Great people and knowledgeable about guns and ammo. Bought several guns and received ammo with them. Good range and assortment of guns. Unless I find a great deal someplace else I’ll be buying all mine there.

They try to sell firearms then won’t sell you any ammo for it. What do they think your going to do throw it at the criminals. If that’s the situation you might as well just go down to the river and get you some good solid river rock it would be easier to throw than a gun. I know about the ammo shortage but it’s not as dire as you make it out to be. Again why try to sell guns to anyone if you can’t supply the ammo? Would you buy a car if I had no gas to sell you????

The Gun Rack employees are knowledgeable, friendly and very willing to assist customers with up to date information. I give them 5 stars!

Great concealed carry class with Al Tipton and they even throw in an hour on the range 1 on 1. Will definitely be back.

I went in to look for a good hunting rifle, the man at the counter handed me a way over priced .243. i thanked him for letting me see it and proceeded to look around the store, he must of thought that i had left the store because he then proceeded to tell his co-worker she wants a .243 but doesnt want to pay the price then proceeded to laugh. Went to walmart and bought a .308 for half the price of the .243, same exact brand. Will not be back.

Good selection and nice helpful people. Lots of pistols to play with at the range; the $10 rental fee lets you try out as many as you like not just one. Unfortunately gotta ding a star as prices are pretty high compared to tri cities competitors.

Nice people, friendly; I went to the range. I think the prices are reasonable and I don’t mind sweeping my own brass..., every range I’ve ever been to required the shooter to sweep his/her own brass. The person that complained about needing to sweep his own brass should bring his mommy with him next time to do it for him.

Owner is excellent. I will go back for any future purchases, classes, and questions.

Just be aware, if you order a suppressor, they will not call you when the stamp comes in. Employees are nice

The Gun Rack in Kingsport is the very best Arms Store in North East Tennessee. I have been doing business with them for many years. I have bought guns and ammunition plus all my reloading equipment and supplies here. They have all I have ever needed at the best prices. The owner has always worked very hard to meet all my needs and are very polite and knowledgeable. The Inside Shooting Range is a whole lot of fun! This is the only store that permits a customer to try out a weapon before making a purchase. Also there are shooting classes available with the most knowledgeable instructors around at decent prices.The Gun Rack cannot be beaten for the best customer service in this whole area. Trust me.

About the only positive I can say about this place is the retired police officer running the shooting range is top notch and very knowledgeable. The owner is always right no matter what the customer thinks (opposite of good customer service). Their prices are higher than average. If you do buy a firearm here make sure to inspect it thoroughly. I purchased my first handgun here and didnt have much experience so I mistakenly trusted them. I ordered a gun with a safety latch on the chamber and when it came in I went back and picked it up. I didnt think to inspect it to see if it had a safety. Now Im stuck with the gun. The only option they gave me was to pay them a fee to put it on consignment and was told Id be lucky to get half of what I paid for it. The gun has never been fired. I should have read their google reviews about others with bad experiences here. They told me flat out it was my fault for not inspecting the gun before buying it. My fault I guess for trusting they would order what I asked for!

My wife and I recently purchased a handgun and ammo from Gun Rack. Sally, the Owner, was extremely helpful. Helped us with form completion. Very knowledgeable snd helpful. Well be returning customers.

We went there to use the range and try out a couple of different revolvers, and they had a good variety to choose from. I think the man that helped us, was own of the owners, he was VERY nice and helpful. He had a lot of knowledge and suggestions. You can tell he enjoys his job. Yes, the shop is weathered, but its a Mom and Pop shop, and thats why I like it. If you go into a store, just because of its bells and whistles then obviously this wouldnt be the place for you. I thought the range was good, again no frills. But, I was there to shoot, not be wowed by electronics and fancy technology. Also, there are only a couple of indoor ranges in the Tri-City area, so take what you can get. The woman that everyone is complaining about, took our rentals after our hour and explained that when we come again, shell give us a card, so we dont have to fill out paperwork. I liked her, too. Shes a no-frills woman, that probably doesnt sugar coat much. Personally, I appreciate that. We will definitely be back again, it was a great experience.

Owner acts as if you are a bother. Wont be back. I would have returned my purchase at a loss. You would have made money on the items twice. But being rude also has a price. The others were pleasant and easier to work with. Make sure you understand there return policy.

Went in to sell a handgun, extremely rude woman behind the front counter. There are too many other places that actually treat their customers with kindness and dignity. I will definitely not be going back there and I recommend that you dont waste your time with them. Rude customer service!!!!!!

Nice range and really nice people! At half the cost of other area indoor ranges for an hour of range time, I dont mind the 60 seconds it took me to sweep up my brass. Not a problem. I will be back!

Very good place to go. Going to keep going back there to buy my guns, there very polite and try to get you in and out as fast as they can was in there 15 mins. Love this place.

Very knowledgeable staff about laws, parts and class 3 transfers. The indoor range is nice and they let you shoot any thing you’re wanting to buy or a supressor that paperwork hasnt come back on yet. This is legal because it’s not leaving the store. I like this place and the people that work there.

Went there today to ship 3 guns. Had all the information yet the lady behind the counter was extremely hateful and hard to deal with. I do online sales and have been looking for another FFL to ship 3-5 guns per week. I guess they don’t need my business.

Staff was not knowledgeable what so ever. Also the owner was not very friendly and acted like she didn’t even care about her business. She complained about how badly her business was declining. They also only pay you like 70% retail for guns you are trying to sell, whereas Gunslingers (also located in Kingsport) pays you about 90% retail. The place is not organized what so ever. Peoples’ personal guns are just thrown everywhere and they discourage card sales.

Went last month first tine with my wife and granddaughter 14 visiting from Connecticut had a great time using the range nice people and I recently purchased a rifle I’m having shipped to Gun Rack for pickup so do recommend them!

I was given very good advice on a new holster! because of surgery I was unable to use the old one. He spent probably 20 minutes going through different options. I.E. concealment, locking, comfort, and overall feel. I highly recommend stopping by!

They have a decent range (handguns only) but prices are a bit high on their merchandise. Also, some of the staff dont seem very knowledgeable.

Me and my brother purchased some used handguns here. We really liked the guns, and were fine with the price. Unfortunately we are Virginia residents and had to cross the line to weber city to get our background check completed. It was the Thanksgiving week and we thought we could get our purchase knocked out and done before the holiday, not the case. The owner didnt offer any options for help as far as getting our background checks asap. She said that any other place was just too far away. She told us that we would have to wait until Saturday to go get our guns and finish the process. Kinda upsetting, but ok. She then calls my brother on Friday saying she was wrong, that we would have to wait till Saturday. She failed to call me about this error, though. By the time I got the message, the other store closed in 3 minutes. We ended up making 3 trips over an hour, one way to get this finalized. Very frustrating.

They just didnt seem too friendly, I was the only one there and it seemed like they wanted me out as quick as possible.

Only been here once and will soon return for next purchase. They recommended a gun saftey instructor after I purchased a handgun(for a very reasonable price might I add) and I had asked about the TN carry permit. Signed up for the handgun safety class then attended it the following week and was highly impressed. Critical Edge Training LLC was who it was through. If anyone wants to get their TN/VA handgun carry permit I highly recommend these guys (David Winegar and Phillip Lane). They know what their talking about and will help with anything they can. I was enlightened in terms of gun safety/gun laws when I walked out the door at the end of the 8 hr training class as well as very pleased with the time spent there. I will highly recommend Critical Edge Training LLC to anyone in the future looking to retain their handgun carry permit.

Indoor range is very nice and much more affordable than other indoor ranges in the area.

Gun class by xtreme vigilance was great best even. But prices are way to high way to many other stores to go to. dunhams new store in forthenry mall will price match so find what u want Google that gun see prices find cheapest price and thats what u will pay great staff to. Called to make arrangements for a transfer. The lady that answered was very polite and promptly assisted me in acquiring a copy of their license for the transfer.

Will never return. You couldnt pay me to go back, the owner her self treated me like I was wrong for spending my money there because I bought out their stock on a specific caliber ammo.Not to mention I was followed around every visit like they were watching me and treated like I was the one who owed them something. What a joke.

I have purchased several firearms from this shop. 2 have been very disappointing. 1 I purchased new on the used rack, which after closely looking the butt stock was way out of whack, crooked as a hillbillys chompers. The 2nd was a kahr pistol, which had problems with shaving the slide, new gun covered by warranty so not really their fault. I have to admit I was taken well advantage of on what I paid for it, cash might I add, and no break wouldnt even cover my bg straight up what was on ticket, and was still $150 high on it. I should be able to trust a company to be fair with me. I go to look, but I know more about firearms now. They wont get me again Ill tell ya that.

Lady that owns it is very rude. The gentlemen are pretty helpfulP.s. just to add to my first. This women is horrible. Ain’t been in in awhile. Thought maybe she has learned alittle manners by now and it’s right around the corner from my house. Nope. Straight called me a lier because she wants to charge $100 more for the same gun I can get online way cheaper.

I dont recommend this store mainly because of the staff I walked in they did not greet, ask if they could help with anything, or even act like I was even in building. It was like I was a ghost. I was there looking for some stuff for my ar 15 and would have spent some money but no service. And when I went to leave the women behind the counter looked at me and turned and walked away. Will not go back again.

Workers always act like they cant atand if you know anything about guns and it really seems to piss them off if you do know what your talking about so they cant scam you..i walkes out after 2 mins of talking to them very unfriendly ...go to gun slingers or acadamy sports in jc..best prices on ammo..they want almost 8$ a box for the same ammo you can buy right down the road for 32$ for a 100 rounds

Sold two guns on consignment gave the owner her 40 dollars put 360 down on a 890 dollar gun came to pay 600 dollars on a credit card and was told i would have to pay a 3 percent fee .every other store in town pays their own fees .she didnt mind profiting off my guns or taking my 890 dollars.she would not even split the fee with me .cant give me 9 dollars .but dont mind taking 900+. i will go to sams gun and pawn in bristol he is not as selfish!!! he allways knock some off and his prices are allways lower . gun rack owner is a taker they have a sign on the messy counter says you the customer pay the fees also you will have to call the manufacturer if you have a problem . .oh yeah god bless you to .i forgive you for being so rude and unappreciative of how hard i work for those dollars .

Asked about a gun and the older man at the counter acted like we were inconveniencing him by making him take it out of the case. It was a very awkward experience. There was also a woman I interacted with, but she had a very uncaring attitude towards me. I didnt see any firearm prices that I couldnt live without, so I left empty handed. I dont wish to return here.

Took my pistol in to see what kind of trade I could get well I had taken the same pistol two other gun shops one is a direct competitor not more than two miles away from the gun rack this one offered me 380 in trade second was buds online and they offered 350 and the gun rack offered get this 210 I just about laughed all the way to my car.
