I was disappointed with the class because I expected it to be more hands on. I participated in the french macaroons class, and as much as I appreciated seeing how they are made, I would have liked to been able to do more with the cooking. The chief was well experienced and was a bit controlling when it came to letting me place my ingredients in. I even asked many times to let me place the items in or even turn the mixer on however she explained that she liked to do it. I understand the chief likes to do it, but me paying for the class I expect to do it myself. Within the class there was two half hour breaks. Once we returned with the second break the chief had already started making the filling for the macaroons for everyone. I asked as to why we couldnt make it ourselves, and she explained that there wouldnt have been enough time and that it would have been too much of a clean up with more bowls. Being very upset, I feel that we shouldnt have had all that time for break then. It was not needed, and we could have participated in making the filling ourselves. Finally it was very frustrating that during the second half of the class, two other chiefs were preparing for the evening class, making me unable to hear her explain what she is doing. This class can be fun if improvements were made.

Had a baking emergency- checked online, this store had what I needed in stock. I learned something too: I needed a digital thermometer (cause of emergency: oven was too hot). Staff are friendly; theyre not cooking snobs! Go ahead, ask questions! Theres no shaming here. Classes offered too.

Great experience at Sur La Table. We took the Pasta at Home class and learned some great techniques including two different types of pastas. The difficulty of the second pasta was advanced and we were still able to come out with a delicious product. My only critique is I wish you could do this is teams of 2, this would make it better and easier for date nights. With that being said still worth taking a cool class here.

Terrible Customer Service - I ordered a Boos cutting board for a Christmas gift on December 5th. Each time I called they would tell me it is being processed and it will be shipped in another week. After multiple calls and receiving the same generic answer I asked twice to speak to customer service management or to have them call me, they never did. The company never once reached out to update the item status, offer another replacement item or even to apologize. Once we missed Christmas I tried to cancel the item, but because it was with an outside vendor, they wouldnt let me cancel the order either. I finally called Boos company directly and they had no record or PO# of any order. So today on Feb 5th, 2 months to the day, they cancel my order saying the product is no longer available. Amazing.

🥃If you’re the type of person who not only enjoys a glass of brown and a delicious meal, but also wants to be educated on why you’re enjoying a particular pairing, then Hennessy Cognac’s Le Voyage X Sur La Table is for you‼️ I had an amazing time learning about the art of making cognac and crafting classic Hennessy cocktails. Special thanks to @hennessyus @hennessyus for the lovely experience and @surlatable for the exclusive hands-on experience, as we discovered the nuances of pairing seasonal produce with the finest cognac. Thanks for having me!@youbeeverywheretravelagency

Never order online from this store. I ordered something more than two weeks ago and it hasn’t shipped yet - I tried to cancel the order but they are not letting me do so, stating that I need to wait to receive the order, then return it within 60 days of my order date (which will most presumably be impossible if it hasn’t even shipped yet), and pay for shipping!! I have never dealt with a company that is so disorganized - there is nothing “high-end” about this company or its customer service.

I am very sorry that I placed an order via Sur La Tables website. They have been terrible at processing that order. They do not advise via their website that it takes their warehouse at least 7 days to locate the item on their shelves. And their customer service is less than helpful.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. I’m very frustrated and disappointed at the lack of communication from sur la table. I ordered a gourmet advent calendar on October 31. I waited 3 weeks for any sort of confirmation from them that my order was processed and that was after contacting customer. They informed me that the order is coming from an independent vendor and they will contact them and let me know more info once they hear back. Well I still have not heard back. I got a shipping notification email 4 days ago saying my order shipped. Great! Maybe it will arrive before December 1st seeing as that’s the point.... but when I check the tracking it pulls up an error message saying there is no tracking data affiliated with my tracking number. Well, I’m waiting for my email to customer support to be answered, my card was still charged, my package is in limbo somewhere, and my excited ramp up to Christmas has likely been ruined. Hats off to sur la table for abysmal customer service!

Nicely designed store (King of Prussia, PA) with some good deals. They absolutely stand by their products. We had a molcajete delivered with a slight (cosmetic) defect that created a slightly sharp edge. A new was immediately sent to us and we were told to keep the original.

We were excited to take a date night and take a cooking class with our friends. We have taken a different class before about a year ago and it was a lot of fun, very interactive and learning process.Well we understand its a pandemic but some things can be avoided. We got into class and all of the stuff was mise en placed for us. We were disappointed by the way it was presented to us. The chef was knowledgeable but not very fun or interactive. I expected we would at least cut our own onions and it was already done for us. She demoed how to make chocolate pudding budino, okay. We could have done it too- easy one pot bring to boil- whisk in chocolate dessert.Brocollini- we got about 6 pieces to share with my husband and we browned by using skillet and chefs finished it in the ovenSteak- portions are very small, I mean I get it its the class but we also paid over $150 for it. we also seared the steak which was finished in the oven, Risotto- I get it risotto takes time to make but we also could have done our own risotto.Using all clad pots which she could advertise at least a little. After all was served to us- it did look good and taste good but it was not fun. The last drop I had is when we wanted to sit down to eat- there were no chairs provided and chef made such a big deal about it that they are all tied up and they would have to clean them after each class and its a pandemic etc etc.As a chef I can stand for 8-12 hours a day and be okay but for people who are not used to it.At least we could have sit down to eat our meal. Very disappointing. I was excited to take a class and it ended up a waste of money, no hands on experience at all.In the end they give you a coupon to use in store- we did not even want to buy anything after this.

Melissa is amazing. Originally came for a knife sharpening with the idea of potentially buying a new knife. She was extremely happy to assist and clearly knew what she was talking about. Melissa was able to answer every question I had and did not make me feel pressured to buy anything. If you’re looking for an enjoyable experience I recommend asking for her! Will definitely be back if I have any questions!!

Make sure to book your next class before you leave because you will want to come back! Also the store is great because if you love cooking you can find all kinds of must haves for you kitchen before or after class.

Browsed here and had the (not so uncommon, it seems) experience with playing with a demo espresso machine only to get yelled at. Sorry not sorry if you load something on DEMO with coffee and dont put out any signs!!Also took a cooking class here. Its mainly designed to get you to buy their expensive stuff and you wont be able to make what they teach you without it. If your objective is a fun night, great (but bring friends for a group of 4 so youre not stick with randos!) but if you want to actually take something away and be able to use it - this is NOT the venue/place. Chef also had no desire to actually teach and multiple times just grabbed something out of my hands, doing it for me. Wont be back.

This store is located inside KOP mall so it’s very convenient to visit and to shop. I have to admit this place has almost everything that I had compared with couple stores in Paris, France or in Southern of France, Marseille. It contains some ceramic from Italy, from France, some coffee machines from Italy. It also have cooking class which is very interesting to learn. However, compare their prices is little high with Macy or other dept. stores.

I Setup a cooking class for 2 after a relatively good experience the first time for a total of $70. Unfortunately I got sick the morning of my appt. when I called hoping to reschedule, they told me that it was not an option and there will be no refunds. I completely understand charging a rescheduling fee due to the food they had to purchase for the class however there was no such option. So make sure you will have no emergencies that day if you plan on making an appt as you will lose your money.

This company sucks. Do not purchase from them. I purchased a spatula around thanksgiving time. Says it is dishwasher safe and this is what happened when I took it out. I spoke to Jess today to get it replaced and she wouldnt replace it. She said I needed a receipt. Who keeps a receipt for a $10 item? A simple kitchen tool. They do not stand by their products. You have been warned. Go to Williams Sonoma/Crate and Barrel, these companies do.

The store is nicely laid out, but the service can be atrocious. I was interested in an espresso mach8ne and wanted to ask a question about their demo units that they give free samples from. As usual, no one was around. I waited for almost twenty minutes and finally decided to look at the display unit myself. The moment I touched it, an employee came over and practically started screaming at me. I told her I had waited for almost twenty minutes and she told me she was helping “real customers”. Apparently, she didn’t think I looked like someone who could afford an espresso machine. It was just so hostile and unwarranted. I will never ever buy anything there again.

I didnt know Sur La Table had cooking classes until I found out about a free one. I really enjoyed learning about different cooking methods and appliances while asking questions and sampling the final meal. We made meatballs from scraps in the fridge that were grinded in a KitchenAid mixer attachment!
