I brought a friend that came all the way from Texas to see Kingsport. We enjoyed our stop at Hook & Ladder Distillery. The Moonshine was a new experience for us. We were treated very well. Great place to stop!

The owner stood behind the counter when we walked in. He was not sociable or friendly. We asked about the liquor displayed and walked around the room looking at available merchandise like hats, shirts, etc.. He was willing to pour us shot samples but when trying to engage in small talk he was standoffish, stoic, and had a dry personality. We left without buying anything. You should be friendly, sociable, and polite when operating a business, not dry like a weathered piece of cardboard.

This family-owned distillery is a true testament to the passion exhibited by a real moonshiner. The owner, Drew, has perfected his mash and added extraordinary flavors like Banana Pudding and Salty Watermelon. They are planning to expand their operation and are ready to distribute their award-winning products throughout the country as well as internationally. To top it off, Hook & Ladder donate a portion of their sales to help families of firefighters that have lost their lives in the line of duty. Keep a lookout for their aged bourbon coming up at the end of 2021.

Seen the billboard on I-81 and definitely used to stop in. Definitely not disappointed. These guys produce some very good product, and are really great guys to chat with. As the company name may suggest, they are actual Fire Fighters, which is just an added bonus.

Great place to visit, tastings were really good and the head distiller gave us a tour and answered a bunch of questions. Were glad we chose Hook & Ladder for our one available distillery visit in Tri- cities TN.

Awesome Moonshine. Well worth the detour

Hook & Ladder Distillery is always a historical visit. This is the only Distillery located on Broad Street in Kingsport. The still is located in the store and the owners are aways happy to show it to everyone and explain how it works. Taste testing is aloud. There isnt a bar there; all alcohol consumption is off premises only, but testing is allowed. Artifacts are available to all.This is a good visit. ☺

Place is A+. They have a great selection and a great staff. Dont miss this gem downtown.

Very nice place great customer service. Explains all about his different moonshine And his bourbon whiskey. Very good tasting moonshine especially his gold award winning 100 proof moonshine. You will not leave empty handed

I am not a big drinker, but we were given samples of the variety of flavored moonshine, along with their whiskey, vodka and spiced rum, all were great quality. We purchased the salted caramel moonshine, very good in coffee.

Stopped into today for a testing, the three shines I tested were all decent and the bartender was very knowledgeable about the product and very friendly. i really enjoy the cinnamon so and look forward to trying the bourbon

Great moonshine! Loved being able to sample a few before deciding what to purchase.

We stopped in on April 22 ND, this is a quant little distillery. We were able to see their process and learn a great deal more than we knew walking in. We went to the sample area and Oh my goodness, what a great product. We tried most of the flavors and proofs. It was hard to make a decision on the ones we wanted to purchase. This is a MUST stop when you are in Kingsport TN. The gentleman were so nice and full of information. We will definitely be back to purchase more and sample the new flavors as they are made per season.

We were there at 8p and lights were off and the closing time was scraped off. We were in town from VA for a world series softball tournament and wanted to support local business. Id say update your website for accurate times.

Travelling from Indiana to visit my son in Tennessee with extremely STRICT instructions from my daughter, who is married to a Firefighter, that I cannot buy her Dreamsicle Moonshine from ANY other place except Hook & Ladder!!! She wants to make sure that she supports a Firefighter owned business! I met Kenneth, who is the nicest guy in the world, and she FINALLY got her Dreamsicle Moonshine after YEARS of wanting to try it

WOW. What a great place nice people. Holly cow do they make good moonshine, but I have to say some of the best bourbon Ive ever had.

Its a small little establishment, but the tastings are mostly free (some with a $1 donation to a charity), the moonshine is tasty, and the staff are friendly.

Great tasting moonshine. And they also have a great tasting burbon. Awesome store items to purchase along with moonshine making equipment and items. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Many fire related items on the walls and shelves showing s brief history of firefighting in the Kingsport TN area.
