My car got towed on Sunday. I asked the tow man to inform the mechanic that they should call my dad instead of me and gave them his name and number then asked when it would be done. He said Sundays are slow and they could have it done by the end of the day. Monday i called and they dont work Sundays and would have never been able to do it then. They said they would look at it tomorrow. It was not looked at until Wednesday afternoon during which the mechanic informed me she was unsure if she was to call me or if I was to call her. She also said she didnt have my fathers number and asked me about the parts id need to order. I told her to call my dad. She did and the part was in on Thursday. She informed me it would be fixed either Thursday night or Friday morning. I called again on Friday in the afternoon and she said it would be up in 20 minutes. My car was not done until 1.37 on Saturday. It cost upwards of $375 for the tow and the starter getting replaced and they would not answer my fathers calls for the most part. Overall the mechanic I spoke to was short and quick to get off the phone.

Staff and mechanics were extremely helpful. Im not from Kirksville, but they all made me feel right at home. Wonderful experience. In and out in less than an hour. Hope to bring all my future business to them. Thank you again.

Vehicle: Mercedes E320 CDI, Transmission 722.62 years ago I had work done on a leaky transmission. Two weeks later it was still leaking, so I brought it back and I was told that it was residual fluid dripping from the cars under shield. I believed them... but I also had no way of checking. The under shield has a sponge-like lining that catches fluids, so it made sense.Normally I do all my own auto work, but I was in area temporarily and had no access to the tools I needed for the job. Fast forward a couple years and 30k miles... the transmission has started to shift funny and go into limp mode. These cars do not have dip sticks for the transmission oil, and do not give warnings for transmission issues unless it is extreme, so I put the car up to check it out and this is what I found in addition to transmission oil being at half level.1. The electrical connector (original source of the leak, and a very common problem on these cars) was taken off, but was not replaced. Replacement connectors have updated O-rings which prevent the leak, and they are a different color... the original O-rings are still in the car, so I know the plug wasnt replaced.2. When they put the connector back in, the 7mm bolt was over torqued and stripped. Unfortunately, this means that I cant actually remove it now. It just stays conveniently locked into its housing. Now I need to replace the electrical connector, the housing, and conductor plate within the transmission. My $15 connection replacement job has now turned into a $400 job -and this is just the cost of parts. If I was your average car owner needing to take this to a shop, it would cost me well over $1k+ to have this job completed, and even more to have it completed well. If I dared take this back to the dealer, theyd probably charge me 5k.3. To make matters even more annoying, the transmission oil pan drain plug is stripped, so I had to use a vacuum pump for the oil in order to drop the pan and replace the plug.4. When I dropped the pan, I found out that the original gasket was re-used with sealant applied right on top of it. I understand that its just easier to put sealant on the gasket, but the correct way to do things is just to buy the $7 gasket and know that everything is good in the world.My biggest question is... what the heck was even done the first time around if all the original parts are there? I was charged $350 for parts to be removed and NOT replaced, and then destroyed upon re-insertion? Why not just tell me you cant do it, or that you cant get the necessary parts to do the job right? Or just tell me that you dont want to do the job at all, I dont know.Shoot, if you would have told me that you stripped the bolt on the connector I would have understood. The torque specs are pretty low. It can easily be over tightened... But the fact that something as simple as the oil pan plug was stripped and not replaced too, means the lack of care and attention just isnt quite there on a regular basis. A new plug a couple dollars, just like the gasket. I understand that 99% of people wont look under their cars and find this kind of stuff, but I will. In another customers car, it will be the next mechanic that has to deal with your work, and they wont be too happy about it either.

These guys are great!Their service is professional and warm. This is the second time they have had to pick up my wrecked vehicle and help me manage the insurance process. Caleb did the pick-up and made the experience as comfortable as possible.... I was surprised and delighted that he found it on that country road!When I asked for a repair estimate, my vehicle was examined quickly -bent frame! - so that I could move on with my claim. I did not catch the mans name, but when it was time to clear out my belongings, I was treated respectfully and given assistance getting everything together and transferred to my rental.Rachel is knowledgeable and clear which I really appreciated. She never assumed I knew the process and was forthcoming with information for me.While I did not have them actually do work on my car, these experiences with them give me confidence that this is the place for my repair needs!

Well I would start from the beginning. I called and told the receptionist what I needed done which was put 4 tires on and an alignment. Told me it would take 1 hour for the alignment and 45 minutes for the tires. 6 hours later my car was done. I was not informed that my vehicle would be taken elsewhere to have the alignment done, which was at Troy Mills auto which I do not like. When getting my vehicle back, the alignment was worse than when I took it in. I did not bother letting anyone know because I was not happy with the service to begin with. But I thought I would try. Upon bringing my vehicle back, they told me some bolts were bad and going to cost $140 for those and another $75 to align again. I told them I would tack my business elsewhere. This should have been dealt with from the beginning. Worst auto repair shop I’ve ever been to.

So about a month ago I went and took my car to Kirksville Authoworks to have an alignment done on my car. I called and set up a time slot for 12 and was told that my car would be done well before 4, which is when I worked that day. I dropped my keys off at the desk and told them I would be back at 3 to pick up my vehicle. They said no problem. I watch someone drive my car away from the shop, which was a little odd to me, but I brushed it off.Fast forward to 3. I walked in the building and the lady there was EXTREMELY rude to me and told me that they had been trying to contact me over the phone. They didnt have the right phone number. I apparently had several issues with my car that needed to be fixed before they would consider doing an alignment. They had taken my car to another shop (Troy Mills Auto) to have the alignment done WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE. She also informed me that I would need to pay $432 to repair all of the parts and that my car was still at the other shop. I told her that I wanted my car back immediately, and she called the other shop. They said I needed 2 new stabilizer bars and 2 new tie rods. It took almost 45 minutes for my car to arrive.I got my car back and right away I felt unsafe driving. There were loud clanking noises coming from the front end and it also felt wrong as well. When I ordered all of the parts and had them put on, the mechanic working on my car told me that someone had clearly unscrewed a stabilizer bar and that it was making all of the noise. He had recently put in new struts, roters, brake pads, and a brand new stabilizer bar. It was very oblivious that KIRKSVILLE AUTOWORKS unscrewed it from my car and made my car unsafe.As a female I feel like they were trying to take me as a fool. Im not stupid, I know what they did. And upon confronting them about the incident I was promised compensation. It has been a month and I have seen nothing. I think all young people should avoid this shady shop and especially young females who are just looking for a simple job on their car. I went to another shop and had the alignment done for 25$ less than what they were going to charge me. The reason for them framing my tie rods as bad was because apparently they were seized. I dont know tools they have, but they came off with hand tools.

I took my car there for a simple inspection to renew my tags. I knew my car was fine, but when I took it to kirksville auto works they failed my car because they said it had too much play ball joint. I had a feeling they were just trying to scam me just so I can get them to work on my car so I took it somewhere else. It turns out there was nothing wrong with my ball joint after all. I feel like depending on who you are they will try to get over on you for money.

Great and friendly service done at kv autoworks but I had an alignment done at Troy Mills a few weeks ago and it still seemed to have alot of pulling. This morning i took it back to let them know the problem still exsisted, they asked if i would go half on the price, when i paid them to fix it the first time. They were gracious enough to take care of the bill this time, but the same problem is still occuring. Unfortunately Im going to have to pay extra to get a second opinion.

Over priced shop. Charged 33 dollars to put on a spare tire. And 24 for a tire repair we never recieved. Total bill for tow 1 lug nut and putting on spare tire 96 dollars. Highway robbery. I had 2 vehicles towed there in town total 3 lug nuts replaced and spares put on. Costs 190 dollars wow. Dont ever go here. I wont be back.

Replying back, the vehicle alignment was not done properly as I have 4 witnesses who who with me when the vehicle was picked up. And all said the steering wheel was pointed to the left. And if the bolts needed replaced then, they would have needed replacement two months ago. I took my vehicle to Joe Machens Hyundai in Columbia and they told me the bolts do not need replaced and they aligned the vehicle and is perfect. The only thing on my vehicle that was done decent was the tires.

They worked on my car, and now it runs a lot smoother than before 💯

My vehicle needed body work including paint and parts. I was told the projected time it would take to finish the work would be 4 days - an estimate of time KA had already revised so that I could have my vehicle back in time for a trip I was taking. Not only did they provide me with a replacement vehicle while mine was being worked on, but they finished the job in less than 2 days (this would have been quicker had the parts come in on time) and my vehicle looks great. Derek provided excellent customer service to get me the best job for the best price. I damaged the front bumper of my new car and instead of just writing up an estimate and charging me for everything, he took time to go through the options with me, explaining my choices for bumper replacement, and spending time explaining the painting process. He was willing to explain anything in detail, and they even provided transportation back home while it was in the shop. He was 100% goal oriented in making sure I was happy with everything, and I definitely am.

Between home and where I was going my car started making funny noises. I immediately pulled to the side of the road where my sister was able to determine my serpentine belt was shot, we were advised by our phone mechanic to not drive but to get it towed and repaired. Since I dont live in the Kirksville area, I asked for a recommendation from a friend who was a recent transplant., cue Kirksville Autoworks. They were wonderful! Ms. Stephanie took great care of me on the phone, our tow driver was gracious and understood why these two ladies had the giggles about sharing the seat in his tow truck, and our mechanic was efficient and friendly. We were headed back out of Kirksivlle to our final destination in less than 2 hours including tow! Honestly the best autoshop Ive ever been to. The staff always goes above and beyond to help their customers. Went to this shop for 4 years while going to Truman and I miss the service I received here. When my battery died and AAA had them tow my car to their shop, they stayed open late to be sure I could get back on the road. They are honest about their pricing and will walk you through the cost of each service. The front desk is excellent and always calls before having the mechanics work on your car and there are no surprises once you get the bill. They are also incredibly accomidating and kind. This is the absolute best place to take your car in all of Missouri.

This place is great. Best car repair place I have ever found. There have been two separate occasions where I was charged nothing to have my car looked over (once with a check engine light on, another where someone drove to TSUs campus to check out my car for me). Just great customer service and nice mechanics. Id recommend it to anyone.

Broke down early morning on my way to Minneapolis. They staff was so friendly and helpful! Got me in right away, diagnosed my problem, gave me multiple options, got my vehicle done on the weekend so I could pick it up on my way back through! Personally called and transported me to the local car rental. They went above and beyond customer service. They could have taken advantage of the situation but did not! They were considerably cheaper than my home mechanic!

I moved away from Kirksville this summer but wanted to write a review as I am realizing just how stellar the service I received from Kirksville Autoworks was. The mechanics and staff I interacted with were always friendly and patient,. Charges were itemized and explained to me so I never felt like I was being overcharged. They are also honest and quick to fix mistakes (which are rare to start with). If I chose to wait in the office I wasnt treated weirdly, and if I was there with someone else and having a conversation they would wait for a natural pause instead of interrupting.I especially appreciated how considerate they were in offering to let me text them for appointments (I am deaf and was calling via relay). Caleb in particular gave me what seemed to be a personal number when I had to leave my car for repairs after someone backed into me, and he gave me photo updates each step of the way. Way more than what I expected/am used to experiencing. Thank you all so much for your hard work and I hope you are able to stay in business for a good long while.

The mechanics here have been done a great job providing me with accurate information regarding any repairs, time table, and prices. The service I receive is remarkable, they have been great to me for years!

I had no trouble with the mechanics all very friendly even the in store workers 2 lady’s were extremely nice however I explained that I had a very tight budget and that I needed a tow and a tire replaced. We talked about how much that would be she said 55 for the tire and 40 for the tow. I had 70 in cash and 40 on my card. So we said that would work. Then after the tow and tire replacement, I go into pay and she tells me it’s gonna be something like a 180 dollars. Regardless of what the price for this sort of work is on average or what ever I came in explaining my situation and asking what things would cost, never once did either of these women mention a 180 dollar charge. I would have told them I didn’t have the money instead I was made out to be a fool and felt like a criminal as I did not have the correct sum. However they did discount me, I did not want to be given the service without paying for it.

Kirksville Autoworks was the best body shop I have every experienced! Not only where they keeping updated every step of the way but they were friendly people!
