I went in on Thursday, 9 September 2021 to look at their Scag zero turn lineup. John Cox was there and greeting me friendly. He asked me some basic questions and showed me exactly what would work best. John did not care to or try to up-sell me at all. He only cared to get me exactly what I needed, nothing more and nothing less. As a matter of fact, when I inquired about a more expensive model, he said that it would work great too, but it would be unnecessary for my application and left it up to me to decide.He took the time to demo the mower I was interested in. Even though it was very busy, I felt like an appreciated customer through and through. I came in mid-day and he already had many deliveries lined up… but he even managed to schedule and deliver same day, which made me feel even more great about the whole experience. I expected to have to schedule for delivery, but no… I was mowing my grass within two hours. That’s how quick he got it there for me.John was kind, caring, and considerate during the entire transaction. He did everything he said he would and did everything he could to meet what I was hoping to get done. I ended up with a Scag Patriot and it has been doing good work for me. I love the mower and it feels good to know I got it from such an awesome business with an experience I’ll never forget.Quality product and quality service. Horrible experience. Went up to buy a tractor last Saturday and John Cox met up with us outside. My husband had some questions about the tractors but John was so busy answering his cell phone and didnt seem very interested in working with us so we left. Went to West Hills and had a great experience and bought a tractor from them. Definitely dont recommend unless you get a different salesman maybe.

You might see a previous review I did where we were just starting to look.Well, we bought a new John Deere X738 tractor!These people are the best. Before we bought, John came over to look over our property and told me that I was actually looking at more tractor than I really needed. (I had been looking online) Anyway, he save us money, special ordered this tractor for us, and delivered it.Ill be a customer for life. They are all very nice and very helpful

Scag is known for being an expensive but really good lawn mower. I was like a kid in a candy store the day we got our Turf Tiger II mower and started seeing what it could do. Its an amazing machine so you can imagine my shock when the trouble started with about 12 hours on the machine. It would mow for about 30 minutes then shut down. After an hour or so to cool off it would do the same, always shutting down after mowing for a short period. After about the third episode I called Cox Tractor and within an hour a technician was at my place working on it. The mower seemed fine after a trial run before he left. But an hour later the lawn mower Gremlins were back at it so the mower shut down. It was almost closing time but the service department promised to be here the next morning to check the mower. As promised, the tech was here at 8AM and once again he repaired the mower. However, it didnt work again. These types of break downs and repairs continued for 3 or 4 more times. They would take it to their shop and think it was repaired only for me to find out that it wasnt. I never questioned whether or not they thought they were finding the final solution. But, nothing was working and honestly I was frustrated after spending so much and feeling like it did me no good. I called the owner, John Cox and we talked the situation over. Mr. Cox was very understanding as he was aware of the mowers issues. I told him I was going to have to request a brand new replacement and without one breath of hesitation he said that he had already planned on replacing the mower. He had hoped that Scag would help on the deal and I dont have an answer as far as whether or not they did. He delivered a brand new, identical mower the following day. Mr. Cox never uttered a word about me having to pay for anything. Im not suggesting that Cox Tractor can give everyone a new machine when one has a problem. But there was clearly a serious issue with my mower and when it customer satisfaction or money John Cox chose customer satisfaction. Its something that is very rare these days for sure. I highly recommend this business to anyone because honesty still matters to them.

Well run place

Called first and talked to Carter, asked about a tiller. Asked specific questions regarding reverse or forward tines etc. He was short and basically rude. Drove from Jonesborough, the tiller was not at all as represented, and looked used as dirty and tines rusty. The place looked very disorganized and poorly maintained. Not impressed, there are much better dealers around. I expect a bit better service when spending a fair amount of money.

I bought a Scag Liberty Z 52 inch and I love it. The staff at Cox Tractor are outstanding, friendly and helpful. This mower cut my mowing time in half.

I have been having some problems with my Scag lawnmower. I do all the work myself but once in a while need information to help me troubleshoot. I live pretty close to a competitor so I called them. Their response was We are not sure. You will have to bring it in. I called Cox and the guy in the shop was put on and told me what to look for and what to check. Problem solved. Another problem arose and again called the shop close to my house and was told We are not sure. You will have to bring it in. A call to Cox and again spoke to the guy in the lawnmower shop and he told me the resistance readings I should be getting so I could do a check on the parts. I ended up driving further to buy the parts at Cox because they gave me the help I needed instead of trying to get more money from me. I wont be wasting my time in the future, all questions will be directed to cox and so will all my parts purchases. Their customer service is worth the extra driving distance.
