The Golden Roast is a really cool spot located in an old church, which makes for a unique and flavorful vibe. I got the nitro cold brew, it was delicious. Also, the barista was very kind and chill. 5 sinks!
Without a doubt the best coffee in Knoxville. Experts at roasting and the truly discerning coffee aficionados will for sure want to check it out.The setting is great as well. Itβs in an old church basement and has charm to spare! The not so great part is that the music is almost always too loud and either emo or indie. I almost never go here any more because itβs next to impossible to focus on what youβre doing. Iβll still grab a brew and find somewhere more peaceful and relaxing to chill. Probably best for college students, but not so much for professionals looking for a place to work.*Other awesome thing about here is that they support lots of local makers and sell a small assortment of items. They also have an awesome makers market a couple of times a year and definitely recommend checking that out!
I visited this adorable coffee shop today because I read it is the oldest coffee shop on Knoxville! The building has been updated to fit the farmhouse style and it is cute! I ordered a London Fog with Oat Milk. It was almost $5 for the small which I thought was a bit steep, however, the atmosphere made the cost worth it.i highly recommend seeing The Golden Roast!
I love this coffee shop!! The last two times Iβve been here, I ordered an iced chai with 2 shots of espresso and coconut milkβ¦absolutely delicious! Thereβs outdoor seating with umbrellas which is really nice. Check it out!!
Delicious coffee with a nice vibe. bought some pre-ground coffee from them and it was amazing. i could not stop eating it.
A hidden gem in Knoxville, great service and friendly and welcoming staff. All staff were masked and there is plenty of outdoor seating.
I ordered online. It was quick and simple. It is definitely a unique shop! Everyone was super nice and the dark roast was excellent. Ill definitely have to stop by again!
Love this place! Amazing atmosphere, excellent coffee, high-quality bites (my Asiago bagel today was one of the best Iβve ever had), friendly and prompt customer service. Happy to support this business whenever I am in the area.
Really excellent coffee and breakfast sandwiches. I loved the creativity of their drinks and flavored coffees.
The house Mocha Latte is SO GOOD! the coffee is fresh and delicious. The space is clean, adorable and cozy. Easy to socially distance. The cashier I interacted with was helpful and friendly. I will definitely be returning!
Sutherland Avenue is Knoxvilles funkiest district and locally owned shops like the Golden Roast are what make it such a great place to spend time. I love sitting on their patio, sipping a coffee, and watching the world go by. I love this place!
I enjoyed my visit so much I applied for a job here. Coffee was delicious and I loved the atmosphere of the place.
Excellent coffee and breakfast! I love the space and the decor.
Great coffee and pastries. Love that it has both indoor and outdoor seating. Has a nice fire pit for summer night hangouts. Friendly staff too :)
Fantastic place. The fire pit is inviting, the interior decor is homey and unlike any cafe or coffee shop I have ever been to, and the owner/staff team just simply make you feel comfortable and at home. No gimmicks, no b.s, just great tasting, good-quality coffee and mouth-watering baked goods served with caring service.
Chocolate cold brew was delicious! Itβs a really cute kind of odd place! I loved it!
I could honestly live at this coffee shop π, it is super cute and I was just having the time of my life seeing how itβs so chic inside. Not to mention, the coffee is amazing as well! I got the kookaburra- to die for- and a pour over made with Brazil- I never drink black coffee but that was so good that I could! Also, the girl working was so sweet (didnβt catch her name), but told her that was my first time there, and to give me her favorite pour over.... and that didnβt disappoint!
Great coffee. Only 1 person working took 45 min to get drinks and muffins. Also was charged for bottled water and given a cup of tap water.... recommend they get help.
The Golden Roast is one of the oldest, if not the oldest coffee shop in Knoxville. This is their newest location. Theres Sutherland Avenue shop is in the refurbished basement of a former United Methodist Church built in the 1930s. The shop serves a range of regular coffee roasts, specialty coffees, tea, lattes, pastries. Good atmosphere for studying or meeting folks. Outdoor patio and a small parking lot.
Beautiful place, great beverages and great company!
The coffee here is not to be beat! The atmosphere is cozy too, whether youre studying or catching up with a friend. They offer outside and inside seating. They have a fite pit and lovely seats! This is a new favorite place!
Great coffee shop with seasonal coffee selections and a fun vibe. Also an amazing patio with fire table and ample seating. Check it out!
Love this local coffee shop. Great coffee, great food, great vibe. They have beautiful outdoor seating and itβs cozy inside. Weβve already recommended this place to all of our friends. The Kookaburra coffee and the Egg Bagel are both amazing!
Today was my first time stopping by at the Golden Roast Marble City and I have to say...I think Iβve found a hidden gem! I wasnβt aware that there was a coffee shop on Sutherland so it was a pleasant surprise. The Kookaburra iced coffee was SO yummy and I normally donβt like iced coffee drinks so that says a lot!Itβs a cozy spot and the perfect place to get a refreshing drink after a long and hot day like today!
This place has the best coffee I have literally ever had. Got an iced vanilla oat milk latte and it changed my life. Iβm lazy as heck but I am now getting up for work 20 minutes earlier just so I can come get a coffee beforehand. Life changing beans man.
The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The patio is beautiful with big umbrellas and string lights. Thankful to see a local business thriving after COVID. Also try the chocolate cold brew its not sweet just delicious. Glad youre here.
Very cute outdoor space very conductive to studying and working!
Love this place! Awesome outdoor atmosphere! Amazing coffee and teas made by the friendliest staff!
Great service, atmosphere, parking and of course drinks! I have no idea what the name of the drink I got was, but it was heaven. It was a cold coffee drink with chocolate and coconut. Their black coffee was delicious as well. Highly recommend this location!
Best coffee shop in Knoxville. The building is an old church and the decor is gorgeous and the place has a very relaxed, homey feel to it. The fire pit outside is the perfect place to have a sunset coffee.
Great little spot
A great, locally owned, coffee shop. They roast their own bean and they are delicious!
What a great little coffee shop tucked away in the Marble City
Really nicely renovated space in what used to be an old church. Very friendly barista. Most of their roasts are darker than I like but I had a pour over of one of their lighter roasts that was solid.
Great spot, very cozy. The curry chicken salad in pita bread is divine and pairs great with the potato soup and a London fog.
Stellar coffee - friendly baristas - awesome location. What more can you ask for?
The Marble City is fantastic. Mocha w/cinnamon and cayenne. Sweet and spicy.
Charming little coffee shop in the Marble City area.
Such a cool place! Coffee was good too!
Great service and coffee!
Good coffee little pricey.
