So the quality of the leather, hardware, and stitching is very good but the cut on this jacket is straight from the late 80s, early 90s when everything was overly baggy. This looks and feels like an old man jacket. All its missing is the big Harley Davidson logo on the back, and you have mid life crisis in a $600 purchase.Ive been trying to contact hillside for 3 weeks about what I can do to salvage this jacket. It fits like a literal garbage bag. If I had bought a cheaper $150 jacket from Cycle Gear, then thats one thing - but this is a $600 purchase and I had expressed doubts about the fits when I ordered it to customer service. I was told they will work with me on it. In reality they never answer their email and rarely answer the phone.The whole process was like this:I find the website. Read a few reviews.I call the store to discuss what can be done about sizing (this took about 2 weeks of calling, so I should have known right then)I place my order3 weeks later:They ship my jacket to NYThey ship me some random jacket.I return the jacket (its massive, and the guy tells me mine is a looser fit immediately worried)I return the wrong jacket.1.5 weeks later:I get my jacket.It is indeed super large. (I have a 44 in chest, 29 in waist. I lift a lot of weights so I taper a good deal.)Send it back in (minus shipping for the return)1.5 weeks laterI get my jacket.Its 42 inches in name alone. Theres easily 6-8 inches width between my chest and the front zipper. This is a 50 jacket. The arms are like big wind socks attached to the side of the jacket. The waist barely cinches in an inch or two. The waist is probably 38 on its tightest rung.When I order a 42 jacket, I expect a 42 jacket. I do not care to have these pseudo measurements that makes out of shape old men feel better about themselves. I want exact measurements. When I order a leather jacket I expect it to be snug when I first get it in, because leather breaks in and expands. It should be really tight for the first month or so and loosen with regular use. That is a given in a quality leather well fitted jacket. Its like buying a suit jacket at mens wearhouse or something.This thing fits like a whole big black trash bag. It looks like Missy Elliots trash bag outfit from The Rain video. This is not a quality cut, which is what I thought I was paying for. The cuts are the difference between a fine garment and any other garment. A well fitting garment is a quality garment. This jacket is not a fine garment. This is a $200 jacket at best as-is. There are plenty of leather jackets that can take a slide at that price point, and most of them fit better than this. For nearly $600, I expected a jacket that fit well. I expected something to compete with Schott.I didnt want to leave a negative review as the guy has been nice every time we talked throughout the whole jacket shuffling ordeal. Just answer your phone and lets work this out. I have a $600 jacket I havent worn once since it showed up 2 months ago. That should tell you something about it. I dont want a refund, I want a good quality leather jacket. If the only option is a refund, then so be it but Id rather have a good fitting jacket that can take a fall instead. I ordered a leather jacket months ago. I still do not have the jacket I thought I was ordering.

Hillside USA Leather is absolutely amazing. I had been looking for chaps for a while, and I was strongly leaning toward a pair made by Milwaukee Motorcycle Clothing. The chaps I was looking at were, of course, made at some Chinese factory, but they seemed like a good pair, and they had a big pocket. But, I did a Google search for local leather dealers and I found Hillside USA Leather. I am so glad I stopped by there.First, their gear is made by hand here in the US. When you walk through their shop, you can see the large leather hides, the sewing machines, etc. As I looked around, the staff helped me compare different chaps styles and materials. I was able to choose the style I wanted and the type of leather. Honestly, there were almost too many choices. But, as I said, they were very helpful. Once I chose the basic style and leather, I was even able to add two zippered pockets to the chaps. Plus, they measured me and made a few adjustments to the standard sizing.I ordered the chaps the Monday before Thanksgiving and they were ready the Monday after Thanksgiving. For custom ordered chaps, that was really great turnaround time. When I went to pick up the chaps, they made a final measurement for the length and hemmed the chaps. They even added an extra button to the bottom because I wanted one at the end.And they did all this for almost the exact same price I was going to pay for the mass produced Chinese made Milwaukee chaps. And they did it for half of what custom, American-made chaps cost at Fox Creek Leather.I cant recommend Hillside enough. Youll get incredible, personal service, custom-made leather goods, that are made with real quality and have a lifetime guarantee.

I bought a custom leather vest from Hillside in July of 2020. I will start by saying rhe quality of the vest is great. Top notch workmanship. My low review comes from the customer service I recieved after the purchase. When I was being sold the vest they were very responsive. When it arrived the vest didnt fit quite right. But also the pockets on the inside of the vest were reversed for a left handed person. This is opposite of what was shown on the website, and I never requested that change to be made. I would have been willing to work with them on making the necessary repairs. But after an email and 3 phone calls I never got a responce. Frustrated I decided I would try to find someone local to make the adjustments and eat the loss. Im writing this review now because I havnt been able to find anyone in my area to work on the vest. And I am now out for over 300 dollars on a useless item. Perhaps if you are a local in Florida things are different. But for me living so far away I was ignored and forgotten about. Again, not knocking the workmanship. Just wish things had turned out differently.

I wanted to write a review of my experience with Hillside USA Leather. I have to say I am impressed with the quality of their products as well as some of the best customer service in the industry. I had purchased a vest from them, but had not worn it for a couple months, when I realized I needed an alteration to get it to fit right. I called up and explained the situation and they had me bring it to them and fixed it straight away. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a denim, leather or cordura vest or jacket. I know I’ll be returning for more apparel.

I just received my new custom club style vest. It is amazing! The quality and craftsmanship is excellent! It is a perfect fit as well. I am extremely happy with their work and customer service and will recommend them to anyone.

I ordered my vest from them 3 years ago still have it and its still in good shape. The lining has somewhere on it from my knife handle and the only complain I had was one of the pockets wasnt completely sewn when I got it. But the weather is first-rate customer service is excellent.

Im having a fatigue leather jacket and another jacket custom made for me. Dealing with Pablo has been an excellent experience. He sent out a stock jacket to get an exact measurement of me. Let me tell you, the quality of that stock jacket is so so high, if it had fit me, I would have brought that one too. The quality of their jackets are TOP NOTCH!!!!!. Wow, just wow. Purchased the basic motorcycle cowhide jacket and could not be more pleased. I did need to shorten the arms since Im a bit wide in the shoulders given my height. Im 59, 175 lbs, 43 chest, bought size 44, fits great besides the arm length (you cant cut it longer, I suppose thats why they err to the longer length). The liner materials, stitching, and leather (so soft and thick!) are all top notch and an unbelievable value. Its a stout riding jacket to be sure, but it also looks great and is comfortable.

Zipper Repair - Ed at Hillside Leather was professional and friendly. He took my details online and I sent the jacket in to be repaired (zipper broke after five years of hard use). Took two weeks and it was returned to me like new. Even better, actually, as they made a modification that I requested free of charge! Coat wears like iron and was unharmed when I took a trip over the guardrail a few years ago.

The experience of selecting and purchasing a leather jacket online from this company was surprisingly negative. After reading more than several sterling customer reviews and deciding which leather to purchase as a gift for my significant other on their very professional looking web page, I called Hillside to place my order. I had the pleasure of speaking with, Jospeh. His tone was very curt and he seemed as though my ordering and his having to answer my questions was a complete imposition. He was quite rude. Roughly 10 days later, I arrived home from work one evening and found a notice from FedEx that my package was not left because nobody was home to sign for it. Joseph, never once mentioned that someone would be required to sign for the jacket. I phoned Hillside at their store, the international number, and the number I used to place the order, leaving voice mails and asking that someone please advise. Having heard nothing back, I phoned the Customer Service department at FedEx and then began the day and a half ordeal of chasing the package from a distribution hub to a store front and back-literally from one end of town to the other, AND I had to take a day off of work to screw around with this. To this day, NOBODY from Hillside has returned my call, to asked if I ever got the package, did the jacket work out, etc. I thought I was buying an American made product from an American company who stands behind their products, which should include SERVICE. To my relief, the jacket did fit and my boyfriend liked it well enough to keep it-I was just dreading the prospect of having to send it back to Hillside. I would have just driven it to Florida myself....

I have had two custom vests made by this company and both have exceeded my expectations. The detail that Hillside leather puts into their work makes each creation a work of art. I have recommended Hillside to many of my friends and those that have taken my advice have been nothing but pleased with craftsmanship, pricing, and good natured staff. If you need a vest then Hillside is the only way to go.

I went to Daytona Bike Week this year in search of a perforated leather vest. You would think being that it’s so hot in Florida I would find one. I searched all the vendors and couldn’t find it.
