This place is huge. I think someone mentioned they concentrate on games. I would agree, but thats not a bad thing. Selection is great. Will be my tabletop gaming stop.

Fantastic selection of board games, Dungeons and Dragons, Warhammer, and more. The staff has always been helpful. They also carry the Reaper line of paints and minis (I havent found another store in town that does). The boys love getting to go and pick out a new mini to paint. They also have a large game area to bring your games and play with others.

Theres a huge selection of miniatures with a good selection of citadel paints. The comic section is up to date with new issues and they have some statues usually 1/8 to 1/10 scale.

A large selection of gaming and games in the store, and what appears to be every English language title in publication on the racks, though I think some of the more independent titles are too niche to have gained an audience in Ktown. The major houses are well represented and a lot of the smaller title lines are present. I didnt ask if they could order anything special for me.

Not quite what we expected, but in a good way!We were from out of town, we thought this might be a video game store. My husband loves looking around at different gaming stores when we visit new places. We were surprised to see not a single video game in sight. However we were pleasantly surprised by how many different card and board games were available at the store. We also loved the selection of DND items.

Employee at checkout always busy stocking new inventory, doesn’t greet nor approach/ask if you need anything/help. A friendly hello/greeting would be nice. New comics ( wed- new comic day ) very limited, supply, books out of stock within hours. Tons of games on shelves and huge inventory of gaming accessories w/ designated gaming area for patrons. Good selection of comic book supplies ie: mylars, boards, boxes. Store has potential to be best in Knoxville if new comic book inventory and customer service was priority. Salesperson at checkout very knowledgeable about comic books, honest about value of your books if you decide to sell. Nirvana comic book store in Knoxville (owner Richard ) talked down my books, not honest about their value ( beware and research your books before selling ) said my book possible missing pages, ( you can find out how many pages a comic book has on-line ) I didn’t know at time I sold my books, yet nirvana website states their business mission and resources ensure you get best price. ( not true ) I was given my father in laws comic book collection and didn’t know much about comics. Richard from nirvana comic book store paid me $20 for my Batman 181 ( first poison ivy appearance w/pin/up.) He literally never mentioned a word about it being a key, value, ( I didn’t know) trusted him and thought would be honest about book values. I wish there was 1 store in Knoxville with friendly customer service, trustworthy/honest employees, wide selection/inventory of new comic books, business hours M - S open in the morning.

Wow.....from the outside it look small but when you walk in its huge....I mean huge! Comics, collectables, and tons of gaming make this my Nerdvana happy place. I will now be a regular customer for sure.

By far the best game store in Knoxville in terms of quantity, and variety! Massive amounts of the best tabletop games! However, not a large amount in the Trading Card/ Living Card games. Massive amount of miniatures from DND, wizkids, bones, etc. Great selection of comics. Honestly, the only reason I did not give this 5 stars is because some of the staff act like they have never spoken to another human being in their life. Dont get me wrong, they are helpful, but super socially awkward. It basically seems like if you are not part of their social circle, they dont want anything to do with you. Also, its pretty annoying when they blatantly keep their eye on you the whole time you browse. Its really a shame, because I really love the store itself.

Picked up a table top game. They have so many to choose from! First time in and I was impressed with everything. The guy that helped us was attentive and the store was very clean and organized.

An absolutely fantastic hobby store. Super clean, well stocked, well laid out, and very welcoming. We drove over two hours to this store to pick up a hard to find product and had an all-star experience from beginning to end. I cant say enough good things about them.

Courteous staff, plenty of inventory, largest Reaper Miniatures selection Ive ever seen outside of the Reaper headquarters in Denton TX.

They have such a great selection of board games and their staff was super knowledgeable and a great help in figuring out what would be good for our game nights.

The store is huge and has a very nice selection of game books, comics, board games, and miniatures. There are a lot of boxes in the open but they arent really a nuisance as they are easy to walk around. While I was there NONE of the staff wore masks. I can understand not enforcing masks but other gaming stores in the area have their staff wearing masks. I was in the store for about 45 minutes and one of the staff members was rather kind and helpful but the rest were abrupt and generally not that helpful. Prices were agreeable and there were even some decent looking deals.

Great local comic book store. Has everything I need most of the time. Great owners and employees. They make accommodations whenever possible. They dont even know that Im a local business owner and I send tons of people their way. But they still treat me like Im a valuable customer. Good to see great small businesses around these days. Would recommend to anyone.

This is more of a gamer such as role play d&d kind of store not really much of a comic store note they call themselves sci-fi city so there is that however really not a lot here that I was ready to jump at.

The biggest selling point is a massive space to play all types of boardgames or read comics, both of which they sell a fantastic variety of.

Quite a bit bigger than the game stores we have back home. They had an awesome selection! Was very impressed. I was able to find my first ever set of dice so I picked them up for 6 bucks!

Have to amend my previously glowing review, because after today my opinion of this shop has drastically changed. I stayed up all night last night to camp outside the store and buy the newly released Warhammer box, which debuts today. I was the first inside and asked for one of the boxes, only to be told that they were reserved - i.e. they were sold before the store opened today, before the box was officially released, which Im nearly certain is against Games Workshops policy. These were not peoples preorders, these had regular price stickers on them. Each store only gets 3 boxes and its obvious Sci-Fi city decided to presell theirs, which completely ruins the point of limited releases, and coincidentally my birthday. Shame on you Sci-Fi city.

Despite alot of options for magic the gathering and D&D, all of which my Family and I drove to look for, they little clerk was extremely rude to my 12 year old, followed us around the store making Myself and my wife feel uncomfortable. We sat at the miniature figurines for a Good 45 mins and never once offered help or asked if we where looking for anything specific, but instead sat in the middle of the store 15 feet away, with 2 other people bad mouthing I am assumed to be another customer.

This place is huge! I traveled to multiple comic shops in Knoxville and this place is the best. They have a place where they do a youtube podcast on comics, comics, statues, board games, and events. I absolutely loved my time here. If I lived closer I would definitely make this my main comic shop. It is worth the drive if youre in Knoxville

Absolutely amazing place to go. Used to walk down here and look around in my free time last fall. Always have fun events and even sales. Nice area to play games with friends and even just look around. Giant amazing collection of Bones Miniatures near the back too. Used to play Magic: The Gathering with both of my brothers too. The convenience of this place even got me back into comics, which I couldnt be more grateful for. Overall nice place to go for anything sci-fi or game related.

Amazing place!Cant say enough good about this shop.Phenomenal staff that is friendly and super knowledgeable that will take the time to actually explain things to you.Prices can not be beat anywhere nearby and you will have a hard time finding lower prices on the net on most items.HUGE selection! Comics, games, miniatures, statues, massive gaming area, you name it they got it! If they dont have what you are looking for they will probably see if they can get it for you too.It might be a little bit out of the way to get to but the trip is beyond worth it!

I love the new store. Location is great and parking was better than I had expected. If you love all things nerdy then you have to check this place out. If you are a table top gamer then this is the place for you. They have tones of tables and room to game. Loads of people can play at once and there is also ample room to watch or sit down and make a list. This place checks all the boxes for what you want out of a place to play. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They are also more than willing to order something special for you. They also offer discouted prices on Games Workshop products. Just stop in and take a look around, even that much will be an enjoyable experience.

Played a nice session of DnD 5e there. Used to more private sessions, but people generally kept to themselves and were respectful. Liked the atmosphere. Lots and lots of good stock, well priced merch and friendly staff. Probably gonna go back and pick up a dicebag!

I often drop in to pick up 5e books for D&D, staff always assists me to the best of their ability and are quite friendly.

Huge facility with soooooo many games! Plenty of space to play games too! Comics and all sorts of nerd thing. I absolutely loved it! Only reason I give it 4/5 is because the staff were standoffish. I tried striking up a conversation with the guy as I was checking out but he wouldnt respond.

Pretty much the ONLY store in Knoxville where we can get d&d books/accessories and decent indie board games. Glad they moved locations. Definitely stop by if you are into games or comics.

Poor Show: I travel a lot and I like to pick a few books here and there when I can. Sometimes I will spend quite a lot on books. This place had a bunch of back issues I was looking for there but I had a few questions and wanted to ask for something I was looking into... I was there for 30 minutes looking and the only people I saw were people playing games... no one who actually works there ever acknowledged I was there. 3 people walked through the door and still no one came up I eventually walked to the back and still wasn’t acknowledged... they have their own little club house and do not care about anyone new coming in the door! I put everything back and left. I actually sat down on the couch they have and wrote this review. I’m sure everyone who writes positive reviews come in at a better time or are apart of the “club”. This is an exceptional shop for gaming supplies. They stock the current comics pretty well, and the back-issue bins are sorta hit-or-miss. Its clean and well-kept. Love the new location!

I love Sci-Fi City, especially since it is bow in this location. They have a great staff, and if you live RPGs like DnD, Star Wars, WarHammer, its a great place to get supplies. There is a wonderful selection of dice bags and dice, too. Particularly, too, they have a phenomenal board game collection, and many games are often reduced. The comic book selection is also nice, and I occassionally pick up Superman, Wonder Woman, and Squirrel Girl comics. They also have a decent collection of introductory DC kids comics. If you are looking for card games like Pokemon, though, this isnt really your place. But that is my sons hang-up, and not mine, so 5 full stars!

Store itself is very nice, especially after some recent water damages occurred. The 1 star is for the customer service which was lacking. Sad, considering that the store had been open for 30 minutes and I was the only customer inside. The shop keep looked up from the comic he was reading long enough to head nod in my general area. Fortunately I knew what I wanted, because the help was nonexistent.

My family are avid Comic Book & game fans. We love Sci-Fi cities game selection! Only thing we wish there was would be more comics for kids. My kids read a bit of everything, but my youngest doesnt find as much that is aged for her there at the moment.

The staff are genuine dudes, not salesmen; theyll give you the best recommendations they can without thinly veiled salesmanship. Good comic selection, board game selection, and miniature selection; trading card game selection is limited to only a few games such as Magic: The Gathering, but this is a boardgame and comic store, not a card shop. They will special order things from their distros for you if they dont have them in stock; theres a community of wargamers that meets here and its a good place to find Adventure League games for Dungeons And Dragons. Ive never had a negative experience with these guys, they steer you right if you give them a chance. Worth checking out, absolutely.

Bigger than I thought itd be! Visited for Star Wars Legion tournament. Place was clean and courteous.

Im not really a comic book guy, but I did have some when I was a kid and was into D&D for a year or two in the early 80s. I thought it would be interesting to take my 11 year oldson in to check the place out. They had a moderate amount of comics and unigue board games, and some real swords in a display case, as well as some high priced hand painted star wars and superhero figurines on display, so overall it seemed like a cool place to go if youre into that sort of stuff.

The layout was easy to find everything I needed, large selection on comics, board and card games, and miniature figures for DnD. The atmosphere was really relaxed and inviting for anyone new to the scene. The staff was helpful in their information on sales and directions in finding the products I was after.
