Went in to get an energy drink and smelled that kitchen, ordered The godfather, the Philly cheese steak sandwich with bacon melted cheese onions and peppers on a soft huggy roll. Got a side of coleslaw to go with it. Probably the best philly cheesesteak I have had in Knoxville.

Stopped by to buy a Gatorade on my bike ride and couldnt even drink it outside without hassle from the clerk.

Been to the store many times since Ive moved to the area. Food is great. a wide variety of products.

The manager is rude and unprofessional! I came in with an associate of mine to do a products count for the drink company that contracted us. At first their personality was understanding and professional but that did not last long before I was asked to leave because the owner said he had been in business 30 some odd years and never seen anyone have to use a phone to log in their information. Well welcome to 2021 where everything is done through a telephone, auditing, school work, shopping, bill paying, banking, booking and etc. And I still wound up buying a drink and chips to support this business. why should I be able to look at this man of color as a businessman when he cannot even look at me as a businessman myself. If I had been any other color but Brown would he have let me continue doing my product count? Crabs in a bucket dont change. Ive been coming to the store since the early 90s when it was see McDs, but as a businessman or a consumer I will never send business their way or give them my business again! This was my first time back in the store since my school mate from Holston who worked for this store had passed away.

Very good food! The store changed management a while back and the new guy is is very friendly as are the employees. Sometimes the women might seem to be grumpy but in truth they act just like my grandma. They are all very willing to help but I suppose when you operate in the hood you have to develop a thick skin. 100% gas!

I like having this place in the neighborhood. They keep it clean and tidy and the food is good.Just a suggestion, they have a lot of space on their property, and if I were them I would consider having outdoor seating and a walkup ordering window. Maybe some outdoor BBQ.

I had an experience there today. I was kicked out for stopping to smoke a cigarette (I dont smoke in the car with my children, who were obviously in the car). I had just gotten my son from the school up the street. I was in a 2016 model car, Im a 5 ft white female... there was literally no indication but, that didnt stop John whatever his name is from accusing me of selling or buying drugs!... in broad daylight... lol... he couldve stopped with asking me to leave but insisted on continuing to list reasons I MUST be guilty (out of state tag, we just moved). According to John, Im more likely to be selling drugs with an out of state tag. He got increasingly rude and downright insulting. He even took a picture of my tag, which wont matter really because its my old address, and again, Im pretty much the exact opposite person that would be doing any of that mess. Anyway, I explained to him my reasoning for stopping (it was literally the first stop after school and the only gas station on my route to get on the interstate). All he did was keep talking, keep insulting me and at the end said hed been spending too much time explaining it to me. To which I replied that I understood the first time but I guess I had more respect for him than he did for me because I didnt cut him off like he did me several times. If it werent for my kids being there, I would have insisted that we run the tag on the car together with the police he claims to have such a loving relationship with. I was no threat at all, I was not suspicious looking. I even spoke to an employee that was taking out trash. John didnt give me the option of going in to buy something, or moving my car to where he felt it would be more in his line of sight, he simply told me I was not welcome and I had to leave NOW. We have been in Knoxville about a month and this is the first bad experience Ive had like this. Everyone else has been so friendly. I can only hope that John finds some kind of joy in his life because its pretty obvious even from my one interaction that he got way too much out of kicking someone out of the parking lot, and I can only assume he must be unhappy with his life in some way. I would never go back here. I even tried to find an alternate route so there would be no chance of me ever getting a flat tire near this rundown gas station. I will partially take blame for this experience, as I knew from passing it so many times before that it was poorly managed due to its appearance but I didnt imagine all this. I STRONGLY recommend not going here if you can help it. You wont know if youre welcome or getting kicked out. Dont let yourself be berated and bullied by this guy! Just go somewhere else!!!Im still kind of stunned. I see all these reviews that are hinging on it being a black owned business. Who cares? A business is a business and thats not how you treat people. Ive also seen reviews stating the business owner is racist against whites, I can definitely see why one would think that but I sincerely hope thats not the case. I wont be going enough to find out. I feel fortunate that the only reason Im in that area is because my son goes to pre k there (its based on availabilities, not zones in pre k). Next year he will be zoned for a much better area. But by the way, Sarah Moore Greene is a great school!
