My band students flute needed repair, very specifically, several pads needed replacing.We dropped off the flute, and had not even made it out of the parking lot before we had received a call from the gentleman who checked the instrument. Over $150 in pads replacements needed to be made.he actually advised me that it would be cheaper to have the flute completely overhauled for $225 which included all of the pads, all of the corks, cleaning, & polish.It was something he didnt have to tell me, being a novice at instrument repair,I would have paid just to get the pads replaced. I appreciate the honesty, and the fact he let me know there was a cheaper long-term option that included having the works.

I’ve brought three of my instruments in so far and i’ve got them back in wonderful shape :) i appreciate the fast work and good prices :)

Called about getting a Crown Macrotech repaired, they said on the phone to bring it in, brought it on on a weekend, the guy said the repair tech would look at it Monday, got a call from repair tech on Tuesday afternoon, he was very short with me, told me he wasnt even going to try to figure out what was wrong with it because crown didn’t make parts for the Macrotech amps anymore ... I told him what was wrong with it, he said it doesnt matter, come get your amp, ... I said ok... just a waste of time ...

Ok so here goes. My daughter decided to play flute this year. So we went to Music Drs and purchased her a new flute 2 stands music books and a Maintenance repair agreement. These items were not cheap. Way over $800 total. Almost $50 for the maintenance plan. I haven’t used the plan at all and it was about to expire in a couple weeks. I was sent a letter asking me to renew the plan. I’m thinking that I’d like to get it cleaned and inspected. Really no issues of note. So I called and spoke to a lady. She said I could drop it off and it would be ready in 3 weeks. I tried explaining that this flute was used daily and for classes and practices. That it wasn’t practical to leave it at the shop for 3 weeks for a simple cleaning. I asked if I could get an appointment for 3 weeks from now and drop it off then. Was told no. There was no effort to work with me or try to find some sort of arrangement that would work for us. I guess if you need an instrument they sell some good ones but the issue with the maintenance agreement really left a sour taste in my mouth and most likely I’ll look elsewhere in the future.

I called 2 weeks prior to my visit. They never mentioned that there were certain brands that they wouldnt work on. Its a long drive for me.
