I understand people are short-staffed these days, but there was a great language barrier between our server and our group of eight. If you asked for something special he didnt understand so you didnt get it, food was okay, omelettes were overdone, breakfast potatoes undercooked. Thet have good coffee! Waffles and ice cream was the best dish served.
Came here and ordered the Steak and Eggs and I have to say it was one of the best steak and eggs I’ve ever had at a diner. Place was hopping too. I give it a thumbs up. This will be our go to diner from now on.
You just cant beat the service, prices, quantity and quality of the food in this diner. Although the place was jumping we did not have to wait for a table. We ordered our favorite, Reuben sandwiches, and were not disappointed. As we entered customers were leaving with piles of leftovers and singing the praises of this long time favorite.There was no shortage of help and no waiting. Our waitress was gracious, fast and thorough. Our food was, as usual, great. The leftovers made a welcome lunch the next day.

We called a half hour before closing. In the background, a waiter was protesting that we shouldnt be allowed to do a take-out order because we would get there too late. The manager insisted the staff cook our meals. As a former restaurant owner, I cannot stress how important it is to have the right manager. It looks like this place now has a smart, experienced guy in charge, so now we will be regular customers.
Best Diner in America. The Admiral, Bill, runs a tight ship. The place is spotlessly clean, the food fresh and hot, large portions, the wait staff and entire crew are professional and friendly, good location. Brick is blessed to have this fine establishment here.
Food was good diner fare. Host was a little uptight to customers and staff, but other staff were very pleasant and attentive. I felt a little rushed as I ate, but I expected it from a Sunday afternoon. It was very busy and the food took a good while to come out, but nothing I didnt expect from a busy day. My server George was pleasant and asked many questions and made sure I had everything I wanted. Ill be back on a slower evening.

This place runs like a well oiled machine. One of the few places that has maintained both fair prices AND quality. Short wait for breakfast, plenty of staff to cover everything. Clean tables, fast service, and nothing wrong with the order. Glad to know some diners are still the way theyre meant to be 👍
Food was cold. Service was poor. Food was tasty but butter wouldnt melt on our French Toast and the Waffles. Table next to us had to get up and get her sugar free syrup off another table. Waitress dropped off food and disappeared.
Have had minor issues a few times on take out orders. I totally understand weekends are busy but when you have to drive back to get your complete order it kinda sucks. Also recent visit ordered a Boss Burger which is suppose to have Taylor ham on it but I got home it was missing from the burger. In the past in my opinion this place was much better.

Fast! Fair pricing! Delicious!! Rainbow is one of those staples that we hit every trip here. I cant call myself a local, but I can say I have been coming here for close to 15 years (off season and on) and always choose to get rainbow breakfast. The plates are very very generous. You will get 2 meals from one order for sure.
Monday morning my family and I went to Rainbow Diner for breakfast. When we arrived the place was just about empty. We were sat immediately, but asked to wait for a high chair for my son. The high chair was filthy! (I always sanitize everything he can touch) by the time I was done with he high chair and table the Clorox wipe was black! We live in a covid world now and I can tell you this place was not following cleaning procedures. We waited for the waitress to come back over to take our orders. When we asked if they had a childrens menu for breakfast we were told no! I had to order my 2 year old a regular size pancakes. We ordered our food and the waitress disappeared. She dropped the food off ( which took 25 minutes) mind you the place was empty. After cutting the pancakes up for my son I poured what I thought was syrup onto his pancakes. IT WAS NOT SYRUP!!! it was either oil or water that they diluted the syrup with. Upon further inspection there was a 3 inch separation sitting on top of the syrup. the waitress was no where to be found so got up and went to the front to ask for a new syrup and showed the manager what we were given. With an attitude she took the syrup from me and said ill get a different one. beings that we had to order an adult size pancake he still had 1/2 unused. When I got back to the table my mother found MULTIPLE pieces of aluminum foil in her Eggs Benedict. The waitress sent the manager over and again she had an attitude. She took my mothers food right off the table in front of her and said ill take it off the bill then... Was my mother expected to watch everyone else eat while she had nothing to eat? The manager then got into an argument with me when I expressed she was not acting in a professional manner due to the terrible attitude and 3 male bodyguards she brought with her to the table. Why would you need 3 male bodyguards for my mother my father who are up there in age, myself and my two year old! Absolutely Disgusting that we were subjected to that. We will never set foot in that place again !

I placed an order for pick up and specifically told the server (Gloria) on the phone I wanted rye bread on two of my sandwiches, and to make sure it wasn’t white bread. When I got there she opened my meal and it was on white bread. I nicely told her I asked for rye and she started arguing with me asking me if I made the mistake. She told me I’d have to wait for it to be remade, which I was completely fine with. Gloria then took my food and aggressively threw it in the bag. When I checked out at the register the lady was extremely rude to me saying I had to “understand it was a mistake.” I don’t know how it could’ve been a mistake when I repeated myself multiple times over the phone and in person. My food finally came out. After I checked out I looked over my receipt in the waiting room and the door greeter had the nerve to yell “she’s still here!” The food has went downhill here, the waitresses all have attitudes, will not be coming back

The food was excellent and their cherry cheesecake was one of the best cheesecakes Ive ever had.The reason for the 4 stars we had to ask for Xtra napkins ( we got one with Fried chicken, the knife was to fill to cut my friends burger in half n the waitress was no where, so we had to share a knife. The service wasnt bad, but the waitress should watch her tables. Both my friend and I were servers, for about 20 years, so we know.
It was just okay. My omelet was over cooked. Not a fan of crunchy eggs, but the potatoes were good. Service I felt was slow.

We had dinner there today 9/11/21. We were waited on by geena. She gave us our menus, asked us what we wanted to drink and we said diet Pepsi without lemon. Drinks came back with lemon in each soda. We then ordered. I ordered a Caesar salad with chicken and my wife ordered stuff flounder. My wife said she wanted stuff flounder twice to the waitress. But geena was more concerned with where customers were being seated in regards to her area and didnt get my wifes order right. My wife ended up with flounder and no stuffing. Geena needs to pay attention to the order being taken and not customers she may or may not get

Ordered the cherry cheese danish, because it got a full page photo all by itself in the menu, and it said they were baked fresh there everyday. I thought I was going to get something special, but no. Made of puff pastry, which was fine, but then there was a slab of cheese covering the bottom of the Danish approximately a half an inch thick. The Cherry filling, which in my mind, should have been spread over the entirety of the interior, was only a long one side of the Danish interior about the width of a cherry. Speaking of cherries, I think we counted two inside the Danish and the rest was about a teaspoon or two of the Cherry filling jelly. Considering the size of the Danish, which was approximately two and a half inches or maybe 3 in wide by 5 or maybe 6 in Long, the amount of cherry filling was a huge disappointment. I wanted and expected, both cherries and cheese in every bite, and to top it all off, it was served cold. I was actually hoping for a warm Danish not something out of the refrigerator. You may be wondering why I gave this restaurant three stars with such a horrible review of what must be a signature item considering the space they give it in their menu. The reason is the rest of our breakfast was very good, with large portions. We had breakfast, and it is very difficult to screw up eggs over easy toast and home fries. I would go back again for breakfast, but would never order the cherry cheese danish again
Food and service were always good. Lately everything has gone down hill between servers and getting the orders correct. Just left the hospital after 3 days of food poisoning from food that I questioned but was told it was OK. Just lost a weekly customer..

Portions are large. I ordered a classic diner item, a gyro and it came deconstructed which was different but I enjoyed it. It came with a large Greek salad which was great. We also ordered a regular salad and it was huge. We tried breakfast there too and it was okay-good. For a diner I usually see more breakfast options. Overall I would go back. The price is right, service is good.
Today to go from here and the waitresses were very helpful and condiments and covered everything you could possibly need however cooking was not to preference but food was excellent
Service was ehh. Nothing to write home about however the issue I have with this establishment is the fact of a 3% fee to use a credit card to pay. This was only disclosed on the check after the fact. Nothing shown on the menu or sign in front. When asking owner, he goes on a rant of what happened with American cash? and starts rambling on and screams at me. If you have a problem with accepting credit cards, go cash only or increase prices. I will not be coming back not due to food but the way I was treated by the owner.
Excellent service, huge portions, and good old fashioned, classic dinner foods. We were a party of four, and each of our orders arrived hot and and correctly made, and were served with a smile. I had a piled high, hot open turkey sandwich that came with the most beautiful side salad I have ever seen(beets, chick peas, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, shredded carrots, and lots of fresh iceburg lettuce), and a full plate of golden delicious steak fries, and cranberry sauce. My fiance had the French Dip and Fries, and it had enough meat for three sandwiches! The other two people had deluxe burgers, and they were very pleased with them. Everything came with a large serving of very tasty coleslaw and a fat pickle!! Clean place and Covid guidelines followed. If you like diner food this is the place for you.
Did not even make it to a table. We walked in, were right in the middle by two employees who didnt make a move to help us. We clearly said excuse me about 4-5 times and when the woman finally turned around she said, with a seriously bad attitude yeah I SEE you and I cant seat you while walking away from us. I wont be returning while the chance of interacting with her exists.
Yuck. French Toast was ok, bacon was burnt and tasteless. For a diner the food was poor. That takes a lot of work.... especially as food cost goes up and up.I will not be back.....
Excellent service. Great portions. I had the broccoli with cheddar cheese omelet which was one of their breakfast specials with coffee and juice. Was very yummy.Their tables were socially distanced. They used only every other table.

And during COVID we ordered from there all the time and tipped ALL the wait staff working $100.I will never go there EVER AGAIN. — at Rainbow Diner.

Diners like the Rainbow are all over New Jersey and Long Island. I don’t see them anywhere else. Open all night, they serve the crowds going home from nocturnal work or nocturnal play. Everything and anything is on the menu. Nothing is great, but nothing is bad. I had a wedge salad and my buddy had a hamburger. We both ordered dessert. It filled us up, and conversation flowed about how lousy schools are these days. We were the last ones in the diner, and we went back with stomachs full. Diners serve their purpose and their legacy will live through coming generations.
I am a customer that goes back all the time the food is superior to any sit down fancy restaurant. And there is one young man that is fantastic his name is Mario, hes part of the reason I go back you dont get many people that are so Superior in their attitude in their work, he should be commended. Ill be back thats for sure I go quite a bit there whenever somebody comes into town I bring them there.

My friend and I travel many places due to our work so we are always looking for a place that has good food, great customer service, and a good price. We were seated quickly on a saturdy night and the menu selections were awesome . The waitress took our orders and was very friendly and she brought our drinks very quickly as wellas our food, What really impressed me was the way that she could anticipate what a customer would need. The restaurant was busy by Chi was always smiling underneath her mask and was very courteous. You see the manager on the floor making sure everything was clean and the customers were happy. The food was totally amazing Add the price is really good and you do get a lot of food.This has to be one of the hidden gems in this area
Something for everyone on the menu. Prices are reasonable. Since COVID we have been taking out and never had a problem with our orders. Can’t wait to go back to dining in. Best diner in the area.

This place has gone down hill fast. Ordered a large amount of food tonight for mothers day dinner. Not only did they mess up the order but the owner screamed at me on the phone saying I was lying. The food we did get was so bad that nobody wanted to eat it. Needless to say I will not be wasting my money at rainbow dinner ever again. Royal farms chicken is sooo much better anyway!!!!

After wards i here myself getting trash talk to another person. Real proffesinal. Over a side salad Im willing to pay extra for. From now on will go to another diner up the street. Maybe some place that cares about there customers.

Went there by myself for a rare night of dining alone. Was looking for something really good and satisfying to eat.I went here because Ive had decent food in the past and it had been a while. Got the Penne Vodka with Chicken dinner special. Got the split peas soup and was disappointed. It was barely warm and the croutons tasted like overly deep fried bread. No big deal though. I ate it and was ready for the entree. The vodka sauce was runny and super sweet, and the chicken was utterly flavorless. After 2 or 3 bites I just couldnt eat anymore. The server could see my displeasure and came over to ask if everything was already. I gave her my honest impressions and she had no problem getting me something else.So I got a Philly Chesse wrap w/ fries instead. It was better, but still lacked flavor. I just dealt with it at this point. But overall disappointed in the quality of the food.The server was fantastic. I would give her 5 stars if I could. And her service alone would have made it a 3 star visit. But when I went to pay the cashier (who Im guess had to comp my meal) was not so pleasant.Needless to say I will not be going back. Really a disappointment overall despite a good server.
Good place to go for breakfast only.For $62 dollars for my wife and I dinner, was tasteless, roasted spring chicken was so dry that I almost choked on the breast. Baked potato was a day old. I should have sent it back. The catch is they give such large portions to distract from the poor quality of food. This was my second attempt of eating there. Lunch is just as bad.
