Just a great place. You dont have to be a farmer to shop here. They have a good selection of clothing, garden and outdoor supplies, camp and fishing gear, guns (though do not expect non-common ammo...problem throughout the US), food, cleaning items, baby chickens (no joke), and a variety of other cool stuff. The staff is friendly and you are allowed to bring your dog. In the old Hills buildings. Just a neat place and my wife has to drag me out half the time. Highly recommended.

Idk what it is about not having enough cashiers, but its like this EVERYWHERE! Cashier was very nice. Prices are great! They even beat a price match for me! How awesome is that!?!

Rural King is a great store. The only bummer was they were out of water bottles and no one would go back and see if there was any in the stock room. I usually by 4 to 6 cases at a time.

I am really happy with some of the discounts this place offers but I cannot handle the way that I am looked at by some of the employees... Always glaring at me and making me feel uncomfortable like they think I am stealing. I spend 100 or more dollars every single week at this place and I dont need to steal!

This is one place Id go if I won a shopping spree, or the Lottery. Carhartt clothing, store-branded Jeans, Car and Truck Batteries with great replacement policies, which you wont use, because they last for years. Everything Farm or Garden related is here, oh, and I forgot to mention Boots !

Seems like most employees dont like their job or working for a living period. When I was there it seemed like I was harassing any employee if I would ask a question. I dont shop there often and Im not that familiar with the layout of the store. So being that Im disabled(very difficult time walking), I would like to go directly to the items Im there to purchase and not painfully walk around the store for hours trying to find the items that I came to buy. It is a good store with many items that are not carried in all stores. But at this point in my life I need to just get my items and go. No more walking around that large store to see some unusual things that most stores dont carry.

We enjoy looking and walking around rural king, we just wanted to stop.in and get our fishing license for this season. Staff is always around and very friendly. Also on gun sales, always an hour before they close you can not purchase a handgun or rifle. Ammunition is two boxes per person, when they get a good selection in. Salesman in the gun shop is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Dont forget, take your furry loved ones in, the staff loves to see your dogs, they spoil Mickey every time we take him in.

There’s an employee that works there that was very rude to us. Her name is Wendy. We were trying to use our credit card and her machine wasn’t working right. She was Rude telling us how it worked. She was smarting off to us and being disrespectful about everything. But we were waiting for her to finish she stopped to answer the phone I told us we had to hang on a minute. And when we went to say something to her she yelled at us and told us we had to hang on while she answered her phone. Very Very rude. It was obvious she did not want to be there. I hope she didn’t treat anybody else that way that day

Its rare to find a true farm store anywhere around anymore. This place has always been a good go-to store for a lot of things I need for in and out of the house.

Rural Kings inventory tracking system is the absolute worst. A potato would be more accurate. Twice now, Ive driven here for horse feed, and left with nothing. First time I only checked the website, which said they had stock. I asked about it at the counter, Kyle, who works the feed department, was on lunch, so the lady I asked recommended that I call first, next time. So yesterday, (a full week after the last trip) I called and asked, gave them the exact SKU#, and was told yes, we have 3 bags. No, they did not. Not even one bag. ANOTHER wasted trip to Kokomo! And the website STILL says you have some in stock! Fix your 1990s, DOS based inventory system! Its losing you customers. I seriously asked a different farm supply store to special order our horses food, rather than drive back to Kokomo again. Rural King cant even tell me when theyre get more in, seriously, weve had better inventory and ordering systems available for decades! But youd rather lose business, than keep enough of an in demand feed in stock? No wonder theres so few Rural Kings left. You are the court jester of stores, Rural Joke...

Food was good...but could have used a little more salt for my taste. Large portions....carry home boxes were leaving with a lot of people. Busy but not a long wait. Not sure about price as I was a guest and didnt pay for meal.

Went to take a car battery back under warranty called before going said yes we have that one on the shelves. Get there and not one .so worker says let me go in the back and check .so he come out with one said this will work but its going to cost you $30.on top of the old battery. I said why cant we up grade to this since you didnt have the one I need he says oh we cant do that .so I guess making a customer happy is not on the there list..

I called to ask a simple question and the associate answering the line was rude, kept cutting me off, answered what she thought I was asking, which was not the case.Associates answering the phones need better phone etiquette and customer service skills.

Good store, but didnt have the trimmer wire I needed for the trimmer they sell. That was pretty annoying. Would be better if it had more dragons.

The prices are good and they have things you cant find anywhere else.

My husband and I went in to very possibly purchase 2 handguns. There was a tall, thick, older gentleman, mostly bald with a little white hair working in the gun dept. He came over and my husband asked him simply what the difference was between 2 different brands of handguns and he responded snobbish with well they are totally different brands. Yes. We see this. What we needed to know was is one better for a beginner, is one better for this but not that and etc. But no.Then as we where trying the guns out aka there slides and locks I told my husband we needed to have our daughter test it too as we take her target practice and need to make sure she can work it also. The employee immediately put the gun up, locked the cabinet and walked away without a word!!! Not only did he attempt to have as little conversation with me as possible the entire encounter (as if a woman shouldnt own a gun) but once he did that we knew there was NO way he was getting our business. We dont tolerate behavior like that.

I got my flock of chickens here, and its where I buy my pultry feed. Theres olrarely any dead chicks in the brooders, way less than tractor supply at least. Its good for what I go there for. Plus they have the cheapest (wild) birdseed in town from what I know!

Went with a friend to buy a gun (himself), the associate was very enthusiastic and helpful with the process of purchasing the weapon and equipment. Not forceful and even helped a woman learn how to hold a handgun with no hesitation, I feel an urge to go back just to hear him talk more about it.

Rural king is a great place to shop and usually has what I need, they can also order thing if they dont have it in stocks as well

Store was really dirty and short staffed. I know no one has enough help, but who wants to shop in a dirty store then stand in line twenty minutes.

So I had a very random “emergency” where I needed a new steel stock tank for my injured/sick turtles. (I’m a rehabber) my old tub sprang a leak... flooded my turtle room, no other place to put them and 2 of them are strictly aquatic turtles so putting them in buckets or leaving them out of water isn’t an option and a bath tub isn’t large enough nor deep enough so I was really strapped and in a time crunch... anyway, I called this location and asked them if they had the size tub I needed and the girl insured me that they had 4 of them in stock... I clarified the size, the material, the sku # etc. and she again insisted she had them in stock and I told her I lived 2.5 hours away and I really can’t afford to take the trip if they don’t have the tank.. again she told me the 100% have multiple in stock. So I drive a very small car... so my husband and I drove out to the only uhaul place that could accommodate us which was still an hour away from the shop.. We rented the uhaul... drove to rural king... went in, purchased the tank... only to go outside and find out that there aren’t ANY of the tanks the girl promised me they had in stock... multiple people looked and apparently the girl on the phone... not only works the front end (so shes not familiar with what’s outside and what’s being sold) but she NEVER EVEN CHECKED THAT THEY EVEN CARRIED THEM! Sooo.... yeah. Pretty infuriating. Even the manager was annoyed as heck that the girl on the phone didn’t bother to check... and then she had to clean up the mess that was 100% avoidable and unnecessary.... a mess that was made all because one person was too careless/lazy to actually check if something was in stock.... so multiple people were put out all because of one stupid mistake. We wasted money that we can’t have refunded (uhaul/gas etc) and wasted 5 hours (that we literally couldn’t afford to waste) of our day all because of one very careless and very stupid mistake. The manager was very kind and so were the guys outside that tried to help us. But still. Thankfully a rural king close to Ohio had one in stock and even gave us a discount because THEY felt bad for what happened and it wasn’t even their problem.. we can’t pick up the new tub until tomorrow so my turtles are currently in styrofoam coolers that are barely big enough to turn around in..... all because one person Decided not to do their job. So literally every living being that was involved in this had to deal with the consequences of one lazy worker... except for that lazy worker. Unreal.

I tend to struggle finding what I need around the store, but overall its always a pleasant visit. Associates are kind and helpful which keeps me coming back at least once a month.

If you keep in mind Its not Saxs Fifth Avenue Its clean, organized, and the staff is nice. They are a little short staffed at times, but they are pleasant.Note for management. The gun department is frequently the break room. There are frequently 3 or 4 employees gathered there just talking away.

I was in and out of there in 5 minutes, a happy customer.

Nice people and great service. Just wish they had price tags either on the shelves or the merchandise. Its a pain to have to keep running asking for a price check.

Not my favorite place, but its close to where I live. Its hard to find a store employee when you need help, it seems theyre always out of something I need (even pre-pandemic), and the checkout lines are without fail always long and slow moving. If you can buy what you need somewhere else...do.

Love Rural King. I make a run up here once a month for wood pellets, BBQ sauce, root beer, and hot sauce. They have an awesome selection of seasoning and sauces. Good deals on guns too.

The product I got was a great price it was a steal when I went to the store I got an email that said my order was ready about one hour before I got there and it took almost 20 minutes for me to get my product and couldnt find it in the computer but she was very helpful and the service was good so I would definitely use them again great rate price

The store has a down home farm store feel to it. Whether you need workwear, tools or a chicken (actually 6 chicks is the minimum purchase, lol) this Rural King has it. I have also found their staff to be knowledgeable as to where in the store to find the needed items.

The cashier was super sweet but the manager wasnt so pleasant and refused to give me the price an item was marked as. I even spoke to an employee prior to going to register and showed them they said i would get that price and I was still denied. Which caused my mom and I both not to purchase. She didnt even come to speak she just kept talking through the walkie.

One of the few places to get a list of different tools and products for the construction field. PlayStation get a FatMax tape measure outside of Handy hardware one place to get Milwaukee sawzall blades other than handy hardware. They have a decent supply of tools and equipment and a fair and decent price

They have most of the things that Im ever looking for and their firearm prices are hard to beat! If you are looking to sustain yourself on your property or do a DIY project, this is a very good place to start looking. Tools, animal raising products and a great selection of clothing and boots for work or casual.

I had a plenty of offers to help me from employees the environment was a little on the hot side I would say it was at least 80° throughout the store other than that I cant complain the prices are good I like your displays their well-put-together management cares what the store looks like. In this covid-19 world were living in the store functions very well they dont have any re restrictions on shopping,they get you in and out quickly I appreciate that.
