with Midas KOP. So far I’ve had normal business with them but today I brought my new car in with damage from running over a deer that was dead in the road. They had my car fixed and ready for me same day. And CLEANED OUT the mess stuck to the undercarriage. That was literally what put my opinion about the shop on the inter web. They ROCK for dealing with the mess and having timely service. They drove me home when I dropped it off. I’ve had very pleasant service with them.
