My family and I have been taking our cars here for years. John is a very nice and honest mechanic and will only fix what is needed to make your car run great - unlike other places where they come back with a long list of unnecessary things just to try and get more money. He’s very knowledgeable and has VERY fair prices. He’s such a nice man that he helped me several times over the phone when I needed to troubleshoot what was going on with my engine and transmission. You can’t get that kind of service anywhere else.

I drive from West Los Angeles to come to these guys. Honesty and integrity are values held high at this family run shop. Im not to mechanically savvy, so when I replace my own parts I usually have to bring it to these guys to double check and make sure I didnt break anything. Making the drive is always worth it.

So far, so good. My wife and I were having a hell of a time getting our car working again. I only know routine maintenance with our car and I was having less and less time to work on it due to full-time grad school and part-time work. My wife is pretty much in the same boat. So as the car got worse, we had to have it towed to the last place- a place that charged us 400+ for a little bit of work and parts. We were informed that the last time they pretty much had their way with us, being the young and naive car owners we were/are. We towed it to the place this time and they called us and quoted 430+ dollars for a new serpentine belt and tensioner/pulley on our 2000 Saturn Sl1. When we got Advanced Automotive on the phone, the guy said that we were being ripped off and he told us he could handle it (because he knew from my wife that we are trying to get it to work so we can visit my in-laws for Christmas)! All I know is he is looking at it now and we will be able to visit her family for Christmas now and for less than $430! Will update.

Ive been with these guys for 13 years...I HATE MECHANICS like i do dentists...but these guys..wow. They turn me away when I dont need the service yet....come back in 6 months...your brakes have at least that. I have lived in Long Beach, LA and now Wilmington. I STILL come to Brea!
